CATON

caton,my problem sounds similar:
i have a hp pavilion dv6-1247cl laptop.running on windows 7
initially i was able to use the duplicate feature-fn/f4 key to display and hear my web page on the tv screen using the hdmi cable connection.
i am unsure if i have accidentally changed a setting recently on my laptop or what,but i am unable to get sound audio any longer through my tv or receiver system as before. the video from the laptop on the tv still shows fine
the hdmi connection ran computer to tv then audio cable out from tv to receiver.
i can get the sound to work if i connect an audio cable directly fron the hp headphone jack on my laptop into the same audio input channels in my receiver.
anyone got any ideas if the laptop is on the fritz or do i just need to change some setting
ps the laptop is relatively new
please advise of web site where i can seek a solution
thanks for any input you may have

  • A solution for the skipping audio playback in iTunes

    I had the same horrible skipping problem that a lot of other users have while playing back songs in iTunes. Here's what I did to correct it. You need to get itunes ver 6.0.5. My problem started when I upgraded to ver 7 and every version thereafter. First, backup your iTunes library of purchased songs. Get rid of all traces of iTunes ver 7 installation off your hard drive. Install iTunes ver 6.0.5 - then import your iTunes music (I found I had to also delete the two small library files that were created by the later versions of iTunes to be able to import and create the library for ver 6.0.5). After creating the library, all my purchased iTunes songs then appeared in iTunes. The first time I clicked on a song to play it a pop-up window appeared asking to authorize the song on this machine(my PC). I used the same ID and password that I always had used to purchase the iTunes originally. Then everything was great again. It took me a long time to figure out that an earlier version (pre ver 7) was the fix. By the way, prior to doing all the above, I had just re-installed WinXP on a blank hard drive. Hope this works for you - if it does don't ever click yes when the pop-up shows up in iTunes saying that a newer version is available.

    I didn't mean to give me an answer for the security questions i mean that i didn't remember the answers and i don't have a rescue email to send in it , i'm just ask for sloution to reset my security questions got it?

  • My solution for No Audio -- Conexant drivers and Windows 7 x64

    My son and I have the L2000 laptop that came with 32 bit XP and used the Conexant chipset for Audio. I had been using an SB Audigy PCMCIA card so I am not sure when Audio was really lost; however, he noticed it when I upgraded his PC. I scoured various forums looking for 64 bit  Windows 7 drivers for Conexant audio but to no avail. Microsoft and Conexant both said that HP should supply the drivers. By the way HP, the Conexant website says that they do not supply drivers even though they make the chipsets "at the request of the OEM's." Another post said that HP was not going to supply these drivers for Windows 7. The solution from HP for my model and Windows 7 was the "HP Software Advisor" which was 67MB and totaly useless. It appears that this is a very common problem. Anyway, here is what you do:
    First you need 2 files which ironically enough come from HP, they are SP35558.exe and SP35558.cva They contain the Conexant drivers for Vista x64. (I subsequently have found the 32 bit drivers and the procedure should be very similar except the files are SP34789.exe and SP34789.cva). Type the following into your browser address bar ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/ About half way down you will find the sub-directory with these files. Just right click each one and save to your desktop.
    Double click SP35558.cva and tell Windows to use Notepad to open it. Scroll about half way down to "[Operating Systems]" and after "WV64UL=OEM" insert:
    W764HB=OEM
    W764HP=OEM
    W764PR=OEM
    W764UL=OEM
    ( For 32 bit systems use W732HB=OEM, etc.)
    I next went up about 10 lines to "[System information]" and added
    SysId3=0x3091
    SysName3=HP Pavilion ze2000 series
    SysId4=0x3096
    SysName4=Compaq presario M2000 series

    SysName7=Compaq Presario M2000 series
    SysId8=0x3093
    SysName8=HP Special Edition L2000 series
    I got this information from another cva file on my PC at C;/swsetup/ This is the directory where HP updates default to.
    After modding the cva file, I saved it to C;/swsetup/sp35558/
    I then executed the SP35558.exe file. It did not work the first time -- I missed a line in my cva file. However, I then manually installed the Conexant drivers as follows and voila I had sound, nice crisp clear sound.
    Under Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other" and choose "Update Driver" Then" Browse your PC" and "Choose from a list". Select "Sound, audio and game controllers", then Conexant, then "Have Disk" . Browse to C:/swsetup/sp35558/ and open "cp6308Ba.inf" (64bit remember). Now choose "OK" and ignore any warnings about incompatibility, WHQL, etc. Give it plenty of time, you might think you are in a loop, but you are not. Congratulations, you are done.

    I thought that I would recompile my answer and then mark this thread as solved since it was not a post about a problem but rather how I solved a very common problem that might be of benefit to others.

    The use of the cva file is to streamline the driver install and it is kind of cool if it works. If you cannot find it or you are not successful the first time or you do not want to bother with modding anything, do not worry, the manual install will work for sure.
    Run sp35558.exe to extract everything and let it strike out. Then go to Device Manager and update the driver manually as follows:
    Under Device Manager, right click "Multimedia Audio Device" under "Other" and choose "Update Driver" Then "Browse your PC" and "Choose from a list". • HDMI Video input upgrade for HP Pavilion Elite m9060n Media-Center PC...What is simplest route?

    The Media Centre came with TV tuner etc; I have upgraded the Graphics card to Nvidia GeForce 450GTS which has two HDMI outputs. I need an HDMI input to get the best signal input from my cable box...the best input the existing TV tuner offers is "S-Video",which ain't exactly high-grade. What is the simplest solution for a tech-challenged individual like me? (I don't really need "tuning" facility...but require some form of input. If you help a media-moron the gods will bless you.

    You cannot run an HDMI out from a cable-box to a PC Tv-Tuner card in port. THe main reason is industry standard copy protection and HDCP. Unfortunately, you have an NTSC only tuner - so the answer is no HD from cable...only ATSC from an aerial antenna. If you install a QAM tuner, you can run the coax directly in and get unprotected HD programming.

    I'm able to pull up my picture when connecting my HDMI cable to my Macbook pro...however I can't get the sound to come out of my Toshiba TV.  When I go under system preferences, then sound and select my Toshiba TV as an option.  It says it has no output controls.  I fiddled with my sound setting in my TV and stil no luck.   Does anyone know any solutions for this problem.  Help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey jbarwins
    Check to make sure that you are up to date on your computer. Another recommendation would be to try a different cable and also reset the NVRAM on your computer.

  • Best solution for 2+ monitors CS6

    After reading discussions about the flaws of external hardware (matrox, BM, AJA) - or at least the drivers needed, I want to find the right solution for using two computer monitors for my Workspaces and a third (HDMI or HD SDI) output for a 37-inch program monitor (not broadcast, but decent Panansonic LED). I have been reading tons of specs and posts... what is best? I am planning a new CS6 workstation
         1. Dual Quadro 4000s
         2. Dual GTX 570s or 680s
         3. some new idea??
    Why can't Nvidia make all three ports active on the Quadros?
    Wishing Adobe would post more than just minimum specs, but some kind of details on levels of workstations based on types of workflows...
    Thanks,
    Diane
    PS I've been using a $50 HP USB signal splitter on CS5 for a couple of months - it's been great - allowing me to spread my Workspace across two monitors with HDMI to the panny monitor. But that can't really be The Solution, can it?!?

    GTX 670/680 cards support up to 4 monitors. Dual cards are not supported, nor is there a need for with the Kepler range of cards. Well, a bit more detail, you can install two cards if they use the same driver, but only one will be used by PR and the other only for steering monitors and that is a bit expensive with Quadros or the GTX 570/580, when a single 670/680 does the same job at much lesser cost and with better performance on most systems.

  • Providing DRC solution for ATMs in the enterprise network

    Hi all,
    I am looking for ideas on how to provide a Disaster Recovery solution for thousands of ATMs (Automated Teller Machine) deployed in the bank enterprise network. The solution should consider
    the following facts:-
    1.- Having the ATMs switch the connection to the Server at DRC shouldn't be automatic. This situation might last for the next few years until DRC becomes mirror image of primary data center.
    2.- The ATM servers at the primary and disaster recovery center is single server equipped with high availability (Tandem). I mean to say, there is no SLBs invloved in the connection
    3.- The application running on the ATMs is calling the ATM Server by hardcoded IP address in the application. The bank is willing to visit the ATMs to change once and forever.
    I see source natting as the most appropriate solution, however your opanion and expertise are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sami

    Sami,
    what kind of solution are you looking for ?
    Is the concern the connection from ATM to central location ?
    Or is it a concern about the server at the central location ?
    For connection issues, I don't see any other solution than providing multiple lines.
    If the concern is the single server, you could have a loadbalancer somewhere in your network.
    The loadbalancer can use probes to check the health of the server.
    If the primary fails, or is unreachable, you can automatically redirect the traffic to the standby.
    ATM machines will point to the virtual ip (you could reuse the current ip and assign a new one to the servers).
    Not sure where to place the loadbalancer without a better idea of the problem to solve and the network.
    Gilles.

  • Small Office Network Solution for Final Cut Server - Proxy Storage Etc.

    Hi,
    I haven't been able to find any answers for this question by googling, So I would love if anyone here had some advice. I have the 10 License version of Final Cut Studio with 5 clients at the moment. I would like to set-up our office in the most effective way, however we are a non-profit organization, so we are working with a limited budget.
    My question is, does anyone know of any networking solutions for Proxy Storage and Media storage, that wont bottleneck, but is not as high budget/high tech as using an Xserve/XSan system?
    Right now we would be looking at running Final Cut Server off of our 24inch Intel IMac (Going to beef up the RAM). We have a Gigabit Switch, 4 more intel machines running final Cut pro, and a direct attached Drobo for Media Storage. I know this is not an Ideal set-up, but it's what I have to work with right now. So, I'm looking for any kinds of tips and tricks to make this set-up work for us, and am looking at purchasing either a Network Attached or iscsI storage system for the Proxy Storage.
    I hope this is a decent description of my situation, and would love some advice.
    Thanks Very Much,

  • HP Solutions for Install Errors for HP Officejet 6500

    I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 operating system. My printer is 2 years old. Windows 7 located and initially installed the printer. It worked fine at first, but after I changed the black ink cartridge, the printer would no longer print in black. Pages come through, sounds like they are printing, but they are blank or with some color (depending on the document). I have downloaded HP's install of this printer's software (took over 3 hours), seemed fine, but now it's back to no black print. I have tried to reinstall (again), but it gets stuck installing the wireless. HP sent Solutions for install, icon. Suggests disconnecting and shutting printer, modem, and computer down, then using printer install CD and reload. I have the CD, but it doesn't work with Windows 7. What to do?

    This article should help resolve your blank pages:

  • Solution for scanning multiple pages from inside the form6i/10g

    Hi All,
    I need to scan multiple pages from Oracle forms (6i/10g) using a scanner which is scanning multiple pages per minute. Can any one post a solution for me.
    Hafeez

    here are the two ways I use to scan images.
    1) if the image is a single TIF image then d2kwutil can upload the image into a BLOB field on the database (but it is limited to only SINGLE-page TIFs).
    2) if the image is a single or multi-page PDF, then your forms client must copy the image to a filesystem location known by the database (where the filesystem location is a directory on the database), and then the database can import the image into a BLOB field within the database.
    either solutions work pretty fast for me (<10 seconds per image)

  • I have a Samsung HD TV and I purchased a Mini Display port to HDMI Adapter today. For some strange reason I get no display on my HD tv. I even tried switching a few HDMI cables and nothing popped up. I made sure my computer was updated. Help pls

    I have a Samsung HD TV and I purchased a Mini Display port to HDMI Adapter today. For some strange reason I get no display on my HD tv. I even tried switching a few HDMI cables and nothing popped up. I made sure my computer performed all software updates, and I even tried calling Apple Support. They just told me to keep trying different hdmi cables and see if anything pops up. Does anybody know what the problem is? My HDMI cable is from "rocketfish" also my display port is too.

    You may have the screen refresh rate set higher than the TV is generally able to track reliably. It may be able to get there most times, but occasionally loses sync because it is out of its nominal range.
    I suggest you sit down with the manual for the TV and find out what resolutions at what refresh rates it intends to support through VGA, and make sure your screen settings are near (or below) those limits.

  • Mac mini, macbook + DVI to HDMI + projector = No soup for you!

    This is driving me nuts!!! I have tried 3 different macs, 4 completely different cables/adapters and they all do exactly the same thing.
    1. I connect the mac to the DVI to HDMI cable and/or adapter combo, then connect to the projector
    2. I get 2-30 seconds of wonderful projector screen usage (it works, picture looks crystal clear)
    3. Then POOF! No projector signal, though it appears mac recognizes the projector.
    I can repeat from 1 using a different adapter and/or cable and I get exactly the same results, but if I re-use the same cable I used previously, I get no signal at all.
    What the $%@! is going on here??? Is Apple black-listing my cables or something??? I'm using everything from cheap-o cables to $$$ cables with exactly the same result.I run this projector with absolutely no problem from a dell desktop via DVI to HDMI.
    For what it's worth, I'm connecting to a LG HS201 projector.
    using Core-2-duo macs either with pure DVI or mini-DVI

    samberl wrote:
    DVI to HMDI is not supported on the Core 2 Duo Mac Mini.
    You need to connect via DVI or VGA to your projector.
    I have had Core2Duo Mac minis working with Sony LCD TVs and a Toshiba Plasma via DVI to HDMI cables with no problems. Obviously audio has to be run separately. There have been many reports from others that this works. It should do since both DVI and HDMI support HDCP and both are digital video connections, this after all is why a simple DVI to HDMI cable works.
    What can be an issue is if your trying to do things like 3D or YCbCr colour encoding. However standard video works fine. Another common issue is if your are switching inputs to the TV perhaps via an AV Receiver or if the TV is allowed to sleep or be turned off, in these cases the Mac can see the handshake signal disappear. It is for this sort of situation Gefen makes the DVI Detective+ and the HDMI Detective+.
    Since in your case the common factor is your projector and not the computer or cables it might be it at fault. Early HDMI products did have HDCP handshaking problems.
    People have been using Mac minis as media center computer with HDMI for ages since the Mac mini is small and quiet, this probably goes back as far as G4 models let alone Core2Duo models.

  • Solution for: no audio in time line - conforming issues - unspecified error occurred

    these are all the same issue and i have the solution for it.
    Adobe has once again let down the non professional user but ignoring this bug. They have also deleted alot of my other posts on the adobe forums.. perhaps so you cannot receive help from me?? who freakin knows..
    b Problem:
    you import your footage and there is no audio in the time line. you see the audio clip there but no information in it. some people say its because of MPEG format but MPEG files works fine in Windows Movie Maker, Ulead, Pinnacle, Sony Vegas.. etc...
    let it be known that its an Adobe Premiere issue.
    b Solution:
    b step 1:
    close adobe premiere
    b step 2:
    open My Computer and go to tools at the top. From the drop down menu go to folder options. In folder options click the view tab. In the advanced settings section where it says 'Hidden files and folders' make sure 'show hidden files and folders' is selected.
    b step 3:
    open My computer and go to c:\ drive > Documents and settings. Now click into your user name (NOT 'All users') in my case its 'proGamer'. Now click into 'Application Data' > 'Adobe' > 'common' > 'Media Cache Files'.
    b step 4:
    in this folder find the files you were just trying to import by searching the name. in my case its file: 20081217030338. you will now see 3 different file types with the same file name you were importing: CFA, PEK, MPGINDEX. delete them all!
    b step 5:
    go back and open adobe premiere, open up your project again and it will automatically recreate those files you just deleted. hopefully correctly.
    b NOTE:
    If this hasn't worked then open your adobe premiere project, clear all trace of the files with no audio and start again from step 1. then after step 5 just import the files back into your project.
    This has proved to work with every file i've imported that had the audio not conformed.
    b your second option:
    simply play your clip in WMV or VLC or what ever player you use and record the audio in real time in stereo by using some music editing like cubase or logic audio. you can also use something more friendly like 'recordpad' found here: http://www.nch.com.au/recordpad/screenshots.html now you can buy it from these guys or get it how ever else you like
    lemme know how u go

    dmd,
    I've read plenty of places that they know about the bug and are going to fix it. Will from Adobe said so in a few older posts. It's also listed as an issue in the 4.0.1 readme.
    I agree that this is the most screwed up Adobe release ever but I doubt they're deleting your posts to hide it. Never know though.....
    "Adobe has once again let down the non professional user but ignoring this bug" I actually wish Adobe would forget the consumers and make Premiere Pro more friendly to professionals. Dozens of multimillion dollar movies have been edited with Avid and Final Cut over the past few years. Adobe doesn't put forth any effort make Premiere a pro application. Because they pander to the consumers and prosumers they end up messing up the product for everybody.
    Premiere Elements is for consumers, Premiere Pro should be for the 'Pros'
