No face time on iPod touch 5

when i buy my iPod touch 5 i didn't find face time in the home screen or setting . how can i use it ?

Missing FaceTime app
If you are unable to use FaceTime or locate the FaceTime app on your iPad 2 or later or iPod touch (4th generation) or later, try the following:
If FaceTime is not available in Settings: Note that FaceTime may not be available on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
In Settings > General > Restrictions, verify FaceTime and Camera are On. Disabling Camera also disables FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Restore your device:
Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Note: This will erase all user data from your device.
When complete, configure your device by selecting your region and language and then restore your data using the iCloud or iTunes backup.
Note: When setting up and restoring a backup from iTunes, ensure that your computer's language, country, and date and time are set correctly.
If you still cannot locate the FaceTime app, try turning it on at Settings > FaceTime.

  • Face time on iPod Touch 4G 5.1.1 os won't log in

We have tried everything to get Face Time to work. Every time we enter our Apple ID we get the same error, You were signed out of face time because your Apple ID  or password changed. Sign in to turn on Face time.
We have entered the correct information but still get the same error message. I know we are using the correct Apple ID because I was able to log in with my Mac and type this message.
We have done a full factory restore but to no avail.
Can anybody help me and my son get his Face time working again?

    Hi BBChris,
Here are a couple of troubleshooting tips from the Apple site:
Verify that the date and time are set correctly on your iOS device or Mac.
The Apple ID you are using to register FaceTime on iPad, iPod touch, or FaceTime for Mac must be an email address.
If your Apple ID is not an email address, you can change it on appleid.apple.com. This article provides instructions on how to change the Apple ID.
Also, here is a link to the Facetime support site. Probably a lot of info you already know, but there may be something in the Troubleshooting that will help:

    Good luck!

  • Unable to Face Time with Ipod Touch 4th Generation

We have 2 4th generation Ipod Touch's.  When Face Timing each other, only one can initiate the call and connect successfully.  Say Ipod A FaceTimes with Ipod B, but can't connect.  It just rings on Ipod A and does not ring on Ipod B.  When Ipod B initiates FaceTime with Ipod A it will connect successfully.  Now Ipod A can initiate FaceTime with Ipod B successfully but only after B connected with A first.  Confused yet?!?!
I tried to recycle power; turn wi fi on / off; turn face time on / off; sign out of the Apple ID account etc.  This only causes one to work and the other to not when both are powered up at the same time.
Again, once one of them can successfully connect then they both can FaceTime each other.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Hi lllaass
I am still and will be staying on 3.1.2. I am not ruining my iPod's battery life and WiFi connection by upgrading to iOS4. No app is worth that!
Normally updates of the apps that now requires a newer version of the iOS will not show up on the Touch.
Reading through the other thread suggested by CeeZeeCZ I can see that this is a common problem these days.
    Thanks Apple. Stellar as usual!

  • Face Time - "This ipod is restricted from creating Face Time Accounts"

Since uploading iso6 the ipod touch has the following message when selecting Face Time "This iPod touch is restricted from creating Face Time accounts. I have tried switching off/on. I have reviewed the restrictions and it is not restricted. The message above will not even allow me to 'get started'? although previous to iso6 Face Time was fine...... any help apreciated.

I have not seen that problem. All I can suggest is the standard fixes:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Deletion of multiple songs at one time on iPod Touch

Does anyone know a way to delete multiple song at one time on iPod Touch? For some reason, there is anywhere from 3-5 of each song in my library and I REALLY don't want to have to delete 2000 songs one by one! Please help!!!

if you click 'file' in itunes, there is an option to 'show duplicates' this will bring up any songs which have duplicates in your library and make it easier for you to delete. unfortunately you will have to do it manually, but if you highlight several at once you wont have to hit delete too many times.

i have started the guided access and that time my ipod touch 3 battery gets over now i cant close my ipod or cannot restore it

Without knowing what happens when you try to restore the iPod
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • ICal Syncing Wrong Times with Ipod Touch or iPhone - Everything 2 Hours Off

Every setting is uniform across all devices (timezones, etc) and yet iCal on my iPod touch or iPhone lists my scheduled events 2 hours earlier than what I inputed on my computer. The iCal calendar on Snow Leopard is correct, but my synced devices are not.
What gives? This is a HUUUGEEE issue for someone that uses their schedule book to get through each day. iCal is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE with this issue.

I have almost exactly the same problem. The ical on my macbook has the correct times, but on my ipod touch all events appear one hour earlier. Both devices are set to Geneva time, and the time displayed on them is the same.
This is really annoying as I am about to set off travelling, and was just going to take my touch for schedule - now I either have to pack my macbook or do everything the good old fashioned pen and paper way.
    Can anyone help?

  • Music vanishes all the time from iPod touch using the iTunes App...

    Hi
I am often not near a computer and prefer to purchase music for my iPod Touch from the iTunes app on the Touch itself. This has worked fine for many months. I believe my iPod is a 3rd gen. However lately I suddently noticed that some music purchased recently was completely missing from the iPod, even some songs purchased as part of an album just vanished... the rest of the album songs were still there, but a couple of random ones had just gone.
Now, every time I try and purchase and download something from the iTunes App (I literally just tried it again) it just doesn't appear in the purchased playlist.. or anywhere on my iPod in fact.
Essentially, I've wasted my money on buying songs that just don't appear. I've also noticed that the music search chugs a lot these days, as if there's some sort of background problem.
I recently upgraded the software (with multitasking etc) but the problem hasn't been fixed.
This is a really frustrating issue, and I have purchased several songs twice and got nothing! So really keen to see if anyone has seen it before and if they can please help me?
I've tried deleting apps, restarting the iPod... when I try and sync with the PC, the purchases are nowhere to be seen. It's all a bit disappointing really!
I'm on a 64Gig iPod touch and have 41 Gig showing as available!
Please help, I've searched for hours and got nothing on this specific issue.
    Thanks

hmmm nobody can help me? Is this because nobody wants to tell me I've wasted my money?

  • Average battery time for ipod touch 4th generation

I recently bought an iPod Touch 4th Gen, and I'm surprised at how little use I get out of it between charges. I'm hoping someone with more experience can give me some feedback that might help me determine if what I'm seeing is normal.
I'm getting a maximum of 2 days use out of the iPod. I am currently using it a lot, as I'm still choosing apps and transferring data (sometimes by hand) from my old Palm. What I'm not doing is much in the way of power-hungry activities like video or games. I would say my average daily usage is...
    - Downloading 3-4 apps (I'm trying different apps for budgeting, gas mileage tracking, etc.)
    - Sufring the web (maybe 5-10 minutes a day, usually reading up on those apps or using the IMDb app
    - Checking the weather once or twice on a few different apps (trying to find a good one)
    - Adding things to a shopping-list app, or using it for shopping
    - Using the calendar a few times a day
    - Checking email maybe once a day (only if I'm tracking an issue at work and I'm not at my desk)
    - Maybe playing one or two game of PoolBreak (every other day on average)
I have only once watched video, and I did it specifically to test the battery. I have a couple battery-monitoring apps, both of which tell me, after I get my first 20% warning, I should still get over an hour of video. So I tried playing a video, and got only 20m in before the iPod shut down.
Also, when I plug it in to charge, it shows the battery at 45% full within 5-10 minutes. I know there's a rapid-charge for the first 80% or so, but that seems rapid enough that I wonder about the capacity.
So...that's it. Any insights from iTouch owners would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, that's normal.  The iPod uses a lot of power.  For additional battery information see: http://www.apple.com/batteries For suggestions for conserving your battery see http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html

  • How to Set Universal time in iPod Touch?

the ipod touch's date and time has been changed by itself,
so i want to change the time in to universal time
Is there a way that i have to set by my self but doing other things?
like example, my window computer's clock is universal time
can i synchronize that in to my iPod?
    What Should I do????
    PLZ Help ME!!

You can set the time zone on your iPod Touch to UTC. Open Settings and proceed from there. See the screen shot...

AFAIK there is no way to natively sync your iPod Touch time with your computers clock. Note the iPod Touch built-in clock is pretty good, in my experience, and exhibits little drift.

  • Time Capsule/iPod touch wireless connectivity

Before I commit myself to buying an iPod Touch, probably after the September refresh, I would like to know if the Touch will automatically sync wirelessly with my Time Capsule network or do I have to manually toggle the 2.4GHz/5.0GHz bands under TC wireless preferences?
The present, default settings are: 802.11n(802.11 b/g compatible)
    Thanks

Do you really mean "sync" as in copy songs to the iPod, get play counts, transfer apps, etc.? The current iPod Touch doesn't do that. The only way actually sync the iPod is via USB cable.
But if you mean will it connect wirelessly, then yes. I connect my iPod Touch to my network once in a while to surf the 'net.

hi i need some help with my daughters ipod 4, her brother can face time her but she can not call/face time from hers, i have restored ipod and made sure different accounts are used with i tunes and email addresses but still nothing works??????? many thanks.

Assuming you have set up your Preferences correctly in Skype, sometimes Skype doesn't seem to automatically trigger the camera. When that happens just click on the camera icon that appears at the bottom of the screen when making a call:

  • Slow response time on iPod Touch.

Hello, I just received my iPod Touch 16GB a few hours ago. Noticed a problem.
However, I noticed that when I turn the iPod onto its side to display cover flow, the iPod doesn't respond. I have to shake the device with some strength before the iPod responds and goes into cover flow mode.
And when I turn it back upright, the screen still shows coverflow, and I need to shake it hard before it will return to the normal song-menu mode.
Is there a problem with the sensors inside?
    What can I do?

Have you downloaded that new firmware?, some people wher saying that it fixes most problems. But if that dosen't work I would take it back to the store you got it from or ring apple cause that does not sound normal!!!
