No keyboard rotation in some apps

Hello,
in some apps (in landscape modus), when I want to give in some text, the keyboard will be opened into portrait mode.
So i have to rotate the iPhone, then I give in my text, and after sending text, I have to rotate back to landscape modus.
Happens onto iPhone 4, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 plus, iPad mini and iPad Air after updating to iOS 8 - 8.02.
For example into this App you can see it:
http://www.gameloft.com/HOC/

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

  • Onscreen keyboard is all !!!! In some apps

is anyone having problems with their onscreen keyboard? In some apps all of the etters are replaced with ! so its guesswork to try and type anything. The numbers and emoticons are ok.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Some apps do not rotate keyboard to landscape

I purchased a used iPhone 4 and reseted it to defaults.
All is fine but sometimes keyboard does not rotate to landscape.
Double clicked button and checked autorotate is unlocked.
These are some apps that don't rotate keyboard:
    Reminder
    Search Contacts
    Search Apple Store
    Settings text
    Facebook
    These do rotate:
    Calendar
    Evernote
    Messages
    Mailbox
Is that something regular? Could it be changed?
    Thank you

Also, after I added a second user, it required me to enter my password in Dvorak. This is a new iMac 24 onto which I transfered files from an iMac 20 that once used Dvoark as its primary input format. However, that computer was switched to the US format long before the new iMac 24 was purchased.
A strange coincidence is that the iMac 20 also went through a period where the second user account required Dvorak format for the password even though that user account only used US format. Any ideas?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Keyboard shortcut Command-~ DOES NOT WORK in/on some apps/machines

It seems that in Mac OS 10.6.2 the keyboard shortcut "Command-~" ( a.k.a.
"⌘-~" or "Command-tilde") is quite fickle. It is used in most apps to
switch between open windows within an application. It was available in OS
10.5 in Safari, Microsoft Office (including Entourage), and most other apps
with the capacity to open multiple windows simultaneously. But in OS 10.6.2
this shortcut is available in Safari on my 2.16 GHz Core2Duo 20" iMac but
NOT on my 2.4 GHz Core2Duo Unibody 13" MacBook; it's available in Entourage
on my MacBook but NOT on my iMac. So it's available on some apps and some
machines but not on others, there's no rhyme or reason to it, and it's not
consistent between like machines and apps, which makes me think that there's
a system-wide preference or command that could turn this on and off. I
thought perhaps it was controlled by a preference in certain apps, but I
have found no such prefs. Is there a way to control this - in other words,
to make it available where it currently is not? Or is there a command to
make it universally available on any 10.6 machine (my preferred solution)?
    Thanks for any help offered.

Not a reply to this specific question, just a quasi-relevant comment that might help some folks.
In Leopard, and with (for example) English and Russian chosen in System Prefs under "Language" and the keyboard shortcut set to command+space, I would always see the flag change in the menu bar as soon as command+space were chosen. Now, under Snow Leopard, hitting command+space seems not to make the change. But it does make the change, you just need to take your fingers off the keys first, then the flag will change.

  • I can't type my passcode for some app because the keyboard just wont show. Is this another flaw? Can some 1 give me a solution for this?

For some apps the keyboard just cant show when i want to type the passcode, any solution? Or is this another flaw/bug?

    RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

I can not get some apps to rotate to the landscape or horizonal position. Help !

Not all apps support landscape positioning. If you'll post the name of the apps you are having problems with, someone can probably tell you if that is indeed the case in your situation.

Hi all, my ipad mute hardware button just stopped functioning, I have to use lock rotation to enjoy some apps..what do I do?

Your statement doesn't make sense to me.... But it could just be me not understanding what you mean. Let me explain how the side switch and the control center work for screen rotation lock and system sounds.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.

If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

  • Some apps won't play sound through iPad2 speakers

I've noticed since updating to iOS 5 and 5.0.1, I've got more apps that won't play sound through ipad2 speakers, but will play sound through earphones though.  Using the same app on the iphone plays sound through the iphone speakers as normal.
It seems to be picky with which apps it does this to as Sky News/BBCiplayer/YouTube/Video/ IMDb all play sound through ipad speakers. Apps like FilmOn plus/ FreeAppMagic/ Falling Gems/ Bejeweled2/ FNS Shift2 will only play sound through earphones.  These Apps updating to the new iOS doesn't fix the sound issue either.
I can use an app that plays sound through iPad speakers, then use an app that doesn't play sound through the speakers, then use another app that does play sound through speakers, so the earphone connection actuator doesn't look like the problem to me.  Maybe some sound drivers may have been lost or deleted with new iOS updates over wifi...?
    Any help would be appreciated.

See if perhaps this is the reason why some apps aren't playing sound.

  • No sound or volume control in some apps

    Hi,
Recently (last fews days) I have noticed that sound is not working in some apps. Also the volume up/down buttons do not seem to work in these apps either - the onscreen volume level widget does not appear.
The issue is usually video related content such as the sky news app.
Not an issue system wide as the native video app works. so does air video.
I have restarted the ipad. also tried updating to latest firmware yesterday but issue persists.
    any assistance appreciated.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • Two inert in some apps

I have a Unicomp keyboard for my Mac Pro (with OS X.4.11), and everything works well except for two keys on the numeric keypad, + and -, that are inert in some apps. They work as expected in a few apps, such as jEdit and Maple, but not in most, including Terminal, TextMate, Bean (a text editor), Firefox, and others.
The Keyboard Viewer shows that the OS detects the key press, but the message never gets to the app being used. I tried to add then in the Terminal -> Window Settings -> Keyboard -> Add, but they don't appear in the list of keys. Is there a way to insert them? I do know their Unicode IDs: for '+' it is \002B and for '-' it is \002D.
Or is that not the right way to go about fixing this problem?
    Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

For Terminal applications you can verify what codes are being sent by Terminal using something like:
    cat -vt
    +
This should show you want Terminal sees. If it displays the + and - then, then it is most likey your Unicode values (assuming your Terminal is set to display Unicode).
However, if you get an escape sequence, then the Terminal is maybe not treating your + and - as Unicode keys, but rather function keys.
Now how Terminal handles your keyboard will be different from how other applications and utilities deal with the keyboard. I'm just offering one way to discover maybe how the Terminal behaves.

  • My sound only works through the ear phones with some apps....

With some apps (Games and books) I can only get sound on my IPAD 2 though the earphones...this just recently occured. With movies the sound goes through the speakers just fine.  Is there some adjustment I can make so I can hear the games without using the ear phones?

Make sure that you haven't got notifications muted (which will affect most games, but not iPod or Videos apps, nor earphones). Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to, notifications can either be muted by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar (the function that the switch isn't performing is on the task bar instead) : double-click the home button to bring up the task bar, slide the bar to the right, and it's the icon far left. There is more info about the switch and the task bar and the mute/rotation lock functions here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
