  • HT1349 how to find Facetime option in settings

unable to find facetime option in iphone settings

Check Settings>FaceTime>ON. Also check Settings>General>Restrictions>FaceTime>ON. FaceTime is accessed through Contacts, go into the contact you want to FaceTime with and you will see a tab at the bottom of the contact information.  It should be noted that FaceTime has been removed from iPhones sold in some Middle Eastern countries.

  • Can't see the FaceTime option in Contacts on iPhone4s. Any clues why?

When I select an individual contact from contacts, I do not see the Facetime option to select.
Also, went into Settings>Facetime & tried to sign in but got message "Could not signin. Please check your network connection and try again".
I am using the 3G network and have connectivity via other apps.

Facetime needs a wifi connection, not 3g.

At the bottom of the contact, there should be 4 buttons. I can't remember what they all say, but one is "Share Contact" and one is "FaceTime". Do you not have those buttons?
They should be at the top of the conversation.

  • Can`t find the facetime option in my iphone 5

hey, i can`t find facetime option in my iphone, i treid each and ever thing to find it but i can`t find it my model have e/a but still no face time, checked the restriction and all settings reset 2 time but still nothing what to do now !! plz help

Your phone originated from Saudi Arabia, & that's why you don't have FaceTime. FaceTime is banned, by law, on all iPhones sold there, & there is no way to add it back to your phone.

  • HT5622 Hey Hi ! I brought iPhone 5 in Kuwait and now I'm in India now.I noticed my FaceTime option is missing. No option no settings and no data related to FaceTime . I'm very much worried about it. Need help as soon as possible.

Someone could have stolen it in Kuwait...happens all the time .
Seriously...FaceTime is banned there...there is no way to add it back to your phone...if you wanted FaceTime, you should not have purchased your phone there.
BTW: You don't have any warranty or support for this phone in India.

  • Facetime Option Gone, tried all the tricks...

I've searched the discussion boards everywhere and tried all the tips, but I can't get the facetime option button back for any of my contacts.  I've used FT for over a year, but just vanished one day.
I've tried: soft reset, hard reset, phone restore, update software, cycle FT option in settings on/off, cycled wifi on/off in combo with FT option.  Nothing seems to work.
I'm also just on a wifi network in Afghanistan, no cell coverage, but like I said I've used the iphone here and my buddy is using his right now.  The FT option in the phone settings says "Waiting for activation..." but I don't know why/how to fix it if that is the problem.  Desperate to talk to family so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Dave,
    I just had this very same problem but after research have found out why;
Go to setting> phone> faceTime/ turn it ON.
If this doesn't work, if restriction is enabled on your device then go to setting> general> restrictions> enter restriction code> faceTime/ set it on. I hope this helps!

  • TS3367 I have an iPhone 4 and it doesnt even have Facetime option in my settings.

I have an iPhone 4 and it doesnt even have Facetime option in my setting

Where did you purchase the phone? Certain Middle East countries have Facetime permanently removed from the devices. Otherwise, go to Settings, General, Restrictions, and see if Restrictions are turned on to prevent the use of Facetime. If restrictions are on, they need to be removed before you can access Facetime in Settings.

  • Iphone 4 gives no facetime option

where the facetime option should be is the hold button. whats the problem?

It needs to be activated in fact: go to Settings, Phone and make sure the FaceTime option is turned on. Activation should take several minutes.

Now, I tried putting this Qtel sim card on another Iphone 4 and the facetime works perfect.
I contacted QTel , Vodafone .. But all of them said, they are helpless.

    • iPhone 4 units with FaceTime disabled have the following model numbers: MC603AE and MC605AE for units sold in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar. MC603AB and MC605AB for units sold in Egypt (and Jordan once it’s available).
    • FaceTime works on iPhone 4 units running iOS 4.0.2 but if you update to iOS 4.1 FaceTime will be disabled on these phones.
    • FaceTime is available in Tunisia according to Apple Tunisie page.
    • iPhone 4 units imported from UK, Hong Kong, Canada etc have no issues with FaceTime. Carrier Settings do not disable FaceTime as far as we know.

But if face time was disabled, then it would not have worked on the occasion where he was successful (which he links to having had the Vodaphone sim present)
It is the case that some handsets are disabled in some regions, but the reason here seems to be much more prosaic, ie misunderstanding how facetime works in the first place.

  • FACETIME option missing

Hi there. I got my Iphone 4 and as I had a Iphone 3G, did a restore using ITunes. However, I have lost the ability to enable Facetime. If I do a restore of my IP4 as New Phone, it is there. How can I enable this?

I have the same problem. I bought a new iPhone 4 from apple and set it up with a restore from my 3gs backup which had been updated to iOS4. I have no option to turn facetime on in >settings>phone. I have tried a couple of forums solutions with no fix yet. I have tried to >settings>general>reset>reset all settings. I have also soft reset the phone with Sleep/wake and home together for 10 seconds. Finally another one said to start a retore then cancel mid download followed by a sync but still no joy! My next step is set up as a new phone which I beleive will be the preverbial sledge hammer to crack a walnut. If anybody could help before I reort to this step it would be much appreciated so I won't lose sms's.

  • Hi I bought a factory unlocked phone from Dubai but I'm using it in india. But it still doesn't have FaceTime option in settings . is there a way to get FaceTime on my phone without jail breaking .. Pla help guys

Bought my iPhone 4 from Dubai even though it's a factory unlocked phone I don't have a FaceTime button in setting so I'm wondering is there anyway I can get the FaceTime with out jail breaking my device it's working on iOS 4.3.5 , I read so much about getting it after u jailbreak Ur phone u get FaceTime but can I get it with out jail breaking my device as I'm using it in india please reply guys

iPhones purchased in the UAE do not have FaceTime installed and FaceTime will not appear regardless of where the phone is taken.
Jailbreaking will void your warranty with Apple, may permanently render your phone unusuable, and will eliminate the possibility of getting help from Apple or its forums including this one.
If you want FaceTime on an iPhone, sell that phone and purchase one from one of the authorized iPhone dealers in India.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to help you if you start a thread by cursing at and berating the people from whom you want help.
Where did you purchase your phone? What is the model number? What troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you checked to make sure that it hasn't been disabled in Restrictions?

  • The FaceTime app doesn't show up on the home screen. When i go to settings to enable FaceTime even then the FaceTime option doesn't show up. How do i get this fixed?

    help!!!!

    Hello aalifaa,
The information detailed below can help you locate Facetime.
If you can't use FaceTime or find the FaceTime app, follow these steps. FaceTime might not be available, or might become unavailable, on devices purchased or used in certain countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Check your device's region of purchase for more information.
In Settings > General > Restrictions, make sure FaceTime and Camera are on. Disabling Camera also disables FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
    Restore your device:
Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase all user data from your device.
When complete, set up your device by selecting your region and language, then restore your data using the iCloud or iTunes backup. When you set up and restore a backup from iTunes, make sure that your computer's language, country, date, and time are set correctly.
If you still can't find the FaceTime app, see if you can go to Settings > FaceTime. If Settings > FaceTime is present, try using the Spotlight Search to find the FaceTime app.
