No left frame margin in Search results pane
In our WebHelp output (slightly customized default skin) when
search results are returned, the titles are smack against the left
frame border and I need to get some few pixels or
indentation/margin there. Is there a file that controls
this?

User-defined variables in Search Results pane
I am working with user-defined variables for WebHelp output.
I have successfully added the variables to the topic, the displayed
topic title, the TOC, and the Index entries. The problems lies in
getting the search output to display the specified variable text.
For example, the base topic title is "Introduction to XX". I
use a variable to change the XX to YY throughout the project;
however, when I generate the output and then Search for YY, the
search results pane displays "Introduction to XX" even though the
displayed topic is titled, correctly, "Introduction to YY". I am
assuming, because the topic title is not adhering to the variables,
that the search results displays the metadata <title>.
What should I do so the search results title syncs with the
other data?
CarolWelcome to the forum.
There have been two posts about this recently so do a search
for more information.
Basically the search results show the Topic Title as defined
in Topic Properties. Your variable is in the Topic Heading at the
top of the page. Not the same thing.
I suggest you request a feature change.

when searching for a particular whatever, the results to the right include a preview of each email. I sorely need a view as in a normal folder, IE, a list of subject/sender/data/data/location with a normal preview of the selected file below. Is this possible?
Please say yes & thank you in advance!

"Not initially, but click the show as list in the middle of the top of the preview list to get what you want."
Ok, that would be the "open email as list" text (which does _not_ show as a button) on the top line of the results page. Cool. Clicking, it opened a new tab with the results. I then needed to right click on on the columns shown (sender/date etc) to add 'location' which added the containing folder to the items shown.
Hope that clarifies for you too, Gnospen. - FWIW, I'm using version 24.3.0
Thanks, Matt.
If I can figure out how, I'll mark this one solved.

Clicking Google search results in a frame gives blank screen
The back story to this is that i use Firefox and I use a simple frames home page where my fave links(ebay,craigslist links mainly) are on the left frame of the screen and google opens up on the right frame. When I do a search with google it does what it does and gives me its search results. Normally when i click on one of the Google results the frame on the left stays and the right side goes to the link i clicked on. Not today though. All I get is a blank screen and Done in the status bar. The left frame is still there. This occurs on 2 computers. IE does not have a problem. Is it Google? Firefox? Or a combo of both?
Here's the code for my main frames page. I dont need to include the 2nd one.

Hello my fellow Americans,
I am creating a WebHelp product, and I would like to be able

Any ideas on how to do this?

CRM2007 - All search result lists squished on left of screen
We have just gone live with CRM 2007 Support Pack 4, Now we have implemented Support pack 5 & 6 into our development system and any search we do, the result list is squished on the left side of the screen for some of our users?
Could this be due to Java levels? We have checked the systems and all systems have the same Java but on one computer the search result list is squished on left side of screen and on another machine it is fine.
Can anyone help with this.
Thanks
Judy Hildebrandt
Petro CanadaWe were able to resolve this issue. We ran transaction SMICM, and invalidated the HTTP server Cache.
Clicked Go to -> HTTP Server Cache -> Invalidat -> Only in Local and Global in System.
This cleared the issue and then in the individual machine we cleared the browser cache and the issued of the results lists being compressed was resolved -
Robohelp 10 Multi Screen Desktop output Search Results not coming up in IE8
Hi,
1)
We are using Mutli Screen Desktop layout in Robohelp 10 project. While I understand that the output is not fully compatible with IE8, but in this case I am facing a show stopper issue that search results do not come up. They are coming fine in IE 9, 10 and other browsers. I also tried enabling the Active X/Java script settings in browser but it did not help. Can you please help?
2)
Also, when the Mutli Screen Desktop help page is called from external HTML with the below syntax
<a href="Multiscreen_HTML5\index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=1&rhmapno=21">
the help page opens up in a small window with TOC left pane collapsed. We can then maximize it ofcourse. But we require opening it in full window mode with TOC left pane shown by default to user.
Is there a solution to open it in max window size with left pane enabled?
Will appreciate your insight and help on above questions. thanks in advance.For search results, first open the console by pressing F12. Then open the help and try searching. What errors warnings do you receive? Depending on the error, this may be fixable or not.
As for the CSH call, this is two problems:
1. For maximized view, create a window in RoboHelp and add the window call in call of the help. (see wvanweelden.eu/articles/context-sensitivity-multiscreen-html5 for details on the call.)
2. For showing the sidebar, you must edit the 'show in CSH' property in the Layout editor. Select the widget and open the properties. Then make sure to change the CSH property and generate your output anew. If you like, I can whip up some images of this procedure later this week. Let me know if you would like a step by step guide.

How do I change color of hyperlink search results in WebHelp Pro?
I'm trying to figure out how to change the color of search result hyperlinks when using WebHelp Pro in RH8. The links currently are vibrant blue and purple after clicked on. I can't find anywhere in the style sheet or in the skin editor options to define this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In your .css file, use something like the following; the "A:" would be your default link, and the "A.topic:" would be a different class of link (we use it for some in-topic navigation links). Note that the order in which the qualifiers appear is important. Follow the LoVeHate method (Link, Visited, Hover).
Feel free to try it and use your own combinations (you might not want the expanded letter-spacing, for example). We also reversed the underline format from the default html (none for link and visited, underline for hover).
A:link,
A:visited {
color: #0000CD;
letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
text-decoration: none;
A:hover {
color: #000080;
letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
text-decoration: underline;
You would add the class=topic qualifier to your links for this class of link (a class=topic href="targettopic.htm")
A.topic:link,
A.topic:visited {
color: #0000CD;
font-size: 8pt;
font-weight: normal;
margin-left: 10px;
margin-top: 0pt;
margin-bottom: 0pt;
letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
text-decoration: none;
A.topic:hover {
color: #000080;
font-size: 8pt;
font-weight: normal;
letter-spacing: 0.25pt;
margin-top: 0pt;
margin-bottom: 0pt;
margin-left: 10px;
text-decoration: underline;
Good luck,

Show the custom popup window on clicking the people name in sharepoint people search result
Show the custom popup window on clicking the people name in sharepoint people search result
We are doing the below code to open a popup but while clicking on name link its postback the page and not opening the popup in first click but opening in second click.The same issue occurs while navigate to second page using pagination
The below code used to show name in item template
<button id="NameFieldLink" class="temp" style="font-size: 12px;text-decoration:none;color:#0072c6;border:0px solid #fff;background:transparent;margin-left: 1px;height: 15px;padding: 0 10px 17px 0px;text-align: left;cursor:pointer;font-family:
Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;" title="">_#= DisName =#_</button>
The below jquery code used to open popup in control search template
ctx.OnPostRender = [];
ctx.OnPostRender.push(function () {
$(".temp").on("click", function(event)
event.preventDefault();
$('#fadeout').show();
$('#pop1').find('.tab-content-people').html($(this).closest('.emp-card').find('.pop-content').html());
$('#pop1').show();
return false;I believe the issue is that you are not actually searching against the result source you made in step #1.
It's not enough to make a result source, you have to tell the search results web part to use it.
Try this:
1. Go to the Pages library of Search Center
2. Create a new Search Results page
3. Edit the page, then edit the search results web part
4. Change the source for the search results web part to your source
5. Add the page to your Search Center navigation
6. Run the search on that page

Show Quick Launch (Side Navigation) in Search Results page
Hi,
I created a custom search results page in a site (under Pages library). In this page the Quick Launck (side navigation) is hidden. Any solution to display it?
keren tsurYou can try this:
1. Edit page
2. Create a custom text file and insert the following CSS, which will make the Quick Launch menu visible:
<style type="text/css">
#s4-leftpanel {
display:inherit!important;
width:155px!important;
.s4-ca {
margin-left:155px!important;
</style>
Save the file, naming it showQuickLaunch.txt. Store the text file in the Style Library or on the server.
3. Insert a Content Editor Web Part on the page in which you want to hide the Quick Launch menu. Edit the Web Part, entering the link to the showQuickLaunch.txt file.

Incomplete Finder search results in Mavericks
Hi guys. It appears search results in Finder in Mavericks are incomplete.
I am used to delete preference files left behind after I trash an app -like .plist files located in home folder/library/preferences -they are showed no more in search results. Obviously finder search criteria are customized to show system and hidden files.
It looks like a bug. Can you reproduce same issue?Back up all data.
In Contacts, select
File ▹ Export ▹ Contacts Archive
from the menu bar, and save the archive to your Desktop.
If you use iCloud, disable contact synchronization in the iCloud preference pane. When prompted, click Delete From Mac. Re-enable synchronization. Wait for the contacts to re-synchronize, then test.
If you don't use iCloud, or if the contacts fail to synchronize, delete all contacts, then select
File ▹ Import…
and import the archive you created. It may take a few seconds for the contacts to be indexed. Test.
If you don't like the results of this procedure, quit the application. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, copy the text on the line below into the box that opens, and press return:
~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
Restore the folder that opens from the backup you made before you started. -
Google search result causing spry error on webpage
I have a webpage with some dynamically generated spry elements. The webpage seems to work as is should and generates no errors. However, when the page is accessed through a Google search the page generates the following error...
Caught exception in Spry.Data.Region.prototype.evaluateExpression() while evaluating: {ds_RowID} == {ds_CurrentRowID} Exception:SyntaxError: invalid object initializer
This error is being caused by Google generating malformed URL in its search results; like the following...
mywebpage.php?row={ds_RowID}
I suspect that this error is being caused because the link is being generated by JavaScript which Google is having difficulty interrupting. Is there a way that I can fix this and make Google interpret the link correctly?
ThanksOK I think that I have found the problem. On the first page of my website I have the following Spry element.
<div spry:state="ready">
<h4 spry:repeat="dsNews"><a href="mywebpage.php?row={ds_RowID}">{Caption}</a></h4>
<p spry:repeat="dsNews">{Front_Page} <a href="mywebpage_2.php?row={ds_RowID}">read more ></a></p>
</div>
This is where Google must be picking up the link. My question now is how do I properly link the elements on my first page to correct Spry data elements the supporting page, so that the page keeps functioning like is now does.
Thanks again for your help.
Example of first page of website that links to the supporting page.

Cannot play tracks from Showing Results pane
Version: 1.0.9.133.gcedaee38 Current Behavior:1) Type in any text (ex: "Luke Bryan") in the search field in the top left pane.2) Press Enter. The Showing Results pane appears.3) Click on any track in the pane in the middle of the screen. Nothing happens and the same song continues to play. Expected Behavior:The track that was clicked on should play. You CAN queue music to play from that list, but I would expect that clicking on any song in the list would play that song immediately. Please advise.
If so, why wouldn't they publish an update to the player? I mean the one "Please restart Spotify to install the new version"? Going to try and reinstall, hopefully it fixes both this and the ugly new color they have chosen.. Well, hopefully a reinstall solves one of those ;) haha Confirmed!This did the trick! I also discovered - THANK YOU SPOTIFY!! - the option to minimize to taskbar instead of closing when clicking on the X button :D AWESOME! If only the color was different on the icon :'( But at least the music plays :D

Inconsistent Webhelp Search Results
Hello,
I have a webhelp generated from Robohelp 10, where I've been running into issues with the search results.
I ran a search for "predicate" (without the quotation marks) via the search pane on the left, and got only 1 result. I noticed that "predicat" instead of "predicate" was highlighted in the search result pages. I ran another search for "predicates" (without the quotation marks) and got 6 results. This time "predicate" was highlighted instead in the search result pages.
I assume that Robohelp dropped the "s" to encompass both singular and plural version of a search term, but I don't know why:
Robohelp drops the "e" in a search term"
Robohelp did not return the additional 5 results for "predicate"
I checked the search options in the Webhelp Single Source Layout but didn't see any options that would affect the issue above. How do I get it so that my search results are consistent at the very least e..g, "predicates" and "predicate" will return the same number of results?The fact that the "e" is not highlighted is a known bug. Please report it again as the more people who do etc.
Please follow this link.
http://www.Adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=38
It's not clear from your post how many instances of predicate and predicates should be found.
