No images from timeline on output monitor?

After installation CC: “Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects and Photoshop”, when I play from the timeline in Adobe Encore CS6, the output monitor gives only sound no images?
We have already install the newest drivers from Matrox.
Please tell me what to do?
Best regards,
Koos Wolf

Presumably by "Output monitor" you mean a monitor attached to the Matrox device - which I assume is an MXO2?
If so you will need to set Encore, as well as Premiere, to output the timeline through the MXO2.
In Encore go to the Edit menu, Select Preferences, then the Audio/video Out tab.  Go to the Video Out section of the panel, and select Matrox Player from the drop down list.
Now click on Set Up, and adjust the settings in the dialogue box to suit your format.

  • External monitor resizing image from timeline

    Hi Good Folks
I'm using an 800 x 600 output from FCP and trying to get my VGA external monitor to show me the canvas. I have tried all the permutations of A/V device output - here's what happens: my canvas is playing a clip which is 800 x 466 in origin. I moved to the bottom of the screen as needed and when it is not playing back, the image on my external monitor is correctly seen. When I hit playback, it shrinks vertically about 50% or so... can't figure out why! The external monitor is set to 800 x 600. This worked before with a different version of FCP.
    Any advice appreciated!

    Mr. T-Cat
Thanks for replying. I understand you read and respond to many many posts... I am doing a video art installation in a large gallery and I "map" my video parts onto walls or areas which need to be tweaked with distort parameters or other modifications while in place. I hook up a video projector via VGA to my laptop and finish the video in the gallery. My video projectors work fine at 800 x 600. For video projection 800 x 600 is a standard video resolution. This is a problem with FCS3 as I have used this technique last year w/ FCP6. Motion 4 outputs the correct image and does QT7 & 10. I must have screwed up my sequence settings somehow? I followed another's advice and made an 800 x 600 ProRes422 seq. setting. When I drag a clip into the timeline a pop up window implies that External Video is not optimized, asks Yes or No - advice was No. FCP still says clip doesn't match my sequence settings and crushes the vertical height when playing back even if I drag a full 800 x 600 ProRes clip into my sequence, or say Yes change the seq settings to match.
    Thanks
btw, I will the program Isadora outputting 3 video streams (AIC @ 800x600) through a Matrox TH2Go into the three projectors each set at 800x600. The Matrox only does a 2400 x 600 output on my MBP thus the resolution.

  • Canvas Remains Still While Output Monitor is Fine

Recently the Mac Pro station I work on was upgraded from FCP 6.x to 7.03. Noting that everything worked fine prior to the upgrade and everything works fine after the upgrade except this new problem:
When scrubbing the timeline audio and video playback fine on both the external monitor and the FCP canvas window. When I playback the timeline the output monitor works fine but the canvas window remains frozen on the first frame where the playhead was. As soon as you stop playback the canvas will update to the current and correct frame but it remains still or frozen during all playback except scrubbing.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Oops, sorry, wrong answer - let me try again:
Go to the menu Final Cut Pro > Audio Video Settings and click on the A/V devices Tab. Make sure "Mirror on Desktop" is selected:

  • Photos Look Blurry on NTSC monitor when played from timeline

When I play back jpeg photos from my timeline on my monitor, the pictures look a bit blurry, especially right at the end of my transition, such as a cross dissolve...When I stop the playhead on a jpeg, after about 1 second, the image becomes very sharp on the monitor...once I start playing again, the image becomes a bit blurry!

    Dave,
On both my G4 and G5, I've encountered the same problem from time to time and here's the workaround that fixed it for me:
Apply a filter to the images. I use the 3-Way Color Corrector since many of the photos could stand a little tweaking for TV anyway. Render them and they should retain their original sharpness.
I have no idea what causes the problem, why it only affects some of the images and not all of them, nor do I know why re-rendering them after applying a filter works ... but it does for me.
    -DH
ps: another symptom that this fix takes care of is when you see a small shift (1 or 2 pixels) in the image's position as it comes out of a transition.

  • Printing images from CS6. Where is the Output box?

I have been successfully printing images from CS3 on an Epson 3880. Now that I have had to upgrade to CS6, I have a big problem. In CS3 When I went Print-> Photoshop Manages Colors to choose an ICC color profile, there would be a companion Output box, where I could drag the Transfer slider down to brighten the image. I can't find Output in CS6! Since choosing Photoshop Manages Colors turns off the printer's color etc controls, I'm stuck with dark prints and no way to control brightness. Any help HUGELY appreciated.

Print-> Photoshop Manages Colors to choose an ICC color profile, there would be a companion Output box, where I could drag the Transfer slider
"Photoshop Manages Colors" disables the printer sliders under CS6 Photoshop
a proper Source-to-Print conversion should 'match' your monitor
just for grins try reviewing the updates/troubleshooting/workflow here: printing CS6
also recommend using a known good file like the PDI WhackedRGB reference file available on my link...

A scan from string function can be used as per the attachment. The double \ ('\\') is in the format string in order to interpret the '\' characters in your input string as literal characters and not special formatting.

    Breezley,
OnLocation CS3 used Direct Draw to create the video window.  In Vista, you may have noticed that OnLocation CS3 would disable 'Aero' themed desktops as they did not support Direct Draw.  Windows 7 does not have this functionality, so you must disable the Aero theme manually to see the video in OnLocation CS3.
To do this, right click on open desktop and choose Personalize.
    This will display available Themes.
Scroll down to the 'Basic and High Contrast Themes'.
Choose any one of the basic or high contrast themes.
    Restart OnLocation CS3.
This should bring your video back into view.

  • 27" iMac, HDMI/DisplayPort adaptor, LCD TV as an output monitor

I'd like to know few things before I dive into the world of FCP/FCE.
Is it possible to set your Samsung 52" Hi-def LCD TV to act as your output monitor (or secondary screen however you call it) from the DisplayPort on the 27" iMac? If so, how do you set it up?
Basically I'd like to view what I'm working on the FCP out to the 52" TV as if I'm watching the HD cable TV.
I already bought the HDMI/DisplayPort adaptor (1080p) made by Kanex. It's also designed to carry digital audio through the USB.
I did manage to duplicate the Mac's desktop on the TV but the image quality wasn't what I'd expect from the 1080p HD. I am using the hackable Panasonic GH1 camera.
Anyway I did try to set it up for the iMovie but couldn't.
I went to a few Apple Stores nearby but no one could answer my question.
    I'd appreciate your expertise.
    Thanks.

The display port sends out a COMPUTER signal. Even if you convert it to HDMI, it is still a computer signal, and not a VIDEO signal. Different characteristics. And the computer image isn't the proper gamma, it doesn't show interlacing properly among other things.
For proper video monitoring, like you'd see it on your TV from the cable service, you need an HD Input/Output device, like Matrox, AJA, Decklink, MOTU. Unfortunately with an iMac, your choices are VERY limited, if they work at all. The MOTU V4HD is your only option, as it uses a firewire interface, and doesn't take over the FW bus (Unlike the AJA IO HD).
What you have might be fine just to see things bigger, but not good for any critical judging of your image.

  • Blury Images on Timeline

I am new to Premiere Elements 9 or any other Elements for that matter. I am trying to put together a video made up of stills. All of my stills, which are a mix of jpg and bmp files are sharp in the organizer. But, when I move them into the timeline they become blury in playback. I have check all settings and made sure everything was set to high quality. I have used Windows movie maker in the past and all images from that program are sharp. I would hope that Elements with all of it's great features would do the same. I am sure i am missing something here. Any help anyone can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Badger.

    Have you rendered your timeline?
Press Enter when you see red lines above the clips on your timeline. When the video is rendered, the red lines will turn green and your video should look much more like your final output.
Also, be sure to NEVER use photos larger than 1000x750 pixels in size in Premiere Elements, per my books and the FAQs to the right of this forum.

  • How to playback Timeline on TV/Monitor?

Uploaded a vide clip (MPEG4) from my computer to a new PE11 project. Originally shot on a Sony Cyber Shot camera.
Video plays fine in Timeline but I can't figure out why it won't play on my Computer Monitor.
Capture device is a Canopus ADVC110.  Firewire from Canopus to Computer.
    Edit/General/Playback Settings...
[x]  Desktop Video Display During Playback (de-highlighted)
External Device:  NONE (no other option available)
Export/External Device:    NONE  (no other option available)
Disable video output when in the background (unchecked)
I'm baffled.    Any suggestions?  What am I missing here
    THANKS!
    John

Did you get a chance to read the Adobe document on TV/Monitor?
Adobe Premiere Elements 11 * Previewing movies
What kind of TV do you have...
    a. LCD TV which doubles as TV or PC monitor (VGA Connection).
    or
    b. Smart TV  where the workspace can be duplicated from computer to TV Monitor (HDMI connection).
Please consider and then let us know the outcome.
    Thanks.

  • Output monitor not playing in realtime

I cannot get my output monitor to play in realtime. I have sound playing in realtime out of monitor but fotage only appears on screen when clip is stoped in the timeline of fcp

    #8 External Monitor Viewing.
    Shane's Stock Answer #8:
A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
    5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section
