No Front Panel Output/SPDIF input settin

I just frankentstein'd my X-FI Platinum out of an old 32-bit platform along with the software, network adapters, OS (Windows XP Pro-32 bit). I've got 2 gb ram, a total of .32 tb of HD space, a Q6600, an nForce 680i sli mobo, and a 850 watt psu. My speaker system is a Logitech Z5500 that was also hooked up to my last system. Aside from the mobo, ram, and processor, all things have remained the same. My problem is that I can't get the optical output of the front panel to work. I tried removing the card and placing it in the other PCI slot, but it still didn't work. I tried re-setting the cables to make sure that I didn't screw up when I placed them, still nothing. The red light on the other end of the cable is clearly visible. My Z5500 console still says "No Digital Data" when I set it to optical. Also, the SPDIF input settings in the Creative Audio Console is greyed out. I can't select it. What am I doing wrong here? It worked perfectly in the other system, and I didn't break it when I moved it.

Hi Dutu,
I agree there are 3 CDs in all. One is called the Install CD. The other 2 are called Software CD 1 of 2 and Software CD 2 of 2.
I did not use the Install CD at all. I started from from SW CD 1 of 2, because I wanted to dual boot with my old OS. I maybe wrong, but my impression was that if you start from the Install CD, it will take over the whole disk and destroy your previous OS. While the SW CD will give you the chance to do an interactive install. I agree it's confusing, beause Software CD gives you the impression that it contains only applications and not the OS. I don't know why SUN chose to call them S/W CDs, while they also contain the OS.

  • Setting up position of front panel objects using input from file

I am working on a project and i have got the following query.
i have a front panel with lot of objects like knobs, dials, push buttons etc..
the entire panel will be the console to the user and as he changes the various
positions of the objects their values will be written in to a file.
now after a days work when the system is restarted again the next day
the values of various objects should be read from the file and the front panel objects should be set in their position according to it
in short the objects(knobs, buttons etc) should both act as o/p i.e when user interacts with them and they should also act as i/p when their position will be set from
    file.
how can i achieve this.any help regard
ing this would be greatly appreciated

You should separate the read portion of this vi from the write portion of the vi. You want to execute the read portion of the vi only at startup and the write portion of the vi only at shutdown. So you'll be reading the file and writing the output to the property nodes, running your program, and then taking the value of the controls and writing to file. I have attached an example of how this might work. You might also do this with a state machine structure to control the data flow.
    Hope that helps

  • XFI Xtrememusic Optical SPDIF input problem

    Hi everyone,
I am unable to utilise the optical input of the XFI to decode Dolby Digital / DTS streams.
    Setup:
PS3 to Creative Digital I/O dongle via optical cable.
Creative Digital I/O to XFI Xtrememusic via provided connector.
PS3 playing a DVD with both DD and DTS soundtracks.
    Problem:
No sound at all, no matter whether I choose DD or DTS.
If I set my PS3 to output only PCM audio, there is stereo sound heard, so I can confirm the physical connections are good.
I am unable to select any "SPDIF Input Settings" options in either the Creative Audio Console's "SPDIF I/O" tab or the Creative Volume Panel's "Digital I/O" section.
. Audio Console's drop-down list is greyed out and not selectable.
    2. Volume Panel's "SPDIF Input Settings" drop-down list is not even visible. (i.e. there is nothing displayed to the right of "Digital Output Sampling Rate")
Steps taken to try to resolve issue:
. Checked Creative Website for latest drivers and applications and installed them.
    2. Tried to follow the electronic guide/manual but could not choose "SPDIF Bypass" due to the missing "SPDIF Input Settings" option.
The online flash tutorial (Beginner's Guide -> Digital I/O) shows these settings but it is just empty for me on my computer.
Can anyone please tell me how I can get my Xtrememusic to decode DD/DTS via optical input? I've searched everywhere and found no answers. Thanks in advance!

  • Audigy 2 ZS Platinum front panel under VISTA

I've got the card and front panel installed and apparently working, except one issue. I'm trying to pipe in sound from a stereo receiver to the front panel auxiliary 2 inputs, so I can listen to a sporting event(broad cast on AM) over my pc and record it. When I turn on the receiver and hook it up, I hear nothing. When I start the recording software and record, it records from the auxiliary 2 perfectly and I can hear the broadcast fine on playback. So, the question is, why can't I hear it li've over my speakers?!?! Extroadinarily frustrating! VISTA has no volume control display(that I could find) like XP did where I could check the auxiliary 2 levels, etc.
Again, I'm running VISTA Ultimate 64 bit and have the most current Creative sound drivers installed and all other sounds from within programs seem to be working 00%.
    Thanks for any help!

Nothing huh? Nobody has any idea about this or knows of another thread where this question was answered?
Thanks in advance if you can help out!

  • MOVED: K8t neo fir front panel sound out?

This topic has been moved to AMD64 ATI/SiS/VIA based board.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=117772.0
    Was in the wrong board.

Yes they need to be on if front panel is not connected as mentioned in the manual or you will not have have output at the rear connection. If front panel is connected you should have rear panel output if nothing is plugged in on the front panel output.
The jack acts as a switch, nothing plugged in, output to rear which will be the same as if jumpers were on.

  • X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional - Front panel compatibility

? Is the front panel from an Audgy 2ZS Platinum compatible with the X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Professional?
I already have the 2ZS with front panel and do not want to have to buy the champion to get front panel outputs from the Fatalty.

C no the two are totally different. The older one uses a 40 Pin IDE style cable, the newer uses two smaller cables.
I am like you, and wish I could have used my older nicer looking bays with my X-FI Titanium, but all things must change.

  • How to create a front panel display that lights up with different colours depending on its input signal?

I am doing a project where I have this array which has different voltage outputs for each grid. How do I create a front panel object that lights up with different colours depending on the voltage input or is there already such a pre-built function?
In addition, I wish to display these in an array on screen. Is there any pre-built function for this?

The simplest way would be an intensity graph. It gives you a 2D grid where each grid point is colored according to the value of a 2D array. The Z axis color ramp determines the color.
My second choice would be an array of colorboxes. (They could even be made to look like LEDs (see image, if course you can leave them square too), All you need is a scaling function thap maps voltages into a color ramp lookup table with an 8bit index)
(Using booleans and color property nodes is relatively clumsy. Booleans are meant for two states because the value is boolean. Since array elements can only differ in value, and not in properties, it will not even work. Color boxes have a color data type which is much more appropriate for this case)

  • HP Pavillion HPE-510f, Windows 7, 64 bit with front panel A/V RCA inputs

When i connect devices thru the AV inputs on the front panel, I cannot find an application that recognizes the device. For example, JVC Camcorder so i can playback or just playing music thru these inputs.  Is there  a driver that needs installling?

    Hi Hodgewaco,
As indicated in the title, the front A/V RCA and s-video are input ports.  To use those ports with your videocam you are going to need a capture program.  ROXIO has commercial programs that should work with those input ports but check with ROXIO Sales.  Usually ROXIO has a 30 trial period so if you are not satisfied the your can get a refund.  Be sure to inform ROXIO about the exact model of camera that you are using, the output connection type and the format of the video stream.

  • I created boolean references in my main vi block diagram and copied them to my sub vi front panel. when wire my reference in my main vi to one the input node of the sub vi the wire is broken. the error says its a class conflict why?

i created boolean references in my main vi block diagram and copied them to my sub vi front panel. when wire my reference in my main vi to one the input node of the sub vi the wire is broken. the error says its a class conflict why?

    Expanding and clarifying what BJD said;
After you create the temporary sub-VI that BJD mentioned, open its front panel and copy the reference control that LV created when it created the sub-VI.
This reference control will be correct class etc that you need. Use the control to replace the original control that you were attempting to wire up.
The technique of "create sub-VI...copy" always works for me.
There is one more thing that you should watch out for.
The mechanical action of the boolean can not be set for latch action when attempting to read the value using a value property node.

  • Analog output to the DAQ that changes when controls on the front panel change

I'm using the PCI-6024E, and trying to output an analog waveform that can change when one of the two controls on the front panel change. It outputs fine setting it to continuous output and using a simple while loop around the "Is Task Done" VI, but if I put the "Write" VI in the while loop, it doesn't output steadily. I then tried to use an event structure, so that I'd only have to write every time something on the front panel changes, but for some reason it was writing finite samples, even though I set the Timing VI to continuous. I looked around the NI site, and found an article about this with an example. I tried to change it around to use my waveform, but whenever I run it, I get a memory underflow error. Has anyone needed to do this before? Thanks in advance.
    -- Josh Matloff

    Hi Josh-
It looks like you forgot to post the code still, but I'll take a stab at the problem anyway. It sounds like you're looking for a way to update a continuous waveform at runtime.
You will need to stop the task in order to replace the write buffer information, but this will only be a small gap in operation. I have attached a modified LabVIEW shipping example that shows how to use value change events for any of the pertinent waveform parameters to either programmatically stop the task, replace the buffer, set timing and restart or to just pass the task information straight through. This will lead to continuous operation with no breaks at the output.
Please let us know if this clears up your questions.

  • Show Front Panel form VGA output of CVS

I have built a stand-alone Real-Time Application on my CVS by following the method in ‘RT_Getting_Started.pdf’ file, and I think it is successful (because the ‘startup.rtexe’ file is already created in the startup folder in CVS). I was set the application file as a startup.
Is it possible to show a Front Panel of Real-Time Application (Startup program) from a VGA output of CVS without using any PC?  I want to use only CVS and Monitor (from VGA output).

    hello MFarid,
    Thank you for your post.
It is only possible to show some images and counters on the VGA output of an CVS. You will need a graphical operating system (like windows) to present the complete front panel of your VI. There are complete panel PC's (like PPC 2015 and PPC 2115) which are complete PC's with a touch screen.
If you want to make a simple user interface (only some buttons to control the CSV and some simple data presenting) a touch panel (Windows CE device) can be used. Please be aware that you need a Labview touch panel module to deploy to this kind of device. The simple user interface can communicate throug shared variables with your Labview application on the CVI.
So I'm sorry to say that with only a monitor and a CVS it isn't possible.
    Many greetings,

  • Chnaging input in a waveform graph from front panel in labview

    Hi !
I am working with temperature sensors; I have several sensors to read simultaneously.
I want to plot information from different sensors in different plots and have the option to change/select  the sensors in the a graph from front panel. For example, I have 8 sensors(please see the attachments_ front panel), A,B,C,D,E,F,G and M. Some time it could be possible that user want A,B,C in Tumor Graph or sometimes only A and B. That means the identity and the number of sensors could be changed in different times.
Now I connect only two sensors per graph (ref: block diagram) but the number and the sensors to be plotted in a certain graph can be changed, so How can I implement it ?
Any help or idea will be appreciated.

    Hi hasanma,
Well, you could expend the build array and add more inputs to it as shown below:
And individually select which sensor data the user wants to view as shown below:

  • How statechart can access front panel dynamic input

How can I get the value of a control (as set by the user) on a calling VI Front Panel to evaulate/use within a state Exit while loop in of a called StateChart?

I started with the async statechart example -- contains trigger loop and a statechart loop.  Inside the statechart loop there is a Run Statechart.  Also in this loop are my inputs to the Statechart. Everything is good so far. As each state is entered, the correct input is obtained.  Then I added a PID.vi inside a loop to one of the state action tabs.  When that particular state is entered and the PID loop runs, I no longer get updated input values.  I've tried to copy and reference the Inputs onto the action tab diagram to no avail.
I've attached my VI and lvsc for some hopeful assistance.

  • Problem with Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Input

0Problem with Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Input? Hey everyone,
Here's the background of the issue. I got a PS3 over the holidays for literally free
I had my computer out in a testbed style. Plugged the PS3 into my monitor HDMI --> DVI cable, and Red/White into the front RCA jacks of the Front Panel (Aux 2). As soon as I plugged in the cable, I got sound out of my speakers and was able to enjoy my PS3 in 720p
I put all of the components back into the case after cutting exhause and intake fan holes. I brought everything back to school, fired up the PC and PS3. Lo and behold, there is no more sound from the PS3. I know that PS3s are temperamental in moving, but I hooked the audio up to my TV and the sound came out just fine. The AD Ext cable looks like it's secure and in place. When I hooked up a mic and headphones to the front, they worked fine as well. However it seems to be just the AUX 2 RCA inputs that dont work anymore. Any ideas about how to fix this issue? Is there a function I have to turn on now in the software to allow sound to pass through? Any information would be wonderful!? I'm going to try an optical cable in the near future, just need to borrow one from a friend =/

    Problem Solved.
I had moved my cards around for better airflow. I moved the SB Audigy card from the bottom PCI slot to the top. Thinking this might be the problem, I moved the video card back to the top slot PCI-E and the sound card to the bottom PCI slot. Sound is now working again. Thanks for the thread views?:smileytongue:
Think that when I have to buy Win 7 for real if the problem would still persist if I moved the card again? Or is this a hardware limitation?

  • Aud2 ZS platnm I get I/O from front panel, but no output from REAR OF CA

I had a Audigy2 in my Dell, worked fine. I needed MORE I/O ports. I got a Audigy2 ZS platinum for the front panel (extra I/O) front panel works fine, sound card sounds fine, all is well - except I get no output from the back of the card. (certainly this isn't a "front OR rear" sort of thing?)
    About ready to return it.

I DO get digital output from the front and back (front panel on front of Dell) and back of card. I don't get ANALOG output from card. I thought I recall a selecti've click box in the software that said "digital only" where is that. (I HATE creatives software - SO MANY LITTLE UTIL PROGRAMS THAT DO LITTLE OR NOTHING EACH) you have to HUNT through them all to find the option you need.
