No internet connection every 2 minuttes on my N9

The internet connection on my N9 keeps shutting down, the problem is with both wifi and mobile. I can turn it on, and log in to my facebook and google account, and then 2 minuttes later the internet connection is off again and i have to log in again to all the different accounts.
It is very annoying that i have to log in everytime i want to see if i have any new mails, and everytime i log on im asked to log in to all my different accounts too. If i dont manually update my facebook feed, i never get any updates, and when i manually update im asked 3 times in a row to enter my facebook password.
I have set the phone to all the correct settings, since this problem has been with me for some time now. I dont mind living with some minor bugs in my phone, but this is to much for me.
I have seen the other thread /t5/Maemo-and-MeeGo-Devices/Nokia-N9-keeps-asking-me-for-my-passwords/td-p/1213677
But i dont think it looks like the same problem, since its the internet connection thats the problem on my phone.
Has anybody experienced a problem like this, and maybe have a solution ?
have a nice day
Ole

Strange that you should point this out as was driving me crazy trying to "Update" N9 to latest 0.2.45.110 maps yesterday as it is rather like watching paint dry and each time I came back to device to find regional map download "Paused" as Internet connection had shut down; have not investigated further since not primary device.

  • Loosing internet connection every 15 minutes

I am "loosing" my internet connection every 15 minutes. The cable box was replaced. Internet sharing is off. The firewall is on and no ports are checked. But, every 15 minutes, I get a message (using Safari) that there is no connection. I select network diagnostics and after I go through a few steps, all the buttons are green and then the connection works. This is very problematic, though, since I am loosing work while working online. Any suggestions?

    Hi otobinchicago,
The fact is you can delete the .plist (com.apple.networkConfig.plist) and re-enter your setting and you will find out if this is the problem, but as I can assure you I have been through the same process. Reconfiguring the computer, the modem, etc, and it was the hardware.
You could try taking your computer to a friends house linking it to their modem and testing it that way. As long as the post-computer to ISP link is nothing to do with your hardware, you will see that it could be hardware or software.
My bet is that it is hardware. It sounds too similar to what I had.

  • My ipad mini loses Internet connection every time it automatically locks.

My ipad mini loses Internet connection every time it automatically locks. I have to re-establish the connection but sometimes it would take too long for the Internet to be connected. I'm using a wireless connection

just browsing around I found this question. Also on my mini retina I fight with this problem. After a lot of searching I found that the only solution is to switch to
Airplane Mode, wait few seconds and switch again.
Or, if you are lucky, to find a Genius who replaces your unit. Cheers

  • EA3500 dropping internet connection every 2 minutes

Hello!  I've recently purchased the EA3500 dual band wireless-N router to replace my old and somewhat tired WRT54GS.  The old router worked, I just decided to upgrade to wireless-N since all of my devices are now capable.
My ISP is Comcast and I use a Motorola SB 6120 cable modem.
After an extremely easy setup of the new router last week, I experienced one full day of glorious speedier network and internet traffic.  However, roughly 24 hours after installation I started experiencing intermittetent internet connectivity issues.  As in - the cable modem is accessible for 2 minutes and then can't be found for 2 minutes, repeat forever.
After multiple different troubleshooting steps, including rebooting both the modem and the router together, separately, and releasing and renewing the router's IP Address through the router's admin page, I finally ended up resetting the router back to factory defaults and letting Windows 7 guide me through the re-installation rather than using the provided "easy setup" CD from Cisco.
This seemed to have helped, but 2 days later, my "every 2 minutes" issue returned.
Something important to note here is that all of my devices - both wired and wireless - are able to communicate with each other without issue.  For example - while I have no access to the cable modem, I am able to stream music from a wired desktop through a wireless laptop to a wireless receiver connected to my TV.  I am also able to access the router's admin tools during my connectivity issues.
Has anyone here got some ideas for additional troubleshooting steps I can take?

There are many reasons why you experience poor signal or connection. Your slow throughput wireless connection has a relation to the kind of setup that you have in your home or office. Is the connection dropping on all wireless-N computers or just one?
Try to do the following steps:
A] With the help of Cisco Connect Software (if at all you have installed the router with the help of this software)
1] Open the software and go to the option which says "Router Settings"
2] Then click on the option which says "Advanced Settings" which will take you to the router's configuration page.
3] Lower the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) from 1500 to 1492 or less (usually found on your routers main/ basic setup page)
B] If you haven't installed Cisco Connect then you can log on to the router's user interface using it's default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and type in 'admin' as the password leaving the username field blank. This will take you to the router's web interface and then follow steps as mentioned above to make the changes.

  • Wrt610n losing internet connection every 2 days

I've just received a wr610n v1 as a warranty replacement for an older linksys router.  It works fine normally, but every day or 2 I lose the internet connection on it.  My cable modem (20Mb/s) shows a few blinks on the 'ethernet' & 'send' lights, but nothing on the receive light.  Renewing the ip in the linksys config pages kicks it into life again, and it's fine for another day or 2.  Anyone else seen similar behaviour?

Again, fidding around with the wireless settings is not going to make a blind bit of difference - the wireless remains working fine throughout.  The problem is with the connection from the router to the modem.  When that goes down, internet is obviously lost on wired & wireless, while connections behind the router (wired-to-wired, wired-to-wireless, wireless-to-wireless) all remain working fine.

  • Macbook loses internet connection every time it is put to sleep

every time i open my macbook pro from sleep mode there is no internet connection, even though my wifi bars are full and black and my home router is found and ticked. after a 1-2 minute delay my mac then connects to the internet. this happens every time i open my laptop from sleep mode.  i have to wait 1-2 mins. this has only started to happen in the last few days and is driving me mad as it shows it is connected to the internet. any ideas ?
    thanks

Delete the network from your macbook, system preferences, network, select advance tab and delete it
Then Re join the Wi-Fi network you want.

  • Losing ATT internet connection every hour. Help?

Just upgraded from old Airport to Time Capsule. Old network worked flawlessly for years.
My problem is now with Time Capsule I get disconnected from the internet every hour or so. After about 5 minutes the internet connection is automatically restored. (Or I can do a reboot of the modem to restore it quicker.)
I'm using ATT DLS service. Have a Speedstream 5100 modem.
Apple has replaced my Time Capsule, but the problem persists.
I reverted back to my old Airport network and the problem disappears.
Seems to be some type of incompatibility between Time Capsule and ATT.
I've been on the phone for hours with both ATT and Apple. Anybody out there have any thoughts???

I have a similar problem with a new TC 2TB unit. I have ATT ADSL service using a Speedstream modem. PPPoE is setup on the TC and it works and connects. All features of the TC are working (wi-fi, Back to My Mac, Time Machine, etc...) and the light is solid green on the TC.
Periodically, the LED blinks amber and I've lost Internet access. The Speedstream modem shows all green lights. I have found that power cycling the Speedstream modem brings the TC back to solid green after about 2 minutes.
I am seeing this happen about once a day and it can happen overnight when there is no network activity. I am thinking that the lease on the IP address given by ATT expires and the TC does not know enough to reinitiate a connection. I have set the PPPoE Connection to Always On and experienced the problem. I have also tried setting the Connection to Automatic and set the Disconnect if Idle setting to Never.

  • I lose internet connection every time my computer sleeps

HI, I lose internet connectivity everytime my laptop sleeps or shuts down. why? and how do I maintain connectivity with wireless router?

If you had mountain lion, you could've used a feature called power nap. It keeps networking on even when the mac is asleep.
On other OS, I guess its bound to disconnect all networks when it goes to sleep You can try an app called Caffeine that doesn't let it go to sleep.

  • Losing internet connection every hour

    Hi Guys
I replaced my Linksys router with an Airport Extreme 4th Gen about 2 weeks ago
I keep on losing Internet Connection when connected through a Wireless connection. This happens with my Windows 7 PC's, with my iPhone4 and with my iPad2. The connection with the AE is kept alive but the passthrough to the Internet does not work anymore. I have to reset my wireless adapter to reconnect and rebuild my internet connection.

  • I lose my internet connection every 5 mins

Why do i lose my conection every 5 mins? ive tried everything, turning off and on the air port, creating a new Wi Fi interface, i went to my school and tried Wi Fi there and was the same, so its not my home router fault, i have a MacBook Pro 13 in, Mountain Lion 10.8.3, i dont whats going on and im getting frustrated please anyone who had the same problems help me!!!

Thanks and I shall be trying these things - plus perhaps a new router (I have 2 now, and will try to just use the newest one - eventually might get an 8 port out as I have 2-3 computers plus 2 printers...)
Since I have 2 different ISP's (VOO and BELGACOM) I make sure to turn-off the one (unplug or if WiFi just turn-off WiFi). The eMac does NOT have WiFi.
The Belgacom modem has its own built-in WiFi - again the eMac cannot access that - other than via the PBG4 accessing that WiFi and the eMac connected to the PBG4 via FireWire 400 cable for internet access. That works and doesn't seem to cut-out.
I'll follow your other hints-- no "MINI" involved - just an eMac 2005 without WiFi and a PBG4 and my MacBook Pro-13" mid 2010 (and that seems to have a HD problem...)
I'm not sure how to "RELEASE AND RENEW" my IP address. Also not sure how to access the router LOGs.
DI-604 router is at least 6 years old---
Thanks for any reply - hope to get back to this later today -
    regards,
    Steve

  • HT1595 Apple TV loses complete internet connection every 5 minutes.  Tried restarting.  Tried unplugging the router, unplugging the modem, and unplugging Apple TV and it still does't work.  Get error message 22 saying it can't connect when I put in my pas

It only connects for minutes at a time.  I have not changed my router, modem, or placement of my apple tv, modem, or router.  It just suddenly stopped working.  Any suggestions?

Mine is doing the exact same problem!
Ever since I rented a movie from itunes with the ATV connected to the internet via wireless (strong signal) from an airport extreme connected to my modem from charter communications (with about 30Mbps speed) it will suddenly stop and by stop I mean it leaves the movie completely and says YOUR APPLE TV IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.
So if I go to my network in the apple tv menu, sure enough my wireless network is missing. But the ipad is finding it, and the imac on wireless is finding it, and it is working. So we hit restart on the apple tv. When it comes back all is good. Then maybe the movie runs ten minutes and it does it again.
In some cases the wireless network reappears but if I select it it still says I'm not connected to the internet.
I have to restart everytime or it will not properly reconnect to the internet or find my wireless net work and actually work and connect.
It has been connected in the same place for a year and never had an issue.
Nothing has changed..... I have not added a wall to cause interference....
My iPad and iPhone show FULL strength.
    Please help!

  • Resetting of Internet Connection Every Time I Reconnect. PLEASE HELP !!!

    Hi!
I have a MacBook running Mac OS 10.4.11 with the latest updates.
    Intel Core2 Duo @ 2.16 Ghz
    1 GB RAM
I am connected to the net via a wireless router (thru Airport) and PPPoE.
Recently, I have been having a problem. Each time I try to connect, the first time was OK but when I tried to reconnect a second time, the password authentication failed.
I used to go to Network Preferences and retype the password. This would work but then again now this too doesn't work.
I have to delete my location settings each time and make a fresh new location. I also used to get the message :
'NetCfgTool wants permission to change access permissions of item "PPP Password" in your keychain. Do you want to allow this?',
with the options "deny", "allow once", and "always allow" (last one is greyed out and I cannot click here)
After clicking on "allow once" I get the message 'PPPD wants permission to use the "PPP Password" item from your keychain. Do you want to allow this?'
The 'always allow' option connects it and upon any disconnection, I have to go through the same torture all over again.
This is really a pain in a place like India where net connectivity sometimes is very irregular.
If somebody has a solution, please HELP !

Hi apollorajkumar, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I think it was one of the last two Security Updates.
Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.
Try this cure for Security update...

  • IOS 6.1.2 music app making an Internet connection every time launched.

I noticed that each time I open the Music app it makes a connection. I used system status to track down who owned the IP used and it's Apple. I assume it is checking for iTunes Match, but I don't have iTunes Match and it is disabled. So I logged out of iTunes & App Store single sign-on in Settings and the connection attempts stopped. But this stinks because I don't want to have to sign in and out each time so my battery isn't used by random connection. Apple's built in apps all immediately sync each time I open them, which is why I have switched to other apps that don't to save battery.
Is anyone else having this happen? Any possible solutions?

    Why is this a problem?

  • Since I have done the iOS 4.3.5 update the Personal Hotspot drops the Internet Connection every approx. 10 minutes

    Hi,
I'm having the following issue: sincer i've done the iOS 4.3.5 update the Personal Hotspot doesn't work fine anymore on my iPhone 4. My Windows 7 Laptop or the ipad are loosing connection each more or less 10 minutes. I have tried to connect the phone to the Laptop via Cable (not only WiFi) and I have the same issue.
    The phone is neverlocked.
I've already tried to reset the network settings but the issue is still there.
    Does anyone have an ideea?

We are having the same issues on our two iPad 1's.  The only thing we have not done yet, in addition to your list above, is turn off the router.
From seasoned iPad users (we've only had our a few months):   how long doe it take Apple to fix this type of blunder?
This is so frustrating.  I used to rave about my iPad, but if this is my new life with it:  dropped connections, half loaded pages, stalled out pages, a multitude of strange error messages, this is not a product I can rave about.  I miss my "old" iPad!

  • Closing MacBook Cuts Wireless Internet Connection For Good THXS 10.5.4!

Every time I close my back book (lid?) I lose my internet connection. When I reopen it the Airport Status Icon shows full bars and that I'm connected except that Mail.app says there is no connection and I can't browse the interwebs.
I use a Time Capsule as my Router and it works fine for my PC and iPhone. There are 2 Macbooks in my house and both, after installing 10.5.4 cannot connect to the internet. I use iStumbler which shows me having a strongly signal except no data is going out or coming in
To remedy this I open Network Preferences and go through the diagnostics three time. This sometimes solves it. If it does not I open Airport Utility and fiddle with my setting and hit the button, "Renew DHCP License."
I use a Scientific Atlantic Cable modem and like I said the PC/iPhone all work great. I can't keep spending 20+ Minutes configuring my internet connection EVERY SINGLE TIME I close and reopen my macbook.
Any Ideas? Suggestions or Help? I'll take anything. This voodoo that I'm doing now is not going to cut it.
How am I supposed to lol at my lolcats if I can't get to them! HOW I ASK YOU? HOW?!?!
    kkthxbai!

Thank you for replying, Kappy. I did what you suggested and I'm afraid I still have to diddle with the Network Diagnostic to get a network connection. I guess I'll call apple on Monday /sigh.
And yes, I was aware that Airport powers down. I want to be quite clear that when I open the lid I always am able to connect w/in seconds and now I have to constantly try and "refresh" the settings to get back on the net.
Is their a PList File I can delete that may be corrupted?
