No Images loading in Safari 6.0

Hello,
Mysteriously Safari has decided not to load any images on any website I visit.  After trawling the net for a while I have tried:
Deleting the Cache.db file from the library file
Checked that disable images is not checked on the Safari Develop drop down.
but neither of these have worked. Does anyody have a fix for this?
I am currently using the Mountain Lion 10.8.1 system and Safari 6.0.
Many thanks
Nik

When images appear for a search in safari, you must continually scroll by finger to keep the images loading. Is this a bug?

Tried that but no change. Details - open up safari and go to yahoo - for the main search at the top, I put in Bears. It shows pages of thumbnail pics. tapping once on a thumbnail gets you that image and then tap again to get added info. At that point, it fills the screen. But in  order to see more info I have to drag a finger upward to reveal more of the details. I then have to continually do that in order to reveal more details for the searched item. It then pops up to the top each time and repeating that process many times in order to see more of the image data. Don't know how to fix this.

  • Safari image loading two times ?

    Hi,
I have a website that loads the contents for an ul tag throug an jquery ajax call every 10 seconds. In this chunk, I have an img tag.
I see the image loading, then at the next load the image blinks one time, after that the image is ok, until I select another image. After selecting another image, it shows correctly, and upon next load it blinks one time.
When I look in the Web Inspector - Resources, I see the ajax call being made followed by loading the image. The next time I see the ajax call again followed by loading the image again. From here on, I only see the ajax call every 10 seconds, and no image reloading.
Can someone explain to me why the image is loaded twice ? Why is it not loaded and cached in one time ?
I see this on iPod Touch, iPad, Safari Desktop.
If this is a bug, does anyone know a work around to prevent the image to blink one time ?

    I have created a testcase
    http://www.maakmenietgek.com/test6
Best is to open safari, open the webinspector in the resrouces, and then browse to this page.
I should load with a red square, after 3 seconds it should load a green square, and 3 seconds after that you will see the blink. In webinspector you can see that the green image is reloaded.

  • IWeb Masked images not loading in Safari

When I apply a mask to images in iWeb they will not load properly in Safari. They load fine in FireFox. When the mask is removed the images will load in Safari, re-apply the mask and no go.
Have done the usual reset safari, etc.
    Any suggestions?

Well, I narrowed it down a bit more. Its not the mask thats causing the issue, its the mirror or drop shaddow. With those two affects applied the pictures will not load in Safari. Remove them, and they load fine.
Would love a fix for this, as those affects really dress things up, but its not a deal breaker.
Thanks to those that offered suggestions.

  • Images on some websites not loading in Safari

I have browsed some related posts on this forum but have not found a solution that works for me. When I go to certain websites, JPEG images won't load at all. One of these websites is the www.weather.gov website, where the image for each day of the week shows only the blue question mark icon in place of the usual cloudy/sunny/rainy image. When I try to load the image alone in a new tab or window, I get the following message:
    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /ifps/text/images/ on this server.
Apache/2.0.46 (Red Hat) Server at www.crh.noaa.gov Port 80
Opening the same page in Netscape (7.2) allows these same images to load, so this access permission message is somewhat misleading. But the same problem seems to occur in Internet Explorer (5.2.3).
This problem appears to be account-specific rather than system-wide because when I log in using my son's account on the same Powerbook, this problem doesn't occur and all images load properly on this website when using Safari .
I have tried resetting Safari, emptying cache and deleting the Safari plist from my user profile, but the problem persists. Is there something else that I should look at to solve this problem?
My Internet access is through Comcast Cable and this problem started occurring close to the time I upgraded to Tiger from Jaguar several months ago and has been a minor nuisance that has not gone away. After an attempt to run the OS X 10.4.4 Combined Update resulted in having to do a system reinstall, I have not tried again, so maybe this update will take care of this problem.
Any help with this would be appreciated!

OK, I solved the problem from my own post. This particular problem was in fact specific only to this one website. The reason for this problem was that I had created a bookmark for the www.weather.gov website after entering my local zip code. I had been using this bookmark for quite a while to have quick access to my local weather, but the JPG files that the website used to display the sunny/rainy/cloudy images on the page had been changed. Therefore, when I clicked the bookmark to bring up this website, I got the Access Forbidden error and none of these JPEG images would load. When I went directly to the www.weather.gov URL and re-entered the city and state in the 'Enter your city' text box, presto, the images came up right away. I guess the lesson is to update bookmarks every now and then when they include search-specific parameters.

  • Safari (7.0), images load black

    Hello,
After upgrading to mavericks and safari 7.0, some images from websites that I visit load up black. This seems to be only apparent on safari because I installed google chrome just to see if it would be universal but the images load fine on google chrome. Also, it's interesting how I can see the images during the brief moment when I zoom in/out on the safari browser. I already tried to reinstall the os, repair disk permissions, and delete the cache files. Any help would be appreciated.
    example of how images are
example of how images are while I am zooming in/out

From the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.

  • Pages that load in all other browsers do not load in Safari

Our Web application uses HTTPS and a Thawte-issued 256-bit AES SSL certificate. In IE, Firefox, and Chrome, the pages of our Web application load absolutely fine. In Safari 4.0.5, the pages do not load in the browser. When looking at the source for the page, there absolutely is content there, but appears to be cut off after a certain number of lines. I've tried a couple of pages, and there doesn't seem to be anything incorrect about the HTML at the line directly after the last one that Safari was able to pull back.
I read in some forums that this may have to do with content chunking and/or variable content lengths. I read in others that it may have to do with serving images from non-HTTPS servers while using an HTTPS connection. I think the former sounds more likely.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? This is not the known "page doesn't load in Safari, but then does when I access it in another browser" issue. It doesn't matter how many times I successfully access the pages in other browsers. They are never rendered in Safari.
Does anyone know how to control the behavior of Safari (or even of Apache HTTP Server 2.0) when it comes to responses of variable content lengths and/or response chunking? Or am I completely off the mark?
    Thanks,
    Mike

It turns out that Apache's mod_jk.log, which is used to store the output of communications between Apache and Tomcat, had become full. Once it reaches 2 GB, Apache can't write to it anymore. Once we stopped Apache, stopped Tomcat, rotated out that mod_jk.log, and restarted both Apache and Tomcat, our Web application started working again in both Safari and much more reliably in Chrome.

  • When using private browsing to view image results in Safari 5.1.3, only the first two rows of results are visible, the following four or so rows display greyed out place holders, and the safe search button is inoperable. Suggestions?

When using private browsing to view image results in Safari 5.1.3, only the first two rows of results are visible, the following four or so rows display greyed out place holders, the remainder of the results page is blank, and the safe search button is inoperable. When I turn off private browsing and refresh the page, everything works again.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I have got the same behaviour after the last Safari Update to 5.1.3. It seems that Safari now handles some scripts in a new way. If you debug the Google Website, you will see, that there is some Javascript Error, that seems to prevent to write into local cache. After some searching I wasn't able to finde a solution for this problem, other then disabling Javascript while private browsing to prevent the script loading. You then are able to use Google with the old layout. The option to disable JavaScript can be found in the Menu "Developer", wich has to be enabled in Safari in the options first.
In my opinion this is a bug that is now occuring, because Apple changed something in private browsing and that has to be fixed by Google now, to run again. Or we will have to wait for 5.1.4, as you can read online Apple will change and bugfix the javascript engine in that version, perhaps this fixes the problem as well. I hope so!
If anyone is in the developer program perhaps you could test this with the beta of 5.1.4 and tell us if it works.

  • Full image resolution in Safari

Safari doesn't render images at their full resolution, so even zooming won't get you a 1:1 pixel mapping. It helps to "Save" an image to the picture roll and view it in the Photos app, but that's so much work.
Isn't there a way to view only the image, like desktop Safari can? I just want to read a web comic, nothing huge.

No, I know exactly what is going on here. Back in december I was away on vacation and was using my iPad to copy all the raw images from my camera SD cards over to a ftp at home. I after the first few attempts I was noticing I was "uploading" a 5kX3k image in resolution, but mobile safari would only have a greatly reduced image uploaded. Luckily I was able to check on a laptop and saw that all my EXIF data was being preserved with the original image resolution. What I believe is happening is that the Mobile Safari in iOS devices have a scaling function on images so that it will preserve some of the image quality without having to wait for long periods of time to load an image. Your images are still the same size as the original upload, it is optimizing the image for viewing because you should not need a 1:1 pixel representation of LARGE images in mobile safari, if you do then you should be using a different device.

  • IMAGE LOADING DELAY - HOW SOLVE?

Safari allows check box to display images on loading a page or turn them off.
However, unlike IE, there's no menu selection to 'load images' once at the page. Is there a solution I've missed? Example: OtherWorldComputing.com has many images. IE will load it, Safari won't (it just hangs on the images.) With the 'display image on opening page' unchecked the OWC pages load but to then get the images in Safari seems impossible. I tossed cookies, cleaned the cache, run Disk Unility today and reset Safari some weeks back) but it didn't help. What's the solution other than IE which I wish to avoid if possible.
    Thanks!!

MINI 1 GB Ram First Version   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Amber
Help me understand why it might or might not work, please
I must be honest here & say that I really don't know ! The 4.2.2.1/2 works like a dream for some people & not for others.
Overall, ( & I can only comment on 10.4.x & safari 2.x ) safari & dns lookups/caching can sometimes seem like a work in progress. I haven't been able to locate much useful info on exactly how the various parts integrate so far, but I will !.
Anyway, you're on 10.3.9 which I've never used, but I'd try running system maintenance , either using a 3rd party app.... or by entering the commands in Terminal ( I'll check which ones are correct for 10.3.9 in a minute )
How are you connected to the web? do you have a router that you can enter dns settings for? ( try the 4.2.2.1 & 2 in there )
Also try creating a fresh new location in System Preferences-Network & switching to that; this has helped others with the same problems as you.

  • Some GIFs and JPGs appearing with yellow "wash" when loading in Safari

    Hi,
I've flicked through forums, google, and called my top graphics people but nobody can seem to help, or has ever even heard of, my issue.
Here it is in a nutshell:
Some GIFs and JPGs appear with a yellow "wash" when being loaded in Safari. I can confirm this is happening on 3 different Macs, and even on a PC running Safari.
    Safari 3.1.1 on Windows XP
Safari 3.1.2 on Mac OSX 10.5.5
Here's some examples of it occurring:
    http://staging.tomatosource.com.au/test/bad.jpg
    http://staging.tomatosource.com.au/test/bad.gif
You might need to refresh the page in Safari a couple of times to see the flicker but it's there.
    I've tried:
    - resaving images with and without "progressive" and "interlaced"
    - a variety of different colour palettes
    - taking a screenshot of the image, putting back into Photoshop and resaving
Has anybody seen this issue before? Unfortunately I can't go live with this site until I fix this very strange error.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Jase.

Totally independently from your current problem, Safari is cr@p. Dump it.
All Apple applications, from the Finder through Preview and iPhoto to Safari, assign Monitor RGB to ALL untagged images, even if they were created or saved in sRGB.
The only current properly color-managed web browser is Firefox 3.0.1. Just keep in mind that you have to enable color management deep inside the guts of Firefox.

  • Image loading problem in OS X browsers

    This is a really perplexing.
When I'm surfing around, Safari refuses to load some images on pages. It happens randomly but most reliably on MySpace.
Here's what I typically see on a user's MySpace page...
    http://img198.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ss0zv.png
Safari states in its activity window for the two blue question marks that it "can't connect to host".
If I cut and paste the URLs in question to Mozilla or Firefox, I get the same "cannot connect to host" messages.
However, if I were to open the same profile on my Windows PC, all browsers, here at work it shows just up fine.
In fact here's a link of one of those pics which doesn't show for me using any browser on my Mac.
    http://myspace-421.vo.llnwd.net/00677/12/41/677381421_m.jpg

Thanks in advance for your help.

    You are welcome.
BTW, is it just MySpace you are having problems with? If so, the way their pages are coded may be the cause of problems with non-Windows browsers.
In Safari, you can always go to Safari > Report Bugs to Apple when you are on a misbehaving page to report the problem. Clicking on "More Options" will allow you to attach page source code and/or a screenshot (you will not get an acknowledgment, but they do look at all bug reports).

It has to be an OS issue if it's a problem across all browsers right?
I'm really stumped at this one and would be appreciative if anyone has any ideas.

  • My Muse website won't load in Safari!!!

Today, my website, www.realtorindfw.com, constantly fails to load in Safari, yet opens just fine in Chrome and Firefox. Any suggestions why?
I have a preloader that spins until all elements are loaded and this only displays for about a second on all browsers except Safari. In Safari, it just spins forever because apparently two images never seem load. Maybe it has something to do with my specific Safari, not sure. I already deleted my cache and restarted Safari. Does the site fail to load in other Safari browsers? Thanks.

This problem has persisted all day long, yet the moment I posted to this forum, it seemed to resolve itself. That didn't last long though, now the problem has returned. Also, I didn't specify above, but I am only referring to desktop browsers.
Why exactly would a website load quickly in one browser, yet completely fail to load in another?
Any suggestions on how to get the website to load properly in Safari, when it already loads perfectly in all other browsers?

  • Partial Web Page/Image Load on iPad 3

I have an iPad 3 and on some websites I am consistantly getting only a partial page load. I have checked other iPads at the Apple store and 95% work fine, but there is still the occasional one that doesn't fully load. I can reboot the iPad and refresh several times and everything will eventually load all the way. It seems to be only on certain iPads though they have the same OS version and Safari version.
The loading issue is also inconsistant. Sometimes some images will load but others are gone. Sometimes some images load partially with a colored static look. Other times the images will load but be pixelated. Sometimes I get the blue question mark box. Sometimes images are duplicated or links are incorrectly positioned.
I cannot duplicate this issue on older iPads.
The site loads fine on MAC and PC browsers.
Are there any known issues with the iPad 3 browser that would cause this issue?

This was driving me crazy as well on my brand-new days-old iPad, particularly since it seemed to only happen to mages on our portfolio site! And I, like you, tested several other iPads at the Apple Stores and Best Buys with different results.
In my case, resetting Safari's cache through Settings helped some images but then others would display oddly. Only after contacting AppleCare and being instructed to reset the Network settings (and then clearing Safari's cache again) has the problem finally gone away, and (knock wood) hasn't reared its ugly head again.
    Hope that helps!
