No Fax Detected

My fax keeps printing a No fax detected report several times a day.  I have read that I need to go into advanced setting and turn off private fax but I do not have that option.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @thegoodwins ,
I read about the fax report printing out for you and not being able to turn off this option. Please let me know which printer model you have and I will check out the options for you!
How Do I Find My Model Number?

  • Fax Detect help, PLEASE! :)

I'm looking to configure fax detect on the UC 520.
I can get listen-first to work for faxes only. After 9 seconds, or when I press any key...the call is disconnected.
If I confgure it for connect-first, the line just rings... never answers.
    Config is attached.
PLEASE let me know what's missing ... I had this working a while back, and I don't remember what I needed to do.
    I've also tried
    app_fax_detect.2.1.2.2.tcl and
    app_fax_detect.2.1.2.3.tcl
    Same issue.
    THANK YOU !!
    Greg

    Hey Gregory,
I was looking at your configuration and found that app is applied on FXO port. Can you please send me following from the UC520
    show ver
    show run
    show flash
Also I would like you to enable following debugs and make a test call
    debug voip ccap inout
    debug voip vtsp all
    debug vpm signal
    debug voip application all
    debug fax mta all
Please make sure that you are collecting the debugs on buffer and not on console.

  • FAX Detection Application for a MGCP Gateway

    Hi,
I have an MGCP Gateway and a Right Fax Solution along with CUCM. Was wondering if FAX detection application can be configured for this setup or is FAX detection only for H323 gateways.
    Thanks

It uses TCL script, so it is not available with MGCP.

  • Fax detect settings mx459

Hi, has anyone else had issue with fax detect settings on these units?  I set it up to automatically detect which it will do, unfortunately it also squeals upon every single call you take about ten seconds into it....I either can bear with that or disable it to manual in which i miss all the faxes i get unless i notice them coming in....I also have an answering machine on this phone line just  for more info.   Anyone have any luck getting it set up to receive without the annoyances while talking on normal calls?  Tried every different combination of setting on the device, followed the instructions in the manual and it still does the squealing when i take calls unless i put it on manual reception...

    Hello mansfileddairy,
Setting the User-Friendly RX setting of the printer to ON may resolve the issue you are experiencing.  To do this, please follow these steps:
Make sure that the machine is turned on.
Press the FAX button.  The Fax standby screen is displayed.
Press the Menu button.  The FAX menu screen is displayed.
Use the  button to select Receive mode set, then press the OK button.
Use the  button to select the TEL PRIORITY receive mode, then press the OK button.  The confirmation screen asking whether to make advanced settings is displayed.
Use the  button to select Yes, then press the OK button.
Use the  button to select USER FRIENDLY RX, then press the OK button.
Use the  button to specify the ON setting, then press the OK button.  The LCD returns to the Fax standby screen after you finish specifying all settings.
    Hope this helps!

Break boot to rommon using serial console, boot IOS from TFTP, copy new IOS to flash, and go from there.
Or boot ignoring config, again from rommon.

  • Detect Fax Tone on FXO & Route to FXS?

Can the UC320W detect a fax tone on an FXO line and automatically route that call to the FXS port?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Wenjin (Wendy),
I have three (3) dedicated FXO lines for voice and one (1) FXO line dedicated and directly connected to the Fax machine.
I was trying to get a little adventurous and see if I could utilize all four FXO lines into the UC320W and the phone service provider's hunt function to use, in the event of a 4th incoming voice call, the fax phone number (4th FXO line) thus getting a much better utilization factor on that 4th FXO line.  This would only work if the UC320W could be configured to detect a fax tone on that 4th FXO line and subsequently direct it to the FXS port where the fax machine could be connected.
Essentially, I was hoping to be able to utilize all FXO lines to their "full capacity".  As you know very few people send faxes anymore (mostly scan attachments to emails) resulting in two things: a) my dedicatated FXO fax line rarely ever gets used (poor payout); and, b) as the business grows and I could use that 4th FXO line, I can't so I'm forced into a different phone service provider connection type (SIP?).
Do you know if Cisco is considering a FXO to FXS fax detection and direction functionality modification to the firmware (if hardware permissible of course)?
    Ever so much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Fax to Email using the Same DID (Auto Detect) Cisco 2911 GW

Have a Customer that is wanting a Call into a DID that will Auto Detect the Fax tone and email that particular fax User's Email address using the same DID as their phone.
The system we are installing is CUCM 10.X and CUC 10.X on a UCS C220.  They have PRI's.
    * For Unity Connection to do this, it requires a Fax Server as far as we know.  We read that Cisco had a Feasable method Natively on CUC, but nothing real concrete as to the steps to get that working without a Fax Server.
    * For an IOS gateway to perform Fax detection, there is a 9 Second Call Delay (Major inconvenience) that must process before delivering the call as either Voice or Fax.  This would be for 90 user's, which could be an issue.
What would need to be done in the Gateway to get this working if we went the Native method?
     Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

I've never done this natively in CUC.  Here's a guide that covers how to do it with the Fax server integration if that helps:

  • Unit cannot detect incoming fax signal

I have separate fax line. Am using HP M127fn. I can send faxes but cannot receive. Report prints out with Result - No Fax Detected.
When I run tax text the top 4 indicators all say 'Pass'
The report that shows all the currrent fax settings indicates 'Block Faxes' = On. Is that the issue? If so, how do I change that setting?
    Normano

    Hello @normano,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're unable to receive faxes using Laserjet M127fn. I will do my best to assist you! Has anything recently changed on your fax line? I also need to find out what exactly is on this phone line. Could you please list everything on this post.
Is the fax cord plugged into 1-line or 2-ext at the back of your printer. I would recommend following this entire HP document on Cannot Send or Receive Faxes.
Leaving the block faxes on is fine. If you setup this feature, it will keep blocking numbers you put in the printer. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!

  • Fax not able to send or receive

I have the Laserjet Pro 200 Color MFP printer which I use wireless, and it has been working fine unil now. When sending, I get the "no fax detected, no fax received" and when sending a fax i hear the ringing but it never connects, no answer. I have uninstalled and re-installed, checked the phone line, changed small settings but nothing is working. I did a fax test and everything PASSED, I did a network test and everything is working there as well. There are 2 phone lines, one is a dedicated fax line only, and the other line does have a voicemail system by Verizon, but only the fax line is connected to the printer which goes directly into the wall jack. Both phone lines work and have a dial tone. So, any help on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You.

  • A T1 that DOESN'T pass DNIS with a Fax line on it

I have a customer that has purchased a CME with a T1 card that I am cutting over tomorrow night and their existing didtal T1 is somewhat of a hybrid "1FB" in the fact that it has 9 numbers that hunt off of a main number and, in this mix of numbers there is an additional number that allows "back-door" calls inbound outside of the hunt. They also have a fax line on this "trunk" that, when calls come in, a fax tone is applied by the CO. This is pretty rare and I am having difficulty in how to go about trimming out the fax line and extra line. Do I have to pin down the carrier to determine which "1FB" is assigned to which channel on the T1? Also, what is the best way to configure this. I was thinking the only way to separate is to create separate DS0 groups, such as:
    ds0-group 0 timeslots 1-9 type
    ds0-group 1 timeslots 10 type
    ds0-group 2 timeslots 11 type
    ..and so on....
But, am I on the right track here and, if I set it up like this, can I still allow the fax line to be separate if no DNIS is being sent by the carrier. (OH YEAH...I forgot.....the existing MUX the customer is using is an old Adit 600!)
    Please help me out, folks!
    Thanks.

You must write your own VoiceXML document that implements fax detection. Cisco does not provide a VoiceXML script that you can download. Refer URL for more information
