No internet = Mail INSANITY!

(This is a similar post I just put up in the iCal forum... but it involves Mail, so I'm posting the short version here as well.)
My cable internet went out last night, so I decided to (gasp!) work offline until it came back on. So I booted up... and the first thing I saw was an iCal alarm, which in turn loaded up Mail.
"Hmm," I thought. "That's funny, I don't have any reminders set for today."
Well, after that I watched in horror as iCal opened up EVERY EMAIL reminder I've EVER set up in iCal. complete with a Mail program which couldn't connect to the internet (which, in turn, was freaking out as well, ala the beachball 'o death)... more importantly, after I finally used Activity Monitor to force quit the iCal helper app, I saw that Mail had 85 outgoing messages in cue! All of which were "ghost" messages it was trying to send out, random messages from years past.
Thank God I wasn't connected!
So... what the HECK was happening here? Are we THAT addicted to the internet that when there's no connection, the whole system goes kaplooey? Where did those messages come from? They were LONG deleted, and a random smattering of days and dates going back several years!
And, yes, the Date & Time was accurate, even the year.
What's going on!?!?

Hi,
According to your description, I understand that restrict a group of users outside mail access and only allow internal mail flow.
If I misunderstand your concern, please do not hesitate to let me know.
It also can be done by transport rule. Figure as below:

  • SAP Internet Mail Gateway for MS Exchange 2003 Server

    Hi,
Has anybody successfully configured the IMG to work with MS Exchange 2003?
We have our 4.6C currently configured to talk to Exchange 2000 through SXC
Note 594428 - SXC: Exchange 2003 Server is not supported
    Solution
    R/3 Basis Release 3.1I to 4.6D:
Use IMG 4.6D and sendmail instead of the SXC (see note 101573), or
Upgrade your SAP system to Web Application Server (WAS) 6.10 or later and then use the SMTP plugin.
We only use outbound mail from SAP and this is sent to intranet users only, we are not planning on upgrading for a at least a year and would like to avoid installing another mail server.
Note 363154 - Internet mail gateway: use other MTA than Sendmail
This note suggests that any MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) can be used so long as it can be called from the command line, Exchange is an MTA, anybody now how to do a command line call for Exchange?
    I have read the documentation

    hi,
we are in the process of configuring the Internet Mail Gateway on R/3 4.6c on Unix platform.
I have created the RFC Destinations in SM59 and also checked the Test Connection and its working fine. I then did the Unix configuration and went on to the check whether the configuration was successful in SO01 by sending a sample text message to my company's mail address. but i did not recieve any mails on my Microsoft Outlook, instead the count under the errors column increased by one.
on checking the status for the sent message in SO01, its saying "No Delivery to [email protected](for reason, see long text)... but there's no long text either...
Can anyone please let me know the reasons for it and it would also be really helpful if someone can let me know whether i have missed any configuration settings.
Also, can someone send the list of parameters that are to be entered for the Unix configuration under mlsomadm mailgw.ini, so that i can verify whether i have entered the parameters correctly....
Kindly revert back at the earliest...
    Thanks & Regards

  • How to confirm the alerts automatically in the internet mail?

    Hi,gurus:
I wanna know how  I confirm the alerts automatically in the internet mail. Now we have to navigate to the alert inbox to confirm the alert, but can I do it in the internet mail? I have confirued the parameter in ALRTCATDEF->CONFIGURE->SETTING->INBOUND PROCESSING,but it didn't work.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi,
I checked the library, and it says:
    Confirming Alerts by Internet Mail
When an alert is sent by Internet mail, the Internet address of the alert user entered in alert configuration is entered as the Reply To address of the mail. An alert ID is inserted into the text of the mail. When the recipient answers the mail from the alert system, the alert is confirmed automatically. Inbound processing sends a status mail to the sender stating either that the alert has been confirmed successfully, or that an error has occurred. The alert ID must be included in the body of the reply mail.
My question is: How to reply the mail?Where do I write the the alert ID?any ideas?

  • "Internet Mail - Problem during delivery processing" email received

Every email I'm receiving as of this morning is accompanied by an email from [email protected], entitled "Internet Mail - Problem during delivery processing"
Is this an issue on the Mac server side or a problem with my Mail app?
    Many thanks in advance.

My Wife and I both have an Ipad and an iPhone, I use an iMac and my wife a MacBook Pro.
I have this problem with all my devices.
My wife has NOT got this problem.
We both use a [email protected] email acount.
    Just compared the settings:
For "Incoming server" I have p03-imap.mail.me.com
My Wife has p02-imap.mail.me.com .... and has not got this problem.
I have setup a new rule for incoming mails (for the meantime):
move all incoming emails from [email protected] to trash and delete it.
Works fine for now,......until APPLE deals with the problem.

  • X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs is configured as Internal other than Anonymous from internet mails

    Hi Admin,
We want to restrict distribute group not to receive internet mails, but the internet mails are still going through even if the option"only senders inside my organize" is selected. The part of mail header is below,
    X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthSource: myexchange.com
    X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs: Internal
    X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthMechanism: 10
The value of X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs is configured as "Internal" other than "Anonymous" from internet mails. Maybe this is the root cause, but I don't know how to resolve it. Currently the internet mails are first checked by
our symantec mail gateway then transfer to our CAS server (myexchange.com) as above.
Could somebody instruct me on this?
    Many thanks in advanced.

Did you check "Externally Secured" on the anonymous receive connector or add the ip address of the Symantec Gateway to the allowed IP anti-spam list in Exchange?

  • Modifying Connectors for Receiving Internet Mail - Anonymous setting?

I have a mail reflector for my domain to deliver mail on an alternate port, other than 25 because my ISP blocks port 25. I have the following default receive connectors:
Default Client Font End Transport (FrontEnd Transport) - TLS, Basic, Integrated, Exchange users, port 587
Default Client Proxy (Hub Transport) - TLS, Basic, Offer Basic after TLS, Integrated, Exchange Server Auth, Exchange Servers, Exchange users, port 465
Default Front End Transport (FrontEnd Transport) - TLS, Basic, Offer Basic after TLS, Integrated, Exchange server auth, Exchange Servers, Legacy Exchange Servers, Anonymous Users, port 25
Default Hub Transport (Hub transport) - TLS, Basic, Offer Basic after TLS, Integrated, Exchange Server Auth, Exchange Servers, Legacy, Exchange Users, port 2525
Default Outbound Proxy Frontend Transport (Frontend transport) TLS, Enable domain security, Basic, Offer basic after TLS, integrated, Exchange server auth, exchange servers, anonymous, port 717
Issue: When I initially had mail forwarded to port 2525, I received a mail delivery system message: host mail.skincdc.com[69.250.204.88] said: 530 5.7.1 .Client was not authenticated (in reply to MAIL FROM command).
I modified the “Default Hub Transport” connector to allow Anonymous Users in addition to what I already had selected in the security settings. Voila, email is delivered to my exchange server from external domains.
I wasn’t sure if adding Anonymous Users to this connector would pose any issues. In order to try an alternate port, I changed my registrar to port 2626 and created a new receive connector Hub Transport, with only Anonymous
Users and port 2626. I saw the initial connection in my TMG firewall logs, but mail never made it to my exchange server, and I wasn’t receiving the above error message right away as before. Disabling this new rule and modifying the firewall back to port 2525,
email immediately was delivered. So can I just leave my Default Hub Transport receive connector as is with the security settings and Anonymous set? Thanks.
Next….getting email to send out on a different port than 25 to external domains. Still having issues with this one.
    -SK

    Hi Slevin
According to your setup you would need to receive emails on different port apart from 25
You can do the following thing
    1) Create a dedicated receive connector for your ISP domain
    2) Grant relay permission only to your ISP subnet and IP ranges
    3) Change the port to your desired number on which you need to receive emails from them
    4) Disable the default receive connector since its not required anymore
So the mail-flow for inbound will be in the following type
    Inbound
From Internet - Mails comes to your ISP - ISP delivers to your firewall on different port - then it comes to exchange server
Let me know if you have any confusions on this and i will be able to help you further

  • My internet mail accounts won't work on Mail

I have a number of internet mail accounts, none of which I can get to work on 8.1.  I haven't used OS X Mail in quite awhile, but wanted to try to get back to it with the Yosemite upgrade.  I've input my incoming server and outgoing server and made sure the ports matched my site's mail.
I can't find any known issues with it.  My Gmail works fine, and my internet accounts work just fine on Postbox.

Are you using SSL or not? Note that Yosemite will try and auto-set the settings, so it may be best to not set the ports manually and let Mail try and do it, if you just use your email address to set up the account.
