When I plug my ipod into the USB port I get an error that says I have no nor IRP stack locations. Do I have a driver problem with my Ipod?

  • Windows crashes - No more IRP stack locations

    I just installed iTunes 8.0 and after having to "run as Administrator" to get iTunes to work - I then docked my 3G iPhone and within about 10 seconds, I got a windows blue screen with the message - No more IRP stack locations. I tried several things to resolve it, then discovered there was a new windows update that had not yet been installed. I installed it, rebooted the machine - started back up and was able to then dock/sync my iPhone.
    Make sure you have ALL of the Windows Vista updates installed to ensure you don't run into this problem.

    You can edit your user account to make the machine run like the old windows XP.
    Naturally this sidesteps the added security in Vista, but as I install a lot, I'll run the odd risk of infection, most of the attacks thus far anyway, were stealthy from innocent investigations so would have passed security anyway ...
    I'm new enough to Vista .... can't tell you how many times I almost put my fist through my new monitor, before I discovered I can tun this bleeding annoyance off ...
    Firefox 3 also has recently stopped on of these hijack attacks.

  • No More IRP Stack Locations 0x00000035

    I am trying to repair a PC running Windows XP Embedded SP3. Upon boot the system BSOD's with a NO_MORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS error code 0x00000035I have found that if I remove add on hardware (CD-Drive, PCI Cards) the system will boot up fine.
    I have searched the TechNet database and unfortunately there is not a lot of info on this particular problem. The hot fix that is available is superseded by SP3 and the recommended registry edit has had no affect.
    *Edit*
    I should also mention that the system has had EWF enabled up until I started working on it. So I do not believe there have been any recent software (or hardware for that matter) changes to the system.

    In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
    If
    you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate
    to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    2. Copy any and all
    DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
    3. Upload
    the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Prefered sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers.
    4 (optional): The type
    of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps
    in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains much more
    information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps
    are much larger in
    size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
    If
    you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
    Upload
    photos and files to Onedrive.
    Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc, by default
    will delete .DMP files upon use.
    If
    your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot%
    which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause
    key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause
    key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system log'.
    Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that
    the WERS is ENABLED:
    Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is
    not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click
    Apply.

    Though we have configured Java in solution manager the stack file that is generated does not contain any java components
    You will probably need to update Solution Manager first with a number of corrections so you can get a correctly generated stack file. Depending on your ST400 version in Solution Manager apply collective corrections from "Note 1461849 - MOpz: Collective corrections 24" or "Note 1452118 - MOpz: Collective Corrections 23". They generally deal with these kind of stack file issues.

    I can see in the log that stack xml you are using is not for the system to whom  you are upgrading. That is the reason system is rejecting stack file. Please check above extract of logs.
    I would suggest you to please generate stack xml file for this system from MOPZ after correctly configuring SMSY and use it. Then your problem will be resolved.
    Thanks

  • Question about Toshiba Bluetooth stack V.4

    Hi
    We have a Fujitsu Siemens P7120 Laptop which requires the Toshiba Bluetooth stack located at http://aps.toshiba-tro.de/Bluetooth/pages/download.php
    When we install this in silent mode, the installation takes place however the Bluetooth does not initialise until the Toshiba Bluetooth information exchanger is launched!
    Is there anyway to make the whole installation complete without this other step?

    You should use the BT-stack of FSC. I also tried to install an OEM version of the Toshiba BT-stack, but in this case it was time limited. So check the "About" menu item to get get more details.

  • Always get "Can't detect initial thread location" when using compiler

    Hi,

    Well basically, all binary extraction was going fine and j2sdk1.4.2_04 folder was created successfully without error message at all...
    The problem is, i get this message everytime i execute java compiler...
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: Can't detect initial thread stack location
    java version "1.4.2_04"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_04-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_04-b05, mixed mode)
    I'm using FreeBSD 5.2.1. and running linux compatibility port... so the java sdk was extracted successfully without any modification or whatsoever...
    I appreciate if someone can help me with this...

  • Stack search

    Hi,
    I am have a class named location with the following fields, int x, int y and I create a stack with
    the class location. I think the stack search doesnt work properly. I used
    stack.search(item) == -1 to mean if there isnt the item in the stack do the following
    is this correct?
    public class Location
              public int     x;
              public int     y;
                    public void remake()
              Stack<Location> locationsVisited = new Stack<Location>();

                      if (locations.search(neighbours.get(neighbourId)) == -1)
                       System.out.println("Accepted");

                                 else
                          Ids.add(neighbourId);

  • The Stack an the heap

    Hi,
    I am trying to get a good understanding of the uses, differences between these 2 concepts.
    (1)My understanding now is that when a program executes the line for a class member"
    MyClass myInst  = new MyClass()"the MyClass reference, myInst, is stored on the stack while the object itself is stored on the Heap, is anyof this correct?
    (2)
    Within a method any local variables created are all stored on the stack. ?

    More specifically....
    Conceptually each object instance is represented by a 'pointer' (forget reference for now.)
    Given the following code
          class MyClass
                void doit(int i)
                      Object r = new Object();
    On entry to doit() above the stack frame would look like this....
       0: 4 bytes, contains 'pointer' to instance of MyClass (the this pointer)
       1: 4 bytes, contains the value of 'i' (note it does not contain 'i' but rather the value to 'i')
       2: 4 bytes, <empty, no value, null>
    After executing the 'new' expression the stack frame would look like the following....
       0: 4 bytes, contains 'pointer' to instance of MyClass (the this pointer)
       1: 4 bytes, contains the value of 'i' (note it does not contain 'i' but rather the value to 'i')
       2: 4 bytes, contains 'pointer' to instance of Object
    Notes:
    - In the above there is no 'reference'. Technically one could say that the 'reference' referred to in the code as 'r' is simply the literal value '2' (which is the address in the stack frame.)
    - When the method returns it needs to know where to return to. In the implementation of some languages the return address would be on the stack frame. In some java implementations that is possible as well. However, where the return address is kept is definitely an implementation detail of the particular VM.
    To demonstrate the above, at least indirectly, one can use "javap -c MyClass" and a slight modification of the above code....
         class MyClass
                private int x = 3;
                void doit(int i)
                      Object r = new Object();
                      i++;
                      x += 5;
    The relevant part of the javap output (your results may differ depending on the version of java you are using and the compiler as well.) I added comments to explain what it is doing.
       void doit(int);
         Code:
          // ---- Line: Object r = new Object();
          // Create a new Object and put it on the stack
          // (The 3 in the following is the reference to the literal that holds the name of the class)
          0:   new     #3; //class Object
          3:   dup
          // Call the constructor
          4:   invokespecial   #1; //Method java/lang/Object."<init>":()V
          // Stack Frame: Store the value on the stack, the pointer, in location 2
          7:   astore_2
          // ---- Line: i++;
          // Stack Frame:  Incement location 1(the first '1' is the location.)
          8:   iinc    1, 1
          // ---- Line: x += 5;
          // Stack Frame: Put the 'this' pointer on the stack, getting it from location 0.
          11:  aload_0
          12:  dup
          // Put the pointer to x on the stack
          13:  getfield        #2; //Field x:I
          // Add 5 to the stack location, and put the result on the stack
          16:  iconst_5
          17:  iadd
          // Store the result on the stack back in the field
          18:  putfield        #2; //Field x:I
          21:  return

  • Windows 8.1 Pro x64 BSOD 0x9f DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

    I bought a new ASUS N76VZ about 2 weeks ago that came with Windows 8. I did a clean upgrade to windows 8.1 Pro and I proceed to install the drivers for the various utilities for the system. Shortly afterward, I repeatedly get this bugcheck stop error at
    least once a day.
    This is very annoying as I am a college student and it makes it difficult to to keep up if it throws this error when in class (which it has done so twice already). I proceeded to do some research into the cause of the error and i have found it comes back
    to a hardware compatibility issue (I assume, if not then your welcome to correct me).
    The following minidumps can be found at http://sdrv.ms/1blPxrT.  If anyone could shed some light on the exact cause of the problem would be much appreciated. If the above minidumps do not have enough information to find the cause, let me know and
    i will get whatever is needed.
    Thanks.

    HO
    Still blamed on the video driver and the video driver is the same date.  You need to find a drive (older) that will work.  I would also consider removing Symantec.

    This was Related to iaStorA.sys Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver from Intel Corp.  I would remove the current one and install the newest available driver (do not reboot)
    If you continue to crash I would remove Symantec.

  • Windows 8 EventID 1001 BugCheck 0xa1 BSOD

    As mentioned I am having a fairly common BSOD problem. I really hope its not a hardware issue as this is a new desktop.
    The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0xa0000001 (0x0000000000000005, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 031714-23968-01.
    Anyway, here is the MEMORY.DMP file:
    Please let me know what the problem is asap. This has been happening over the last couple of months, and its completely random and doesn't happen very often which makes me think it is a driver issue of some kind? At least I REALLY hope so...
    Ill edit with link to skydrive when upload is complete it is a large file...any thoughts on the bugcheck though?

    Irsterrific
    For future reference please change your system control panel settings to "small" DMP as it wil make uploading it (and downloading)  much faster.
    This one crash points to DirectX (dxkrnl.sys) /atikmpag.sys  making an incorrect power request to ACPI.  I would start by installing the newest driver available.
    To ensure minidumps are enabled:
    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.

    MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS (44)
    A driver has requested that an IRP be completed (IoCompleteRequest()), but
    the packet has already been completed. This is a tough bug to find because
    the easiest case, a driver actually attempted to complete its own packet
    twice, is generally not what happened. Rather, two separate drivers each
    believe that they own the packet, and each attempts to complete it. The
    first actually works, and the second fails. Tracking down which drivers
    in the system actually did this is difficult, generally because the trails
    of the first driver have been covered by the second. However, the driver
    stack for the current request can be found by examining the DeviceObject
    fields in each of the stack locations.

  • Windows 8.1 Pro DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSOD

    I built a PC a few months ago, and recently decided to move to Windows 8. I had a Windows 8 upgrade key, so I had to go through Windows 8 before I could move to 8.1. Before I could upgrade to 8.1, I needed my Ethernet driver updated, because W8 does not
    have the proper Intel I217-V driver. I downloaded the latest driver off of the internet, and when I went to install it, every time just before the installation finished, I got a BSOD (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION). I had to install the drivers off the CD. I upgraded
    to Windows 8.1, and updated the drivers without a problem. But now, every once in a while, I get the same BSOD in the Windows 8.1 login screen. I have uploaded the dump file to SkyDrive.

    This one was related to a known problem with LogMeIn Hamachi Virtual Miniport Driver. Driver Update Site: https://secure.logmein.com/products/ios/
    Their 1/23/2014 driver (which is your date) is buggy.  I suggest you contact them for a patch, beta, or work around or wailing that revert to an older driver until they figure it out

  • Printer not mapping on client pc

    Hi,
    Printer not mapping on client pc, and am manually add network printer but error message is getting like this..
    Windows cannot connect to the printer. There is not enough memory to complete this operation. please close some programs and try again.

    Hi,
    Try update your printer driver to newest version for good measure.
    To me it appears like Vista's IRP Stack size is in error and gives those out of memory errors. I already checked the parameter in Windows 7.
    Many similar cases have been resolved with the help of this. Hope it helps you too.
    “Set in the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters
    The default value of the IRPStackSize parameter is 15. The range is from 11 (0xb hexadecimal) through 50 (0x32 hexadecimal).
    If the subkey is not present, you can use Registry Editor to add the subkey. To do this, follow these steps: 1.Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters
    3. Click Edit, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    4. Type IRPStackSize, and then press ENTER to name the value.
    Note Type IRPStackSize exactly as it is displayed. The value name is case sensitive.
    5. Click Edit, and then click Modify.
    6. In the Data Value box, type the value that is appropriate for the network, and then click OK.
    If the problem persists after you complete this procedure, increase the value of IRPStackSize even more.”
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/285089/en-us
    It is an old KB article which applies to Windows XP, but same solution has resolved many I/O problem in Windows VISTA, 7, 8.

    D. Wu

    Not sure what the issue is as I have updated
    Thank you

    Lunat1k
    First step is to update to service pack 1.  That may by itself fix the issue.
    Second if it does not this one crash was Related to e1c62x64.sys Gigabit Adapter NDIS 6.x driver from Intel Corporation.  I would remove the current version and install the newest version available.
