No Images - Rounded Corners
I have came across many people who belive that the only way
to round corners is to use images. I thought illd just let those
who did not know this isnt the case, and can be done with html and
css only no images no javascript. -

imho, you can't really say it's "Pure CSS" when you need junk
markup to make
it work.
I'd say this solution would be more elegant if it actually
relied on JS to
plug the Bs you need.
The title would be less catchy though ;-)

Illustrator not able to round corners properly (w/ image sample)
When designing a logo, I want to be able to round corners properly, i.e. mathematically. When I specify a radius of 20 mm, I expect a radius of 20 mm, not various random radiuses. Illustrator simply isn't capable of doing this properly. I find this very strange, as this is the leading vector editing tool for designing logos (among others).
As a result of this, I've developed my own "manual" method of doing this, but it takes some time, and it's not elegant.

(Note: When rounding corners, Illustrator doesn't even produce circular arcs -- they're a little deformed.)

In the previsous version of Photoshop, I use to do the following so that my pictures had rounded corners:
Open a picture
Click the layer mask button twice
Then use the rectangle tool to get my rounded corners on the preloaded image - Presto, all done!
This does not work in CS6. Does anyone have a better method? I just want to have rounded corners (radius 5) to my photos.

Rounded corners from image mask disappear with Drop Zone
Hi All,
I'm really stumped here. I'm on Motion4 and per directions from other posts I have used the following method to attempt a mask shape. The desired outcome is a photo that has a nice square shape with rounded corners.
1. Using a photo on the canvas.
2. In the layers menu, I click on the image and select, Add Image Mask
3. In the inspector I go to Image mask and drop in Frame17 from the contents folder.
The problem...every time the rounded corners from the shape seem to disappear. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? Or suggest another method.
Additional info from Image Mask Tab: Source Channel is set to Alpha, Mask Blend Mode is set to Add, automatically-I did not set these.When you say that the rounded corners seem to disappear, what do you mean exactly? Are they there at first, but then disappear after you start playing the sequence? Or do the rounded corners not happen at all?
If the corners start, but disappear after playing the project, then it probably means that the Frame 17 image from the content folder is not as long as the image mask. As soon as the Frame ends, it will stop providing the source for the image mask. Fix this by making sure that Frame 17 is at least as long as your image mask.
Alt way, and easier unless you're working in a 3D project, is to simply draw a rectangle mask around your photo and in the Mask tab of the inspector, adjust the roundness parameter until the corners are sufficiently rounded to your liking.

Settingup rounded corners background image
I need some help in setting up a background image that is in three pieces. Its a rounded corners background that will have text overlay in top rounded corner section, regualr text in middle area, and footer text in bottom rounded corners area. I will ahve two of these side by side.
So if I had a tables layout, it would be 2 column 3 rows. One rounded conrer set for each column.
I think Ive seen a tutorial on this somewhere but cant seem to find it. Thank you for any suggestions or pointers.
p.s. Im trying to use css for this. I tried laying out with tables, but there is a white gab in between each image. I know tables are considered taboo, so Im trying to steer away from them if possible.The button tab is kinda correct, but IM not looking for buttons, Im looking for an actual text box with rounded corners. I was trying to cut up the rounded corner box so I can insert a paragraph or two of text in it and not have to used a large solid image as background.

[Solved] How to force enable rounded corners in a theme on GNOME 3.16

I just recently started using arch (and I regret why didnt I use it earlier -.-, such a great OS). I put up Gnome 13.16.2 as my desktop environment particularly because I like its interface (rounded corners, the ui etc. Kinda reminds me of my fav mobile OS MIUI).
And I can see that most of the themes (almost all that I have installed infact) like to remove rounded corners and give a flat rectangle. Is there some way to force rounded corners by editing the theme? I did had a look at gnome-shell.css of theme and the "panel" portion of it didnt had any such part (or atleast I couldn't find it). Some help would be appreciated, really want those rounded corners as well as the theme.

If it's supposed to be proper XML, the right way would be to fix it and use an XML parser in your favorite scripting language to load it, read the other file, and alter the data systematically.
xmllint in the libxml2 package may be useful for checking XML syntax and reformatting.
If you know Python then you could probably use the xml.dom.minidom or one of the other standard XML libraries.
If it is in the format posted then the following script should do what you want, or at least provide a starting point. It's not the most efficient approach but it seems to do the trick.

Photoshop cc 2014 How to make one corner of image rounded
I wish to make an image with one or two rounded corners. Can some one explain how this is done or point me to a tutorial that works.
Now I see. You have to create a .png file with alpha channels enabled to have transparency on the corners.
First of all open you image. After that double-click on the Background layer on your layer window to be able to rename it. That will allow you to delete any part of it. After that make a curve with pan tool in the shape you want your round corner to be. After making the path right button -> make selection from path. After you selection is made hit delete. Save you image for web Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S and choose .PNG as a type of file you want to save.

Is there a way for export to create rounded corners?
I love creating layouts with Fireworks, but it always bothered me that it didn't recreate any rounded corners.
When CS6 came out with the CSS Properties window, I was happy to see that the CSS in the Properties window faithfully created my objects with rounded corners, so I had high hopes that the regular export would include this markup... but it didn't.
My current work-around seems very frustrating. I export my file as HTML with CSS images... I get a perfectly rendered page with one exception... the corners are still square. Then, I go back to Fireworks, open the CSS Properties window, then cut and paste the tags for the corners one by one into the CSS file.
It seems to me with such heavy emphasis on CSS integration, that the export function should include the this code too.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this still an unsupported feature?Use the CSS Properties panel to extract and copy CSS for the selected object on the canvas. It has no integration with the CSS and Images export workflow OR the HTML and Images export workflow (the latter of which produces a rigid, image-based, html table layout). HTML and Images export is really only suitable for clickable prototypes. CSS and Images export is really only suitable if you like re-writing all the CSS to match your normal workflow.
General workflow:
1) Add effects to vector shape (corners, drop shadow, glow, gradient fill, border, opacity, etc..)
2) Open CSS Properties panel. CSS properties for selected object are displayed.
3) Click the Copy All button in the panel.
4) Switch to Dreamweaver or your preferred web editor.
5) Paste the CSS into the desired class, id or element rule.
6) View in Live View or Preview in Browser to see results.

Box with rounded corners displays as rectangle in Web Browser
I am using the box control (IBoxObject) in my Crystal Reports with rounded corners. However the box displays as a rectangle with square corners when viewed in a web browser. I have tried this in IE 7.0.5730.13, Firefox 3.0.3 and Chrome 0.2.149.30 all give the same problem.
The interesting thing is that the boxes display correctly at design time and when exported to PDF, but they wonu2019t display correctly in IE/Firefox/Chrome. Here are the specific settings for the box:

Rounded corners on unordered list
I'd like to be able to have style my vertical menu, made with

unordered list, to have rounded corners. The menu is a fixed
width, but
the items could sometimes run onto two lines, so the height
of each item
needs to be flexible.
I created images called top.gif and bottom.gif for the curves
and when
I've done boxes I've made the bottom image a background to

However with the unordered list I don't really have two

Could could wrap the UL in a DIV, giving you two elements.
You could give the first LI and last LI custom classes,
giving you to
elements.
While not pristine, I often will use wrapper divs to attach
CSS too:

That works for me in that it keeps my 'style HTML' separate
from my 'content
HTML'.

DennisRounded corners in Web pages now can be done best with CSS3. A lot of contemporary browsers support them -- Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari. IE doesn't support rounded corners (not yet), but this will happen somewhere in the future...

Show size of rounded corners in Appearance palette

I often use the Rounded Corners effect on objects, and I think it would be useful to see the size of the rounded corners in the Appearance palette. That is, it would be nice to see it automatically, without having to click on "Round Corners" to open up the Round Corners dialog box. The strokes tool shows the width of the stroke in the Appearance palette, so why not Rounded Corners?

If you wish to have proportionately growing sizes with the same rounding radius, you may:
1) Start with a (non rounded) rectangle and Effect>Distort & Transform>Transform with the desired scaling and number of copies;
2) Object>Expand Appearance;
3) Effect>Stylize>Round Corners with the desired radius.
