If you are still under warranty and/or have AppleCare, call them. Let them deal w/it. Out of warranty, your keyboard may need cleaning. Use a vacuum hose or a can of compressed air to get the dirt out from under the keys. For instructions to remove the keys if it comes to that check out the following websites:

If you do not want to DIY, take your MBP to your local AS or an AASP.

Maybe the key cap is not mounted correctly?
Usually you can remove the key caps from the keyboard
Do it carefully (dont use any force in order not to break something) and check if something prevent the button from correctly working.
If everything will look ok then I would recommend contacting an ASP technician for help maybe the whole keyboard must be replaced in order to solve this button issue

Bitlocker enabled drive, recovery key needed during boot, PCS did not match, event id 24635, source bitlocker-driver

After rebooting one of our test machines, bitlocker wanted the recovery key.
There were no hardware modifications on that machine.
Error message in event log:
Bootmgr failed to obtain the bitlocker volume master key from the TPM because the PCRs did not match
Event id 24635, source bitlocker-driver
Each time the machine starts, the recovery key is needed.
Any idea how to solve that issue and why it happens?
update:
Second partition was created manually on that machine. So that's clear that bitlocker reacts...
But now: how can I confirm those changes so that the recovery key is not needed each time we boot?

I would like to confirm if BitLocker accepts the recovery key?
Please update the BIOS to improve the stability for TPM first.
I also would like to suggest you disable and enable BitLocker again to reset the settings.

Do encryption keys need to be rotated for TKIP?

I have a wireless Bridge link using 1400 Bridges and TKIP encryption. I am using an internal RADIUS server on the Root Bridge that is used to authenticate the non-Root Bridges. Do I need to set a reauthentication time (dot1x timeout reauth-period) so the non-root Bridges have to reauthenticate to periodically change the Unicast keys being used between the Bridges? Do I need to rotate the Broadcast keys (broadcast-key change)? I didn't think this needed to be done with TKIP, but I wanted to make sure.

You don't need to reauthenticate, TKIP never uses the same key anyway. The only advantage of reauthentication is to ... reauthenticate, i.e. making sure it's still the right bridge on the other side. TKIP actually derives a master key out of the radius credentials and then derive a unique key to encrypt each frame out of that one.
Reauthenticating rotates the master key used. But it's already normally impossible to break tkip based on radius.
Rotating broadcast is useful though as broadcast keys stay the same for everyone on the SSID until rotation, they are subject to being compromised more easily.

Invalid License Key need help

I just installed kodo 3.0.1 using the windows installer, I also asked it to
install it in JBuilder9.
Then when I went into JBuilder I saw the Configure KODO JDO under tools
menu,
when I click on this selefction the dialog comes up OK
but when I try to close / OK this dialog I get an invliad license message.
One mistake I did was that I satarted JBuilder9 before I updated the
kodo.properties file.
I closed JBuiulder and then updated the properties file and tried Jbuyilder
again and got same invalid license message.
Can you tell me how to fix this ?

It wasn't clear from the documentation that I needed to do that. I am using
3.0.0 docs and maybe that was the problem.
Anyway I had added the license to the properties file and as you mentioned I
added it to the General Tab and that solved the problem . I didn't see any
project tabs.

Office product key needed

I took my 4 year old g550 laptop back to it's start this week and found that I no longer have full office access- it's the trial version and I need to put in the 25 digit key to get full access again.
Yes - I DID have the full office for 4 years in case anyone is going to tell me I only had the trial one.
Anyway, how do I find out what the key is? I didn't get a disc at the time, it was just "on" when I bought it.

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If the computer was purchased from Lenovo together with an Office Registered,
It should come with a Key card where it list your Product key for Office.
That is the only original copy of the Office Product key and Lenovo does not have any copy of it.
was the computer purchased with office from another store or the Lenovo Website.

Touchpad mouse keys need to be replaced

My HP laptop touchpad keys are missing. I need to replace the left click key. I found places to get keyboards or specific keys. But I am not sure where to get the touchpad keys. Any ideas on where to get replacement parts for these and is it easy to fix them once I get them somewhere ?

I am bring this topic back, cause got a very similar problem.
I am using a german keyboard and in xfce4, gnome or wherever all keys are working.
Only in kde the " ´ " doesnŽt appear. I always get a " Ž "
I tried every possible setting in controlcenter or player with deadkeys or nodeadkey in xorg.
Stupid kde just dont care.
Ayn other idea how to fix this?

Really I'm wondering "Press 'ESC' Key" the Script is Stopped. But OtherApplication 'EXE''s are not stopped even InDesign Plug-In also.
Is there any solutions while I'm pressing 'ESC' key the InDesign Script is automatically stopped. But I need to run the script without any interruption using this 'ESC' or other keys. I tried so many RnD's, But I didn't get any solutuions.

I'm also tried so many times, but the script is stopped when I press [Interupt] the "Esc" KEY Button.
One of my friend suggested "TSR" Programming to use comment the "ESC" KEY button action, after that running the ESTK Script then finally activate the "ESC" KEY button action. [Both STOP and START the "ESC" KEY Button action though create the "TSR" programming]
1. Is it possible to Stop & Start the "ESC" KEY Button create through TSR Programming?
2. TSR Program we can use to ESTK script - is it possible?.
I dont know what exactly the "Esc" Button is doing the operation. But the same time "Esc" Button is equal to "Cancel" button functionality - Java script Reference Guide mentioned.
So what my understand in this ESTK - script is "ESC" button means "Cancel" button... I'm I right ? or else...

Product Key needs reactivated.

We are a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher. We have refurbished a large number of Dell OptiPlex 745s over the last couple years putting on Windows 7 Home Premium.
We sold one to a customer last month - he brought it in today saying he has had to re-enter the product key every few days. It comes up saying it may be counterfeit.
We have never run into this before - we checked all the event viewer logs and there didn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary.
Also Microsoft Secuirty Essentials turns itself off.
Anyone have any ideas????????????????

Product Keys needed?

Just like so many others I am getting the Hard Drive fail message thing. So my plan is to Back Up doing the Image on an external hard drive, replace the Hard Drive. I think I have an idea how to reload the OS and Programs back onto the new drive but do i need the Product Keys for Windows 7 and Office 7? The key for Windows is worn off and I can't get to the email that had the Office key,
is there an easy way to get these?

If you use HP recovery disc's then you should not need the COA under the laptop.
Office I am not sure???

Keyboard - some keys need heavy or repeated stroke

My "c" and "-" keys have not been reliable. They need a heavy stroke, or repeated strokes. Is there a way to clean the contacts of the keyboard keys? I don't want to buy a new keyboard for this problem, but it is slowly getting more prevelant.

The actual contacts are sealed between layers of plastic, so it's impractical to clean them. If you are lucky, you may just have some debris around the rubber dimple that does the pushing. You could try removing the keycap and inspecting the scissor mechanism and dimple.

As far as I know you an remove the single keycaps but I doubt you could order just view keycaps instead of the whole keyboard.
Usually if some keys are broken, then you would need to replace the whole keyboard
At the other hand if you could try to purchase a second hand keyboard for L40 and could replace the needed keycaps
But note buddy; if the keyboard buttons dont functions, then a keycap replacement would not help you.

Access key needed when creating a new database table with SE11

Hi,
I'm using SAP Testdrive (evaluation) on linux in order to learn a bit about ABAP programming. I want to create a new database table in the dictionary to be used in my programs. I proceed in the following way:
1) I run the SE11 transaction
2) At the first entry I write the name of the table to be created (in the Database Table field)
3) I click on the create button.
But then the system asks me an Access Key to register, where can I get this?

Ok I found the answer to my question in another thread

Make sure that your program names starts with "Z" or "Y", otherwise the system will ask you to register the object because it thinks you are creating/changing in the SAP namespace.
In fact this was my error, my table name didn't start with neither "Z" nor "Y".

Composite Primary Key needs Unique ID column or no?

Hello Dears ,
I have a table that it's primary key is composite key of two columns , and there are like 5 info columns . You think I shall use the two columns as primary key of this table or create unique ID column .
Example :
Table Employees :
Table Departments :
The problem table is Department Managers :
Now I'll be adding employee id and department id in this table plus manager info etc..( info doesnt exist in employee table) , shall i use them as primary or create id column in this table ??

I would use employe_id and department_id to define the PK. I see no reason for adding a meaningless key in such a case.
