No eps option when doing a save as

There's psd, jpg, pdf ... np eps. Any ideas? Thanks!!

To be honest with you, the Save As (a copy) function actually DOES convert some formats from 16 bits to 8 bits automatically - JPEG for example. Adobe did this because many people save 16 bit files as JPEG work products.
So why not implement all the saves that way? Why jack the user around to have to do it?
It's not dweebish to ask at all!

It sounds like an item in HD/Library/Contextual Menu Items. Drag the contents of that folder to the desktop and test again. If that sorts it put the items back one at a time to find the culprit..
If that's not it, go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and do the same.
Open "Console" in your Utilities folder. From the Sidebar choose: Log
Files >> CrashReporter >> "~/ Library Logs" >> Preview and paste the contents here for the latest Preview crash and maybe we can figure what's going on.

Photoshop CC crashes when doing a Save As...

Windows 7 PC. Photoshop CC crashes when trying to save a psd file as a jpg file using Save As...

Interesting development: If I load into PS CC an image from LR 5 (Ctrl+E), work with it and try to save it as a jpg file, PS CC crashes. This will happen over and over again. HOWEVER, if I open an image into PS CC via LR 5, work with it, close it as a psd file, then open the image directly from PS CC (File>Open), and then try to save it as a jpg file, everything works fine. From that point on I can save images as jpg files no matter how they got into PS CC (i.e., it works fine until I close down PS CC completely and re-open it later -- in which case I have to do this process all over again). This situation never came up in PS CS6, so it must have something to do with the LR 5/PS CC communication.

RaiseError when doing a saveAs

Everything seemed to work fine in XP with Adobe 9 but now with Windows 7 things are breaking.

I checked the JavaScript user prefs and everything looks OK and I'm going through a trusted function.
The quick bar also indicates that it needs the document save right. I'm not sure exactly what that means... when I manually save as with the doc though it's fine.

"Include" options when doing an export to QuickTime Movie in FCE 4?

I've been doing a ton of testing on using keyframe motion with stills (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1646571&tstart=0) so I'm not sure if I've made up what I think happened, or if it's a different option that I'm not seeing.
When I added some text to one of my tests, I did an File > Export > QuickTime Movie. Then under the Save As... dialog box, the Include menu had a whole bunch of options that I had never seen before, with the first few of them starting with the "#" sign, if I'm not mistaken.
Normally I only see "Audio and Video", "Audio Only" and "Video Only". Did I dream this scenario where I thought I saw a whole long list of things in there that, if I remember right, some of them appeared to be like font names? Maybe it was a different app. Like I said, I've been doing a ton of testing. Reason I ask is because whatever it was, in whatever app it was, that was the only test where I was able to produce an output file that does what I want.

AFP configuration to stop drives all spinning up when doing a 'save as'

Hi,
I have a mac mini running OSX Server, and sharing some large firewire drives over the network via AFP.
The other machines on my network are mounted to these drives, and as the drives are not accessed frequently, they are normally sleeping.
However on any of the client machines, when I am in an application and do a 'save as' for example.. then, there is a long wait while all these drives spin up. Looking at the AFP logs, its just polling them or something, but no real access at this point.
Is there anyway to stop OSX server from having to spin up the drives, just because something is polling them/checking that they are mounted (not really sure what its doing, but i dont think it needs to spin up the drive for that)
Any configuration change I could make, or any type of file/directory/toc cache that is available to enable ?
Another thing that causes all the drives to spin up is launching Aperture on one of the client machines, even though it does not need any files on there.
This whole thing is very annoying as it takes some time to spin up all the drives, and OSX just seems to hang while it waits.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

yes, the drives are sleeping most of the time.. (this is just a home network by the way) and as the drives are accessed about 5% of the time, i'd rather not have them spining all of the time, using power, etc.) they wake up fine whenever a computer tries to access them.
Well, the mini is runing all the time.. i don;t know how long it will last out but i tend to replace/update every few years anyway...

It's antithetical to have a (file-)server do
any sleeping of any kind.
What you can do is set the drives to not sleep.
You can use pmset (in the Terminal) to adjust sleep
settings for external drives.
PS: Minis are not rated for continuous use, certainly
not that 2.5" internal HD.
Hopefully your external drives cost extra and are
rated for continuous use. Don't think I've seen one
of those, maybe you could custom build some.

Default folder keeps switching back to Documents when doing a Save As

In the process of saving image files from a friends website using Internet Explorer, I have suddenly found that everytime I go to save a image it keeps defaulting back to my documents folder.
I can then navigate through to find my destination folder (on an external hard drive & buried several folders into that) and save the file.
However, as soon as I go to save the next image, the Save As window has reverted back to my Documents folder, then I have to click through all the numerous links to get back to where I had just saved the last image.
This has only started to happen within the past week (probably since the last Apple Security Update). Normally the Save As option would allow me to go back to the folder that I had used last.
Is there anything I can do to return this function to it's original state?

Use Image Capture to scan in an item.
Open the completed scan in Preview.
Try to Save As and select file type .pdf
PREVIEW PROGRAM CRASHES EVERY TIME and the file is NOT saved.
Print to .pdf works fine. But Save As . . . .pdf does not.

Adobe Reader XI 11.0.07 freezes intermittently on Windows 8.1 when doing "Save As"

Adobe Reader XI 11.0.07 freezes intermittently on Windows 8.1 when doing "Save As". This occurs when opening a file from Outlook or from the web. I have IE 11 and Microsoft Office 365 installed on a Toshiba Satellite P50. Windows and Office have the latest updates. There are no error messages. I can clear Adobe Reader with Task Manager. Opening the PDF again has the same result in that it may hang or work correctly when doing a “Save As” again. This occurs intermittently when charging the laptop or when on battery.

Some things to try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
If you cannot open Reader by itself, try to disable Protected Mode in the registry; download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

I want to remove the Save option and only have Save As available

I have a form I downloaded that only has Save As as an option when saving. Save is greyed out. My form has Save and when I use it, I get a message that says "the document could not be saved. The file may be read-only..."
How do I remove the Save option and only have Save As availabe? I'm using Adobe X

It was just a hunch that MircoNetFrame was causing the problem. I disabled it as you suggested, and I still have the problem.
I just changed under Tools>Options> General - had checked "ask me every time" under downloads, so instead of asking me, FF saved the download to I know not where. It no longer saves it to the desktop, leaving a duplicate in "my documents".
In windows, I have found unless one knows the entire name of the document, one can never find anything. It isn't listed under recent ''''''__. I can't recall the nomenclature, but the
capability is ridiculous. So, I don't know where that file I just downloaded is!
I downloaded a PDF file, but this happens with all DL's. It was so easy to have them all stacked in one place and I could recall
what I had and when I downloaded it easily.
Do you have any other suggestions other that going back to the old version of FF, which I would rather not do?

When clicking on vcards, the only option available is to save the file, firefox does not let me open the vcard for immediate viewing?

Recently, whenever I double click a vcard file, the only option available is to save the vcard. I used to be able to automatically open vcards with Outlook, now this option is not accesible. I reviewed the file type associations within the control panel of Windows 7 and Outlook is the default program for .vcf files.

Chapter 7 is Working with Projects. The section is Setting Project Properties>Handling Project Assets. Page 180. This shows you where to find File>Project Settings>Assets. It also has a link to Chapter 43 which has more detail about project settings.
When you first save a project, look at the bottom. A check box exists for "include assets." If checked, several options are made available.

Ok this is bizzare!
Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :(
