No images in editing window, but there in Navigator

I just installed Service Pack 2 in my Vista Ultimate 32bit operating system.
After the install I opened PS, CS4 and at first every thing looked ok.
I then opened an image file, it came up in RAW, I made initial adjustments, and clicked on open image.
The image shows in the Navigator window, but there's nothing in the main editing window.
It remains blank.
If open another window like my browser over PS, and move that window around it leaves a partial image of the browser on top of the image editing window.
I had been using Photoshop just prior to installing SP2 and everything was working ok.
I'm hoping that someone else has experienced this problem and has a solution.

Not really, but did you try to re-install your graphics card driver or a newer one? This kind of issues is almost always related to something going on there and some tools require a special compatibility update for SP2.

wine, i am so sorry to be a pain but I get keep getting error messages during installation and it is not successful.
flip4mac I was able to install but I can't seem to make the iso work,
it mounts perfectly displaying 3 files:
autorun.inf
files
index.hta
clicking index.hta will display the website with all the lessons on the left side, click on it and it will play the video on the website, it works on windows but I can't seem to make it work in Safari.
I tried Opera, the website seems to appear but not all of the words, when I click for the lessons on the left side, it only opens an opera browser on a black blank browser.
Please help since I have just shifted to Mac this month, I tried Mac because I believe I can run GNS3 better in it.

Like I said earlier, if the iPod is Windows formatted it should work on a Mac because Macs are capable of handling FAT32 files. If it's Mac formatted it won't work on Windows without the aid of 3rd party add on software.
I'm still puzzled as to whether or not you need to sync the iPod to iTunes on both Mac and Windows computers.

I cannot save any changes made in the Preferences box. I go to Edit, then Preferences. When the window opens, I can check or uncheck boxes in the General window BUT, there are no Cancel or OK buttons at the bottom of the window. HELP!!

There are no "Cancel" or "OK" buttons at the botton of my "Preferences" box that allow me save any changes that I might mak in the "General" window. The box opens without problem and changes can be made in the "General" window however, these changes cannot be saved. If I close the window with the "X" in the upper right hand corner and then reopen it, any changes made are lost. I'm running Windows XP and would appreciate any help that I can get.

Oh good, that one's pretty straightforward. When you make that change in the pane, the OK is the active button. For example, I just quickly changed mine to "Import CD and Eject", and you can see that the OK button is blue in my screenshot:
... so to make that setting stick, all you need to do is to hit your "Enter" key, and that should press the OK.
Unfortunately, I don't have any music in the iTunes library on the PC I'm working from at the moment. So I can't check my "Automatically download album artwork" checkbox.
Ed, could you check for us which item is active after changing that setting? (If it's the OK button, then hitting enter should press the invisible button, just like "When you insert a CD".)
Changing "Import Settings" is trickier, because after you get out of the "Import Settings" subdialog, the "Import Settings" button is active. So you then have to hit the tab key precisely five times (to get OK active again) and then hit Enter to get Import Settings changes to stick.

Launches to camera window but there is no camera

iPhoto is behaving differently now than it used to. Previously, when launched, it would open to my library view. Now, it is launching to the camera view even though I don't have a camera connected. I think this started with an update, not sure, I don't use iPhoto very much.
There is an eject button which does nothing since there is no camera.
This isn't causing a big problem or anything, but it is annoying. Is there some configuration step I'm missing?

Is there a USB Drive, or USB Flash Drive attached to the computer? Sometimes having such a thing formatted the same as a Camera Card (A Windows FAT format) will cause this behaviour. Solution: Go to Image Capture in your Apps folder and use the Preferences to that app to decide what you want to do when a camera is connected. As some other device is being confused for a camera, set it to do nothing. The only difference is that you'll have to launch iPhoto when you do attach your camera.

Loaded PHP Image works on Windows but not Mac

I have a php file that generates a string image, the php file
changesheaders to jpeg and it becomes a image. In my code im
loading the .php file into a mc. In all windows browsers its
showing image correctly, but in Mac its coming up red.
If you view the php file it self it will display the image
correctly.. could it be a php.ini problem?

No Image in my cell but there's an image in J2ME wireless toolkit

I'm really lost here. I coded my java code and run it in J2ME wireless toolkit and the image is there, I put the image on the res folder and the image file format is .PNG, its working in the default color phone. However whe send it to my cellphone, sending the .jar file, and after installation, as I run the program, I cant see the image, all UI is ok but not the image. Thanks a lot

I'm a beginner in J2ME world and it might happen that I'm be missing some impt step from coding to transferring.
Do I have to configure anything?
Im I right by saying, only the .jar file is then transmitted to the device?
Lastly, where should I put my images? what folder to be specific?
I can't run the application correctly even trying to run it over the OTA....

Using Lightroom 5.5: I can sort images by edit date, but I cannot find a display of the actual time and date of the edit?

Often when working intensely on a large project which spans over days I forget to mark the start and finish time for each session. When billing clients for time this can create problems. I thought the perfect solution to this problem would be to sort catalog by edit time, and then by view the time stamps. I could then find the first and and last edit for a session and quickly translate to session time. The only problem is I cannot find a place with LT displays this information.

It seems to be an oversight in LR -- the metadata field "lastEditTime" is available to plugins via the Lightroom SDK, but you can't use that field to define a custom tagset for displaying in the right-hand-side Metadata panel.
However, here's a workaround that might work for you: In the right-hand Metadata panel, select the "EXIF and IPTC" preset, and the field Metadata Date will show the date/time of the last time LR wrote metadata back to the file. In Catalog Settings > Metadata, make sure "Automatically write changes into XMP" is checked. This will cause LR to write develop settings or metadata changes (keywords, captions, ratings, etc.) back to the file soon after you make the changes ("soon after" is typically less than a minute).

TS3276 Following above directions, I clicked on Window, but there was no option for Connection Doctor, the next step. Where does one find that?

When asked to povide an email password (after you set the mailbox up & have been using it), you are told to go to Window. Then choose Connection Doctor. There is no such option under Window. How do you get to the Connection Doctor?

I just checked again in Mtn Lion, which is what should be on your new machine, and see this in Mail. So, all I can suggest is for you to reinstall the OS. Boot into recovery mode (restart, holding down the CMD+R keys). Alternatively, contact Apple's Express Lane and let them deal with it, since it's a new machine.

"Attachment" option missing from edit window

I recently finally made the upgrade to Snow Leopard. Now the "attachment" option is missing in iCal?? I still have the "url" link option within the edit window, but the "attachment" line is no longer there. Prior to the upgrade, I was able to add both a url link AND a file attachment to an iCal event.
Did something go wrong during the upgrade or is this simply the "new & improved" iCal?

That blows that they removed the attachment option -- why would they take away such a simple, but VERY useful, feature as part of an upgrade (i.e. improved version) ?!?!

Key command for playing region in sample edit window... doesn't work?

I'm trying to get the play/stop key commands to behave as they did in L7. I want to use the enter and zero keys on the number pad to start and stop playback in the arrange window. I want to use the space bar ONLY to play back the selected region when I'm in the sample edit window.
(reason being when you're flying back and forth between the two windows, it's all too easy to start the transport in the arrange window, an annoyance when editing individual pieces of audio in the sample editor)
When I assign the space bar to the key command "play/stop region" in the sample edit window, it only plays the entire waveform... i.e. it doesn't play only the highlighted region. This must be a bug. If you click the little speaker icon ("prelisten") in the sample editor, it will play the selected region only, but there's no hot key for this button.
Oddly, the "windows showing audio files" play/stop key command, DOES play only the selected region in the sample edit window, but unfortunately, this key command behaves globally, so if the arrange window is selected, it stops and starts playback there too, which I don't want.
Any ideas (besides a bugfix)?

Prelisten is defaulted to ⌥M. You can reassign any keycommand though. See p. 159 of the LP8 User Manual.

HI I am pulling my hair out i want to export a prem pro project to mpeg2 because it needs to play and windows but there is no audio I have tried all setting can some one please help me is there a plug in or mpeg sound card

There are two checkboxes to look at:
Export Audio in the main settings panel
Multiplexing (tab) and choose DVD, or similar, rather than "None."
Even with Export Audio checked, if Multiplexing is set to None, you will get two separate files, one Audio and one Video.

How can one scape from the edit window of an appointment without saving changes?

I did move accidentally an appointment with invitees and it opened the edit windows, but I can´t escape from it without sending uselessly the changes to invitees !

When I record an audio track, there is a waveform. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing?

Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.
