No image sin my podcast

Hi,
I have images on my podcast track and in my episode cover. I am able to Send podcast to iTunes with no problem, but when I play from iTunes there are no images. Well there one for the cover but its not even one I've used in the podcast.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've had it working before.

I too am having this problem.
I am attempting to move our lectures for our school over to an enhanced podcast format. My desire is to move Keynote slides over into GarageBand to create the enhanced podcasts, then export etc.
I downloaded the trial IWork '09 to test the method. Creation seemed to work fine. Was able to drop the Keynote slides right into GarageBand, but when I export to disk, or iTunes, and view in iTunes, only the audio plays. It does not show as enhanced. presumably do to the .m4a format.
Is there a work around? Having the enhanced podcast work in iTunes is the main point, as that is the method most students will use.
Can't see purchasing iWork '09 if the setup isn't going to work between GarageBand and iTunes. I would like to though.
Is there a way to get enhanced podcasts to play properly in iTunes when exported directly there, or imported from iTunes?
I'll buy iWork if it does! If not I'll be forced to use OpenOffice and export to flash and go that route...not ideal, but I need something to work.
I'm using a:
MacBook
Mac OS X 10.5.6
GarageBand 4.1.2
iTunes 8.1
iWork '09 Trial

  • Image for main Podcast page

    I have a question. I was able to add an image to my podcasts that I am sending to iTunes and thats great. However, I do not know how to make my main image be the same? By main image I mean when you do a search for a podcast the 1st list of results you see. Some have an image and others are the blue default image> THAT is the image I want to change.
    Second question: How do I delete a podcast that I sent to itunes that is blank? For some reason it has no audio, its playtime is 0 seconds.
    Many many thanks in advance

    The 'Podcast Image' which appears in the Store page is referenced in the feed in the 'itunes:image' tag. If you've managed to get this to appearw in the Store you've done this correctly (and you're lucky - some people have been waiting for weeks for their images to appear).
    The small version which appears in the Search results is drawn from the same tag: for some reason it always takes rather longer to appear than the main image. As its taken from the same tag there isn't really anything you can do about it except wait.
    If you want to remove an episode simply delete it from the feed and re-publish. It will disappear immediately for new subscribers but it will take a couple of days before it disappears from the Store.

  • Missing image in my podcast...

    Hello,
    I was wondering if anyone has help for a missing image on my podcast...
    I created my podcast feed with a program called "feeder", and submitted the podcast. Apple added the podcast but only displays the "generic" podcast image. When I do an iTunes preview in the feeder program, it shows up fine.
    I am hosting the image and have double checked that the image url is proper, and it is... is anyone else having this issue?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Sorry for my bad English skills. I tried to describe the current issue in the best way...
    Following szenario:
    - podcast image in iTunes store is visible now
    - podcast image in my iTunes is not visible (after downloading an episode)
    - podcast image of the episode is visible (when playing the episode)

  • How do I put an image on my podcast in the itunes store?

    How do I put an image on my podcast in the itunes store?

    The image which appears in the Store page is referenced in the 'itunes:image' tag in the feed. As you are probably using a program or an online service to create your podcast, rather than hand-writing the feed, you will need to look in their Help to find out where you input the image or the reference to it.

  • How do I view images in enhanced podcasts in iTunes?

    I've been making podcasts for years in Garageband, then exporting to iTunes to view in my classroom.  Suddenly in the new version of iTunes I can't find the "view artwork" for viewing my podcasts.  What am I missing?

    Hello,

  • View images from enhanced podcasts on AppleTV (2nd gen)

    Is there a way to view the images embedded in enhanced audio podcasts through AppleTV? I listen to a number of photography podcasts that discuss particular images but the audio isn't much good if I cannot see the image. Thanks.

    An example would be any audio podcast of the Martin Bailey Photography Podcast or the History of Photography podcast by Jeff Curto... Is there a way to view the images embedded in enhanced audio podcasts through AppleTV?
    Okay... I selected the Jeff Curto "Photo History - Class 6 Spring 11 - Photography and Painting" podcast for test purposes. The easiest way to view this specific file on the TV2 device seems to be to simply lie to iTunes.
    1) Download the podcast in your normal manner.
    2) Delete the podcast from iTunes and send it to your trash can.
    3) Drag the file back to your desktop.
    4) Change the M4A (".m4a") file extension to M4V (".m4v").
    5) Re-import the file to your iTunes library.
    Your audio podcast will now load/play on the TV2 as if it were a video podcast.

  • The image for my podcast is displaying in Itunes preview pages, but does not display when I subscribe

    So the image arwork is appearing here:
    http://itunes.apple.com/au/podcast/wa-families-of-the-future/id538653708
    However after I have subscribed, the artwork for this one doesn't come up in my iTunes podcast folder. The related RSS feed for this link is:
    http://feed.viostream.com/891c439f-75f2-47aa-93d9-22508893b5bb

    While the image which appears in the Store page is referenced in the feed, the image which appears when you select a downloaded episode after subscribing is not: it has to be actually embedded in each episode's media file. Please see this page for a full explanation:

  • Dropped images in enhanced podcast

    I have been creating enhanced podcasts and am noticing that a handful of images will not display after I've transfered the file from iTunes to my iPod. All files are saved and imported in the same way, yet less than a dozen out of 50-60 images won't display on the iPod. It plays and displays fine in iTunes. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. And if so what is a work around?
    Thanks!

    I'm having the exact same issue. My enhanced podcast (this is the first one I've done) is only about three minutes in, but has a ton of images, all of which play fine in iTunes, but do not play on either my iPod nano third-generation, or my second generation iPod touch. I have a hard time believing that the processor speed on those devices isn't fast enough to keep up, given that they can do so much (especially the iPod touch) with graphics. I really was that Apple would get on this, but in their relentless pursuit to push certain things, a lot is getting left out.

  • Image Issues for Podcast Subscriptions ...

    Hello,
    I have 4 podcasts ...
    1 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=129007909
    2 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=218809522
    3 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=218809521
    4 - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=218809523
    Podcast 1 was submitted many moons ago, and the correct image is displaying. I simply edited the RSS feed for the other 3 (from the first one) and submitted them to iTunes. They were accepted.
    After this, I realized that the image was not uploaded where it was supposed to be. So, I uploaded the image.
    Is there anything else I need to do? Or does it just take some time for iTunes to update the podcast?
    Thanks for any help you can give!
    Donald B

    From Apple's technical specs page...
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html
    If you need to request that iTunes update information about your podcast immediately, you can ping the iTunes server in one of two ways: using an XML POST or by entering a URL in a browser.
    The XML POST should be addressed to https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast and formatted as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <methodCall>
    <methodName>weblogUpdates.ping</methodName>
    <params>
    <param>
    <value>PODCAST_NAME</value>
    </param>
    <param>
    <value>http://FEEDURL/</value>
    </param>
    </params>
    </methodCall>
    where PODCAST_NAME is the title of the podcast, exactly as it appears in the <title> tag, and FEEDURL is your podcast feed URL.
    You can also ping the iTunes server to update your podcast information by entering the following URL into a browser:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=FEEDID
    where FEEDID is your iTunes podcast numeric ID. You can also use:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?feedURL=http://FEEDURL
    where FEEDURL is the url for your feed.
    Regardless of the ping method you use, iTunes will return an HTTP 200 code.

  • Help!  'itunes:image' Tag For Podcast on iWeb

    Guys some how I have deleted the 'itunes:image' from teh RSS feed on my iweb Podcast site.
    Any ideas who I can get this back?
    Cheers
    Phil

    You've managed to change the feed address to
    http://www.mod-life.net/Filmsploitation/The_Podcast/rss.xml
    and you need to change it back. I assume that you have changed the title of the page from 'Podcast' to 'The Podcast'?
    It still has no 'itunes:image' tag.

  • Images for individual Podcasts

    Hi..
    This is my first post, I have just setup the following podcast for our radio show. How do I put individual images on itunes for each of the files within the podcast. I have an image for the overall podcast, but not each file..
    Podcast - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=212288229
    Also, I want people to be able to view the podcast via www.brokenhookerdeejays.com/podcastfeed.xml, it seems to bring up the info. on a mac computer but not PC's?
    Many thanks..

    Thanks for you reply re: images..
    The second part I was asking about was that I would like my feed (www.brokenhookerdeejays.com/podcastfeed.xml) to look like this - http://feeds.feedburner.com/podcast411a, so that people who don't use iTunes can still get the Podcasts. The feed I have created opens up correctly/similar to the 411 page on my Mac, but people using PC's seem to struggle? Any reason for this?

  • I cannot get a consistent image for the podcast title in itunes.  Any suggestions

    I have the image I want appearing in the itunes store.  The individual files being podcasted by feedburner contain the right info and their own individual episode images work just fine.
    The problem is that the title for my podcast in my itunes library shows an inconsistent image.  Sometimes it is the image from a different episode and sometimes it is the generic "podcast" logo.
    Currently the image is being pulled from a previous episode "December 18th" which is a PDF file.
    I have no idea where to enter the information to alter this or make it consitent like.  I believe I have the appropriate image links inserted in my feedburner account but I have yet to see it show up anywhere.
    I'm a bit new to the podcast/ itunes world so any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    The image which appears when subscribing kis not referenced in the feed: it has to be actually embedded in the media file. When you subscribe to a podcast with a different image embedded in each episodes, the image in the latest episode is the one which appears in album view, grid view and in the top section in coverflow view - either the first Chapter image, or an additionally embedded image if there is one. The image in the currently selected episode appears at bottom left. Obviously this image cannot appear until the episode has been downloaded.
    If you are seeing inconsistent results I don't know why this would be - possibly if you don't have embedded images the Store is defaulting to another image, though I would have expected it to default to the generic image. Image references within 'item' tags in the feed have no effect.

  • Changing Displayed Still Images for Podcasts

    I just got iWeb up and running today. Everything is working great, except I can't figure out how to change the default thumbnail images that are assigned when I add new video files to my Podcast page.
    Several of my video files start with a black frame and fade in, which is causing iWeb to display a black image for the Podcast on the Entries page. Is there an easy way to change this image without re-editing my videos?
    I've searched the help menus and the discussion posts here. I was hoping that changing the associated artwork in GarageBand would fix this. I figured out how to add an image and resize it, but when I brought my video file in, the image I had edited added just disappeared and was replaced by a marker symbol.
    I know the quick fix in DVD Studio Pro: open the inspector for the button, uncheck "motion", and set the little timeline to the frame you wish to use. Please help!
    My other idea is to try to configure a links page for the videos myself, so that I can control the image used and just add a hyperlink. Suggestions?

    I had the same problem and looked all over as well. I
    ended up reopening my video clips in Final Cut..
    adding one frame at the start of my still frame and
    then rerendered it out to iweb. it works.. shows up
    in the itunes store as well.
    I can try that, but that ruins the fade in from black effect. I'm hoping there is an easier way. If not, maybe future versions...

  • Podcast feed images not displaying in Podcast app

    Several of the podcasts I subscribe to are not displaying the feed image in the Podcast app on my iphone.  These are podcasts that I get from Itunes and I can subscribe, download, and play them fine.  They have an image in itunes but for some reason, they do not display in the app.
    An example is 60 Minutes - Full Audio and HandgunWorld Podcast.
    Has anyone else had this issue?  I would appreciate any advice.  Right now I just have gray boxe tiles with the name of the Podcast.  These are podcasts I subscribe to from my iphone.
    Thanks,
    Rick

    Ok finally figured it out.  Nothing to do with images at all. The imagePath was set in the app, but even though the default that was set to was the correct path it was being overridden by a flashvar.  And each of the 3 loaders in the wrapper were setting it differently.  The one for when you didn't have the right flash version wasn't setting it at all.  The one for when you had the right flash version was setting it correctly, and the noscript version was setting it incorrectly.
    It was the noscript version that was running for safari even though javascript was enabled.

  • Embedding Image in Items of a Podcast

    I recently added a audio podcast & it works well.
    I tried to add an image of the podcast to individual items but failed.
    I need the code to embed the image in each item please.
    Thank you.

    The artwork is embedded in the audio file rather than referenced in the feed file.
    Having created an image (ideally 600x600):
    Open iTunes and add the audio file to the library. Select it and hit command-i. Select the 'Artwork' tag. Drag your image to the space. Close, and when you play the track you should see the artwork. Drag the file out to the desktop and upload this version to the server. You can delete the copy in iTunes if necessary but if you are storing the file elsewhere you should replace it with this new version (which looks just the same, and note that the cover art does not appear in the QuickTime Player).
