No external Linking for a animated gif

Hi there,
i want to paste an animated gif into my iWeb webpage with an enternal link - but there is no option to do this!
I already tried to lay over a rectangle, because here it is possible to link to an external page.
The prob here is, that after publishing the page, no linking is available.
Can somebody help me?
Thx,
M.

M:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How did you configure the rectangle. I believe the object must have a color and some opacity. Set the color to the default white and the opacity to 1%. Then publish again and give it a try. Be sure it's in front of the gif and not behind.
I found it advantageous to publish to a folder on my desktop while I'm testing my site as it's so much quicker to publish, check, edit and republish. Then when I've got it right I publish to .Mac.
Do you Twango?

  • Save for web - animated gif problem PSE (Mac)

    Trying to save an animated gif using Save for Web dialogue box...
    works fine, except checkbox "Loop" and delay rate drop down box are highlighted (active) but can't be changed
    anyone know reason /  fix?

    No fix, alas. This has been a problem in the mac version since PSE 6. If your gif is small, you can duplicate layers so that they appear to stay onscreen longer, but the best advice is to not use PSE/mac for this, unfortunately.

  • Program for turning animated .gif and MP3 files to .mov

    I need a program that takes an animated GIF and an MP3 of WAV file and turns them into a .mov file, but I don't have the money for FinalCut. Is there a cheaper (or free) program that can do this thing?

    hello. try mpeg streamclip here -

    not sure if it'll help, but most users here swear by it for various format conversions. and it's free.

  • Looping options in Save for Web - Animated GIF

    I find this one rather annoying, in the latest verison of Adobe Photoshop CS6 when creating an animated GIF via the Save for Web dialog box; there is a looping option section that allows your animation to loop forever, or once...
    In the previous version, it would remember which setting you selected for subsequent saves.  In this new version, it forgets it and always defaults to ONCE; where I want FOREVER... making me forget to check it sometimes, when I'm working fast; and create animations that stop after one loop...
    Anyone else experience this annoyance?
    -Joe

    Seems like people shouldn't have to re-request features that were already features in the last version.
    Either Adobe took the "stickyness" of that setting out on purpose, in which case I'd expect nothing more will be done, or they left it out accidentally with the restructuring of the Timeline window, in which case it would be a bug, no?
    But Christoph is right in either case - you can help ensure it is seen by posting it on the http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/ site.

  • External link for documentation in Query

    Hi,
    in a query I have trained the display document link for Date and Masterdata. When I select the link I can visualize the content of the document created in BW.
    I have the necessity, instead, that when I call the link of the document from the query it has directly or indirectly aim also (double jump) to an external link where the documentation there is (example: in the document contain link: http://www.lg.com/). It is possible?
    Thanks.

    Hi Kams,
    I have not made sense of well perhaps. In the property of the query I am able setting the visualization of the in partnership documentation to every InfoObject. On Click the "leaflet" opens in the web all documents associated for the InfoObject. My problem is that the documentation resides on an external link to BW and therefore I want to make to aim not to the Repository SAP but to an iperlink that open the documentation of that object. Is it possible?
    If I use the RRI, in the context menu opens only on the characteristics in drill down and not on all those contained in the query as instead it happens if imposes the visualization of the documentation.
    Thanks.
    Best Regards.

  • Save for web animated gifs (ipad vs desktop)

    I am exporting animated gifs out of photoshop and wondering why there is a discrepancy in the display speed of the animated gifs when viewing on an ipad compared to on the desktop.
    Specifically the ipad displays the gif quite a bit slower than in the desktop...
    so something that views on the desktop in normal speed is slower than desired on the ipad and something at the desired speed on the ipad is super fast on the desktop...

    was related to the loading times...gifs at every other results in a faster play speed...

  • AS3 Scripting for Animated GIF

    Hi,
    I am trying to create an animated GIF for a white noise animation (needed for those viewers who don't have access to a Flash player). The SWF version runs perfectly. Currently, all of the AS3 for the bitmapData.noise and bitmapData.palettemap script is in the first keyframe. So, when I export as an animated GIF, I get a white screen in playback.
    I think the problem for the animated GIF is that there are no frames past the first frame. But, I am not sure how to add frames or re-write the AS3 to get a 30 second animated GIF? I tried duplicating the first keyframe into several new keyframes and get error messages. I would appreciate any help.
    Here's the AS3 in the first keyframe that works well for a SWF (previous relevant thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/734335?tstart=0):
    var array:Array=new Array();
    for (var i:uint = 0; i < 255; i++) {
    array[i] = 0xffffff * (i % 2);
    var _bitmapData:BitmapData;
    var bDHolder:Sprite = new Sprite();
    _bitmapData = new BitmapData(stage.stageWidth/4, stage.stageHeight/4);
    bDHolder.addChild(new Bitmap(_bitmapData));
    bDHolder.scaleX = bDHolder.scaleY = 4;
    addChild(bDHolder);
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onSpriteEnterFrame);
    function makeNoise():void {
                _bitmapData.noise(getTimer(), 100, 255, 7, true);
                _bitmapData.paletteMap(_bitmapData, _bitmapData.rect, new Point(0,0), array, array,array);
    function onSpriteEnterFrame(event:Event):void {
                makeNoise();
    var itsNoisy:Boolean = true;
    stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, manageNoise);
    function manageNoise(evt:MouseEvent):void {
         if(itsNoisy){
             removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onSpriteEnterFrame)
         } else {
             addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onSpriteEnterFrame)
         itsNoisy = !itsNoisy;
    Kind Regards,

    Jimmy,

  • Better use for Fireworks CS6, other than animated gifs and batch process?

    I started using fireworks in the much earlier days of web design back in 2000. Now with Illustrator and Photoshop being the law of the land, fireworks has begun to fade and take a back seat.  Primarily right now i use fireworks just for creating animated gifs and batch process if i have a bunch of images that i would like to re-export or format to my liking.  Does anyone have any other better uses for this program?  detPhx
    I am just looking to utilize this more, since i install it.

    For the web, exported PNG compression is better in FW than PS.
    CS6 FW can now generate code  for CSS3 borders, gradients, Sprites, etc...
    FW can be used for jQuery Mobile Theme skinning
    http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-fireworks-cs6/
    I still use AI for vector graphics & PS for photo & image manipulation, but FW has some nice features for web designers.

  • Viewing Animated GIF files in Preview

    Hello...
    I'm trying to figure out why I cannot view animated GIF files within Preview. When I search within Preview's help I get this...
    *1. Open the animated GIF file in Preview.*
    *2. If the window's drawer isn't already visible, choose View > Drawer.*
    *The drawer contains a thumbnail image for the animated GIF. The number of frames in the animation appears in the lower-right corner.*
    *3. Click the triangle beside the thumbnail image.*
    *Preview shows all the frames in the animated GIF. When you click a frame, the animation stops and Preview displays that frame.*
    Now at the end of number 3 it states that "the animation stops", so according to that statment Preview should be "playing" the animation until I click a certain frame to stop it. Well mine doesn't do this, SO what's going on?
    Oh, my OS is v10.4.10 and Preview is v3.0.9(409).
    Thanks!

    Preview in Panther did play animated gifs, although it was a bit clunky at it. Evidently they intended to fix this in Tiger, but instead they ended up breaking it completely. To play an animated gif you now need to do so in a browser, such as Safari. Preview no longer plays them at all.

  • Control Animated Gif with ImageAnimator Class

    Here is something I just found that some of you may like. You can use the
    ImageAnimator Class to run Animated Gifs in vb.net.
    Public Class Form9
    Private animatedImage As Bitmap = Image.FromFile("C:\bitmaps\animated gifs\hopping rabbit 2 - animated.gif")
    Private Sub Form9_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Button1.Text = "Start"
    Me.BackColor = Color.Teal
    End Sub
    Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
    If Button1.Text = "Stop" Then
    ImageAnimator.StopAnimate(animatedImage, New EventHandler(AddressOf Me.OnFrameChanged))
    Button1.Text = "Start"
    Else
    'Begin the animation.
    ImageAnimator.Animate(animatedImage, New EventHandler(AddressOf Me.OnFrameChanged))
    Button1.Text = "Stop"
    End If
    End Sub
    Private Sub Form9_Paint(sender As Object, e As PaintEventArgs) Handles Me.Paint
    'Get the next frame ready for rendering.
    ImageAnimator.UpdateFrames()
    'Draw the next frame in the animation.
    e.Graphics.DrawImage(Me.animatedImage, New Point(0, 0))
    End Sub
    Private Sub OnFrameChanged(ByVal o As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs)
    'Force a call to the Paint event handler.
    Me.Invalidate()
    End Sub
    End Class

    Hey Tom,
     Yes the ImageAnimator is a handy class for showing animated Gif images. I looked at it when making the Playback panel on my Gif Creator program. I could not use it though because, i would of had to create the Gif image before i could play it back
    and being my images are all single images i was stuck using a Timer to show each one.
     I wish there was a way to use a list of single images with this class. It would have been much less work.   8)
    If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it
    Yeah, I see that it is not enough for your Gif Creator.
    I just did not know about it and was using the gif strip to manually make a list of all the gif frames and showing individually with a timer. This class does it and a couple other things much easier.

  • Viewing animated GIF's in Bridge

    Apparently this has been an issue for a while and I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed yet, but please Adobe can you add support for previewing animated gifs in Bridge? It's ridiculous that a supposedly catch-all media browser like Bridge can't even preview this particular file type.

    Agreed. Please allow Bridge to see animated GIFs in the Preview panel. We
    know
    it's possible. There was a build of Bridge that supported it, then it was removed:

  • Animated gif from flash

    CS4, AS3.Windows XP SP3.
    I've created a pretty simple flash animation with some text that fades in and moves around a bit. Nothing fancy. It runs just fine both locally and on my client's site. I need to turn it into an animated gif so that non-flash viewers will see the animation. But I can't seem to get it to come out right. It needs to have a transparent background and it needs to run just once. Like I said, all that runs fine as an SWF.
    When I choose the export option in the file menu (export movie as gif), it does export and I can run the gif but the background is definitely not transparent and the thing loops continuously. Yes, I've checked the "transparent" checkbox and also set the repetitions to 1. Neither of those settings do anything.
    I also tried "publishing" the gif. That's even worse. The resultant animation doesn't even resemble my SWF. It's a blocky mess when it runs. It does appear to have a transparent background but it loops over and over and again it's a blocky mess (not sure how else to explain that).
    The whole thing is just about 10 layers of different lines of text that are tweened in various ways to get the effect I need.
    You can see the animation on the right hand side of this page: www.ssrights.com. It's the one that says "FREE! Consultation..."
    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks,
    Keith
    PS: The gif is not in place. I currently have it set to just show a static image if someone does not have flash.

    Look, I appreciate that you are making an effot to help, but I hope you realize that most pages like that are just there to attract advertisers. They are mostly nonsense. Filled with fluff and little that's actually helpful. Often copied verbatim from the help file of some application. Not the least bit beneficial. There are tons of "how to" sites out there that say next to nothing and still use a lot of words. I run into them countless times each day. It's beyond irritating when you're trying to learn how to do something. This paragraph on that page you referred me to is a perfect example:
    Set other options for your animated GIF publication. Optimize the color  of the GIF to remove unused colors so that the image size will be  reduced. Set "Dither Solids" so that the colors will be mixed in the  current existing palette. Other options you have to set up are  Interlace, Smooth, and Remove Gradients. Set all of them very well so  that your animated GIF will be published at its best quality.
    Just look at the grammar in the last sentense. It doesn't even make sense and offeres zero useful information. Probably came out of the entirely useless Adobe help system that's fond of defining a term with the term itself.
    Back to the GIF settings. I've chosen nearly every combination of settings on the GIF publish tab. Nothing I do works. The only thing that solved the problem (and it's a crummy solution) was to change the text to a broken apart graphic. I'm sure you are more expert in Flash than I am and so you likely know how to solve this. Have you created a simple example with text and successfully published it as a GIF? You don't even need to tween the text. It can be sitting still on it's own layer and it still fouls things up. If so, what settings are you using to make this work right? That inforamtion would be very helpful!
    Again, is there anyone out there that has specifically dealt with this problem and can offer a specific, viable solution?
    Keith
