  • Are printed versions of Aperture User Guides available??

Does anyone know if there are printed/bound versions of Aperture User Guides available, either through Apple or a 3rd party?
PDF's and the help menu are fine when you're on the computer and need a quick answer. However, I also like to have a nice book version to take and read at night, when traveling, etc...
I would certainly pay (a reasonable amount) for such a book, but when I explored getting the PDF printed/bound at a local Staples, they wanted some outrageous amount ($160 or so), due to it being in color and 400+ pages.
Ideally, I'd like a version similar to the "Getting Started" manual that came with Aperture.
    Regards
    Tom

I agree, as I often prefer to sit down and read the manuals away from the computer, etc..
I can understand why Apple doesn't ship printed versions in the box (extra cost, shipping, etc) and provides a free PDF instead. However, it seems like they could offer a printed version for a price on their on-line (and retail) stores for those so inclined to pay for it. They already have the manuals generated, they just need to make them available.
In the meantime, I guess we wait for someone to bring an Aperture 1.5 book to market. Problem there is that by the time someone else puts one out, Aperture will be up to rev 1.6 or something...

  • Newly released BOEXI31 Java Developer Guide available

I've been slogging along with the OLD BOEXI3x Java Developer Guide documentation which incorrectly references various security and principal classes.
However, I've just noticed this morning that a NEWER version of the DG is available at:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/boesdk_java_dg_12_en.zip
which DOES reference the correct packages in the examples and scenarios.
...in case anyone shared my confusion.

    Thanks for posting!
If you find any further doc bugs, please post in the forums, and I'll be able to forward the info.

  • Any step by step RFC Configuration guide available.

    Hi All,
Any step by step RFC Configuration guide or Blog available to connect RFC function module with the NWDS.
    Thanx for Ur time.
    Cheers,
    Sam

    Hi,
Once gone thru all those documents u need to folloe these steps.
U need to configure  the SLD and techinical system if it is properly conneted then your work is easy.
Then you have to go and crete the create the JCo Destination systems.
After you can urilize the created JCO in your application.
When you create the create the model you need to give the model names and Jco names and give the r/3 system details and get your function module from the R/3 side before need to make your fnmodule as Remote enabled and give the authrization roles.
Then you can get  the Ur fn module into webdynpro.
    Thanks,
    Lohi.

  • Fonts and Mac OS 10.6.5 Snow Leopard - any guide available?

FONTS: I am trying to find an Apple pdf guide or information on how to work with Fonts, where they are stored etc. For example - in HD/Library/Fonts I have 185 items - of which 184 are fonts; and 1 is a Microsoft fonts folder, in which there are 131 items - all fonts - some which are duplicates (exact??) of the other 184 fonts in the fonts folder.
Then there are NO fonts in /scschulte(user)/Library/Fonts but 4 files that seem to contain information about fonts.
    There are protected fonts in the system folder/Library/Protected fonts;
There are disabled fonts folders and font collection folders...
    even fonts in iMovie!
How to manage this, reduce the number without causing problems; how to know when to use / keep a Microsoft font vs another etc. etc....?!
Thanks for any info here-- and is this similar (or exactly the same) in SL as in Leopard?? (I have the Missing Manual for Leopard, but not Snow Leopard).

  • New Howto guide available: HOW to INSTALL and CONFIGURE A TWO-NODE CLUSTER

    Hi,
I am not sure that this has been posted or not. But for all of us who are too lazy (like myself) to read the full set of documentation, or who have not enough time, please have a look at this short document with screen shots that explains how to setup a simple two-node cluster.
    http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/howtoguides/twonodecluster.jsp
I still recommend to browse through the "Sun Cluster Concepts Guide for Solaris OS" http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0421
    Have fun
    Hartmut

I am afraid there is no such document. But I can try to give you some hints.
N+1 can be seen as two things:
    - the phsical setup of the cluster and
    - the logical configuration of services
A physical N+1 setup would mean, that you have one server that is connected to all shared storage, but the other N nodes are only connected to the shared storage they need.
This configuration would also need the logical N+1 setup, namely that all HA services could only run on 2 nodes, their primary node and as a backup this one dedicated node that is connected to all shared storage.
If you do not have the physical N+1 setup, you could easily have a logical N+1 setup, by having a N*N topology, j.e. all nodes connected to all storage, but logically each service again would have only 2 nodes on its nodelist.
It seems that the second option is the one that is used more often, as ift offers you the ability to reconfigure things in case of failures.
With regards to asymmetric and symmetric I am not quite sure what you mean: And I do not think that these terms are used in the SC docs.
What I can think of is, that asymmetric means that you have one node being active with 1 or more HA services and have one inactive secondary node as a backup.

    Hi Lisa,
I have just Installed the dashboard manager. Some dashboards were automatically installed but I cannot display these widgets. I have this message (actually it's in French) :
         The dashbord doesn't exist.
         Dashboard : /com.sap.b1.dashboards/0010000104.SAP_DASHBOARD_001.DAB003/default.html
If thos dashbord has been imported lately , check if the SAP Business One Event Sender has been launched, wait a few minutes and try again.
Have you ever met this problem.

  • LaserWriter NT Quick Setup Guide Available

While digging through my pile of Apple stuff, I came across a used, but original, copy of LaserWriter NT Quick Setup Guide, document #031-0057-A (note: just the guide, not the printer.) This guide is for a very ooold printer, but knowing that one person's 'not needed' (I hesitate to say junk) is another's 'wanted', I am offering this free to the first responder.

  • I want to know how to create accessible pages documents for visually impaired. Is there a manual or guide available?

I work for an NGO that has a lot of visually impaired staff. When I create pages documents and then export to PDF I often get feedback that the document is not very accessible. I have been searching for a manual or guide on how to ensure my documents are accessible, but cannot seem to find
    I have pages 5.0.1

You need to add accessibility, after Exporting the pdf, with Acrobat Pro.
I don't know of any software except maybe Indesign or Quark XPress* that actually builds it into the pre-pdf document.
    These references should help:
    http://webguide.gov.au/accessibility-usability/accessibility/pdf-accessibility/
    http://www.adobe.com/au/products/acrobat/pdf-accessibility-wcag-508-compliance-s tandards.html
    http://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/acrobat/training.html
    Peter
    * Quark Xpress definitely did not have it up to QXP 7.5 but I can find no later references, so probably it is only Indesign.

  • What is a GUID?  As in no GUID is available?

I am trying to download the Facetime app to my MacBook Air.  When I enter my ID and password, I get the message that there is "No GUID available. Check with Apple Support."  What does this mean and who should I contact.?

    Hi, Robert,
I'd suggest you ask this question in the Mac App Store forum.
This isn't an iTunes issue, iTunes not being involved in Mac app issues, so this probably isn't the forum where you'll be most likely to get a quick and accurate answer.

  • Where can I find a guide / How to about how to upgrade using SM?

    Hi,
Where can I find a guide / How to about how to upgrade a NetWeaver server using SAP Solution Manager?
    Thanks.

    Dear Doron
Solution Manager system will never physically participate in the upgrade of a Netweaver Server. It will only help you to find the right files via the maintenance optimizer. Also if you want to develop / use a Project for your upgrade you could use the upgrade roadmap and then use Solution Manager as a Project Management tool for the upgrade.
Besides this there will be no guide available for "upgrading" a system, since the upgrade roadmap is generic and the maintenance optimizer feature is isolated from the roadmap. You will have to follow the upgrade guides available on
    http://service.sap.com/instguides.
Hope that this answers your query.
    Regards
    Amit
