No Help in BPC 7.5 NW

I noticed there is no Help under available interfaces in BPC NW 7.5 ramp-up. Do you know how to install this important component?

Hi Kara,
BPC Ramp up is not but a stage where SAP is testing the newer version of BPC on some specific companies. So you would not be able to find any document in relation to "BPC NW 7.5 ramp-up". But you can find the upgrade and installtion guides as mentioned above by other experts.
Hope this helps.

    Hi,
but in general, if it is dev./POC single server systems, create a user like bpcadmin in that server, add it to admin group and use this during the installation for all 3 fields.
if it is productive system, either single or multi, create a user in domain, may be same machine domain, or a service user domain which is connected/trusted to this machine, then add this user in admin group of your .net server and use this during installation for all 3 fields. If you have some security policies, create 3 diff. users as mentioned in install guide and use it accordingly in the same manner.

  • BPC 7.5NW Drill-through to FIM

    Hi all,
I upload data to BPC 7.5 NW SP06 through FIM. I tried to set up the Drill-through functionality of BPC so as to see the analysis of the trial balance uploaded in FIM, but with no success. The How-to-paper for drill-through functionality for NW, uses drill-through only to BEx and ECC, not FIM. In SAP help for BPC NW, there is an example for FIM but it is too general.Has anyone faced the same situation? Or any idea?
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Maria

    Hi,
I am trying DT to ECC funcationality in BPC 7.5 NW version. I am trying to TD from a P&L report based on hierarchies.
I would like to know how people are using drill-through on parent level nodes within their BPC hierarchies.
I hear that there is something called which is a hierarchical view of their objects/metadata in ECC. How is it related to BPC drill through?
In my example, the DT is from a P&L report that consists of Functoinal Area & P_Account (with a mix of hier nodes and base members) and Company Code in Colum (in summarized columns like N. America, Europe, etc). The current View migth have profiit center hier nodes that comprise of multiple base member profit centers.
We would like to to drill thorugh from a cell  that is an intersection of FuncArea-Account parent node and Comoamy Code parent node (N. America) to an ECC profict center transaction - K5EZ (Profit center line item).
Any help/guidance with some documentation if possible is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • BPC validation rules based on member properties

    Hi all,
validation rules seem to be very helpful in BPC NW but all examples I have found use members to define the rules. Is possible to use a member property to define a rule?
For example, my ENTITY dimension has a STATUS property. I want to ensure that the user cannot save data when this property is equal to "CLOSED".
    thanks for your help,
    Alex

    Hi,
You can acheive this by using Use BADI implementation under Validation maintenance.
    hope it helps...

  • Error when Schedule Processing Dimension

    Hi Buddies,
From the help of BPC, I know BPC can schedule processing dimension in the background.
I acted as the instruction according with the steps in Help, but it doesn't work. (The help told me let the source table blank, but the system will tell me need to put a source table. I don't know how to put into a source table name)
    Can anyone give some advice?
    Thanks in advance!
    Maggie

    Maggie,
When scheduling the dimension process from the administration console a table called TempScheduleMBRxxxx is created where xxxx is the dimensionname of the dimension your just scheduled to process. Try to put this tablename as the sourcetable, I think it should work. So if you are scheduling the Entity dimension try to put TempScheduleMBRentity into this field.
Of coursw also check after scheduling if the table is really created in the SQL database.

  • Differences between Internal Format and External Format

    Hi experts,
When I was importing master data from InfoObject in BW, there's an option selection in the screen of Data Manager. Its name is Choose format and two selectable options are:
    1. Internal Format
    2. External Format
I looked into help of BPC and it says:
    Choose the Format
    Note:
The External Format calls the Output conversion routine of the InfoObject.
The Internal Format does not call the Output conversion routine.
I'm not sure what is Output conversion routine of the InfoObject. Could you help me to understand it?
    Thanks,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
In BPC Data Manager, you will find Conversions, in that you will find
External and Internal formats.  This means if you are importing a flat file where in
Example your date format in that file is 31-10-2009, but our Internal format (BPC format)
will not accept it.  Our internal format is 2009.OCT.  So accordingly you have to
mention that.  It may be for any dimension like Accounts, Product and so on.......
I hope this may help you.

  • Help needed in BPC Script

    Hello Experts,
I have a requirement to migrate the BPC 7.5MS version scripts to BPC 10 NW Script.
When I try to copy the existing working BPC 7.5 MS script to NW Script, I get validation error as BPC 10 script doesn't understand few lines.
Below are the lines which are getting errors.Could you please help in giving me the equivalent BPC 10 NW commands for below lines
    1)*MEMBERSET (%ACT%,"Descendants([ACCOUNT].[H1].[PNC_GPW],999,leaves)")
    2)*Calculate_Difference = 0
    3) Will BPC 10 accept time=next(11) command? It is not giving any validation error
I am also attaching the existing BPC 7.5MS script in this thread as below.
    Thanks,
    Senoy

    Hi Senoy,
It's practically impossible to "migrate" MS scripts to NW - so many differences, each script have to be rewritten with understanding of business logic (not just script translation).
    1)*MEMBERSET (%ACT%,"Descendants([ACCOUNT].[H1].[PNC_GPW],999,leaves)")
    Something like:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT AS %ACT%=BAS(PNC_GPW)
    2)*Calculate_Difference = 0
Not supported, always full value is send but delta is written
    3) Will BPC 10 accept time=next(11) command? It is not giving any validation error
next is not supported, TMVL(11,%TIME_SET%) can be used in some cases.
And please, read the standard help for script logic in BPC NW 10. All supported keywords are mentioned here:
    Logic Keyword Reference

  • Need Help in creating BPC Report

    Hi,
I want to develop a BPC report as shown below .
    .........................2010.TOTAL... 2011.TOTAL......2011.Q1..... 2011.Q2......2011.Q3.......2011.Q4
    ............................ ACTUAL  ........PLAN..............PLAN....... .PLAN..........PLAN............PLAN
              REVENUE
                COGS
(.......) have been used for only formatting the report in above format.
I am not very much trained in BPC . I have loaded the actual data for 2010 with the proper hierarchy and i am able to see it on the report but i am facing difficulty in below two things.
1] I am not able to create a report where i can see the Actual of 2010 and i can enter the forecast for 2011.
2] My 2010.TOTAL is not getting rolled up , I have used proper hierarchy in Time dimension and i have selected YTD as measure.
    Please help.

    Hi,
I stumbled across SAP note 1506275 today which dieals with the issue, but unfortunately is not helpful at all. What SAP are saying is: replace the pipe with a comma. Well, this quite obviously gives a different result than the one you were aiming at with the pipe in the first place, but that's the official answer.
Now, I'm wondering, has anyone successfully used the pipe, and in which service pack of BPC? MS or NW? I'm on 7.5 NW SP7 and the pipe casuses the error message mentioned in this post.
    Cheers

  • URGENT HELP BPC Park N Go does not work when VBA Project is protected

    Hi
I am using NW BPC 7.5 client sp07 and the park n go feature show a dialog box with the message to disable VBA Protection but I need the protection, is there a work around.
Urgent help project is meant to be signed off today.
    Thanks

    Hi
Yes we are using native excel protection but having it protected in excel or not has no effect on the vba project being locked and the trust access with vba option is enabled, the MS version worked with vba password but only after we unlocked it and took the files offline n then online again to get the temp files added to the vba project n then protected it again.  This workaround does not work in NW.
    Thanks for your replies.

  • Help on scripts used in bpc

    Hi All,
Hope you can help me in know
where to find some help doc's on scripts used in BPC and coding in SSIS packeges.
And does BPC internally convert scripts to SQL script or MDX?
And can i use both SQL and MDX in single logic file?
Any help will be greatly appriceated

The BPC logic engine converts the "SQL-style" script logic syntax into true SQL, that's executed against the data in the fact tables.
MDX script logic is executed against the Analysis Services cubes; I don't believe that much conversion is involved here, but honestly I'm not an MDX expert, so I could be mistaken.
You can mix both in a single logic file, subject to a clear understanding of how *COMMIT and XDIM_Member, etc. work to scope a particular block of code. The BPC Admin guide (also in the online admin help) is the key reference guide for this.
But the most important piece of advice I can give is, don't write MDX logic. Only use it (as sparingly as possible) for raios (division) in member formulas, where you need to evaluate a formula at various points in the hierarchy (not just at base members). For everything else, use business rules or SQL logic.

  • Transformation help BPC 7.5 NW

    Hello Experts,
We are on SAP BPC NW 7.5 SP08
I am looking some help in maintaining the transformation file.
I am loading data from application to another application using load data using Load data from Info provider with selection package.
My source location has length of 12 (example : 10-1000-A080) when i am mapping to my target i need to load last four (i.e A080). My source technical object name is /CPMB/Q3IESYO
    Transformation file:
LOCATION = /CPMB/Q3IESYO  ( but I need to load only last four char.)
When i load similar using flat file with out header then i can use like LOCATION = *COL(5,9:12).
I know we can use conversion file here but that is throwing some error so i am looking is there any option without using conversion file.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    Hi Sri,
You can use the JavaScript Conversion functionality in order to achieve this. It is documented on help.sap.com.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75_nw/helpdata/en/bpc_nw_index.htm
    Data Management-->Data Conversion Maintenance
In the text there is a section on this Titled - Javascript can be used in the data conversion
See the excerpt from help below which directly addresses your issue:
Javascript can be used in the data conversion
Mandatory: Precede the Javascript code with the following string: js:
You can use Javascript code in IF statements.
        Example Example
The following examples illustrate Javascript string manipulation commands:
            js: %external%.substring(0,2)
This example returns a substring of the string contained in external.
You would use the above substring JavaScript method to grab the last characters of your member value. If you have varying string lengths you would need to use this in conjunction with the string length function in JavaScript.
You could also achieve this by using a start or end routine BADI....

  • How to install BPC help file

Can somebody point me in the right direction for installing the SAP help files for BPC.   I have installed BPC, it's configured and working, but a user says there's supposed to be help file and I can't find anything about them in the installations and master guide.

As indicated above, help files do exist in MS version within the application.  Perhaps you're inquiring the NW version which does not have the help file within the application.  In that case, you need to go to help.sap.com and find the BPC help file for NW.
    The right navigation would be
help.sap.com->SAP Business Objects->Business Planning and Consolidation->SAP BPC 7.0 version for SAP NetWeaver.
You will also find the help file for other versions here as well.
