Reinstall OS X Yosemite
Under some circumstances, you may need to reinstall OS X Yosemite. You can reinstall Yosemite while keeping your files and user settings intact.
NOTE:You may want to write down these instructions before going forward.
To start your computer from Recovery, restart your Mac and hold down the Command and R keys at startup. Then make sure you’re connected to the Internet.
Select Reinstall OS X, and then click Continue.
In the pane where you select a disk, select your current OS X disk (in most cases, it is the only one available).
Click Customize to select or deselect optional software.
Click Install.

  • I can send calls from Mac but incoming calls do not show up on Mac.

Just downloaded Yosemite 10.10 on 10-21-14. I can make calls on my mac but unable to receive calls on my Mac. No notifications for incoming calls on my mac. Everything else runs fine. Messaging and calls from my mac works fine. I am running IOS 8.1 on a iPhone 4s. I have a 2009 Macbook Pro 2.54 duo with 8 gb of ram.

There is no Adobe printer in recent versions of Mac OS. Look instead for a Save As Adobe PDF pull down.

  • How do I get FaceTime for Mac to stop ringing after answering an incoming call on my iPhone?

I have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled for iPhone and FaceTime and am able to make and receive calls splendidly with FaceTime. However, when I answer an incoming call on my iPhone, FaceTime will not stop ringing. This is a significant, loud, annoying issue for me, my caller, and everyone in my house. It rings for eternity, long after the call has ended, until the call notification on my Mac is either accepted or declined. FaceTime needs to know when the call is answered on another device and stop ringing. Is there any solution for this?

    This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
    Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts.

  • IPhone IOS 7.1 incoming call picture size now small. How can I get it to fill the screen like before?

Just had the upgrade to IOS 7.1 and now with an incoming call, the associated picture is just a thumbnail, instead of filling the screen.  Anyone know how to change this?  I tried specifically associating a picture on my phone with a contact and trying it, but still was a thumbnail.

This change that Apple made is disconcerting.  It shows that whomever is now in-charge of these decisions at Apple doesn't have what it takes.   There's something seriously missing with this decision and the change to less usability is incredibly misguided.   Who wants their contacts to appear in a little cartoon-like round bubble and the incoming caller can't easily be recognized??   As someone who has used a Mac since 1984, there's something seriously wrong with their design guidance.  Apple likes to create products that "delight" and this doesn't.

  • I have started getting spammed on multiple Apple products (iPhone and iPad) with FaceTime calls since the recent IOS update.  Is there any feature or sedtting I can use locally to restrict incoming calls to FaceTime without going to the carrier?

After calling AT&T tech support one more time, and explaining to them that the glitch was on their network, they admitted that the problem was at their tower...
I continued to use the phone on EDGE mode for two more days until the problem was fixed.
I even got a call back from a tech support guy asking me if my phone was working properly....
I wish they would have admitted to the problem before I sat at the apple store for 2 hours.

  • TS5458 Continuity: Transfer a call from Mac back to iPhone?

    Hardware/Software:
    iPhone 6 running iOS8.1.2.
    2013 MBP Retina running OS X 10.10.1
    Scenario:
Continuity works and correctly forwards an incoming call on the iPhone to the Mac.
Call is answered on the Mac and conversation starts.
Discussion requires me to withdraw with the iPhone to somewhere private.
How do I transfer the call back to the iPhone?
I've tried taking my headphones out of the Mac and plugging into the iPhone and pressing the green bar at the top of the iPhone screen that says "Touch to return to call".  This hasn't worked.  Nothing else comes to mind.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Having looked at your spreadsheet I see you're failing H323 transfers back to your ISDN system, but only under certain circumstances. Quite why, I'm not sure, possibly because you haven't codec defined on your H323 dial peers. or it could be something else
I think you may be able to work around the problem by adding
" supplementary-service h450.12 " under voice service voip on your CME router as a quick fix.

  • Ever since my wife and I upgraded to iOS 8 all of our devices now ring on incoming calls.   She also gets all of me texts. How do I stop these actions?

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 all of my apple phones and IPad now ring when there's an incoming call.  My wiife now gets all my texts on her phone. How do we fix these issues?

The phone ringing issue has to do with all of the devices being logged into iCloud with the same Apple ID and being on the same Wi-Fi network. While in proximity like that, go into Settings>FaceTime and turn off iPhone cellular calls. It is part of the continuity feature.
The fact that you are receiving messages is some of the same doing. You need to go into Settings>Messages on both devices, go to Send & Receive and make sure that just your phone number is selected on each of the devices. The phone number for that particular device.  Do the same for Start conversation from, and make sure that it is the phone number only.

You can't. Either tap the Sleep/Wake button or just let the call to continue to ring.

    Hi there,
I've just installed ios 7.0.6 on my iphone 4 and now lost voice on outgoing and incoming calls. It rings on incoming and I'm told rings on the recipient's 'phone, but then no vocal communication...its just dead. My simm is ok, i've checked it, I've done a full clean and restore of the 'phone. Still no calls.
I've not caused any physical or water damage to the 'phone. I would welcome any help/suggestions to get my calls back asap.
    Please help.
    Miss liberty

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
Also consider deleting and reinstalling the Mail Account in question.

  • There is no option to reject an incoming call in locked screen, there must be an icon on the screen for one who don't want to use lock button several times, i did'nt face this problem in last ios 6.1.3.

A good read. Have you done anything at all to resolve your problem. Reset? Restore?
By the way - "your products"... nobody here produced the iPhone, we are all just users. Apple is not here.

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
    try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
    #74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty
    let me know if succeeded!

  • TS2634 My iPhone 4s does not ring for incoming calls. Ring tone is set/settings/sound. It used to ring. I think it has to do with updating to IOS 7.0.4? After updating IOS 7.0.3 my microphone stopped working. Had to clear/reload.

My iPhone 4s does not ring for incoming calls. Ring tone set and used to ring. I think it has something to do with updating the IOS 7.0.4. When I updated to 7.0.3 the microphone stopped working. Had to call Apple Support and cleared phone and reloaded. ($57 charge). Any suggestions?

Start with your finger at the bottom of the screen (about even with the home button) and swipe in an upward motion.  There should be a row of icons at the top of a grey field.  if the quarter-moon icon is bright white, tap it.  If it was (and still is) dark, take the iPhone in to be evaluated by a qualified technician.

  • Since updating to ios 7.0.4 my iphone 4s hads been intermitently failing to ring or sending incoming calls.directly to voicemail.

since updating to ios 7.0.4 my iphone 4s hads been intermitently failing to ring or it is sending incoming calls directly to voicemail.  The ringer is on and the mute switch is not in the mute position.

Mine too... I'm missing calls like crazy.

  • Dear Apple, unfortunately, I think I have found a bug in ios 7. During an incoming call is no call rejection or selection of the ability to send a text message. I hope it is a bug and there is a solution. Thank you very much.
