No HTTP Connection until after multiple reboots.

I seem to lose my HTTP connectivity but FTP seems to work as well as local network connectivity.
After the computer has been on for 24 hours plus and I wake it up from sleep mode I lose the ability to see HTTP traffic (websites).  But I was able to see a pdf from a site (this may have been cached).  When I reboot an unknown app seems to hang
the shutdown and I frequently have to hold the power button to shutdown. When it does reboot I have to shutdown from the "Select User/logon" screen. At this shutdown it goes just fine.  Then finally upon the next restart it will then connect
to internet websites.
Other computers on my local network seem to connect to the internet just fine.  So it does not seem to be a router issue. I have tried the other users on the computer and they seem to work just fine also.  I have scanned the computer for Viruses
via MacAffee and nothing was detected.  I have ran IPConfig commands (release, renew, etc) and nothing seems to work. I do see the DNS server for my internet provider (Comcast).
I think the failure to shutdown is a clue.  When I worked on the Win 98 a similar issue used to occur because of a network card driver issue.  I have checked my driver for updates and I am running the latest version.
Summary.
No website viewing
Local network seems fine
Hangs on shutdown
Needs two shutdowns to start working
I have ran ipconfig (renew, release, etc)
I have updated the Driver for the network card
(Wireless or Cat-5 network connection same result)

Hi,
Firstly, Please check NIC driver properties in Device Manager, Make sure the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" was unchecked.
Secondly please check Event Viewer if it identify this problem.
About Device driver update, If your computer was OEM, it would be better to check update at its official site.
In addition, to fix this problem, please try to use command netsh winsock reset to reset winsock for test.

  • After multiple reboots, FF will start hanging and require re-install

I have a really strange issue. All of a sudden, FF started responding VERY slowly. Not completely hanging, but taking upwards of 3-4 minutes to start up, and then every action is another 3-4 minutes.
I uninstalled and re-installed, which appeared to fix the issue. However, after rebooting a few times the issue appears to resurface, requiring another uninstall/re-install cycle.
Has anyone else had similar issues? Any resolution?

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Photo iPod won't connect until iPod is rebooted

Every time I connect my 60 GB Photo iPod to my computer (via Firewire) it is not recognized unless I reboot the iPod (menu/select). Once it restarts, it connects without a problem. I have to go through this procedure every time I connect. Once it is connected and recognized by the PC, it will stay recognized as long as it is plugged in, but once unplugged, the reboot is required again.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Stan
Asus P4C800-E (home built); 300 GHz P-IV; 1 GB Ram   Windows XP

I realize that the ipod can be reset and brought back by holding down the home and wake button for 10-20 seconds.
It just that it's weird that it does that...

  • Satellite Pro M70 can't refresh IP address after router reboot

My Laptop isn't able to repair it's wireless connection if I reset the router. I have to power cycle the laptop to get it to connect again as it always gets stuck on getting network address... Any known issues about this with software patch or anything...?
    Thanks
    Huw D.

    Hello Huw
As far as I know there are no known issues with WLAN connection and I dont know exactly what happen with your WLAN connection. After router reboot try to disable WLAN card for a short time, enable it again and try to establish connection again.
The settings are the same and nothing must be changed.

  • Problem PAP2T reconnect after router reboot

    Good Day at all,
I am italian user of VOIP system, and i find a big problem with the usage of
PAP2T adapter with italian NGI network and/or SQUILLO sip.
The problem is common to many many many, italian users:
when the WAN connection restart (after router reboot or temporaly internet failure) the adapter PAP2T don't want reconnect to the SIP server, i have test many configuration, and differet boot sequence of the router but the problem is always preasent.
but, if i change the SIP port with one other different, the system go online immediatly. when after this, i try to insert again the original SIP port, the systerm go down again.
(if i insert the original SIP port after Half hour, the system stay online)
I have disabled all protection and firewall of the router for test and make Port Redirect for all renge of port used form PAP2T but the problem is again preasent.
I have one XLS file with the detail of debug with all two cases.
At this poind i don't know if is a problem of server of NGI/SQUILLO (www.ngi.it) (sip.squillo.it) or is a problem of PAP2T firmware.
    CAN HELP ME?
    Best regards.

It seems to be the problem with a router partaially it is pap2t firmware problem. At least I had a long investigation on a similar problem. The internet connection drops, but pap2t does not know it and keeps sending NAT Keep Alive and Registration Messages. The Internet connection comes up with a different WAN IP. But the NAT table of the router (udp connections) is corrupted. This is a known problem in *nix, and many routers have linux based firmware. To restore udp packeges going out the solution is to issue
    echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_conntrack_udp_timeout_stream
    sleep 10
    echo 180 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_conntrack_udp_timeout_stream
After a long correspondence with firmware developers of my router it was implemented in the router's firmware. I do not have this problem now. It can be also fixed in pap2t firmware. Pap2t should not send NAT Keep Alive Messages if the registration fails.

  • Mac Mini doesn't connect to wireless until after logging in

I'm having an issue with my Mac Mini in that I am unable to connect to it via Screen Sharing in Leopard until after I have logged on to the machine physically (from the login splash screen).
I believe it has to do with it not connecting to my wireless network until I log on, it does not respond to ping or anything else until I log on, which seems to indicate that it doesn't connect to the wireless network until after/during log on.
Am I the only one having this problem or is there a way to make it connect to my wireless network even though nobody is logged in?

I'm not aware of a way to do what you are looking for, but I'm far from being an expert! It might be better to look for specialist MacOS help from user in the discussion area at http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1222

Since I updated to firefox 3.6 I keep gettin multiple pop up windows. This did not happen until after the update. The pop ups appear as regular windows so pop up blockers can not stop them. Why has the new update made my laptop more vulnerable. updates are supposed to be improvements!
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== as soon as I updated to ver 3.6

Im having the same problem, I updated my Iphone 4S to 6.1.3, shortly after that my phone had no audio. It was working fine one minute and then stopped. Was listening to music when sound gave out on me. It wont ring, phone just vibrates even after turning off vibration option. I've tried all the options listed and nothing. My phone has never been jailbroken either. If I connect the earphones is works perfectly. On one of my last calls received, phone's ringtone was heard for about 2 seconds before muting and just vibrating. Ringtone sounded perfect, speakers did not sound damaged.
What else could be done? I've read several post regarding this and it seems like Apple has no solution to this yet. Very dissappointed.

Hi, My Z510 never connectss to bluetooth but after a reboot. Activating/deactivating bluetooth does not work. Any tip ? Cheers,/D

I received the following response from Nokia support:
"Thank you for emailing the Nokia Care Center.
In response to your inquiry about your Nokia N8-00, we would like to inform you that even when you set the automatic connection between the two devices, you will still need to connect manually because the Automatic connection is used for you to not to enter a passcode anymore whenever you connect your device to your Bluetooth device. In summary, Nokia thinks this annoyance is an intended "feature". This issue is NOT solved.

  • Macbook connectivity lost after waking up from sleep mode or rebooting

Being an Ex-Microsoft user , I am sad to say that Microsoft products still beats Apple's MAC in stability for certain functions.
For instance, this Macbook laptop does not seem to be able to reconnect to the home's gateway/ router (or any other gateway, for the matter) after it wakes up from sleep mode or rebooting.
I've read several similar posts on this topic in the internet and am convince to say that it is not the gateway/ router that the Mac is connected to giving the problem as there are other computers(Microsoft-based) connected to the same gateway working perfectly fine.
Furthermore the Fujitsu laptop I was using previously had connected to the gateway flawlessly... until the darn-thing broke down (grumble....grumble...)
So far, it seemingly so, that no other person has managed to figure and resolve this one out yet. Also, no Apple support staff has responded nor helped resolved other related-connectivity problems.
Is there a real hope for us??

The previous solution only worked for a few days.
I have another fix from Apple that is working (for now):
Go to the network preference pane and create a new location by using the location pull-down menu. Call it whatever you want.
Select the new location. Choose the little tool icon dropdown under the left column of services and choose "set service order" Drag things around so that airport comes first and then ethernet. Save, apply, do what you need to do to save all of these settings. Restart the computer.
There might have been some other steps, but these are the main and most important parts.
The default configuration for service order is wrong and the computer gets hung looking around for a bluetooth or firewire network connection. After every major system update, check that the service order is set right--it could get overwritten.

How do I get into iTunes to access Netflix, when I get "iTunes unable to connect until time has been set", after submiting my password?

You need to follow the instructions in this article that best apply to your situation:
Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
If you do not have a backup in either iCloud or iTunes, then you will have no way to retain the information on your device because you will have to restore it in order to access it again.

  • Multiple http connection

is it possible for me to make multiple http connection to server?
I'm trying to send data for about 40kb, i send the data into 80 parts ( a part about 500 bytes)..
is it possible to make about 80 thread in the same time??
I do this way to reduce time consumption...
    Help me please..

No, in this case, more threads will most likely slow down the data transfer:
    - more threads means more TCP connections, means more overhead
    - CPU scheduling will make it slower than using one thread, they can't work symultanious anyway
    - One thread is probably already capable of fully filling the network bandwidth with data

The iPhone is working, as designed and advertised.  In this case, the user failed to educate themselves properly, either by proper research or asking the right questions, before purchasing the device.
I understand that the OP failed to do research. But then, I wasn't replying to the OP. I was replying to Chris. I have Verizon. I can talk and use data at the same time with my Droid Maxx. Therefore, the problem is not just with the network. It would be technically possible for an iPhone to do that on Verizon/Sprint if Apple had chosen to use a different chip, such as the kind other phone manufacturers have elected to use.
Of course, this is probably all irrelevant to the OP's issue. It was merely a point of clarification, especially for those people who are used to being able to use both voice and data at the same time on Verizon. When they switch to an iPhone, they are often surprized at the limitation.
    Best of luck.

  • Why does my Iphone 4s connect to my Wi-Fi network and latter in the day fail to connect until I reboot the router

Why does my Iphone 4s connect to my wi-fi with a password and latter in the day fail to connect until I reboot the router?  Is there a setting on my router that would avoid this issue.  All my other devices connect alright

OK so it now looks like on my iPhone 5 iwth iOS 6.1 the LTE network is conflicting with my home wifi (Airport Extreme). At the Apple store the LTE signal is lost in and wifi works like a charm. At home tired all of the "fixes"
    -No security
    -WEP
    -Reset network,
-Complete reset and reload on the phone
    -ETC ETC ETC
Just turned off the cell radio and it worked. Turned on the cell radio but kept LTE off and it worked.
Apple let's get a fix so we can use your "great" phone. I have just received a BB Z10 from work and it seems to work flawlessly.
