No iTunes syncing after AT

I had my iPhone 4S unlocked by AT&T after early contract termination. Now I cannot sync with iTunes. More precisely, iTunes performs syncing, but nothing happens. I can't download my private music library. Has anyone experienced something similar, or knows remedy?

You've posted in the WRONG forum. You won't get any help here unless your question is about Apple's server hardware.

My PC's HDD crashed - I installed new HDD and reinstalled Win7 -  Now when I want to sync with Itunes - I tunes wants to delete all the Music on my Iphone ? I do not want to have my Iphone have 5 songs like my pc - I want my PC to have 500 songs like my iphone.
How do I get to send all the Songs on my Iphone back onto my PC - Itunes reports you have 2 computers activated - Naturally it is impossible to deactivate the crashed HDD -  This is erroneosly report anyway - It is the same PC just new HDD !
Non of the threads I found in this forum gives a satisfactory answer is this basically a warning against using i-tunes and apple for music maintenance ?

iTunes syncing of music is one way, and always has been. You sync from the music library in iTunes to the iPhone. The iPhone does not have a disc mode like the old iPods and thus cannot be read from in that manner. If you did not have a backup of your iTunes folder on the old computer, you need to look at this User Hint from another forum user to see about getting music off iPhone to the computer. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
If by chance you did have a backup of the hard drive, then copy the iTunes folder in its entirety and put it on the new computer. While you would still get a warning that iTunes will erase the music, you will be able to sync it back since you have it. The iPhone sees the new computer install you did as a new device.

  • IPod touch won't launch, asks for iTunes sync after it has already setup.

Asked for update and will not restore. IOS 4.2.1 is installed. We have already set it up and used the iPod, but recently we have turned it off and it's asking for us to sync it with iTunes. Just like the setup was. We did what it asked but nothing will show up in iTunes indicating that the iPod is connected. The iPod was first connected to another PC, but was recently connected to current PC. We have tried bipassing this setup, but have failed to work around it. If anyone could help, that would be great

  • ITunes sync after iCloud restore

So after retoring from an iCloud backup, I found that I can't sync apps with my computer without deleting all of them from my iPhone? Anyone find a worksround to this?

Thanks! I was hoping there was a way to store page/folder info for apps too, but this is more than fine.
Looks like the backup includes all the user data for each app as well (or it's stored somewhere, anyway), since all the app configs and data seem to be there when I re-download the app. Nice!
Followup question: what is "transfer purchases" for if you can't transfer them back to the device after a restore? I'm not complaining, just asking. What can you do with the transferred purchases?

  • My 5th Gen iPod Touch will not sync after I updated my iTunes

Right after I updated my iTunes on my PC, it will no longer sync anything. My apps, my music, everything won't sync.
It just says that I can't sync because I need more space (8.30GB to be exact). But before I updated my iTunes, everything was fine. The thing is I want my iTunes and iPod to synchronize with each other without losing anything.
    Can someone help me?
Also, my OS is already iOs 7.1

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync? It appears not.

  • Ipod touch will not sync after new itunes update

Ipod touch 4th generation will not sync after I updated the new itunes. Actually after I updated to the new itunes it deleted all my music from my ipod and refuses to reload. If someone could please help me that would be completely appreciated. I tried trying to sync each song individually but it didn't help (before it stopped syncing), then it stopped syncing, even though I have it hooked up it brings everything that I have on my ipod up but it won't do anything.

When I tried the first time it asked me if i wanted it to stop syncing and to restore. It gave the choices of yes and cancel, i didn't click either because the option box went away and it just stopped restoring on its own. I did the store again and now it is asking if i want to set up as a new ipod or to restore to Andrea's ipod. Should I set up as new?

Need some help: my itunes won't sync with my iphone anymore. Both softwares are up to date and I've reinstalled itunes. After I reinstall, it syncs. But then when I reboot my computer, it no longer syncs anymore and I have to keep reinstalling itunes. Thoughts???

thought that it was possible to have the same iTunes library on any machine that was authorised, a kind of cloud-iTunes I guess.
That would convenient, but sadly it is not the case. Sorry!
Either way your welcome and best of luck!

  • IPod Nano won't sync after iTunes update to 11

My 5th Generation iPod Nano will not sync to iTunes 11. I am running iTunes 11.0.1, on an one year old iMac running on an Intel Core i5, running MacOS X 10.8.2 with 4 GB of memory. Now that we got that out of the way-- I use this iPod daily. Once I updated to iTunes 11, synching has been sporatic. Once I plug the iPod in, iTunes opens like it should, however the iPod never appears in the iTunes window, only in the Finder. I have done the following:
ejected the iPod from the Finder window and then unplugged it, and reattached the iPod.
Quit iTunes and restarted, reStarted the iPod by toggling the power switch and holding the Menu/Select buttons until it restarted.
    Rebooted my computer
    Restored the iPod nano
Results are the same. Sometimes it will sync, after an extended period of time, without reason. Once I eject and need to reconnect the device, I am unable to get it to sync. Sometimes I have ended up with a spinning beachball and have force quit iTunes and sent a report and a description, but Apple doesn't seem to have come up with an update yet.
I can tell you this-- I have not seen an iPod that would be a suitable replacement for this one-- I love not having to look at the screen to operate it's simple controls, and it is the perfect size.
I can also tell yo uthis-- The new suprise user interface on iTunes 11 is clunky and requires too many steps to maintain my playlists. Do not like it.
    Suggestions?

  • I recently purchased Windows 8 laptop and installed Office 2013. I then installed iTunes. After moving all my music to the new PC, I got iTunes to import it and sync it to my iPod (3rd gen).  However, I cannot get iTunes to sync my Outlook Contacts

I recently purchased a Windows 8 laptop and istalled Office 2013.  I then installed iTunes. After moving all my music to my new PC I got iTunes to import it, and then synced it to my iPod (3rd gen.) However, I cannot get iTunes to sync my Outlook Calendar or Contacts with my iPod.  When I try it crashes Outlook.  iTunes continues to try to sync, but when it finishes my Calendar and Contents are empty (ERASED!).  I have de-installed and re-installed iTunes (according to Apple's instructions), repaired Office 2013 and Outlook, scanned for viruses (etc), cleaned out temp folders, defragmented, etc., etc., etc. Has anyone seen this before, and does anyone know houw to fix it?  (HELP!)

Well, I guess I have to download some other software to make my apple product work. Really great stuff you guys sell. I will never buy another apple product. My Iphone, Ipod and Itunes are junk

  • ITunes wont sync after first sync from start up....

I'm having troubles with my iPod 80 gig
First off, I can sync the ipod if I add the new song, movies, etc. then restart the computer. Upon restart, it will open itunes, sync it, and then idle. After this, I cannot sync it again w/o doing the above processes.
Secondly, the ipod or itunes is not fully syncing my library. It won't sync mulitple songs from the same artist if there is only one album listed. It will only sync the one song that has the album listed. For example...
    1) Alice Cooper - Steven (song) - Welcome to my nightmare (album) (successfully added to iPod)
Alice Cooper - I'm Eighteen (song) - No album listed - (Was not added to iPod)
But, if the artist has multiple albums listed in the library, it will add all the songs, even ones that have no album listed.
I hope this is clear, its hard to explain but annoying to deal with.

I recently reinstalled and I had a few errors when it installed. It asked me to put in the CD labeled 1. When I did, said it couldn't find it but kept installing anyway.
    that might be our culprit.
i just went searching at Microsoft, but couldn't find anything relevant to that sort of message. (no guarantee that there isn't anything there ... i might just have been looking in the wrong places.)
so it might be worth heading to your PC manufacturer's website to see if they have any specific troubleshooting advice on installing XP Media Center on your particular make and model of PC.

  • Iphone 4 not recognized and will not sync after latest itunes update.  I have done all trouble shooting and uninstalled and reinstalled itunes to no avail.

iphone 4 not recognized and will not sync after latest itunes update.  I have done recommendedl trouble shooting and uninstalled and reinstalled itunes to no avail. Can I go back to earlier version of itunes or restore computer to fix?

'The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\Web kit.resources\inspector\Images\Spinner Inactive Selected.gif.'
That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • TS1447 I always get an error that says 3 items could not be synced after an Itunes sync. How do I know what they are and what to do bat them

I geta message after attempting to sync with Itunes that says 3 items could not be synced. How do I know what these 3 items are? What should I do about this?

I updated to iOS 5.0.1 days ago and didn't receive that notification until just now...
This time I synced new photos I took yesterday, and it gave me the:
"iTunes Sync: 54 items could not be synced. See iTunes for more information"
Perhaps it kicks off when new items get synced.
I've decided to rent a movie yesterday. Once it gets deleted, I'm curious to see if it jumps to 55 items.

  • Sync apps back to iTunes library after iTunes reinstall

    Hello there,
I recently had to format my PC due to a virus. Now after reinstalling iTunes, I cant resync my many purchased apps back to my PC. The only option it is giving me is to erase the iphone and start again. How can I get my apps back onto my PC as I'm worried that when software version 3.0 comes out, I will loose all my apps after updating?

Did you update your computer's backup or create a backup before reformatting your computer's hard drive which should include your iTunes library?
If not, did you lose all of your computer's data due to this Windows virus? If you lost all data due to this virus, I don't understand why anyone chooses to put up with such a swiss cheese for security operating system that is Windows.
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes store, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. After doing so, with your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
If all 3rd party apps do not transfer from your iPhone to your iTunes library, you can re-download the 3rd party apps with iTunes on your computer and you won't be charged again for any 3rd party paid apps as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the apps that was used to purchase the apps originally.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only. When syncing an iPhone with an iTunes library on another computer, all iTunes content on your iPhone that was transferred from a different computer will be erased first. The same applies to photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. Your iPhone detects your computer as a new or different computer since your computer's hard drive was reformatted.

  • I purchased my daughter the new ipod. I downloaded the latest version of itunes and after syncing the new ipod, I was unable to get the majority of my songs. They all appear with an exclamation point. Even the ones purchased on itunes. Why?

I purchased my daughter the new ipod. I downloaded the latest version of itunes. After syncing the ipod, all my songs appear grayed out. They have an exclamation point next to them. Even the ones I purchased from itunes. How do I get my songs back?

Usually, the exclamation mark tells you that the song was not where the program expected to find it. It may also mean that there was an error with the file itself.
If you click on the exclamation mark, it may give you a reason. You can also double click the file to make it play. If the file is not found, it will tell you. Just follow the prompts to look for the song again. It will ask you if you want to look for the other missing songs in the same folder. You can do it, but unfortunately, the last few updates have made the program blind to the songs that are there and you sometimes have to do the same process for each song.
If neither of these help, I would suggest starting from scratch and reinstalling iTunes. I have had to do that before. Do your best to back up the library and such first.
Sometimes a computer will rename a hard disk (Windows) and all the songs on that disk will be gone to iTunes because it will think it's looking in the right place. It can't recognize that the hard disk or partition has been renamed.
I know that this is a podcast, but the principle is the same. A dialogue box should pop up to tell you just what the problem is.
       I hope this helps!

  • Cannot backup and sync after updated iTunes

Cannot backup and sync after updated iTunes. Have tried to hard reset iPhone (all data lost- sad) and reinstalled iTunes. Still cannot work.

It sounds like you bough the song only, not the song and the ringtone.
Ringtones via itunes are available in the U.S. only.
In the U.S. to make a ringtone you:
Buy the song with a bell - 99 cents
Find the song in your library and click the bell
    This bring up the editor.
You edit the song to the portion you want.
Then click buy to purchase the ringtone - another 99 cents.
Then it shows up in ringtones and you can sync.
As I said, this method of creating ringtones is available in the U.S. only.
There are, however, many ways to make ringtones:
