No GPRS Connection

Hi all, this is my first post as I have searched the forum for a possible answer to my problem but found none. Basically I upgraded to the N95 8g with Vodafone in order to run a mobile spread betting platform on the N95. The platform was downloaded to the phone and it works as I have tested it with my network at home.
The problem I have is that when I try to connect to the platform through the phone I get a message 'No GPRS connection available'!! This is despite being able to access the web through contract wap and run the sat nav. I'm tearing my hair out as it's now three weeks since I got the platform on the phone and after contacting City Index who run the platform and Vodafone who both have pointed me in the direction of this site saying they are not responsible! I'm confused!
Can anyone help please...
Thanx

  • Sharing an Bluetooth Internet GPRS connection in MacOS and Windows...

    Hallo!
I sucsessfully set up an Bluetooth Internet GPRS connection in MacOS and my phone (SE W880i) added "MyName's Mac" record into its list of trusted devices.
Then I loaded Windows XP SP2 on the same computer and tried to set up Bluetooth Internet GPRS connection there: I paired devices and my phone has OVERWRITEN "MyName's Mac" record, created during MacOS setup, as I think because Bluetooth MAC adress remain the same...
Internet is Windows XP worked fine until I rebooted my Mac back to MacOS where I tried to luanch recently created Bluetooth Internet GPRS connection. MacOS reported the it cannot initialize communication device... Then I reconfigured my phone in MacOS again and Internet worked fine until rebooting to Windows XP, which reported that it cannot open COM port because it's busy...
Main clue of it is that I have to reinstall my Bluetooth Internet GPRS connection each time I load to different system either MacOS or Windows...

  • Gprs connection between two mobile phones

    Hi
is it possible to make a gprs connection between two mobile phones without a server(pc...)? when the answer "yes" please give me an exapmle...

I'm not sure, I'm just connecting some facts. I'm talking about Siemens S55. It has implemented sockets (both client sockets and server sockets). The phone, when connected via GPRS has IP address (Siemens' netmonitor reports it..). But i've never tried to use server-socket on my mobile.
So it seems that it is in fact possible on some handsets. (AFAIK nokia 6610 and similar does not support sockets...)

  • C3-00 Unwanted GPRS connections

    10-Oct-201107:42 PM
After waiting on an answer in another topic I did put this under a new topic cause it was on a WLAN topic and the matter is the hard to controlled and unwanted GPRS connections of the C3-00
Placed the 16th of october 2001
All was set to "My action is required" in the GPRS and WiFi settings.
So all the hints I have found in the topics were checked so all the connections are set to :ASK ME FIRST !  As well as the possible auto updates were cancelled !
    Question 1-4:
Is there any setting in the C3-00 for a WiFi / GPRS connection set on the SIM-card ??
    Question 2-4 :
Are ALL the settings for a WiFi / GPRS connection on the C3-00 placed on the PHONE's memory ?
    I have two SIM's
One for prepaid in a Finnish Network. GPRS installed via SMS of the operator
One for prepaid in a Dutch Network. GPRS installed via SMS of the operator
The Finnish SIM works as it should with GPRS : ON when needed OFF when browser is closed.
As well in Holland as in Finland ! In Finland -Elisa- and Holland in roaming -VodaFone- .
The Dutch SIM is connecting at once and after disconnecting it comes up again in short time !
It is only tested in Holland not yet roaming in Finland.
    Question 3-4:
Would it be possible that the operator is starting a GPRS connection ?
Because they "know" that you installed the GPRS possibility on "their" network number.
There are a few fact's in this matter who don't leave the networks out of the problem cause.
    Question 4-4 :
Would it be possible to analyse the recieved auto-SMS for setting up a GPRS connection ?
    Thanks in advance
    Chris7207 from Holland

Looks like this matter is to big to handle in this forum. After 10 days in this topic no answer as wel as in the C03-00 Wlan topic.
Fact is that the only goal is to get attention for the matter wich had in the c03-00 Wlan more then 200 reactions. Wich is at least three times more then other highnumbered topics.
In my opinion it is not the way it should be treated by Nokia !
It's not so long ago that Nokian laatua oli hyvaa!
Prove that it still is !

  • E61 GPRS connection not disconnecting

    Hello,
I have recently updated my E61 to the latest firmware 3.xxx
Now I have noticed a strange thing where built in email client does not disconnect from GPRS at all, unless I manually disconnect it.
With previous firmware 2.xxx and my settings of "Check every 30 minutes" it would start connection, check email, then disconnect. Now, connection is always ON even though the setting is still set to every 30 minutes.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to make it behave as before, disconnecting after checking email?
Any help will be appreciate it.
    Thanks

This is simply an educated guess as I'm short on time right now, but will look into the issue in more depth later.
Have you checked your connection options (tools, settings, connection)? There is an option for GPRS connectivity there. The available options will be 'When Available', and 'When Needed'. I'd start by checking the firmware update hasn't changed this option to When Available.
If that is not the answer, I'll research the problem more thoroughly.
    All the best,
    Damion.

  • 3G-GPRS CONNECTION ALWAYS ON....

How do I stop the 3G/GPRS connection being always on. There is an option for 'Always when needed/available' but this doesn't make any difference.
Apparently this is down to certain applications set to connect automatically, but there doesn't seem to be a way to identify these....
Any help or tips will be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem! I wish someone could solve this problem. I want the 'allow connection', 'allow connection for this session' and 'connect automatically' to reappear on my phone.
I clicked on 'connect automatically' once & this led to the 3G-GPRS connection always on problem. Just want the connection prompt to re-appear again!
    Please help. Thx in advance.

  • [28035] Error with a GPRS connection

    Hi to all,
We always have this problem using GPRS connection calling the sync web service with HTTPS protocol whereas HTTP is always functionning (on both mode : GPRS/wired).
System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeError: Internal error: HTTP header information is either corrupted or missing in the transport message. It could be a network transmission error or an IIS problem.<u5:p></u5:p>
    \tError Code =28035<u5:p></u5:p>
    \tHResult = -2147012746
    Technical informations:
    PDA on Windows Mobile 6.5
    SQL CE 3.5 SP2
    Device : Motorola MC 65/55
    SQL Server 2008 R2
We believe that the reverse proxy is involved because when the PDA is using wired connection, no reverse proxy is used because we are already in the company network. Indeed:
GPRS mode : PDA <-> firewall <-> RP <-> Web servers <-> SQL Servers
Wired mode : PDA <-> Web server <-> SQL Servers
    Didier.

Nothing concrete, other than what bing can find:

  • Share GPRS Connection between two phones

Hey.. was just curious if its possible to share a gprs connection from one mobile.. say N73 to some other mobile say N95 via bluetooth .. I know we can share the internet connection of a PC to a mobile over bluetooth but .. is it possible to do so between two mobiles?
It would be great if there's some 3rd party app which actually makes this possible!

    Technically it can be done.
But I don't know til now an application which do this.
There is some apps for WiFi but not for GPRS.
May be you have to post your suggestion to some 3rd party companies or may be it's time for you to develop your own application.
You have many choices for programming: C++, Python, Java, ...
    Good luck friend

  • How To Activate GPRS connection programmatically?

guys i need help with activating a GPRS or opening a GPRS connection... im creating a GMAIL client for mobile phones... and i still dont know how to activate GPRS to connect to pop.gmail.com... do u have references or ebooks that could help? thanks in advance!

Try opening a socket, or use the JavaMail API and try to connect it to J2ME.
However, you don't really activate hardware within Java, you create a network or device object and Java connects that to the native implementation and hands off to the OS which then drives the hardware.

  • N85 tries to open GPRS-connection by itself

Hi. I have used N85 for couple months now, and after latest software update (20.175) bumped to a problem. Almost every day I notice that my phone has opened packet data connection. When I check running applications there are no extra applications. GPRS-connection can not turned off, only solution is to reboot phone.
My girlfriend bought same phone 2 week ago, and after latest update she had similar problem. Every day some application is asking permission to open GPRS-connection, and also there are now extra applications running.
We both have turned off automatic email checking, automatic updates, connecting to net when using GPS but no avail. Both phones has Opera Mini (using wlan by default) and Nokia Maps, but no other third party applications. Any hints what could be done would be appreciated.
    P.S  Pardon my terrible english.

    hi there,
Since u r saying the problem is after the Firmware upgrade u can have a go at these options
*#7780# Resets ur mobile to the Factory settings no data loss
*#7370# Formats ur Phone memory All PHONE data will be lost
3 finger reset Hold on '3' ,'*" ,'Call answer key' at the same time also hold on the power key until u see the Nokia handshake symbol
Try one by one till ur problem gets resolved
u no need to go this much the problem may get resolved atmost to the second level
    check out
    cheers.....

  • SSL implementation using gprs connectivity

currently we are using gprs conectivity for sending and receiving plain data between POS machine and server. Now we want to implement SSL on gprs connectivity,if any one knows please help us to solve this issue.
hardware specifications: ARM processor in POS machine, gprs- TR 800 module

I have done research on the topic and not enough to go with but i still move forward never to let go so do the same and keep me posted, but my ideal situation would be developing a application so that you have control over the device over a gsm network rather, still trying out the MIDP and others

  • Difficulty syncing and sharing 3G/GPRS connection with NokiaN75 post 10.5.2

Prior to 10.5.2 (Feb. '08) I was easily able to use isync and share my Nokia's 3G/GPRS connection with the MacBook Pro. Whenever I needed to access the Internet or check my email, I could easily and simply establish the connection with the phone via Bluetooth and use the phone's access to the Internet. While not blazing fast, it was quicker than dial up and worked well when traveling and when you didn't want to pay $12.95 for 24 hour access...
Since 10.5.2 I believe, I have had difficulty syncing - I get error messages saying that the synchronization failed. I can no longer connect and share the 3G connection, - an error message about PPP...Can anyone suggest a work around or perhaps Apple's engineering can put in a fix in 10.5.3??? Downloading the isync plug in from Nokia had no benefit...Thank you in advance...

Actually I was answering Paul who does have an iMac but it doesn't matter one way or the other - the same answer applies. Odd that you have the same settings in security and sharing but it doesn't work in one direction. Are you sure you are using the right password? Have you attempted sharing with a different account on that computer?
