No internet except in guest mode

My imac will not connect to internet but will if I use guest log in? This imac has never had this problem before. I have turned everything off and on. I am using the imac in guest mode right now and it is working perfect, I have tried going back with time machine also. All other devices in my house work fine.

What exactly happens when you try to connect to the Internet in your own account?

    I was browsing the internet and downloaded video converter on app store, suddenly a message comes up and said i need to restart press the power button then turn it on again.   • Guest Mode?

    Can an 1100 AP support trunking? Here is what I want to do.
    The switchport is configured for a specific vlan so everything in the wireless cloud is on that vlan currently (LEAP/WEP). I want to setup a seperate open Guest SSID vlan and put it in the same vlan that the outside of my PIX is in. Then build an access list to only allow a few ports open. Like HTTP, VPN, and POP so they can get to the internet/corporate network without hacking into anything.
    Is there a better way of doing a guest mode? Can my idea work?

    The way we do it is we have a guest vlan. This VLAN has no route (no interface VLAN X)on the RSP/RSM, so there is no is way onto the Corporate network. We use an extra interface on the pix(connected to the guest VLAN) which in turn serves as DHCP server and only allows traffic to the web. We also added a small ip pool to the global nat to allow visiting guests to be able VPN out to their home office.

    There is no "Guest Mode" on an iPhone. Perhaps you mean Guided Access? If you don't remember the passcode, you may have to restore your phone. However, try resetting it first by pressing and holding the Home and power buttons until the apple appears.

  • Calendar Web Part not showing events except in edit mode

    We are unable to view calendar events in the calendar view except in edit mode. When you view the page normally, the calendar shows the current day, but you cannot change the month or add new events.
    If you change the view to all items you can see all the events but its not in the calendar view which is preferred.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Gary - thanks so much for your help. I'd already done that, but finally stumbled across the answer for my situation. I'm new to iMac and this is the first time I used Keynote, so maybe this info will help someone else along the way - I still haven't found this in any of the Keynote documentation or forums I've read.
    My slides were all set up with at least one text box in which the text was animated. The sound was the last thing I added to each slide, exactly following the info in Keynote Help re: adding audio. The audio would work when I tested it in Inspector mode, and also if I switched to soundtrack instead. But not if sound was added to each individual slide. Hmmm. After I submitted the question above, I was running through the (auto) slide show one final time to check text, animation, etc. when I noticed that on just one single slide the sound effect came through, but at the very tail end of the slide. Hmm again. Why?
    Through trial & error, the answer was in the animation section - not very intuitive re: audio. The steps to correct the issue were: 1) click on the sound icon embedded in each slide, 2) click on the animation tab in Inspector. 3) There's a drop-down menu there that allows you to reposition the audio clip to the #1 spot (if it was added after other "animation"). This allows the sound to begin before the text animation begins on each slide. Before doing this, I guess the sound was in there but the slides were transitioning before it had a chance to play.
    Since this is the first time I've used Keynote and it's the most recent version, I'm not sure if this is a new feature to allow users to choose where within a slide to play a sound effect, but I'm guessing that might be why was unable to find any info on how to solve it. Hopefully this will help others who get stumped.

    Since yesterday we test the Feature "Enterprise Mode" for "Internet Explorer 11". However, we have many problems
    with this Feature. We have configured it as described by officially instruction by MS, but it does not work
    properly. Here is what we have done exactly to test this Feature:
    In Registry Key " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Main \ Enterprise Mode " we have created the Entry " Site List " and create the string " Enable" . In the
    String "Enable" we have added no value . 
    In Case of String "Site List" , we have specified the path to the XML file , as value of this String.
    The XML file was created with the Site List Manager from Microsoft
    And now, we regocnized following Problems:
    The "Enterprise Mode" ist only "active", if the User(!) check "Enterprise Mode" under "Tools"...!
    The site list is seemingly ignored, although in the Registry "currentversion" is pulled correctly, everytime we change
    the XML File. So we think "SiteList" is configured well.
    On one of our test computer freezes Internet Explorer 11 , if you try to hook the corporate mode
    In Summary, it seems to be configured properly but it even do not work or not work correctly.
    Our goal would be:
    Enterprise Mode + access to the Site List by IE11 should be "on" by Default!
    Entrys of sitelist.XML should be filtered and shown in "Enterprise Mode" or/and the right "DocMode", as configured.
    The user should have no chance  to check on or off the"enterprise mode"
    We use "Windows 7" on all our Clients, as test Clients are also running the same operating System...

    According to your description, seems the end-users can manually turn on\off the enterprise mode, If you don''t want this, you can disable the option.
    Computer(User) Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer\Let users turn on and use Enterprise Mode from the Tools menu option
    Disable this option, user will not have "Enterprise Mode" under "Tools", after that, please run gpupdate /force to update the policy, and get "Use the Enterprise Mode IE website list" applied again in the target system.
    After that, the enterprise mode website list get applied again, and user don't have an option to disable it.

    In his infinite wisdom, my predecessor rolled out a few PCs with Windows 7 Home premium. There are a few scattered around at various sites of ours that connect back to Central office via VPN. Due to the functions they preform these PCs cant be domained and
    just use local accounts.
    We have a new web based finance system, that does not run correctly in Internet Explorer 7 Standards Mode - for the rest of the company I have turned it off via a GPO, but for these PCs (that dont even have local GP) I'm struggling to find the correct registry
    entry to disable Internet Explorer 7 Standards Mode! Help!
    The PCs are Windows & Home 32bit - I have searched and search and found nothing. Cheers guys

  • Switchport Stuck in Guest Mode

    I am using 802.1x authentication with multi-domain ports; Phone and PC connected to phone. The phones are Nortel (Avaya) and the PCs are Dell/HP Laptops. All are configured for Certificate authentication and this works well. However we sometimes get some ports stuck in Guest mode. when a non certificated laptop connects to a phone port and fails authentication, the data port is placed in the Guest VLAN. However when the laptop disconnects the port isn't reset and remains in the guest state. When a subsequent good laptop connects and attempts to authenticate the switch ignores this and leaves the data port in the Guest VLAN. Anyone any idea why this happens and how I can overcome it?
    The switch is a 2960S with Version 12.2(58)SE2 IOS.

    I would have expected the auth function to have reacted to the EAP packets sent by the good client when it connected and performed eap authentication but it didn't, all it did was say the ports in Guest mode and left the laptop in this VLAN.

    Thanks for this reply, although it does provide valuable information for the "Cisco" world it doesn't help me with the problem I have.
    The big question is as follows:
    Why doesn't the switch react to the EAP packets it gets from the good laptop connected to the port stuck in the Guest state. The port doesn't have a data MAC in its table for the port, only a Voice MAC. It recognises a device has connected as it then places the good laptops MAC in the table BUT it totally ignores the EAP packets from this device and leaves it in the Guest VLAN where the laptop gets a DHCP address once its EAP has timed out.
    Completely wrong activity!!!
    Is this a bug?

    Yes.
    I've used my 802.11b/g/n capable MacBook to share an ethernet connection with my 802.11g ONLY iPod Touch.
    Does the N810 see the network?
    Does any other WiFi capable device in your home see the Internet Sharing SSID?
    Did you give your Internet Sharing a password? Internet Sharing uses WEP for encryption, and the rules for creating the WEP Hex key from a text string password are different for Macs vs everyother WiFi device in the world. 1st try no password. If that works, then move on to using a simple 5 character password for 40/64 bit WEP, or a 13 simple password for 104/128 bit WEP.

  • Screen tearing in secure guest mode

    Just got a new rMBP, 15" (no discrete GPU), 2.3GHz. Slowly installing stuff I want on it and I enabled FileVault. Once it was done, I restarted again and to check out the guest mode.
    When Safari started up, it went into a semi seizure-inducing state. Going to the Yahoo homepage caused a LOT of screen tearing. Very noticeable on the scrollbars and anything with anything animated. Yet when I restart and log in as normal and go to the same page with Safari there were no rendering problems at all.
    I have reset the PRAM/NVRAM and all updates are installed from the App Store.
    Has anyone else experienced this? Is this likely to be a hardware problem or a software problem (gfx driver issue in safe mode)?

    Yep that "fixed" it. Very surprised that made it past QA.
    I'd rather than have Filevault on than a working guest login.

    Resets are not a solution.  Have you done any actual trouble shooting?  What is the actual symptom you are experiencing?  If you are using WiFi have you tried directly connecting it using a wired connection.

    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP G62 Notebook and Short DST failing. Here is a link to restore the BIOS.  
    You could try safe mode disk defragmenter it will scan your computer. Just click on start and type disk. Select C: and select defragmenter.
      Please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
    Here is a link to do a hardware test. It can let you know if something is failing and the code it gives you would be helpful.

    When operating in guest mode, the guest account can access to the Firefox browser and Google Mail App. Not only has the guest account access the apps, they also have access to my private data.
