No full screen in my iPod!

I have converted couple avi- and other films in ACC-format (for iPod) but the problem is always the same: there is a black stripe (area) on the top of the screen and also a black stripe (area) on the bottom of the screen. The actual video is between the two stripes. The iPod screen is already too small and those stripes make is even smaller. Any chance to get rid of those black stripes and have a full screen video experience?

its called widescreen, and whatever program ur using is probably implementing the bars in order to conserve the ratio without cutting out the picture. what program are u using to convert your video?

Can't see photos full screen on my Ipod

You probably just upgraded to the 1.0.3 software. This is a bug with the upgrade via Apple. You need to resync the photos. Erase them and resync the same way to put them on your ipod classic the first time and after you do that, they will show up full screen. You only need to resync one time after the 1.0.3 update. Not sure why this happens, but many ipod owners (including myself) experienced this after the 1.0.3 update and it was the only logical reason for all of our ipods suddenly not showing photos. After the resync, all is good again.

Is it possible to see Podcasts 'Full Screen' on the iPod?

I've subscribed to the New Yorker Cartoons podcast which has animated cartoons with sound. The visual is a small cartoon on the iPod screen and a larger amount of screen area taken underneath on the screen with the 'playing scroll bar' showing. The playing scroll bar is unnecessary really, and it would be nice if you could see the cartoon larger or even full screen.
Are there settings to make this show larger?

Maybe Try playing the podcast from the video podcast folder, that might work.

DVD encoded with PQDVD converter is not full screen on iPod

I have just encoded a DVD with PQDVD iPod converter (www.pqdvd.com), it has an aspect ratio of 2:40:1.
I stretched the movie in pqdvd to 320X240.
Once finished when I watch it on my iPod it isnt full screen with black bars on top and bottom. I have tried the widescreen setting on and off on the iPod but nothing changes.
What have I done wrong? any ideas to make it fit to screen?
Also what is the best bitrate to encode at for movies for watching at iPod and TV viewing?

HT3798 On iPod 160gb - how can I view album art full screen like in the menu half screen or photo slideshows?

I remember responding to an apple customer satisfaction survey in 2009, when I purchased my iPod Classic. I suggested it should be possible to have album art viewed in full screen like in photo slideshows or how album art is presented on half the screen when the menu is navigated to the 'music' list. Does anyone know if apple has created an iPod Classic software update which includes this glaring omission?

The progress bar is not the iPod disconnecting from the PC but rather the iPod reading in the library database from it's hard drive. It's safe to disconnect when told to.

Apple Composite AV Cable: Full Screen from iPod to TV?

I'm looking at buying the Apple Composite AV Cable for my iPod Classic 120. I didn't want to purchase it before I knew if it would do what I want it to do.
Will it play TV shows, Videos, etc... full screen on my TV when plugged in?
Also, if I were to plug it into a 3rd party (Dynex) iPod dock, and plug the Apple Composite AV Cable into the 30pin port in back of the dock, would it still play on my TV?
And thirdly, with the above scenario in use, if I were to plug the USB end of the AV Cable into my computer, would it still play on my TV?

Your first question is yes. If you set the ipod to "fit to screen" then it will, as long as when you convert the file, the aspect ratio is set to the ipod screen size(320×240 pixels). If the software has that option.
I'm not sure about the connection for the dock you want to use, but with the 6th gen ipods a lot of 3rd party docks will not allow you to view video's through them because of something written into the ipod software. The one you want to use does not support the Classic. The only one I found was Apples own. But you can not use the menu button on the remote, so you can not change between films (unless in a play list) or change between films, music, photos or any other function of the ipod with out manually doing it yourself. The menu button is only to be used with Apple TV.
No to your third question. Your ipod is connected to the computer and even if you play the file from the pod in itunes, it will only show up on your monitor

Ipod Touch 5th Gen - Music videos contained in playlists don't display in full screen mode

I am using an Ipod Touch 5th Gen. I have music videos contained in different playlist that are utilized for a class where they are displayed on a large screen through a projector. When I playback the videos through the playlists, they don't appear in full screen mode. I didn't experience this issue with previous versions of the Touch. If I access the videos individually through the video icon, they display correctly.

IPOD video full screen display

Could anyone tell to me if I can get a video PODcast to play full screen video on a 5G video iPOD? I can get itunes to play it almost full screen on the computer display (Apple 20 inch LCD). I can size the screen to get a clear picture. Any such options on the iPOD?

The iSight is either 640x480 (older MBPs) or 1280x1024 (newer MBPs). Displaying it 'full screen' especially in an older MBP (which is what you have if you're posting in the correct forum) would result in a horribly pixelated image, not 'high resolution'. The apps that show the iSight feed are showing it at its native resolution, and that's a limitation of the hardware. If you need higher resolution, you can attach a higher resolution video camera (for example, my Panasonic DV camcorder connects via FireWire and can be used as a webcam).

Hi Jeff,
Sadly this is not possible, but a simple pinch on the artwork will shrink it back down, just like the back arrow does.

Full screen vertical scroller sometimes works, sometimes doesn't

Curious to know if anyone else has had this problem or there's some information that my elucidate this mystery:
Our publication ran a page with a full-screen vertical scrolling overlay today for the iPad. Inside of Viewer the folio flipped from page to page just fine, but once published we were unable to move between pages any longer once on this particular page. We've run full-screen vertical overlays before without incident and we're stumped to understand why the Viewer elicited no issues while the final publication did.
I put this question to you, Forum: Any thoughts?
