No internet connection but full wifi help!

Hi I had the same macbook and internet connection for about 5 years with no problems but suddenly a couple of days ago I can't connect to the internet. I have full wifi and am using my phone with it but something seems to have changed on my mac. I've read the responses to similar queries as I see that this happens quite frequently but I don't really understand them. Could someone please explain to me how to fix this in simple layman's terms? Thank you!

    I have a MacBook from around 2007. I am currently running on Snow Leopard.  I have no problem getting a wifi signal. The connection strength remains at full bars always. However, even when I have full bars, the connection will inexplicably stop. Typically if i wait for about 1 or 2 min the connection will come back and the webpage will continue loading.
    I have a PC laptop as well and never experience anything similar on the same network.
    Some forums I have read for similar issues suggest a new airport card. But before I make the $100 purchase, does anyone out there have other tips for me?

    Who is your carrier?
    The iPhone is designed to always have an internet connection as long as there is an available wi-fi network you have access to, or cellular reception. If the iPhone's visual voicemail feature is supported by your carrier, visual voicemail messages are downloaded to the iPhone via the carriers's data or internet network only. No internet access via the cellular network, and no visual voicemail access.
    You can have this disabled at the source by contacting your carrier and requesting that internet access be disabled for your line/number/account via the carrier's network.

    Open Sysem Preferences from your Apple () menu top left in your screen then select the Firewall tab.
    Make sure the Firewall is turned off.

    The iPhone requires wi-fi to update if you try to update over the air, since the phone needs to reboot, thus disconnecting itself. You can update via iTunes and the computer, but you would not be able to tether to the phone for the internet connection, since the phone would disconnect. So, you can either update via wi-fi and the phone, or you can update with a computer that has an internet connection other than the phone.

    Please download iTunes from Apple.com and then sync your ipad.After which your ipad will appear on the right hand side upper corner of iTunes.Select your ipad and click check for update,once update has been found click update and follow the steps after that.

    when you say there is an Internet connection have you used safari?  Or does the phone just display a data connection (i.e. 3g/4g)?  You could try a couple of things if it is the latter 1. turn off cellular data than turn it back on.  2. turn on airplane mode and turn it back off.  I type these assuming you've tried resetting network connections.

    Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
    Restart your IPad. Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

    Okay now this description was pretty vague but it could be a few things. First thing to try. Turn wifi off and then one again and try to connect. If this fails read on.
    The second step is to select that network in the wifi settings so you get an expanded menu of it. Follow these steps from the home menu on your ipad... SETTINGS>Wi-FI>NETWORK NAME (you have to click the little blue arrow)> FORGET THIS NETWORK. Then turn wifi off and then on. Then try to connect again. If this fails... well read on,

    If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
    For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
    Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
    You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds

    As I mentioned above, I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea why a wireless protocol would be showing up there, I'm just listing everything I see in hopes that someone might know something I can try. This is why I am asking for help here - I'm not sure what has happened that has made me unable to connect, especially since it seemingly occured while nobody was using the computer.
    I guess I should clarify that I'm not a total hillbilly- normally my firewall is set to 'on', but I set it to 'off' to try and troubleshoot the issues here as I was told that sometimes it can interfere with the computer's ability to connect to the internet. If this is not the case and firewall does not affect anything, I will turn it back on while I try to fix this.
    I have tried the method you mentioned above a few times - I actually contacted my ISP earlier this week and they recommended resetting the router like that. They didn't mention any known network issues.

    Have you recently changed your SIM card to that of another provider? If so, you may need to set your APN settings - Settings/Mobile/Mobile Data Network (on UK phones).  If not, then seek advice from your service provider because it's very likely to be connected with your APN settings.
    The other option is to search the Internet for the APN settings for your service provider. The information should be readily available.

    I have no firewall and my date/time is correct -for germany, that is! Could this be the reason why? But should I switch to US western or eastern time?
    But anyhow: I succeeded ordering an iPhoto book a year ago with no problem whatsoever. So I don't really think thats the key to my problem. But I give it a try by switching to Cupertino time

    Go to following location:
    for Win
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe
    for MAC
    Finder> Go > Go to Folder
    \Library\Applicaiton Support\Adobe
    ~\Library\Applicaiton Support\Adobe
    Locate folder OOBE and rename it OOBE.old
    Download and install�
    Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager
    Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager
    After the installation
    Try to Open Adobe Application Manager / Creative Cloud App.
    Log in that with Adobe ID and Password.
    If it does not work first try couple of times more.
    Let me know if this resolves the issue.
