No internet on Windows 7

Hi,
I just downloaded Windows 7 onto my 17'' Macbook pro via boot camp, however when in Windows it doesn't pick up any wireless networks to even attempt to connect too. However, when in Mac it automatically connects to the wireless connection in my hotel, which I do not have a password for.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

i've had this problem for days trying to instal windows x64 on a friends late 2009 white macbook, and nobody seems to have an answer...
the first thing you need to do is make sure you have bootcamp 3.0 installed on windows, that's done by inserting the mac os x install disc and install bootcamp (i read some people suggesting copying the files to the local drive first).
after you have bootcamp 3.0 installed, you should have the correct drivers for trackpad, sound, network adaptor (airport card).
there is also a bootcamp 3.1 update (make sure you install the right one, there is a 32 bit one and a 64 bit one).
after all this, you're supposed to have functioning drivers.
HOWEVER, i'm still having problems. i've gone in and "troubleshoot compatibility" under device manager to try and over ride whatever it is and force the installation of the broadcom 802.11n drive, but i still get a code 10 and NO sound, and the trackpad isn't 100% functioning perfectly....
so if you've done all this and still can't get the wireless driver to work, then you are at the same place i am.
i keep reposting this bc i can't find a solution either.

  • MacBook Pro (Wireless Internet) - ethernet - Windows XP (no wireless) ?

    Hello,
I have MacBook Pro with wireless internet that works just dandy.
I also have a cheap IBM ThinkPad running Windows XP. It's from the stone age, so it has no wireless internet card.
Ethernet cable successfully connects the two, and I can transfer files back and forth using smb://, no problem.
But I really want is to be able to get internet on Windows using connection from my MacBook Pro.
Is this possible? Can I do it in system preferences somewhere, or would I have to go buy a router or something?
EDIT: I'm a Web Developer, so I just want to be able to connect to see how HTML files look on IE. If there is a way to setup a localhost and plug IP into Windows XP, that'd be a good enough solution.
RE-EDIT: Just figured it out on my own :S
    Thanks,
    -Adam

    I figured it out

    Hi Nikolay!
Have you installed the VPC Additions after setting up Windows? I believe you can insert your VPC CD and install them on the Windows side through the D: drive.
    Hope this helps!

  • Why is Messages no longer showing up under my iCloud account in the "Internet Accounts" window?

Why is Messages no longer showing up under my iCloud account in the "Internet Accounts" window?  I recently deleted it and added it back, but then Messages went away.  On my iPhone, it shows me logged in under my iCloud account and my cell phone number is synced with that iCloud account.  Yet, on my Mac it isn't showing up.
I've already tried removing and adding the iCloud back several times.

The Messages app is supposed to grab the information from the "Internet Accounts." Messages has always included the ability to separately add Google, Yahoo, AOL, or other messages accounts; but, it has always grabbed the iCloud account information from the "Internet Accounts" section. Except for now, when the Messages option has disappeared from the iCloud account under "Internet Accounts."

Ask on a Windows forum since that's what you're having a problem with.

  • Export to Excel button only launches in Internet Explorer window

Hi Experts - A subset users that are experiencing issues with the option to Export to Excel via Web Analyzer on 7.0.  For others, including myself it works just fine.
When they click the Export to Excel option after running a query, it only opens in an Internet Explorer window (no Excel options to manipulate data) and does not give them the typical MS Excel pop-up window (like I get) to OPEN or SAVE in Excel format.
Thinking this would be an MS Excel or Internet Explorer setting somewhere, but don't know where to find it....
    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello,
I think that you're right, the problem doesn't seem to come from anything in SAP servers (otherwise no user would be able to make it work right).
If I understand well, you want to open an Excel window when selecting "export to Excel" option, not having the table opened in IE with an Excel tab. Am I right ?
If it's the case, I think that this should work :
In windows explorer, open tools -> folder options
    Tab "file type"
find xls extension, and click "advanced" button
uncheck "browse in the same window" button
I'm using windows XP, therefore I can't guarantee that you'll find the same menus with another OS. Furthermore, I'm using a french OS, so my translations might differ slightly from what you'll actually have on screen. The result is reflected in the following registry key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Excel.Sheet.8
(this could be a different key, depending on the MS Office version installed on your computer)
You should now have a DWORD value BrowserFlags = 8
If you have a helpdesk department in your company, that handles software installations, I guess that they should handle this problem (by broadcasting the change in registry ?). But if you're a small company, where everyone has the rights to change such settings, this method will be OK.

  • Adobe & Internet Explorer crashing when opening pdf within an Internet Explorer window

    Hello,
Can anyone help me with this issue or maybe point me in the right direction? Thank you!
Working with in a ASP that uses reader to display forms. The form opens as an embedded adobe form in a new Internet Explorer window. Once the form opens it pulls data from the ASP. At times when the form opens in the new window both the Internet Explorer windows close. Other times a "user request stop" error appears and once OK is pressed both windows close. The ASP does not know what causes this & can not seem to replicate the problem. ASP is on the other side of the country.
Would the acrotray.exe be causing this?

  • Flash download/close Internet Explorer Windows

Can't download Flash. Error message indicates to close all Internet Explorer windows and I have. Any suggestions?

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save target as".
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save the file to your downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, run the installer from your downloads folder.

  • As many HTTP sessions as Internet Explorer windows ?

    Hi,
My web-application is using HttpSession to identify users (with this well known getSession() applied to HttpServletRequest).
I have noticed that if I open two (or more) Internet Explorer windows and I connect to my web-application, all of them share the same HTTP session.
That is annoying because some parameters stored in the session are different between the windows.
When I'm using IE in one window and Firefox in another, there are two separate sessions.
How can I do to have as many different HTTP sessions as IE Windows ?
Is it a WLS parameter ?
              I'm using WLS 9.1.
              Thanks a lot.

This is not WLS issue. This is caused by the fact that different browser instances share a same cookie.

  • Surfing the Internet using Windows 7 on a mac mini

Has anyone been able to surf the internet using Windows 7 on their mac mini? For some reason, I am unable to do so. I can surf fine wireless using the mac OS side, but not on the windows side. Even if I am hard ethernet wired.

Have you attempted to do any troubleshooting of the IP stack on W7, such as pinging to other IP addresses?

  • SHARE TIME CAPSULE AS THROUGH INTERNET WITH WINDOWS 7 SMB

SHARE TIME CAPSULE AS THROUGH INTERNET WITH WINDOWS 7 SMB

Most ISP correctly block SMB over internet. It is too insecure .. use VPN to a different router and place the TC behind it.
Besides TC does not expose SMB to WAN.. same reason. You have to port forward SMB.
You can use SMB on some strange port.. there are instructions if you want you networked just use them.
