No Internet, Phone, or On-Demand during the day since Thursday (Oswego, IL)

On Thursday, there was a complete outage in the area (I live in Oswego). Cable came back up in the afternoon but my Internet, Phone, and On-Demand didn't come back up until around 9:30pm. On Friday, Internet, Phone, and On-Demand went out around 7am. They didn't come back up until 6:30pm.On Saturday, the same servies went out at 7:30am and didn't come back up until 6:45pm.Yesterday, the same services went out at 7:15am and didn't come back up until almost 10pm. I called right away Thursday afternoon and they told me that the first available appointment was on Monday. Since that was so far away, they would "escalate" my ticket and someone (dispatch I believe) would call me on Friday to get someone out earlier. Of course, when I left for work on Friday, all my services were working and they cancelled my appointment when I told them that. Friday, when I got home from work, all 3 services were out again and I called again. The first available appointment was now on Tuesday so they scheduled that and then "escalated" my ticket again and told me that someone would call me Friday evening or Saturday morning. By Saturday afternoon nobody had called so I called back. This time I was told that dispatch can take up to 24-48 hours to call back and that basically, I'd have to wait for their call. By Sunday afternoon, I still hadn't received a call so I called again. My ticket was now "escalated" again and I was promised a call back after 3pm. I asked the girl on the phone what I should do when nobody calls and she absolutely, positively, told me that someone would call me back on Sunday after 3pm. Of course, nobody called. What on Earth is going on in Oswego? I can't be the only person having these issues? I find it very hard to believe that my equipment (or anything in my house) may be causing this as I have seperate modems for phone and Internet and On-Demand is going out on all 3 boxes at exactly the same time (cable seems to be fine) and then everything comes back at exactly the same time. It's not even an intermittent issue. It goes out in the morning, and comes back on at night. All of this started happening after the complete outage on Thursday.

Just a quick update. All three services went out again this morning between 7am - 7:30am.

Two problems, disconnecting and extremely slow internet at a certain time of the day.

My first problem started to occur since the beginning of this year, after I've upgraded from 1MB/s to 3MB/s. EVERYDAY at 2:39 PM EST or sometime around there, my internet would disconnect (most common at 2:39). It would take some 5-20 minutes to reconnect by itself. I go to 192.168.1.1 and go to broadband connection and press disconnect, then reconnect to get myself back on asap. It would take me a few tries disconnecting and connecting to get the internet back up. I probably do disconnect during other times of the day, such as night time but I don't notice it as much because I am not using the computer at the time.
My second problem is slow download speed at night. As I said, I have a 3000/667 kb/s connection. My internet connection speed is normal during the day time .. but when I ran a speed test during night time, I get around 333 kb/s download and 600 kb/s upload. So, my download speed drops significantly at night and my upload speed is normal.
I am using a D90-327W15-06 modem and I am not using a wireless connection.

P.S Sorry if this is a lot to read, I wanted it to be as much detailed as possible.

#1 Is wireless in the router enabled?
#2 If so, to question number one above: What level of wireless security is it set to ( WEP / WPA )?
#3 Did you try connecting your modem to the NID?

Try this:
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
Make sure itunes is updated to the lates version on the computer.

I'll get 20-30 minutes of work done and then a sync or something comes on, the color wheel of death shows up, and my productivity is shot. I have to shut the computer down the hard way! when it comes back up, it is still either frozen or slow. I've checked in at the genius bar and all they say is that there have been some problems that Apple is trying to fix. It effects Mail, Contacts, Safari, Calendar....yeah, pretty much everything. My iPhone and iPad are not effected as much so I end up doing what I can with them. I've seen the blogs out there and understand that many have the same problem. I have been waiting to read about a fix but I have found nothing! Any ideas?

Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow the system down.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
For startup issues... open System Preferences > Users & Groups - Login Items. Delete any apps listed there then restart your mac.
And disable the Lion "resume" feature.
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
And Spotlight may be indexing... you can turn that off > Turning Off Spotlight | Mac Tricks And Tips

IMac turns itself on during the day

I don't know what is going on. All of a sudden my iMac turns itself on in the middle of the day. It is off when I leave for work (not asleep) and on when I come home. It only seems to happen during the weekday.
I have EyeTV on my computer which can turn it on before recording a program, but I don't record anything during the day.
Is there a log file I can look at to see if I can figure out what is causing it to turn on?

When you go there hit the "Schedule..." button and see if it selected if you havent already done that and then id see if your permissions are messed up its unlikely but if the powermanagment systems perrmisions get messed up it can cause things like that to happen

I can send and receive calls.
I get "messaging stopped" when doing a lot of texts.
Texts come up "ghosted" meaning they have the text on the bottom and a transparent one overlaid on top. they then become one. But I get the ghosting most of the time when I go into a message from a contact to send a text.
When I go to call logs or text logs, the numbers come up first, and then then the names pop up randomly, meaning not in order down the page, until they are all shown. lots of lag time.
It runs slow.
I have 5 apps on here. I should be able to have a lot of apps on here, and play music, and have files, and...and....and.
I can get online but doing a Google search, when the page with the choices comes up, it is blurred and I have to tap on the screen for it to become clear and readable.
When online and scrolling, it hitches sometimes/lags/gets stuck then unstuck
I get VZWAVS has stopped. (not sure if those are the right letters)
The status bar that is supposed to be gray with the new update, goes back and forth between green--the old os--to gray. And I have found no continuity with when I get green or when I get gray.
I get a black screen on occasion.

i am a teacher and i turn my laptop on first thing in the morning and then leave for maybe 10 hours or more. is it best for me to turn off my laptop or just let it go to sleep? it is worth noting that i turn my laptop on as soon as i get home and then before i go to bed....is all that restarting hard on it?
and, sometimes when i let my laptop sleep---for just a few hours (like 1-2 hours)--it won't wake up and i need to push the power button to turn it off and restart it. is that a weird glitch or a symptom of a problem? please let it be a glitch! lol

i don't leave it running during the day--i turn it off before i leave for work. then when i get home i turn it on and then off before i go to bed.
i 'heard' somewhere that it's better to leave your computer on than to restart it all the time. i was wondering if i should do something different.
i guess i'll have to call tech about the sleep issue. sigh.

I was having this problem while still using Mavericks -- it started after a Mavericks update last spring. During the initial Yosemite beta runs over the summer, it seemed to be fixed, but after the official launch in October, I had all sorts of problems keeping connected. Its gotten a little better, but still happens to at least one of my devices every day. Weird that we still cannot figure out why the connection keeps dropping on some devices, but not others, and then the next day, one of the devices that didn't disconnect the previous day will disconnect, but the ones that did disconnect, stay connected. It's just sloppy, poorly written software for technology that isn't working the way it should. If you turn off Continuity and Handoff on all your devices, you will probably see that everything stays connected. With those turned off on all devices, TC stayed connected to everything for over a month. The day I turned Continuity back on, all the problems started again. It had something to do with the bluetooth version being used, the wifi routine, and Apple's AirPlay technology not quite getting along with each other.

GPS works at night, not during the day.

I have an iPhone 3GS that is about a month old. While using the Google Maps App and the CoPilot Live navigation app I've noticed something very strange: the GPS has a hard time working during the day, but works like a champ at night.
During the day, Google Maps marks my location several blocks away. The navigation app can find my location, but only after long delays, and it has a hard time providing constant navigation because it's always acquiring satellites.
Night is a different story though. Last night, for example, Google Maps pinpointed my position on our street exactly in a matter of seconds, and the navigation app did the same. I noticed about two weeks ago, as well, that the navigation app worked beautifully and gave me great directions when I was driving home at about midnight.
So, obviously the GPS works in my iPhone. But why won't it work during the day, when I typically need it the most? Anyone else have this issue, or at least heard of it, and if so, is there a fix? Thanks.

I suspect there is a defect in your particular iPhone (and not in the GPS receiver). I'd take it to an Apple store and have it checked out.

What's the Oracle version?
If 10g and above, configure and start dbconsole, you can run AWR report if needed.
For earlier version, schedule taking statspack report snapshot during peak hours.
