No Free/Busy Information for Exchange 2010 users in Outlook 2010 client, 2010 OWA shows this information fine

I have looked for hours and hours on Google and this web site for this type of issue and nothing seems to help.
Problem:
On my new Windows 2008 R2 /Exchange 2010 server with IIS7 installed, I can use Outlook 2010 client to login and send and receive e-mail but when I try to busy search internal Exchange users I get no information (cross-hatch), but the sender of the Meeting Request
can see their own free/busy information fine.  And OWA users can see free/busy information fine, as can Outlook 2003 client users against this Exchange 2010 server when logged in.
I don't know if I have a certificate problem with regard to IIS7 or Exchange 2010, I did not create my own certificate , it is just what was installed by default when I installed and configured Win2K8 server, IIS7 and Exchange.
On the Windows 7 workstations with Outlook 2010 client, I am not logging into the Exchange 2010 server DNS domain, if that makes any difference.  On these workstations I can ping "autodiscover.my.exchange.server.com" and my.exchange.server.com
with no problem.  I even used this Microsoft KB to install a new _autodiscover dns entry, but it did not help :
When I turn on logging on my Outlook 2010 client, I see this in my C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\1\outlook logging\20131208-135658864-fb.log :
2013/12/08 13:56:58.864: Getting ASURL

Hi,
How many users encounter this issue, all users with Outlook 2010 or some specific users?
According to your post, the Error code 600 indicates that your Autodiscover service is working well. as for the certificate mismatch issue, we can also following the KB below to resolve it:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726/en-us
The Free/Busy information in Exchange 2010 is using the Availability service to
retrieve it. Please directly access
https://mail.mydomain.ae/EWS/Exchange.asmx in IE and see whether a proper XML file is returned.
 Or we can go to
https://testexchangeconnectivity.com and check MS Exchange Web Services Connectivity Tests.

  • Free/Busy not working Exchange 2007 and 2013 co-existence

    Hi,
I'm migrating our Exchange 2007 environment to Exchange 2013. Now I am in a co-existence environment where all the mailboxes except some test-users resides on Exchange 2007. Between Users on the same Exchange MBX Server athe FREE/BUSY Information sharing
works correctly, but between Exchange 2007 and 2013 it's not working.
I verified my settings and also the EWS virtual directory on 2007 CAS Servers using Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory.
The internal and the external URLs are set to https://legacy.mydomain.com/....
    What am I missing?
    Thanks & Kind Regards,
    Jürgen

    Hi,
According to your description, I understand that the free/busy information between Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013 is not available for your coexistence environment. To narrow down the issue, please check the following points:
    1. Does the issue happen to all users or specific users?
    2. Although a user on Exchange 2013 can't get free/busy information from a user on Exchange 2007, please confirm whether Exchange 2007 user can get free/busy information from Exchange 2013 users.
    3. Close Outlook and only access user mailbox from OWA to check whether the issue persists. For Outlook client,
    create a new Outlook profile
    to have a try.
    4. Please make sure the virtual directories settings are configured correctly in both Exchange 2013 and Exchange 2007.

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-2-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx
    5. Restart IIS service in Exchange server by running iisreset /noforce from a command prompt window.
If possible, please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration in Outlook to check whether the autodiscover service can get correct Availability service URL in the results. If there is any event logs, please collect some for further analysis.

  • Outlook 2010 User can't access free/busy info for one resource mailbox calendar

There are a couple posts that are similar, but I haven't been able to solve this one yet.
We just recently moved our conference room calendars from public folders to proper resource mailboxes. Aside from users not RTFM on how to use them the move has been fairly painless. Until now. I have one user that can't see the free/busy info on one of
the room calendars. Just one. We are using Exchange 2010 and he is on Outlook 2010. When he tries to view a meeting in the calendar he gets an error, "Cannot open this Item. Cannot open the free/busy information."
He has no problem opening meetings for that room on OWA, so it leads me to believe it involves some temp files or cached info on his machine.
I tried using /CleanFreeBusy on his computer and it did not remedy the situation. I removed his profile and added it again which appeared to work, but five minutes later when I got back to my desk he could no longer open the meetings.
Any insight would be much appreciated. I admit I am an amateur when it comes to Exchange admin.

Remove and recreate the Outlook profile from their machine? I did this and it worked for a few minutes.
By resetting his profile do you mean removing his profile from the machine and recreating it after backing up all his user data?

  • Free/Busy Error from Exchange Online Cloud Mailbox to on-premise

Hi, have a successful federation configured between Exchange 2010 SP3 (latest Roll up) and Office 365. This is to allow free/busy lookups during various migration stages (this is not Exchange Hybrid). Autodiscover works well and all functions work ok.
On-premise users can see cloud users free/busy
Cloud users cannot see on-premise users free/busy.
All local based free/busy works on-premise and in the cloud.
The Exchange Connectivity tool returns the below error from all accounts, this is the only error:
(A wildcard certificate is in use and am wondering if this could be contributing to the problem as I have seen this once before)

Any help or guidance would be appreciated as this is the only error we receive now and everything else works.
    Kind Regards, Antonio.

Yep, indeed it does, except the password works when carrying out an autodiscover test, when testing free/busy that error appears. Lookups for free/busy work from on-premise to cloud, cloud to on-premise does not work unless you explicitly allow permissions
on a user basis. The on-premise Exchange 2010 SP3 environment is using an external wildcard cert and thought this could be causing the issue, may consider updating to SAN based. What do you think?

  • Free/busy sharing using Exchange federation

We run Exchange 2010 and one of our business partners is running in Office 365. We would like to share free busy across our two organizations. Is it setup feasible,
    1. We setup a federation trust with the MFG.
    2. We setup an org relationship with them, they setup a org relationship with us with appropriate free busy parameters.
Most of the documentation I see is about a hybrid setup for the SAME organization. Here we are two completely separate organizations. Any documentation/links to real-world implementation would be much appreciated.

  • Entourage 2008 & iCal sync inaccurate free / busy status for events

On a campus using Exchange 2007, I am using Entourage 2008 and sync to iCal 3.0.2 (Leopard) via Sync Services in Entourage's preferences. Both Exchange 2007 and Entourage 2008 have only been installed in the last two months.
I have found that events which I mark as "free" in Entourage 2008 are changed to "busy" after a sync with iCal. The free / busy status is correct when the sync with Exchange takes place, but the status is incorrectly changed to busy every time the iCal sync takes place.
I need to put campus events, co-worker planned absences, and similar things on my calendar, but these items need to remain as "free" so that I can be scheduled during those times. This all worked correctly with Entourage 2004 and the older version of Exchange.
Does anyone know how to correct this behavior so that the free / busy status is not changed with a sync to iCal?

    Sue,
Wish I could offer some good advice, but the easy syncing of iCal and Entourage 2008 so far has been impossible if not a nightmare.
When you go to import in Entourage and iCal is NOT listed as "another application", we are in HUGE trouble.
A real shame that in today's world of "New Media" and PDA's like iPhones and Blackberry that the two billionaires from Apple and MS did not provide us with easy and simple export/import/sync tools.
Maybe they should rename Office 2008 to Office 1984

    Hi,
Tuxedo is unable to make any HTTPS calls other than SOAP/HTTPS. So if you are using web services, then SALT can perform SOAP/HTTPS calls, although I don't believe we support the message signing feature of WS-Security (although you might want to check the SALT 10gR3 or later documentation.)
We are considering adding support for HTTP/HTTPS directly in Tuxedo, but that feature is not available in any current version of Tuxedo. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

  • Best small business switch for 100-300 user UC deployments

    Hello,
The SMART Designs state that both the ESW500 and 300-series switches should not be used for deployments of over 100 IP phones.
But now that both the UC560 can go up to 138 (128 IP phones) and the BE3000 can go up to 300 users is this design restriction still valid or is the Catalyst 2960 and above the only options?
The QPT is still showing both the 300- and ESW500  switches as options for all versions of the UC560, and the 300- and 2960  switches are shown as valid options in the LAN for the BE3000.
    Thanks.

    Hi All,
I would agree with the folks at smartdesign, but for a very differerent reason as suggested by kmacpherson..
But think about the Business Edition 3000 (BE3000) and how it's supported.  BE3000 is supported by the traditional Cisco TAC that also supports the catalyst 2960S etc....
The 300 series switch is supported by the wonder folk at the  Small Business Support Center (SBSC) .
300 series of switches are generations ahead of the ESW switch in terms of switch silicon/features/GUI/supported CLI/IPv6 support  etc..it is a tremendous switch series..
From my perspective, even though there is now a lot of dialogue between TAC and SBSC these days, it sorta makes a lot of sense in my mind to position Catalyst switches  in conjunction with  BE3000 for your end users,  and 300 series small business switches as a lower cost alternative.
This will mean there will be pretty seamless TAC support for a BE3000,  catalyst, ISRG2 solution.
    regards Dave

  • Information For Asha 501 Users

    Hello friends,
Many of Asha users are just complaining regarding the PUSH NOTIFICATION option in FACEBOOK app.
The fact is here that facebook for every phone has push notification app once.
But as of now its not supported. This is not only the reason "Few FB accounts have this option, dont know why, for few reasons best known to FACEBOOK team.
    Just check this LINK

"Help instructions for "feature phones" include help for all feature phones that use the mobile browser to access Facebook's mobile site.
So if you access m.Facebook.com via the browser of android, it will be called a feature phone as well.
The app perfectly supports push notifications, but Facebook due to some reason is not enabling them for all the accounts. Older accounts have better chances of having such options than the newly created ones.
