  • Problems with keyboard shortcuts after iOS 6 update?

Just to be clear what I am talking about, I am talking about Settings > General > Keyboard > Shortcuts.
My keyboard shortcuts stopped working after the software update. I have deleted and recreated them and nothing.
    Anyone else having this problem?

I have the same problem :(
I backed up my iphone 4S - which had been ugpraded to IOS6 - and when i restored to my Iphone 5 -- my shortcut keys had stopped working!
Turning it off - and back on again makes shortcuts work - but only for so long
All my shortcuts have been copied over correctly.

  • Keyboard issues after OS X update

Sine updating to OS X 10.9.4 yesterday, I've been unable to type the letter "c". It still works for keyboard shortcuts etc (command + c still works to copy) but it does not work while typing. Does anyone have any ideas for a fix for this?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

I have purchased a T61 in December 2007. The sound has always been low and now i have no sound at all.  I cannot hear files locally or on the Net -- or any of the computer sounds.
i realize now that it has happened after a Windows (Vista) update.  I have done every step but 6.
I have Speakers (SoundMax Integrated Digital HD Audio). The sound keeps defaulting to to Line 2 Muv Enum (Virtual Cable).

  • No sound after my pc updated to windows 8.1 - pelase help

Yesterday my pc updated to the full version of windows 8.1 after the update there is no sound.  I really need help in fixing this problem. I'm not sure how to fix this issuse.  I'd apprecaite any suggestions.  thanks

Hello nance220. Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand the computer's sound function stopped working after upgrading to Windows 8.1. Usually, an updated driver is required for this issue to be resolved. To pinpoint the correct driver, I do require the complete model number of the computer. For more information on how to do this, please reference this HP document: Locating the Model Number of the Computer
Additionally, you can use the HP Support Assistant to potentially install the correct audio driver. For more information on this, please reference this HP document: Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers
This document will provide instructions on how to use Support Assistant to download and install drivers. Doing this could resolve the issue. If not, please provide the requested information and I will assist you further. Have a great day!

The Spanish alternative still available but don't come out any sound. This used to work and now doesn't. I tested in others that used to work and now doesn't after the update. This is very disappointment. Why this it's happening? How to fix it?
    Really appreciate the help.
    Thank you!

what are the items youre having problems with?  have you checked to see if the problem is the same on the netflix website rto see if this is related to the appletv update or just something with netflix?

  • No sound after Windows 8 update on HP Pavilion G6

    Hi,
After updating Windows8 to 8.1 on my HP Pavilion G6-2235TX laptop i have no sound.
I have followed instructions posted on this forum and had no luck getting the sound to work.
I have tried updating to a couple of different drivers SP59649 & SP58517
Can anyone help with the correct driver that will work for my model laptop
    Thanks

    Hello gardied63,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that after updating to Windows 8.1 you don't have any sound and have tried to get it working. I will try to help you with this.
The link to the driver update for your sound can be located here: IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver. You will notice that it's a file that you've already tried. However, this is the correct driver for your Notebook.
What you can also do is follow this document: No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 8). Read over it carefully and try everything suggested as something here may help in correcting the issue you have.
Please let me know how this goes, thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • No sound after mountain lion update

Just updated to mountain lion from snow leopard...
After the update process was complete (I am currently running 10.8.2 on a MBP 2.3 early 2011 model) I noticed that there was no sound from my macbook pro speakers, except from the startup chimes sound.
In the Sound Settings in system preferencies there is no longer any Internal Speakers option in the output tab. Just a simple Digital Out with the volume slider grayed out.
Same thing with the Audio Midi Setup from Utilities where I am see a Built-In Output but all the sliders are grayed out as well.
If I plug in my headphones then all sounds work. When I unplug them, then the problem continues.
I tried all the following that I read from other users:
    Rebooted
    PRAM reset
    SMC reset
    Plug-Unplug the headphones.
Force Quit coreaudiod using the Activity Monitor Utility
    Nothing has worked.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Nas

    Hi there.
Sorry about my late reply but my issue was solved unexpectedly... I plugged in again the headphones and I forgot to plug them out for 20-30 min... Then when I unplugged them the problem was solved!!!! Therefor I didn't have the chance to try your solution but I'll keep it in mind for next time.
(However I was also experiencing some other issues as well after the upgrade so I erased everything and installed from scratch. Hope it never happens again.)

  • Why does my iPhone 4S not have sound after iOS 6 update?

After I downloaded iOS 6 I restarted my phone and when it came back on now sounds would play. I have restarted phone multiple time sound will not play and sound bar will not display anywhere.

I have an iPhone and an iPad Mini, but I only had the problem on the iPad Mini but this fix may work for you.
This is what I posted in another thread:
I HAVE FIGURED OUT THE FIX FOR THIS! ... (Well it worked for me on my iPad Mini.)
I saw a post from an apple rep telling a iOS 6 user to turn the side switch on to un-mute the sounds. A no-brainier yes, but it made me wonder if the side switch may have been temporarily "confused" after updating to iOS 7 because it added the new settings screen that swipes up from the bottom of the screen. I was using my side-switch to lock the screen rotation and it was in the "off" (down) position (red visible) and none of my notifications were sounding. So I flipped it up and down a couple times which didn't solve the problem. So logically, I proceeded to what inevitably solved the problem...
Go to Settings > General / "Use Side Switch To" and select the opposite of what you are currently using. I had mine on Lock Rotation, so I selected Mute. Then flip your switch up and down slowly a couple of times to see that the confirmation on the screen is correct.  You may have to go back to settings again and select the other choice if you originally had Mute selected, I don't know because I originally had Lock Rotation in use.
Hopefully, this will fix your notification sounds (and the lock sound when you press the power button).  After using this fix, you can set the use of the side switch to your preference and still have all of your notification sounds!

  • Spectre x360 keyboard issue after recent bios update

Hi Folks,    I have a spectre X360 and I am really happy with it.  Great product.  I recently updated the bios and it was really nice to be rid of the glowing keyboard light LED. There is an issue that has popped up though which is incredibly frustrating, like incredibly annoying, and I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this.  The keyboard response to typing a double letter (such as the t in letter) has gone down.  In other words my typing speed is now limited because the keyboard isn't as sensitive as it was prior to the bios update.  Does anyone know of a setting somewhere where I can increase the sensitivity of the keyboard so I'm not constantly going back to correct a missing double letter?  Please! argh it sucks so bad.  It has ruined my experience with this machine.  -Sam

    Hello  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Spectre x360 and TouchPad sensitivities not working correctly. Here is a document on how to troubleshoot the Touchpad sensitivities.
If you will go to the section on Adjusting TouchPad pointing sensitivities it should help resolve the issue. It also shows you how to restore the default setting that could help as well.
    Hope this fixes your issue.
    Thanks.

hi, a few days ago my hp laptop did an automatic update of W8 and since then I have no audio sound. It did come back a few times, but it's gone again. I have done all the troubleshooting I could, not muted etc, volume controls up etc and the system actually says that there's no fault. But the sound is simply not there. I've only had this pc a few months and I'm not happy! Do I need to download a driver or something? Please help, I need my sound!

  • Keyboard issue after ios 7 update

I'm having an issue with the onscreen keyboard after upgrading to ios 7 and with 7.0.2.  At my office we have wifi which when you log in it brings you to a separate login screen.  When I go to enter the user name and password the screen zooms in and the keyboard disappears.  I inadvertently found a fix - I have to undock the keyboard but it has to be done before I go into the login screen.  For some reason when the keyboard is docked, it vanishes.  I have an iPad 3.  A co-worker of mine has the same issue and she has the iPad2.
    Any suggestions?

    Hey my3sons23,
    First, try resetting the device:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
via: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
And if that doesn't resolve the issue then I would backup the device to iTunes and restore it. Just be cautious and back up first, since restoring deletes all content and settings:

  • X-FI Lost all Sound after latest driver update, install orginal cd still no so

My sound was working with minor sound problems in Frontlines and Crysis. I installed your new drivers and I lost all my sound. Going to playback mode the system shows it getting sound, its just not coming out of my speakers. I've uninstalled your drivers and and tried going back to the ones that came with the sound card. It worked for about 5 mins and then everything stoped again. Installing and reinstalling isn't doing a thing and I'm out of ideas and have spent 5 hours searching for a fix.
Yes everything is upto date on my computer, all drivers etc, yes my speakers are connected and turned on. I've disabled the onboard sound to avoid a conflict. I've disabled the option for apps to control the sound. Nothing is overclocked
I dont know why in the hell I bought a pc with vista, but this is where I stand now.
    Please help.
    System specs:
    Asus P5E3 Deluxe?
    Qx 9650
    4 Gig of DDR 3 Crosair XMS3
X-FI? Xtreme Gamer Fatalty Pro 24 bit

Look in control panel, in audio settings, advanced and into volumes of separate speakers.
btw those new drivers 2.5 are one big missundestanding, delete them quickly and wait till creative will fix that trash.
