No ink Level Photosmart d5300

Before I have preform a reinstalled my computer the computer shows me the level of the cartridges. Now I have reinstalled my computer and now I can't see the level of the cartridges. Is it a good idea to give the printer a soft reset
Thank & regards
mightymike

When you say you reinstalled your computer, did you have to recover/reinstall your operating system?  If so, then you probably reinstalled your printer, too?
If that is the case, then I believe a reset may help you. Try this procedure:

  • Excessive INK LEVEL LOW warnings; Excessive PRINTER OFF LINE warnings on HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m

HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m Excessive INK LEVEL LOW Warnings: False PRINTER OFFLINE Warnings
I have the HP Photosmart Plus B209a-m, Lenovo T43 running XP SP3.
I love the print quality and the way it looks. But...it's very noisy and the big problem is:
When any one of the 4 ink cartridges gets to around 25%, the ink low warning , comes on, sometimes more than once per minute! And then it opens the LARGE dialogue box right in the middle of the screen showing me ink levels (none below 25% by the way), and  * soliciting me to buy ink from them on line or from a dealer or whatever.  I close it and the three warning boxes (Ink level low-two boxes simultaneously and Printer Offline)....Then a couple minutes later all them are back. This makes the computer basically unusable.
*These frequent (every few minutes)  PRINTER OFFLINE warnings occur even though it is on line. this is a wireless enabled printer. Despite the warning that it is offline, as soon as I issue a print command the printer responds (with the ink level warnings of course, while it's printing).
How can I disable (forever) the  OFFLINE and INK LEVEL warnings?

On the touchscreen of the printer
    touch setup
    touch preferences
    touch cartridge chip info
    then touch OK
    no more annoying pop-ups
    Note
To re-enable the usage information function, restore the factory defaults.
    Note
You can continue to use the cartridge in the HP product if you turn off the memory chip's ability to collect the product's usage information.

  • Does HP photosmart C4680 printer have a way to give ink levels??

Does the HP C4680 have a apt to check ink levels?

Hi, From manual: Check the estimated ink levels
You can easily check the ink supply level to determine how soon you might need to replace a cartridge. The ink supply level shows an estimate of the amount of ink remaining in the cartridges.
To check the ink levels from the HP Photosmart Software
    1. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click Printer Toolbox.NOTE: You can also open the Printer Toolbox from the Print Properties dialog box. In the Print Properties dialog box, click the Features tab, and then click the Printer Services button. The Printer Toolbox appears.
    2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab.
The estimated ink levels for the ink cartridges appear Regards.

    Hi @Gibezzi,
I'd like to help as best I can with your Photosmart D5460
Where is it you're checking the ink levels?
What operating system is on your computer?
Are you still able to print or is it giving an error related to the ink?
Once I have this information I can look further into things for you!

  • Photosmart Prem-Web C309n-s. No warning for low ink levels.

Printer runs out of ink with no warning, and there is no way to verify the ink levels to monitor remaining level.  :-(

The ink levels can be checked from the printer front panel or computer as described here.
If the cartridges appear to run out of ink prematurely check the vents as descried in step 3, solution 6 here.

  • How can I turn off the ink level monitor on a HP Photosmart 7520?

I have put new cartredges in my printer and it shows the ink levels are low. Can i go into settings and turn that off? If so how?

    Hey @NEVER-SATISFIED ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
No you are not able to turn of the ink levels notifications, however; if you have just purchased new ink and it shows that the ink levels are low you can call HP Technical Support.
If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
HP printers generally have a 1 year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link if you would like; warranty check.
I hope this helps. Let me know.

  • Unable to check HP printer ink levels via Supply Levels

I've got an HP Photosmart 8450 printer, and so far no printing problems with 10.5.1. However, I can't check ink levels in the printer via the "Supply Levels" window, and I can't find another way to see this information. I'm using the printer driver supplied with 10.5.1.
This information was available under 10.4.11 - is there a way to obtain printer ink levels in 10.5.1?

I loaded mine from the 10.5.1 disk, but it's a separate operation from the main install. There's an optional install folder on the 10.5.1 disk with the info.
Load the system disk for your iMac and look at it in the Finder to see if there's a similar optional install folder. Then, there's always the HP website if you can find the driver there . . .
Regarding how you've got the 8450 printer set up, why not put the printer directly on the (ethernet?) hub rather than hanging it off the Vista laptop? There's an Ethernet port on that printer, and that's one of the reasons I picked that model. Your iMac probably can't see the printer the way you've configured things. Bonjour will be able to find the printer and get you hooked up with the printer directly on the hub.

  • Low Ink level warning on new inks.

I own a Photosmart c309a and I am about ready to throw the thing out of the window.
I purchased all 5 inks required today, printed 1 test photo (6x4), 2 personal photos (6x4) and about 7 test pages as I have not used the printer for a couple of months and had to clean the printer head 7 times.
The problem I am now faced with is low ink levels. The Cyan, Magenta and Yellow inks are nearly empty, the Black is just over half full and the photo black is about a quarter full.
Remember, these official HP cartridges are brand new and purchased TODAY!
As my warranty expired with Comet about 2 months ago and HP is of no help at all as the automatic HP warranty check is a dead end, I am at a loss as to what t o do next, other than dumping the whole lot in the bin and buying a new (non HP) printer. Can anyone help?

    Hi @Mondo1, I'd be happy to help1
You can try changing the settings in the Printer Server Properties.
Click to highlight your printer, click Printer Server Properties, then click Advanced tab and check both "Show informational notifications..." boxes.  Click Apply and then click OK.
As you can see, this screenshot is not specific to your printer. you will need to look for your 6600.

  • Ink Level Check GONE!

Photosmart 7150 --  FINALLY got it to work in Windows 7 Home Premium (64Bit)  And THAT was way more of a struggle than it should have been!
I realize the HP "toolbox" is too ancient to even open in Win7 (it was from Windows 98, no?) but there has to be a way to:
    Check ink levels
Print a color nozzle check page
    clean the print head
    SO...I give up...how do I do it?

Hi, I found this doc which may help with cleaning....

  • Empty Ink Level Displayed After Installing New HP Cartridge on HP D7260

    Hi there,
I have an HP Photosmart D7260 printer.  I have alway used genuine HP ink cartridges.  I recently replaced the Cyan cartridge after it ran out of ink however the printer is still showing the cartridge as empty.  I printed the Self test Diagnostic Page and the ink level is shown at 0%.  The ink expiry date is shown as "04/01/2016" indicating that the cartridge is new.
I've tried reseting the printer and reinstalling the cartridge several times.  How can I get the printer to show the correct level for the new full cartridge?  I don't want to buy a new cartridge since this a brand new genuine HP cartridge.  I'm quite sure there is a way to reset the incorrect ink level so please advise.

I have the exact same problem with a Photosmart 3210 printer.  My brand new light magenta cartridge is not showing up as full and I can't print even black & white!  This is ridiculous.  I hope someone at HP replies to your posting with a solution soon!

  • How to check ink level in printer cartridge

i just finished installing my C4180 all-in-one printer on my new HP dv6 notebook running windows 7
i cleaned and aligned the ink cartridges, but my black is still printing poorly
i want to check the ink level in the cartridge before i buy a new cartridge, but the windows 7 solution center is somewhat different from xp
the solution center tells me that the ink levels are not currently available and when i click on the printer toolbox, i get nothing
the icon at the bottom of the solution center gives me a big green checkmark, but does not give me any useful information
how can i get better info about my ink levels?
    thanks
    frank hershenson

    Hello frankjh,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Checking the ink levels on the HP Photosmart C4180 can be done a couple ways, from the front panel of the printer or the software installed on the computer.
It is usually not the easiest to see but the ink levels should be displayed in the lower left corner of the C4180 display screen. A small icon looking like a yield sign may be present, if so this is stating it is low.
Since you have tried to use the HP solution Center on the computer in attempt to gather the information and where not able due to an error, you may need to uninstall and install the C4180 on the computer.
Here is the guide to uninstall: Uninstalling the Printer Software. When ready to install download the software from here: HP Photosmart C3100/C4100 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver.
I hope this helps, please reply if you need anymore help
