NO IM FOR FACEBOOK????

I signed into my facebook account via Lumia 720. (Settings-Accounts)
Fortunately I can browse Facebook,read and write IM's whilst using the application. What is really frustrating,is the fact that I simply cannot receive Facebook IM's directly in my phone's message folder???? **bleep**?
Whenever I change my Facebook status on my phone to "available",it tries to connect for 5 seconds,after which it shows "cannot connect to IM".
I red a few forums online and it seems to me that this is yet another Windows Mobile irregularity!!? Does anyone have a successful solution for my problem? The other alternative would be is to buy a SAMSUNG phone and give Bill Gates a call to tell him what I think of the windows software.

I login to Google (or what used to be the GoogleTalk service) every day for about three hours or so.
I have not noticed any Login issues suggesting that during those times that there has not been an issue with the servers.
I don't have Facebook but have not seen other posts about a potential issue with the server being down.
I do not use Two Step Verification with Google.
I do use their "Less Secure Apps " setting as they have move away from SSL for Secure Logins and regard it as less secure requiring the setting.
As Linc says a Restart or a Delete and Re-add the accounts is the most like way to fix it at present.

How can I add a custom made share button for Facebook?

Hi!
I have built a custom "share"-button for Facebook (with an additional layer for rollover/active states, using photoshop), but I don't know how to make it work?
What code do I have to use, or can I just create a link using my button? What would the adress be?
I googled this but couln't find anything that helped...

It doesn't appear so simple Tobi. The image is pulled from Facebook's servers and the button in itself is an altogether different HTML page from Facebook shown on your site within an iFrame.

I too had exact issue what you were experienced, then I went to Apple autorised service center and submitted my earpods, their it worked with all versions of Apple iphones, but it didn't worked on my 3gs. The service technician suggested for OS upgrade.Then I came home and I took the backup and upgraded 5.1 to 6.1 as he suggested, also it didn't worked. I was totally frustated and suddenly I got an idea!. What a funny thing here is, a safety pin resolved my issue, I took out all dust which was there in the jack hole. Then I check my earpods, it was amazing you know..MY EAR PODS WORKED!.

Clear your cookies for Facebook as long as you remember the password for it.

The little icons to the left of website names (such as the little white 'f' in a blue box for Facebook) on my list of Bookmarks have disappeared so that I now only have the names themselves, which makes it harder to navigate.

Normally, when I click on Bookmarks at the top of my screen, the list of websites that comes up includes a little icon to the left of each bookmark. Now I only get a list. No icons. What has happened to the little four-colored flag for Hotmail, the 'f' in a blue box for facebook, and all the rest? It's now much harder to navigate.

How do I get past the "connection untrusted" pop-up for Facebook?

For Facebook, as well as FB apps like Words with Friends and Trivia Crack, I keep getting the "Connection is Untrusted" pop-up. I have to keep going out and coming back in, many times as often as a dozen tries, before the game app or the FB home page will load. How can the sites be "untrusted" when I'm in there 20 to 30 times a day? I want to override the "untrusted" decision.

Open this chrome URI by pasting or typing this URI in the location/address bar to open the "Add Security Exception" window and check the certificate:

* retrieve the certificate via the "Get certificate" button
* inspect the certificate via the "View..." button

Try to rename the cert8.db file (cert8.db.old) and delete the cert_override.txt file in the Firefox profile folder to remove intermediate certificates and exceptions that Firefox has stored.
If that has helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file.
Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previously stored intermediate certificates.
Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.
If that didn't help then remove or rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) as well.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Hi all. I can't get "Click to Post" for Facebook or the share sheet icon for Facebook to work in 10.8.4. I've tried deleting and adding the Facebook account, and that doesn't seem to fix it. I also tried going to Activity Monitor and killing Notificaton Center. That didn't seem to solve the issue, either. Any other suggestions for how this might could be fixed?

I am facing the similar issues on my OSX 10.8.4, I have tried to delete and add the FB and twitter account back, but no luck. I also went to activity monitor and quit the notification, still no go. Looks like a bug issue. Any one aware of the fix, pls help. I really do not want to reinstall the OS.

          I found out that I had 'http' instead of 'httpd' in the statement where I

IChat shows numbers instead of names for facebook contacts, how to fix?

I just started using iChat for Facebook Chat, but it shows numbers instead of names for most of my contacts.
Is there any workaround for this?
Adium shows names just fine, but I want to use iChat instead.

Hi,
With AIM names there is an Option on the AIM pages to change your Display name. (in your Account Settings)
If you have an AIM Buddy list and stick in my Screen Name (ralphjohnsr) you will notice it displays as Ralph johns R with the Upper case letters and spaces.
I am wondering if FaceBook have done something similar but not everyone has changed (or more likley Facebook are using the "wrong" list or haven't told anyone).
The strange thing is only the two of you have mentioned it so far so there is probably some other explanation.
On the Address Book Front I have added (level 4) to some Buddies that I happen to know via these Apple Forums (under the previous software there were only 5 Levels of posters) when we used to chat using iChat on a more regular basis.
iChat does allow you to Create Nicknames in the Info Card but this Adds them to the Address Book.
(it also has difficulty with lots of Nicknames that are the same such as Dave for David)
It would interesting to know if Adium "Sees" the numbers instead of names. (Or ProteusX if anyone has it)

It's also possible that you have a cookie that keeps you logged in, but in that case, signing off from Facebook should end your session.

I have a Verizon Wireless Prepaid Pantech Caper phone and I was wanting to know if and/or how I can add a shortcut for Facebook on my main screen....I already have Facebook on my favorites page as a link but I was hoping for a shortcut so I wouldn't have to navigate through several pages to get to it.....I have already tried this site but there is nothing compatible with my phone.

It should be possible, although you'll have to replace the existing optical drive, as the second bay can only accomodate 3.5" drives such as a zip drive.

Removing the old drive just involves unplugging the ribbon and power cable, undoing four screws to remove the drive and carrier from the computer and undoing a further four screws to remove the drive from the carrier. Installation of the new drive is basically the reverse process. You'll also just need to make sure the jumpers on the back of the new drive are set correctly to master.
You may want to make sure the drive is supported by the OS first though, with or without the help of PatchBurn:
