  • Clear history is not working

I have used Firefox for years and have always set the Privacy tab to "Clear history when Firefox closes". Tonight for some reason it started not working. After closing Firefox I can open it up again and am signed in on all my websites. As you can imagine, this is kinda startling. How to fix?
I just realized this started happening pretty much moments after I installed QuickTime, I don't know if this is related.

I'm not sure if "hang" is the right word, but occasionally Firefox will not close after I click "x" and no matter how long I wait to start a new session, I get a message that tells me it's still running. I have to open Windows Task Manager to close it manually in those cases. This was simply that the Privacy settings were not working the way I had them set up for years. After I turned my computer off last night and on this morning, it seems to be fine now.

  • History autocomplete not working

just updated the browser to the most recent release. my history autocomplete is not working and i cannot scroll down the location bar to see the sites i have visited. i have my privacy settings set to remember my bookmarks and history, just want to know what i can do about this issue? i had gotten used to only typing a few letters to reach my most visited sites. thanks

Same problem here. I have Firefox on several machines and OS (XP and Ubuntu [edit: Win 7 too]). However, the bookmarks file is the same in each.
None of the location bars suggest (autocomplete) features work now. I tried deleting the places.sqlite (bookmarks) file and the bar began working again, but all my bookmarks had lost their "[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon favicons]". When I replaced that places.sqlite file with my original (including the favicons) the location bar again ceased working.
I highly doubt that the upgrade to 3.6.11 would corrupt every places.sqlite file I have on multiple computers. That leads me to believe that there is some kind of bug in 3.6.11 that messes up the location bar (especially if your bookmarks contain favicons). Hope some kind of patch can be found.
Edit: Just updated Firefox on Windows 7 with same results. I even backed up the places.sqlite (so it could not be corrupted) file before updating then used the backup file when the location bar failed to work. Even restoring with the backup file didn't work - again, this can not be due to a corruption issue.
Finally, I noticed that one (only one) of the autocomplete bookmarks I had selected prior to updating FF in Ubuntu was actually retained. Is there some other file where autocomplete data is held? I wish I knew why that one bookmark is still able autocomplete while all the others will not (note: this is only in the Ubuntu install all other FF installs (in XP/Win7) bookmarks will not autocomplete.

  • Bookmark and show all history functions not working

After upgrading to FF20 the Bookmarks function button is not working. Star/bookmark this page/import from profiles list don't work. • All drop downs on forms or in history do not work -

since update - all drop downs do not work - on navigation bar - internet forms that have questions that require an election from a drop down field - and the auto type feature. The boxes act like they want to open but are closed as soon as they appear. This is a major problem as most applications have drop down boxes for questions or security questions.

  • SAPGUI 7.20 PL4: Input history is not working

    Hello,
we're on the way to roll out SAPGUI 7.20 PL4. Now I discoverd a serious bug: Local input history isn't working anymore.
I switched on tracing on SAPGUI to see whats wrong, an the cause is simple: SAPGUI uses comma (,) instead of dot (.) in the generated SQL command for the local MicrosoftJet Database engine. So here is a excerpt from the trace log:
    Local DB: CSapHistoryDb::GetHistoryList: SO_VBELN-LOW
Local DB(Error): CSapHistoryDb::GetHistoryList: Microsoft JET Database Engine Syntaxfehler (Komma) in Abfrageausdruck '(HistFieldname = "SO_VBELN-LOW") AND (HistTime >= 40478,353102)'.
Local DB(Error): CSapHistoryDb::GetHistoryList: Microsoft JET Database Engine Syntaxfehler (Komma) in Abfrageausdruck '(HistFieldname = "SO_VBELN-LOW") AND (HistTime >= 40478,353102)'
So, I know the bug, I know the case. Whats next step? Is the bug already known to SAP and fixed in the next release or should I open an support case?
    Walter

Thanks for you answer, but of course I reinstalled it yet (several times). The problem / but shows on every workstation I tested with (Windows XP SP3 32bit and also Windows 7 64bit).
I'm pretty sure the bug is caused by locale setting (we're located in germany). I suppose somewhere deep in the code of SAPGUI is a line like
    sprintf(sql, "select foo from bar where fobar > %g", timestamp);
and the programmer isn't aware that there are systems where LC_* isn't set to "C" or something...
Remember, we germans use comma as decimal separator, the rest of the world(?) uses a dot. So if I change the default locale setting on the workstation to use dot (.) as decimal separator, SAPGUI input-history works. But I dont't want to change this setting on >100 workstations (and an don't know if it breaks other software...).
This bug is new in 7.20, with 7.10 we never had this problem.
So I think I will open a support case at SAP.

  • Firefox won't load any websites but other browsers connect with no problem. error message: connection has timed out. deleting browsing history did not work.

I also tries removing firefox and reinstalling it - still did not work.
I checked - the firewall wasn't blocking firefox , so it's not that.
As far as I could find my antivirus (AVG) also was not causing the problem.
I'm at a complete loss - any ideas what has gone wrong?

Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''Network.'''
Look for '''Configure How Firefox Connects''' and press the '''Settings''' button.
    Check the settings.
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

  • Firefox history tab not working.

My problem is with Firefox history tab, after the last system restore, it simply won't work. i mean after heavy browsing, it still show blank in the history tab.
I usually perform Backup and Restore of my PC.
I used Moz Backup 1.5.1 to restore my last Mozilla backup after that, no webpages are shown in the history tab.
    I need that history.
How do i restore or get it working.

Thank you Bittu22, but unfortunately it didn't work.
I am beginning to wonder if it has something to do with Roboform, which i use in conjuction with Mozilla.
Not able to decipher the problem.

  • Maximum Number of Objects in Local History does not work

In our Production system, I have configured the Maximum Number of Objects in Local History to be '10'.  I do not see any queries in the dropdown.  I have executed and changed queries since I made this change.  None of the users can see a history log.
In our Dev system, the Maximum Number of Objects in Local History is working as expected.
Is there a system-wide setting that overrides my personal setting?
    Thanks.

you could have a consolidated DSO with the keys alone  and see if you can have an alternate design using an infoset instead....

  • History does not work correctly in Firefox when setting base tag?

It looks like there's a bug in history.js that makes Firefox work incorrectly with History when the <base> tag is set in the HTML that runs the Flex object.
We are not using the Flex-generated HTML, because of the way our application is built and one of the things that is different in the HTML that we run the Flex object in is the presence of the <base> tag.
The <base> tag is set in our case to http://www.ufxbank.com/fr, and the full URL of the page with Flex is http://www.ufxbank.com/fr/trading.aspx.
What happens is that the function setDefaultURL in history.js in its "if (browser.firefox || browser.opera)" part makes a call to "window.location.replace" with the value of "#", which in our case replaces the location to "http://www.ufxbank.com/fr/#", which brings a different page in the browser.
I had to replace the code in history.js to be "var newloc = window.location + "?#" + def;" instead of the original "var newloc = "#" + def;".
Does anyone has a better solution?
Is it a bug in the template that should be fixed?

    Welcome to the forum.
When you say delete the index, I think you mean delete the
    TOC?
This is a known problem with Firefox. You have books with
links to topics. If you remove those and have the required topic
immediately below the book, the problem will go away.
See other posts and my site.
Please post a bug report as Adobe need to fix this.
