No keys work and can't shut computer off

My computer just quit functioning properly tonight. The battery is charged, the screen lights up appropriately, and the mouse moves (but when I click, nothing happens It is stuck on "Mail" at the top of the screen but I can't quit by any of the usual ways. I can't even turn off the computer with the power button or by any other way. I inserted the Install Disk that came with the computer, hoping I could restart with. However, I hear it spinning but the icon doesn't show on the screen. (Computer is about 6 months old.)

Press and hold the power button for about 5-7 seconds, this should turn the machine off, if not remove the power lead and battery to power it down.
Re-insert the battery and power lead then perform a Parameter RAM reset on the restart i.e. press the Power button then immediately hold down the apple/option/p/r keys and wait for three chimes before releasing them.

I was actually just solving the problem when I got your reply. Because I couldn't unlock my phone I couldn't use the tapping. I found that by connecting my iPhone to iTunes through my computer I could access the accessibility control on my phone where I shut off the zoom feature. Thanks for your help.

TS2634 My Ipod is all of a sudden using voice control and it seems stuck. I entered the password to use it, but it took me over tapping it to respond. I can't seem to make anything really work and can't get it off voice control.

iPhoto works best when the source (Pictures folder) is on a different disk drive than the iPhoto Library is on.
And you need to have enough free disk space to work with, the faster the better.
Also, do not keep your media folders and those in your home folder on the same drive as the system, also another bottleneck.
Until or unless you have everything on 1400MB/sec SSD PCIe controller, you want
System boot drive
Media and data folders and such
scratch
backup
etc
I put iPhoto on an SSD off an SSD PCIe Sonnet Tempo card
If you stop- it, you will need to trash the Library it was creating.
Reading and writing to/from the same hard drive will be slow.
You don't mention which Mac, or how large you are trying to import etc

Take a look in Activity Monitor. See what the % being used for iPhoto, how many pageouts, how much free space on the various disk drives, and how much RAM do you have installed?

Do you have iTunes match? You need a computer to manage an iTunes match library.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. My Itune match doesn't work. When it tries to update, it stalls on step 3. If I don't cancel it, I get a window saying "Itunes has stopped working" and the program shuts down. How can I fix this???

When my Itunes Match tries to update, it stalls every time on the third step "Uploading remaining songs and artwork". If I don't cancel it, very shortly I get a message saying "Itunes has stopped working" and then Itunes shuts down completely. Is there a fix for this? I have the most recent version of Itunes. HELP!

Reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Judging by the number of successful password hack attempts on internet accounts of all types, clearly password security alone is not enough to verify you are the account holder to a dumb computer.
I'm sure you'd be complaining even more about "stupid iPad" if it allowed anyone who obtained your password easy access without any kind of backup security checks, and spend money on your iTunes / App Store account.
Apple are actively increasing the security of people's valuable iTunes accounts, not decreasing it. Why would you want to make it easier for someone to steal from you and take over your online accounts?

Did you try rebooting the iPad? You will need to have some battery power for this.
