Yosemite does not have a floating cpu window?
What happened to the floating cpu window option in 10.10?
I'm trying to display the green vertical CPU activity bars, looks like that feature was dropped - am I missing something?

Utility monitor floating CPU usage goes off the screen

Hi all,
The "Floating CPU Window" (+4) component of the Utility Monitor has decided to place itself in a spot which I can't seem to get to. I think this happened when I plugged my laptop into a projector, changed the screen resolution to match the projector, disconnected the projector and changed the resolution back. (I was giving a presentation, long story, I don't think more details are relevant).
When I hide and show the window it remains in the same place. When I use expose to show all windows it floats into view, but floats out again when I select it. Is there a keystroke to manually move a window like in MS Windows? Is there some value that someone knows of in some folder somewhere that stores the current screen position that I could reset manually?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just make sure Activity Monitor isn't running, then search for its preferences file "com.apple.ActivityMonitor.plist". It should be in a folder called "Preferences" in another folder called "Library", inside your "Home" folder. Drag the "plist" file onto your desktop and restart Activity Monitor. You should be back to the default window layout for that app.
That's the easiest way to fix it, anyway.

Is there a way to open an image in a floating, resizable window?

In previous versions of PDE I could open an image (or for that matter, multiple images) as floating, resizable windows. Now, images seem anchored. How can I detact them from the big editing screen, such that I can move them around the computer screen as I could in the past?

Then check the box “Allow Floating Documents in Full Edit Mode”

Floating inspector window?

What happened to the floating inspector window? Is there anyway to get this feature back in the latest Pages?

Because Pages 5 was knocked up in great haste and they have appalling or no Quality Control.
The new design fashion at Apple is to get rid of floating Inspectors and imitate Windows instead.
They don't seem to have anyone independently checking their work. I found it within minutes of opening Pages 5.
Apple likes to spring its surprises on its users, unfinished, document trashing, bugs and all.

Need to open all files in "Float in Window" option

Does anyone where the setting is so that when I open up a file instead of it opeining in full screen, it floats the image (ie. Window, Arrange, Float in Window)?
I have looked everywhere...thank you for your help!

In photoshop cs4 or cs5, Edit>Preferences>Interface and uncheck
Open Documents as Tabs.
If you don't use/like the tabs, you may want to uncheck
Enable Floating Document Window Docking also.

RealPlayer can cause conflicts with Flash Player because it tries to assign EVERY TYPE of video or audio file to itself by default. I haven't used RealPlayer in years for that reason. It's an unnecessary program anymore. There are apps loike VLC media player that cna do EVERYTHING it does without conflicting with other apps like Flash Player.
With WIndows 8, Microsoft began embedding FlashPlayer themselves into Internet Explorer. Because of that, you cannot download and install it from here. You cannot uninstall it from Internet Explorer without removing a specific Windows Update first. And you cannot update it via this website. ONLY through Windows Update can Flash Player for Internet Explorer be updated.
That said, you probably DON'T have a virus that's causing the problems with Flash Player and Internet Explorer. Many, many websites are not "recognizing" the browser.
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released IE11 The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player.
So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

PSE 10 Float in Windows

I'm no longer able to select "Float in Windows" or Float All in Windows". These items don't activate; they remain dark. I can see only one image at a time now. Any ideas on how to get it back?

Hi,
I'm looking for an explanation of my CPU Windows Experience Index which is limited to 3,4.
I've read some topics which linked this low index to the battery (for example here : http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x121e-ThinkPad-Windows-Experince-Index-Low-pro...)
But... With or Without the battery, with or without the AC adaptator plugged, the CPU WEI is always 3,4.
Does anyone have the same problem ?

I would suggest you try a 90w adaptor, we know that you don't have I7 processor so your issue isn't exactly what was in the forum thread you linked too and I read. Yet the same holds to you that any computer that thinks it has less power it will clock itself down to conserver power.

I am struck with a know Bug 3092358 "Repeating Job Can Hang In "Started" Status On Multi-Cpu Windows Machine". The Work around is mentioned in Note:307448.1 in metalinks.
In the above doc for the Fix-3 Another option that worked is to try:
Upgraded to EM 9.2.0.6 and applied the Apr05 CPU.
I searched in metalinks to get patch to upgrade EM from 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.6. But not able to find can some tell me where can i get this patch.
OS: windows 2003 server
DB:9.2.0.1
OWB :9.2

While I dunno the specifics of NT threads, one way to spread 1 thread across multiple processors is by simply round robining the thread between the processors over time. i.e. Thread A spends 0.5seconds executing on cpu 1, for the next 0.5 s the thread is moved over to cpu2 and executed there, then it is moved back to cpu1 and so on...
I think the Convex SPP used this model, the motivation perhaps being to spread load evenly among all cpus. Made sense in a multi-user multi-cpu system with a real fast bus.

How can I make floating options windows behave like probe windows in LV 5.0?

Hello all,
I'm trying to use subVI's as small floating windows that appear and disappear on command. These windows provide access to controls that trigger functions in the calling VI.
I've already achieved this by calling the subVI's (which are set to be front most) continuously in the main loop when I want to see their front panels and then closing them when I don't want to see them using the close function in victl.llb.
This works, but there are some problems. The title bars of the floating front panels flash continuously when there is more than one panel open and if two panels overlap then the overlapping regions flash. Also, when I operate controls on the calling V
I (window maximized), the floating panels disapear. I also tried using invoke and property nodes with the same results.
I realize that this is because only one panel can be in front at any one time, so while calling them in a loop keeps them visible it also makes them flash and disappear behind the calling VI when I click on it.
Is there any solution to this? Is this addressed in LV 6i?
What I really need is for those floating windows to act like probe indicators. Is this possible?
I would greatly appreciate any help.

There's an utility called LVWUTIL32 at http://zone.ni.com/devzone/explprog.nsf/6c163603265406328625682a006ed37d/ebf11dd1f0feaef3862566790072a983/ that has a vi to make a window topmost, with one difference, if you execute it once, the window will be topmost even if you click in the window under it, and it will be so until you revoke this option with another VI. In my system, no flashes were detected.

For my company's product catalog, I'm looking to make a floating window with the catalog's index on it that stays with you as you scroll down. Imagine a two page spread where the page on the right is much smaller and holds its position on your screen as you scroll through, so you always have a quick way to navigate without adding bulk to each individual page. Is this possible? If not, I would settle for an "index" button on every page that pops a little window up when you click it. I know it's possible to make something hidden, and its visibility is tied to another button, but it seems like it can only show things on the page itself, but I would much prefer a tiny popup window off to the side of the page.

Maximizing a floating document window makes the entire UI inaccessible

On Windows 7, with Photoshop CS6, if you drag a document tab out of the main application window, it becomes a floating document with its own window controls for minimize, maximize, and close just like a normal Windows OS document should. However, if you click the maximize window button, instead of maximizing within the primary application window like document windows are supposed to... the Photoshop document window expands to the full screen and covers up all user interface elements of the primary Photoshop application window. This makes all user interface elements completely inaccessible. Pressing the tab key will not show your tools like you'd expect, though shortcut keys still work.
The only way to get the user interface back is to restore the document window to a smaller size. If this is a feature, what would it be used for? Why do document windows in CS6 need to behave differently from the normal behavior of application and document windows on the Windows operating system?

If Adobe were to make the document "maximize" into the application window, there would no doubt be people who want to see it on the whole screen and are used to the way it works in Photoshop CS5 who would be upset. Plus, that's just not what the Maximize button on a window is supposed to do.
Your workaround is to avoid the Maximize button entirely and use the right-click Fit on Screen function (which really fits to document to the application window) or the keyboard equivalent - Control 0.

You do NOT have to purchase anything twice. You can share the music with as many ipods as you like in your household.
The ipods are designed to sync with your computer regularly. You should have been syncing these other ipods with your computer all along, thus transferring the purchases to your computer where that music can be synced to as many ipods as you like.
Take on of the ipods with the music in it. Open itunes on your computer. Plug in the ipod. Do not sync. Click File>Transfer Purchases This will transfer the purchases from the ipod to the computer. Make sure that you have authorized your account on the computer: here are directions for that. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420
Unplug the ipod.
Plug in the other ipod with purchased music. Do not sync. Click File>Transfer Purchases This will transfer purchases from the ipod to the computer.
You can now plug in any of the ipods, select what you want to sync and sync.

I work on Mac and CS6. My inactive images float BEHIND Photoshop, forcing me to minimize PS to access these windows. How do I get these inactive images to stay on top where I can easily access them
