No icon created on install so I can't launch the pgm

I installed the Photoshop CS4 upgrade on top of my previous Photoshop CS. It goes through the install, prompts me to enter the last serial number which it accepts, says it's installing, looks normal, says it's done and I exit.
At that point there is no icon on my desktop and no Photoshop CS4 listed in my programs. I try right clicking an image to "open with" and it's not listed as an option there either. I looked in my program files and it is there under adobe and all the files are listed but there is no icon in those files that I can use to launch the program.
Is the program actually installed? How do I launch it. Does anyone know what the problem is with this or how to solve it? Any help would be appreciated as this is really annoying. Thanks.

In the Photoshop CS4 folder I don't see a photoshop.exe. The only four things on the top level are "photoshop.lib", "photoshop.exp", LegalNotices.pdf, and the read me pdf.
It sounds as if your installation didn't work.
I have those files and 73 other files/folders in there!
I think it might be necessary to uninstall from the Control panel; run the Adobe Clean script, and start again.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Recently purchased HP Deskjet2480 all-in-one printer. Worked fine until I tried to scan - Could not open Solution Center. Got the following message: "Parsing error in file C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\HPDigital Imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml". Tried uninstalling and re-installing 4 times (both on my own and then following the HP Diagnostic Utility 4.2), with always the same results. Go to the home screen, and swipe left-to-right. Type the app name in the search oval that appears, and see if it appears there.

Try resetting Photoshop Preferences. Use your Photoshop start icon to launch Photoshop and immediately press and hole Shift+Ctrl|CMD+Alt|Option keys Photoshop should Prompt you with Do you want your Preferences deleted. Reply yes. Photoshop should then delete your user ID preferences and then create a default set of preferences for your ID and start successfully.

NOTE: you can skip this 1st step.
Step 1
I'm on Win7 so the paths might be slightly different... C:\Users\(YOUR PC ACCOUNT)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\bnelgkol.default\bookmarkbackups ... Find the "bookmarks-[DATE].json" you want and copy it to the profile you want. You may want to change the date to a name you will recognize.
Step 2
Then on your browser "Bookmarks>Show All Bookmarks or Ctrl+Shift+B ". This will bring up the Bookmark Organizer, I think they call it Library now. From there click "Import & Back up>Restore" this will bring up a drop down with your back ups. If you followed step 1, find the json you added and select it. If you skipped step 1, from "Import & Back up>Restore" select "Choose File..." Then browser for the json you want to import. Which should be in a similar location as mentioned in step 1.
NOTE: "AppData" is a hidden folder, will have to set show hidden folders to be able to see it.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Moving photos from photostream to your library just imports them, it doesn't remove it from photostream, therefore photostream won't disappear.
Photos in photostream can't be edited, you can only edit photos that have been imported from photostream.

Double-click the Home button and swipe Task Bar to the right. Check the Rotation Lock on the far left of Task Bar.

Either use copy/paste and then format/style as desired, or take it to Pages or WORD and insert chapters - which may still require resettling.
If you're looking for a 1:1 port, with all styles and layout intact, you may be dissapointed, tho.
