"No error" message on mail

Each time I try to open an email from Apple to track a package, when I click on the tracking nummber, a blank white page opens with just the 2 words "No error" at the top. I was able to open the site prior to recently. Does this mean the site is actually down or that something is wrong with my mail setup?
Thanks

I think I discovered the answer which, if true, was a real coincidence. Just at the time that I was getting the "No error" message each time I tried to go into the tracking site, I noticed that the Apple Store was down. As soon as it came up, I was able to get into the tracking site. I am sure this was the problem but it sure was strange how everything came together.

  • Error Message re: Mail Version with OSX Version & Mail Won't Open

I have not upgraded my OS and have been with 10.6.8 (on iMac Intel 3.06 GHz) since it came out without any issues.  However today, after using sofware update to install: Java for Mac OSX 10.6 Update 10 and Security Update 2012-004 (which I can't see how they would relate), I went to open Mail and got the following error message:
You can't use this version of Mail with this versio of Mac OS X
You tried to open Mail version 4.5 (1084/1085) in : /Applications/Internet/Mail.app (which is where I have had it forever)
it can't be used on this version of Mac OS X. Try opening the version of Mail located in the Applications for on your computer. For more information, click the Help button (which it stated upon clicking that it could not be accessed).
Also, though I don't think this could be related - for about a month now, iTunes keeps asking me to enter my password (apparently not recognizing that i never logged out) - however if I just dismiss the request 2-3 times I can look in the menu and the log out option is available - weird.
I see others have intermittently had this problem and as I said I have not added or upgraded any software and I am not using iCloud. I performed disk repair and permissions, cache cleaning, corrupt preference files etc, using Applejack but it did not resolve the issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated - while I can get to my mail through other avenues it's not nearly as convenient. Thanks.

Resolved. Found another thread - had to move my Mail App back into the Applications folder and then re-apply Security update.

  • Can no longer access blueyonder emails on iphone.I get the following error message: The mail server 'imap4.blueyonder.co.uk is not responding', how do I fix pls?

    Hi there
As I've mentioned above, I can't seem to access my emails from my blueyonder account on my iphone. When I first set up my account on the phone, I had no problems at all receiving emails. Then recently, just out of the blue I get the following error message: 'Cannot Get Mail, The Mail Server 'imap4.blueyonder.co.uk' is not responding.  Verfiy that you have entered the correct account info in mail settings.  I definitely have the right settings, I even checked with Virgin but they are not able to assist with my problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem, if so,how did you fix it? If you could explain in simple terms as I'm not tech savvy!
    Many thanks!

  • Error message: have mail version 4.3 (1081/1084). Can't be used with mac/ox version 10.6.8.  Help?

My son deleted the mail application.  Tried to to re-install it from download version.  Get error message:  You have mail version 4.3 (1081/1084).  Cannot be used with Mac O/S version 10.6.8. build 10K549.  Any suggestions?

    Hi ...
The Mail app is not available for downloading.
You need to reinstall the Mail app from your install discs.

  • Can't dismiss error message in Mail

I tried to send a bulk e-mail from Mail and got an error message. From other discussions I've seen, it appears that the issue was that I tried to send it to too many people. The problem now is that I can't dismiss the error message.
The message reads: "Cannot send message using the server smtp.gmail.com:[xxxx]@gmail.com. The server 'smtp.gmail.com' did not recognize the following recipients:" and then it gives a long list of recipients. So long, in fact, that it goes past the bottom of the screen, but I can't scroll down to see what my options are. If I hit enter, it tries again and I get the same message.
I don't really care about sending the e-mail; I got it to go through in Gmail. While I can learn for future not to include so many recipients, right now I just want the error message to go away, but the e-mail itself cannot be closed, and it doesn't show up in drafts or outbox, so I can't delete it. Any ideas?

Never mind; found the answer here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17965389#17965389.
Turns out all I had to do was disconnect from the internet and hit enter; it tried and failed to send the e-mail and then placed it in the outbox, where I deleted. Nice.

  • Error message in mail account

I have added my home email to my iPad and it is downloading the mail just fine but I can't open them because there's an error message popping up telling me my username or password is incorrect.
Clearly it's not as I can see my mail loading behind it.  The error message won't let me"deal" with it, it won't respond when I tap on it?
What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?
    TIA

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • I keep getting a connection failed error message from mail every time my computer goes to sleep, is shut down and/or I change network connections?

Mail mail was working fine for months but now I keep getting an error message every time my computer shuts down or even goes to sleep.   I get the exclamation point error and when I try to reconnect it always falis.   My internet connection is fine and nothing else is losing connections.   The only way to fix it is to shut down mail completely and restart which fixes the connection every time, but it's getting really frustrating have to constantly shut down mail and restart it just to use my email.

    Bump ???

  • TS3899 Not able to access gmail thru iPhone. Error message states "mail server not accessible"

Not able to access my Gmail in my iphone. Error message pops up
"...... mail server not responding ........"

Did this used to work or have you just set it up for Gmail access? Did you do it in accordance with: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4810 ?
Are you accessing it via cellular network or WiFi? If WiFi then is this your usual network?
If it has been working fine for some time and now suddenly you get this message having changed nothing then it is most likely a temporary glitch at Google end or your ISP perhaps.

I have reinstalled both updates as advised above but mail v4.6 still does not work and mail v4.5 continues to have the same error message?

  • Receiving bogus error message sending mail

    Hello all,
I've configured an Exchange ActiveSync account on my iPhone 3GS to connect to my IceWarp mail server (I turned SSL off btw).
It connects fine, my IMAP folders sync beautifully and I can receive mail without any problems.
However, when I attempt to send mail using this account (either to an external address such as GMail or an address on our mail server) I get the following error message:
"Cannot Send Mail: An error occurred while delivering this message"
Then the message sits in my outbox.
    HOWEVER... here's the kicker...
I actually receive the e-mail without any problems on my GMail account (or my own internal account I sent the test message to).
I don't know what's causing this incorrect error message to appear, but it's starting to drive me insane.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

If anyone was still interested, the issue has been resolved.
It turns out, the iPhone was attempting to create a "Sent" folder and the mail server was claiming that the name was invalid. The server had a folder named "Sent Items" already on it to store the sent e-mails.
I re-named the "Sent Items" folder on the server to "Sent" and everything was fixed.

  • Error Message with Mail

I am using Mail and I have tried multiple accounts like Yahoo, Gmail, and AOL and it won't let me send emails to my Doctor who has a verizon.net email. This is very problematic because she has many patients and calls and visits are hard to get. My mother gets the same thing sometimes on her iPad but she usually is able to get the message through. I am wondering if this is a problem with my Computer and Mail or is this an internet issue.
*Keep In mind we have a ActionTec Router and it has caused problems in the past and I am wondering if this is a NAT issue which they are famous for. We should be getting it replaced soon and I hope this resolves the issue but I am wondering if there is something else I should be trying to fix.

This is the easiest one to find. There were many others but I think I accidentally deleted them. After this message is a bunch of jibbersh that I can't understand and I would post it but it contains very personal information.

  • Sync error message about mail client - using Outlook Express, wants Outlook

I keep getting a message that "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"
Outlook Express IS set as my default mail client, both on my computer and on the iTunes screen.
I use Calendar on the iPhone, but do not have sync requested on iTunes for this function.
I do have Outlook on my computer, but do not use it (don't need calendar function at home, but do like to have it on my iPhone since I carry it with me)

I'm having a similar problem. "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client." (iTunes 7.6.1.9)
I sync my contacts with Yahoo! (not Outlook).
I was syncing my calendar with Outlook. This was working just fine, but when I started to get the error above, I have tried turning off the calendar sync. No help there.
I am not syncing any email accounts via iTunes.
Anyone have any suggestions? Given that I'm not syncing with Outlook I don't understand the error. Thunderbird is my default mail client and I shouldn't have to change the system defaults to work around this bug.

  • Error message from mail

For the past few weeks I've been getting an error about not being able to receive mail, but I can, sometimes. Recently switched internet providers but it was happening prior to that. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Haven't changed any settings on my mail server or preferences for a long time.

Yes, I get errors 5-6 times per day during business hours for approx. 15 minutes at a time. I set the account up in Thunderbird and then kept an eye on it over the course of a few days. It didn't experience any connection errors.
Try some of Mail debugging options from this hint. Compare the results from when you get errors to when you don't get errors. If you can point a finger at something and say "here is where it breaks", then I encourage you to file a bug report.
What is this error? Are there any discussions about it?

  • Con't. Serious error message re Mail.app w/respect to Mail Preferences not opening...

    Hi all (& Linc)
    In an earlier thread,
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/25906027#25906027
I prematurely reported a problem with Mail.app prefs not opening as being solved, when it turns out it hasn't been. The freezing of Mail.app upon invocation of Mail Prefs reintroduced itself, both with a suspected culptrit (the great DPS by Bongiovi) turned on and off and Quit Then, without any noticeable input, Mail.app suddenly righted itself and works as normal. I ran a test in Console and saw this foreboding log readout. It may still involve DPS. I'm reporting this same to the savvy engineers at Bongiovi, as well. What's to be done? I may be stumped, but I'm not giving up...
    All best,
    David

  • "Word was unable to open the data source" error message in mail merge

I am trying to do a mail merge in Word 2008 for Mac and receive this message when I try to open the Excel file for the data.  Can someone please help?  I tried changing the filename to .xls (originally .xlsx) but it didn't work.

As far as I know, you cannot merge from a  .xlsx data source in Mac Word 2008, and even though there is a KnowledgeBase article at  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2604725 that suggests
that all you have to do is "rename" to a .xls, I think what you actually have to do is open the .xlsx in Excel and use Save As to create a .xls.
Generally speaking, you will be better off researching Mac Word questions in the relevant forum on Microsoft Answers, in this case here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2008-macword
This particular issue was discussed in this conversation: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2008-macword/cant-open-excel-file-for-mail-merge/90ccfd11-273f-4c2a-aa37-1d859b8e41e2?page=1
If that does not help, and you cannot find anything else in the Answers group, I suggest that you post a new question in that group, referencing the above conversation and specifying your version of Mac OSX.
