So far, the developer said his app is working ok and can do nothing because he can do nothing. Apple won;t allow.

  • Cannot transfer videos into my ipod touch after upgrading to iOS5 and iTunes 10.5! HELP!

before i upgraded into iOS5 and iTunes 10.5 i was still able to transfer videos with mp4 format.
after i upgrade, i cant transfer anymore.
I CANT TRANSFER THE SAME VIDEOS I HAVE.
I CANT VIEW VIDEOS THAT I DOWNLOADED FROM THE APPLE TRAILERS.
    what went wrong?
    any solution?
is apple even aware of this?
i need to sync my videos
i dont like syncing them on a third party app.
    please help and advice.
    thanks!

I am encountering the same problem. And its really frustrating to see that the same videos that played earlier cant be played now. WHY?
There are some itunes forums that give the solution as :
Add the video to iTunes. Convert it into correct format using iTunes. But when i try to add, it doesn't even show the video on the list. No error message is also shown to indicate why the video is not added even to iTunes. Earlier it added but gave error when doing sync. Now i cant even Add.
Does anyone know if how to make APPLE aware of this?

  • Failure to backup while updating 3GS to iOS5 - now iTunes doesn't recognize iPhone!

Hi, I'm trying to update my 3GS to iOS5. Working on a brand-new Macbook Pro with Lion 10.7.2. Made sure I had the newest iTunes (10.5), synced my phone, transferre purchases to the computer, backed up manually for good measure. Downloaded the iOS5 update with no problem, and started the update process. Seemed to be going slowly but surely through the "backup" step of the update process. I left for five or ten minutes, and came back to a possible disaster:
    - computer had gone to sleep (guess I could have changed preferences, but I assumed that the update-in-progress would keep the computer awake)
    - iPhone screen shows the "plug USB into iTunes" graphic
    - when I woke up the computer, it showed an error message - upgrade failed. I'm pasting the text from the iPhone Updater Log below... it ends with "Restore Error 2009."
    - iPhone no longer shows up as a device in iTunes (or iPhoto). Tried closing and opening iTunes, disconnecting and reconnecting iPhone from USB port, and moving to second USB port. None of these worked. iPhone screen continues to display the "connect USB to iTunes" graphic. I found some relevant lines in the "all messages" log - pasting those below too.)
Anything I can do, short of bring both computer and phone to the Apple Store? (The phone is past warranty but I have AppleCare for the new computer)
Does the failure to back up mean that there is no previous backup I can get to? Any way to check if there's a working backup on the computer without it recognizing the iPhone?
All my apps, contacts, calendar items, music and photos are on my computer, so at least it seems that my data is not all lost. But the phone-to-computer connection doesn't seem to be coming back. Wonder if restarting computer could get it to recognize iPhone, but afraid of doing any more damage.
    Any help appreciated! Thanks,
    Adam

  • Can't upgrade my ipad2 to ios5 .. itunes says ipad update server not found

I have my main desktop I use for setting up my new iPad2.  Syncs fine, but when I tried to update to ios5, keep getting message that ipad update server is not available, check internet connection.  Itunes sees the internet, because it allows me to connect to the istore .. etc. Changed cables, I have tried it with firewall on, and firewall off .. makes no difference.  The test shows no connection, but you can see by the diagnostics that it did connect.
    PC is XP Pro,
I could connect fine from my laptop, working on same home network, however if I upgrade, it will dump all my apps .. I don't want to lose everything.
Is there a way to unsync my desktop, then sync with my laptop instead, backup, then do the update from my laptop?

  • Download error when I try to download ios5 from itunes

ios5 downloads until the file is updated and then it causes an error message, says my network connection timed out, which is inaccurate! What can I do to install ios5?

THIS WAS COPIED FROM A THREAD THAT WORKED FOR ME SO I CAN'T TAKE THE CREDIT
Open notepad as administrator, and direct yourself to:
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
    open the "Hosts" file:
note the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" portion near the bottom. your hosts may be different, and if so, then look for that part specifically. the problem for me, lied within the fact that just before the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" part, there originally was no hash(#) with the space like the rest of the hosts file. This was all I had to fix. After editing and then SAVING the hosts file in notepad I restarted iTunes and the update went through without a hitch!
so if you do not see the hash and space before the "127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com" part, all you have to do is put the #, and then press tab! I hope this works for some of you guys! So just to be clear, that particular line in the file should look like:
    # 127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
    good luck!

  • ITunes error message - iPhone contents cannot be read. IOS5 and iTunes 10.5

    Hello,
I am having problems with my phone which is an iPhone 3gs. I have recently upgraded it to the ios5 software and since then my music will not sync to my phone. I have had some problems after this with iTunes not even loading & just freezing every time I try to do anything but now I have it loading and I get an error message coming up which says...
'iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone 'Danielle's iPhone'. Go to the summary tab in iPhone preferences and click restore to restore this iPhone to the factory settings.'
I was just wondering if there is a way around it? As the last backup I did when iTunes was working properly was before I updated the software on the phone so I don't want to lose things I've done in between on it. Maybe by uninstalling iTunes perhaps? I wondered too if anyone else was having the same problem.
I hope someone can help me,
    Kind regards,
    Danielle.

    Oh also I must add...
When installing the ios5 software and the phone had then been restored from back up it kept coming up an error message that the restore hadn't been successful. I ignored this as everything was as before on my phone and each time I pressed for it to restore it again the same error message came up.
    Danielle.

  • Cannot upgrade 3gs to ios5? Itunes does not recognize the update, any suggestions?

Using Windows 7 and itunes will not recognize the ios5 update? States that the version 4.2.1 it the most current software update? Any suggestions?

Do you have the compass app on your phone? If you press and hold the home button do you get voice control? I'm betting the answer to both of these questions is no.
You have an iPhone 3G. NOT a 3Gs. You can not install iOS 5.

  • 3GS lost all music in upgrade to ios5 via iTunes.

Last week iTunes suggested I upgrade my 3GS phone to iOS5, which I happily did and followed instructions carefully, and all the iPod content is gone now. "No Content!" is what I see on the phone and there's nothing on it as seen by iTunes either.   I had done a complete backup before upgrading. Should I figure out how to restore that backup now, or what?  (And, if so, how DO you restore a backup, since it sure isn't obvious and there's no "RESTORE" button to click.)  Thanks.

iTunes does not back up your music when performing a backup before an upgrade or otherwise. It is your responsibility to make sure your music is backed up.
Unless you have a backup of your music somewhere else, it is gone. If you are in the US and a few other countries, you can get purchased music back by clicking on purchases on the right column in iTunes when at the home screen.

  • Upgrading to IOS5 via Itunes (now GM)

A few weeks ago I borrowed my friend my Iphone cause his broke down,
He installed a Golden Master of IOS5 on my phone but I would like to remove that and upgrade to the normal IOS 5 via Itunes because a lot of apps crash, I was hoping Itunes would recognize the GM and would still upgrade now IOS5 official is released, but this is not the case.
