No key guard lock option in my new BB

Last week I bought 8520, later I realised that the phone doean't have "Keyboard lock" option. Advise me How I can fix it.

With BlackBerry® 5.0 software the lock icon is only displayed when a passord is set, to lock the keyboard, press and hold the A/* key, and unlock by holding Play/Pause key.

I've seen this in "demo' units of the iphone. For obvious reasons, demo units don't have those settings so people playing with them in stores can't screw with those settings. I'd bet money you got an iphone with demo software on it...it happens from time to time, although the units are clearly labeled as such. You have two choices to fix this: 1. Take it back to where you got it & exchange for a non-demo unit(recommended), 2. Restore the phone as a "new" device(not from backup) & then re-sync your itunes content.

If you use a regular pattern when entering values, press enter (return) after entering the last value in a row. That will take you to the first Body Cell of the next row.
Start in Cell B2
1 Tab 2 Tab 3 Enter
4 Tab 5 Tab 6 Enter
7 Tab 8 Tab 9 Enter
Now you are ready to type into B5 .
Another way that some people find easier is to enter one column at a time
Start at B2
1 enter
4 enter
7 enter
etc.
Now start with C2.
Use whatever suits your work flow.

Child Scan Lock Option / Printer that is compatible with Mac OSX 10.4.11

I'm new here and I tried to look for the answer of my questions.
1. I'm looking for a printer that has a child scanner lock option. (DeskJet, Photosmart doesn't matter)
2. Any printer that is compatibe with my Mac OS 10.4.11

Mail 2.1.3 (753.1/753) locks up when creating new account window

Apple Mail lets you create a new blank account window in
Mail -> Preferences... -> Accounts
by holding the [alt] key and clicking [+].
Creating a new, blank account window lets you avoid using the annoying "wizard" that launches if you simply click the [+]. (The wizard spends a long time testing your entries so, if you are not sure whether your username is supposed to be in the format "martin" or "[email protected]" or "martin+somewhere.com" or "martin%somewhere.com", you can spend a long time watching that wheel spinning!)
However, it has always been a little "flakey" and now, with version 2.1.3 (753.1/753), it causes Mail to "lock up" (become unresponsive to mouse clicks) and requires a forced quit.
I've tested this on three completely different G4 Macs (running 10.4.11) and get the same symptoms with each. I have also tried Mail 2.1 (752/752.2) on a G4/1.2GHz iBook and that works fine. So my guess is that the later update broke it.

Yes, Leopard is fine. The problem lies with Tiger and Mail Mail 2.1 (752/752.2)

If you have generated a new Recovery Key, then unfortunately the account data that you had before is gone (Sync will wipe all data before creating a new key to ensure it stays secure). So unfortunately at this point, unless you have a backup of your data somewhere, it is inacessible.

Kensington MicroSaver Keyed Notebook Lock and MacBook Pro 2009.

I just bought a Kensington MicroSaver Keyed Notebook Lock (TW041LL/A) at an Apple Store. I've read negative reviews saying the lock destroys Kensington lock slots on MacBook Pros. I called Apple and Kensington about this issue. Apple says they aren't aware of a compatibility issue, while Kensington says their lock is not compatible with MacBook Pros. However, Kensington also told me that the lock will work if I remov the rubber stopper from the Kensington lock. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? I'd rather not destroy the lock slot on my new MacBook Pro.

Zonoid, I'm with you on this one. I've also been trying to find a suitable laptop lock for my June 09 MBP after my 3 week old Late 08 MBP was stolen from my university. I read about the toilet paper roll trick for the Kensington locks but didn't know that Kensington had rectified the problem, which is very good to know. However, if there is a new problem with the lock, as you state, then I may have to continue my search. I was down to either a Kensington or one by a company here in Sweden called Safeware. The Safeware locks are sold at the local Mac reseller stores as seem to be quite good and are cheaper than the Kensington locks. However, they also have a tube-style key which I am not fond of. I would prefer a normal key like a door key since it would be much harder to open.

With that said, I have found what I feel is the perfect lock albeit they only ship within the UK. I do have friends there so i may ask to use their address to ship to and get them to forward to lock to me. IPhoto- no option to "create new library"

Hi all
When I try to import new photos into iPhoto I get the message that there is not enough space in my library to allow it. I have searched for this issue alone on these message boards and have seen I need to check my memory (I have over 90gb free) and then to try "create new library" when opening with command and alt button, to see if there's any concerns in doing that.
My issue is that I don't have the option to "create new library." it is not there at all. I have already tried rebuilding it from this option but I still get the not enough memory warning.
Can anyone advise?

To create a new Library you hold the option (or alt) key when launching, not the command and alt keys
However, ths message is bogus - after all you have 90 gigs free - and usually implies a damaged database.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Safari locks up on Yahoo news videos. They work fine on Firefox. Safari doesn't actually crash. It simply becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit it. When I launch Safari again, no sites will load. If I quit Safari and start it again, this time it works. Any suggestions?

Quit Safari. If it won't quit in the usual way, select
 ▹ Force Quit...
from the menu bar, then select Safari from the list and press return.
Relaunch Safari by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. That will stop the bad page from reloading automatically. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server.

"New Project" choose option & when choose new, "Electric Guitar" -nothing!

Hi, Please would someone help me figure this GB preview/problem out?!
GB was fine for a few months, new computer etc but then...
here it is:
One day when I opened GB, i selected 'electric guitar' icon option in the 'new project' section where you can choose 'software instrument',
'real instrument' and 'electric guitar' options
to start the project off with, clicked 'choose' and nothing happened.
So i chose a normal one and went in and tried to get up a 'new track' and selected 'electric guitar' from there, but nothing. No amps or pedals anywhere in the right hand list section. Normal/software tracks opened and worked ok.
Now there are no icons/options in the 'new project' window,
at all!
It's dark grey - but if i double click on the 'new project' button on left list,
it brings up a basic style project name/signature/tempo etc window and then when it opens - does with software track.
So if i choose 'new track' from Track menu and select 'electric guitar' from the drop down preview tab thing w pictures like the preview thing used to be on the 'new project' window used to have, it doesn't do anything 'cept bring up the keyboard...
All the 'magic' and 'learn to play' etc options come up with preview choice/options when clicked but not 'New Project'.
Any ideas anyone?! This is what i've tried so far:
1. i've deleted garageband plists except the one that says "com.apple.garageband.LSSharedFileList.plist" cus i don't know what that one is exactly -
Is it safe to delete it?!
2. repaired permissions
3. Thought about other apps that might be causing probs - uninstalled a Guru drum thing -still no luck-
4. in the library and i can't find 'electric guitar' folder
in any of the application support folders...
5. and wondered - I installed a retail copy of Logic Express 8
so i thought perhaps that was something to do with it...
can't remember if that was around the same time - maybe - but
it's so difficult to use and i'm learning it o so slowly - i really need my faithful ole GB to work
in the meantime!!
Would appreciate any info/ similar experiences, solutions etc,
before i resort to a GB re-install from disc
(if that's possible from the ones that came with the computer, perhaps...???)

You are allowed to have two activted installations, so if the first machine is the only machine with an activated installation there is nothing prohibiting you from installing and activating on the new machine.
You can contact Adobe Support thru chat to have the old installation deactivation.
