No iphoto on my computer

When I bought a used titanium with tiger installed, I noticed that it did not have iphoto on it. Is there a reason for that and can I find a way to put it on. Without iphoto is there a way to load pictures? Thanks for any help, Jim

Hi, sailer. Yes, there's a reason for that. It could be either of the following:
• iPhoto was never installed. A few of the earliest Tibooks (400MHz and 500MHz) came without OS X preinstalled, and therefore didn't come with iPhoto either.
• iPhoto was installed, but was deleted and never reinstalled.
You can no longer download iPhoto 2, the last version that was offered free of charge. To get iPhoto, you'll need to buy iLife '04, '05, '06 or '08, whichever you prefer. Your machine can run any of those versions, though if it's a slower Tibook it will have trouble with iDVD '06 or '08 and with HD video in iMovie '06 or '08. Apple stores sell only '08; earlier versions are available new from some other vendors or used on Ebay, craigslist, etc.
iLife has been included on the discs that were originally shipped with all new Macs since the release of iLife '04. It isn't included on retail Mac OSX installer disc sets from OSX 10.3.0 on, because it isn't part of OS X: it's commercial application software.
There are any number of other photo editing and photo organizing software options available, including the ones that are shipped with every digital camera. If you have a camera, install the software that came with it and see how you like it.
Your Tibook may have been shipped with GraphicConverter preinstalled and pre-licensed; check to see whether it's still in your Applications folder. GC is one of the very best inexpensive photo editors, packing near-Photoshop power for only $30, but it doesn't have photo collection-organizing features that come close even to old versions of iPhoto.

You must use the same Apple ID used for the original iPhoto purhcase.
Open the App Store then select Purchases from the menu top of that window.
Click Download to the right of iPhoto.

  • I accidently somehow erased iphoto from my computer!! i really need help on how to get it back without having to buy it! please help me !

I somehow erased iphoto from my computer when i was clearing out all unwanted pictures fromt he all images folder , i have no idea what i did, my computer went from 83 g left to 103gs now so i'm panicking !!
please help me i have no idea on what to do!

Did you erase iPhoto (an application in your applications folder), the iPhoto library (a database file in yoru pictures folder) or images inside of the iPhoto library which will cause iPhoto to not operate correctly?
If you deleted images inside of the iPhoto library using the all images display (it is not a folder but a display of all image photos on yoru computer) and have emptied the trash then your optiopns are very simple - restore from your backup prior to deleting the images, purcshase file recovery software like file savage for one - http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id= 1 - have a file recovery company recover your files or go forward without them.

I had Iphoto on my computer when i bought it and now had to reinstall a new hard drive do i have to buy it again?

    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

I have OS X 10.6.8 and I want to buy iphoto for my computer. I tried to but it said that it was not compatible. What should I do?

The most advanced iPhoto for your 10.6.8 would be iPhoto version 11 (9.2.3).   The following thread refers.

  • Can I migrate my photos from my iphone 6 to iphoto on my computer?

I read this on the Apple website:
Your photos and metadata from iPhoto will be migrated to Photos. Books, Journals and Slideshows will be converted to albums containing only photos. iPhoto for iOS is not supported on devices running iOS 8 or later.
I am especially troubled by the underlined statement. Can I migrate my photos from my iphone 6 to iphoto on my computer?

The key part of the Apple quote is …
Your photos and metadata from iPhoto will be migrated to Photos
Photos is the app in Yosemite that replaces iPhoto.
If iPhoto fails to work with iOS 8 try opening Image Capture on your Mac, that should at least allow you to import into a folder for dragging to iPhoto.
I don't have a device with iOS8 to test, so try iPhoto if you have it available - it may still work on Mavericks. iTunes may also still take photos from iPhoto & sync them to the device.

  • Had iPhoto before getting computer fixed, now I don't have it...

I had iPhoto before I took my computer to Best Buy to get worked on. After getting worked on the Geek Squad told me that I had to use the disks that I originally used to download everything onto my computer in order to get all my programs back onto my computer. However, I didn't have access to those disks so the Geek Squad said they would take care of it. Now I don't have iPhoto on my computer and I don't know how to download it back on. Help?!?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Look at the system install disks that came with your computer. The iLife applications will be on one of them.

How do I transfer photos from iPhoto to another computer keeping the "events"

Do you want to transfer the entire library?  If so just connect the two Macs together and copy the iPhoto Library from Mac A to Mac B and put it in your Pictures folder.  Be sure to rename it if you already have a library in the destination folder so as not to overwrite.
Under no circumstances should you import a library into another library.

  • How can I disable the auto start up of iphoto on my computer when I plug in my iphone?

Whenever i plug in my iphone 4s, my computer automatically opens iphoto. How do I disable it?

yeah that's what I used to do before I updated to snow leopard. Now it does not have the same menu options which is why I am asking.
It is not in image capture either.
Read the other forums on this topic, I don't seem to have those choices anymore.( general> connecting a camera) does not appear in window.
I cannot figure out where this is.

  • Why do my photos get blurry when they are enlarged to full screen from the disc I burn, or played on the t.v.?  I set the burn on the highest quality.  The photos don't look blurry when enlarged from iphoto on the computer.

Why do my photos that are transferred from iphoto to idvd, and then burned on DVD, look blurry when the idvd is shown full screen on computer or on t.v.  They don't look blurry when I enlarge the iphoto pics on the computer.  I used the 'prof. quality" encoding setting before burning, and before putting photos on idvd.

    Hi
DVD is as standard - only interlaced SD-Video (as on old CRT-TVs) and can never be any better than this.
This is less than a quarter of Your Mac screen resolution.
That's one part of Why You can see High res. on Your Mac - and not on DVD.
Next part is what program is used to make the SlideShow.
If You use iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - to make it - it too degrades the final result as non of them can deliver interlaced SD-Video to iDVD but only half (every second line in the picture)
    I use
    • iMovie HD6 or
    • FinalCut (any version) or
    • FotoMagico™
As they all delivers 100% of what iDVD or Toast™ or DVD Studio Pro or Whatever needs.

  • HT1229 How do I transfer photos in iPhoto in one computer to another computer?

I want to move photos from iPhoto on my old computer to my new computer.  How do I do it?  I'm thinking I can do it via flikr and then download the photos.  But, that doesn't make a lot of sense.  Any help?  Thanks

That totally depends on what you are trying to do
To move some photos you could use Flickr or email or many other ways
to move your iPhoto library and keep it the same Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc)  or use an external hard drive formed Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.
What is it you want to do?

  • I can't send email containing pictures from iPhoto on my computer since using iCloud. with iCloud.  How can I send them now that iCloud doesn't work with iPhoto?

I can't email pictures on my computer from my iphoto since using icloud.

Try www.apple.com/support/ and then put /icloud /iphoto /mail and tech articles in those, and links to their respective Community Discussion.
Mail support has a wizard to test your settings too.
Not sure what error or why you can't, maybe iCloud forum has better chance.

  • Keeping keywords when importing photos into iphoto on second computer?

I'm transferring my and my husband's photos from our individual computers to one central computer.
I can't figure out how to combine our iphoto libraries and keep all the keyword data.
I transferred his library intact and then imported my photos from my "originals" folder. Which file is the one that stores the keywords?

    riegelmom:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The only way you can do that is with the paid version of iPhoto Library Manager. It will let you merge two libraries and keep rolls, albums, keywords, etc. Well worth the investment.
