  • SAP Treasury - Link a Purchase and Sale of an OTC transaction

    Hello All
We have implemented SAP OTC transactions (51A, 52A, 53A and 55A). We did not have the requirement to sell them when they were set up. However we got the requirement recently. We need to link the purchase and sale of a transaction and record the realized gain and loss. I dont see a way to link OTC transactions and there by post the realized gain and loss.
    Example:
If we buy a commercial paper (53A) on Jan 1 2014 maturing Oct 31, 2014 for a nominal amount of 10,000 at 98% payment rate, which will generate a payment flow of 9,800 on Jan 1 2014.
Now if we decide to come out of it (sell) on June 30, if the rates went down and we only get 9,000 of the nominal amount for the sale.
How can we have the system link these 2 to determine that we incurred a realized loss in this case?
Hove anyone had this situation before? Any help on this topic with be much appeciated and points will be rewarded.
    Thanks in advance!!
    Shilpa

Try TBR6 to link; may be reference category "REF"; then, from each transaction, you can go to Environment-Object links and see the linked transaction.
However, I don't know off hand, if it will let you do realized gain/loss on a net basis; in that case may be Securities module would be the solution.

  • Transaction and Authorization

    Hi Gurus,
With transaction SU24 I am able to view the objects associated with a specififc Transaction code and also the details of the objects. However when I assign the same transaction code to a Role I am not able to Control/ VIew all the objects as I got to view from SU24.Can anyone please explain me the reason for this.

    Hello Parvez,
Run Su24 for the concerned transaction and go to authorization object screen. Look for the column: Check Indicator. Only if the value is maintained as check/maintain against a particular authorization object will it come automatically in a role to which the concerned transaction is assigned. It won't work if indicator is set to check.

    Hi Sangeeta,
As per your statement, my understanding is that the Organization Attributes are not maintained in the Customization. If all the values are properly maintained then based on the Organization Data determination, the system would have picked up the data. You can first check the Organization Structure and see all the attributes are properly maintained or not and then check whether the Object Permitted in determination checkbox is checked. Then create a Transaction and see that all the Organization data are getting filled properly.
Have a look at the following link for a complete guide to the Organization data determination customization.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm70/helpdata/en/6d/5c1738453fde16e10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
If the Organization data customization is not meeting your requirements then you can have a second look at the development approach. Then we can have a look at the available Objects to get the desired functionality.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Distributed Transactions and Linked Servers

I'm somewhat of a novice with SQL Server but I'm learning rapidly from an application I'm developing that uses SQL Server very heavily. In conjunction with the development of this application, I have 3-4 systems set up running SQL Server and I am using those
systems to develop the database that will ultimately support the application. I decided to try to use linked servers because I am moving data back-and-forth among the different servers frequently and I ran into some consequences that I wasn't expecting.
I was doing a simple delete query on one of the servers (Delete from TableName Where ...) and I was expecting, of course, that it would only impact the server I was running it on; however, when the query finished after running for a long time, it was apparent
that SQL Server had automatically escalated that simple delete query into a distributed transaction and applied it to all four of the linked servers I had defined.  I was totally surprised by that and it took some time to recover the data that was inadvertently
    lost on the other servers.
I want to ensure that this doesn't happen again without me expecting it - I think the right way to prevent this from happening is to run the following stored procedure:
    EXEC sp_serveroption 'servername', 'remote proc transaction promotion', 'false';
Can someone please verify that this assumption is correct and will prevent SQL Server from automatically creating distributed transactions impacting multiple servers?
    Thanks,
    Chuck

    Hello,
Based on your description, it seems that when you connect to a SQL Server database and execute a DELETE statement to delete a recode on a table, and then the same recode were delete in the linked server which has the same table.
As pre my understand, the statement executed on one server will not  apply to the linked servers unless you specify the logic yourself in the application. For example, you use dynamic query and exec the query synchronously on  linked servers.
What's more, did you specify replication between this linked server?
If I have any misunderstanding, please let me know.

  • Link between GTM and FSCM (sales or purchase order hedging)

    Hi all,
I am trying for a few days to have SAP GTM working (I am in an IDES ECC6 system, and as far as I know in EhP4 version). The main goal in fact is to test the currency hedging, and therefore to the link GTM and FSCM, either single-sided purchase or sales order, or two-sided . The flow I want is the following :
    -     I buy or sell a product, in GTM, through a trading contract which generates a purchase or sales order.
    -     Automatically a currency hedge is generated to cover the risk, in FSCM, I guess in exposure management.
    -     And then the financial products (derivatives) are generated as well.
No problem to create the trading contract, no problem to generate the sales or purchase order. But in spite of the (very little) customizing I found in u201CSAP GTM => currency hedgesu201D, and some in FSCM, in u201Ctreasury and risk managementu201D, no way to have this link between GTM and FSCM, no additional document is generated like a Forward Exchange Transaction (I guess I should have this, and then a risk exposure in FSCM).
Would you have an idea ? Is this customizing, or an additional Business Functions or Extension Set not activated ? SAP says : u201Cit worksu201D, but canu2019t find the way.
Thank you very much for your help, I am quite looking for this link for a few days now u2026
    Best regards
    Patrick

    Yes Mr Ashish!
As far as iam concern there is no link between Project & Customer Master, you have to link it with SALES order, I had check in XD03,XD01, the complete customer master, i didnt find any field in customer master which links with Project.
I'll let you know if i find any links.

  • Differrence between BPCA and Change Impact Testing in HP Quality Center?

    Hi All,
Can some one help us with the differences between change impact analyser in SAP TAO and change impact testing in
    HP quality center.
Please share some process documents regarding the same.
    Regards,
    Ujwal Kandimalla

    Hi Ujwal,
The Business Process Change Analyser in Solution Manager compares a technical BOM (TBOM) that is maintained within a solution, or project, against a transport order that is maintained within a managed system.  The TBOM is a listing of all technical objects, for example tables, programs etc, that are used by the managed system. BPCA checks the contents of the transport order against the TBOM. BPCA then highlights the objects in the TBOM that will be impacted when you import the transport order into production.  From the BPCA you can directly create a Test Plan and select the test cases that will test the objects that will change.
SAP TAO inspects transactions to determine the technical information required to generate an automated test.  TAO then creates scripting for HP Quick Test Pro test cases and can create business components in HP Quality Center that can be used to compose business process tests.
HP Change Impact Testing allows you to import changes from the SAP correction and transport system, analyse and identify the impact of changes, assess their risk and recommend which business processes to test.
There are some good presentations about BPCA and TAO and this one could give you the back ground info to the SAP solution: https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000988132011E

  • Transactions and database locks

    Hi,
We use Weblogic 4.5.1 on Windows NT 4.0 with Oracle 8.0.5. Our database
isolation is set to TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED. I have an entity bean with
              TX_REQUIRED & TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED settings. If my client creates a
transaction, and starts calling methods on this entity bean, is the
corresponding database row locked for the duration of the transaction? We
have concurrent SQl-plus sessions going on and we want make sure there is
no data corruption. If the row is not locked, is it ok for me to explicitly
lock it from inside my entity bean?
              Thanks,
              Srini.

Hi. This should have been posted to the EJB or JDBC group, but I'll take it.
This is an Oracle question. If you have a transaction as you've described,
then the behavior will be exactly as if you had multiple SQL-PLUS sessions,
and in one of them, you did:
              SQL> BEGIN;
              -- do what your bean would do;
              SQL> COMMIT;
You can test this there. In general, you'll find that Oracle's optimistic locking
will allow any number of simutaneous transactions to access a given row
at one time. Oracle does not lock the real data while a transaction is ongoing,
instead making a copy for the client to work off of. At commit time, depending
on the isolation level semantics, some or all of the transactions may fail when
Oracle tries to update the real data from the per-session private data.
I would council against running with SERIALIZABLE mode because there
is a serious bug in Oracle, where serializable transactions may fail silently.
              Details on request.

  • Different Baseline Date in Invoice Transaction and Payment Transaction

    Hi All,
I have one issue. When I post the invoice transaction in FB60 and input the baseline date 22.08.2011. Then I post the outgoing payment with document date 20.08.2011 and then I checked the baseline date in vendor line item, the baseline date not in 22.08.2011 but it is defaulted into 20.08.2011 (document date when perform outgoing payment). Why the system cannot link the baseline date in invoice transaction and document payment? It makes unconsistency in baseline date. Kindly need your help to share if you ever found the same issue like this and also the SAP Notes if you have it.

Many if not all of the WLS EJB examples use container-managed
transactions. That's a good place to start.
I'd also recommend that you pick up a decent EJB book. There's several
              on the market right now.

  • Link between iTunes and Library lost. Hard drive failure

    Hi!
I need help with the following problem. (i7 27" iMac/256GB SSD + 1TB of internal disk hard drive. (SATA/7200rpm/3.5"))
The 1TB internal hard drive on my iMac failed the S.M.A.R.T. Utilities test so Apple called in the computer and I had to have the hard drive replaced. The technicians reloaded the system from a 1TB external Western Digital hard drive; I had backed up the everything on it using Time Machine.
Unfortunately, the iTunes application cannot now locate my iTunes library. I create a lot of slideshows on Aperture and use music from iTunes on the audio tracks. The titles on the audio tracks are now inaudible and are preceded by a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside. Can anyone help me on how I should re-establish the original link between iTunes and its library. The music files are located in folders (name of artists), within a folder (iTunes Music), within a folder (iTunes), within a folder (Music), within a folder (declangreaney) on the 1TB of internal disk drive.
In trying to solve the problem, I went through the folders and double clicked on one song. This opened iTunes so I highlighted and dragged all the other 'artist-named' folders on the iTunes interface and in doing so, I succeeded in accessing all the files. This is not wholly satisfactory, however, as I do not have my own playlists and more seriously, there is still no link between the Aperture audio tracks.
      Sincerely,
         DG.

        Hi again!
I saved the last message by accident which caused the reply to be sent off and so I had not finished what I wanted to write. Aploogies.
I didn't find the new iMac hybrid SSD/Disk system easy to understand when it arrived over a year ago. I eventually decided that the 256 SSD section would be best suited to having the Operatin System for greater speed and I must have decided to put the music files on the 1TB internal hard drive along with photos and raw video clips. I can't honestly remember. There was a lot to take in. I wasn't even aware until this failure that iTunes had a default location.
In addition to having the iTunes folder on the internal 1TB hard drive, I used Time Machine to store the entire computer contents on a 1TB Western Digital external hard drive. I had done my last Time Machine back-up on the 13 February and so I was hoping that by opening one or two songs on the back-up, they might reactivate the 'old' interface with the original playlists on it. That didn't happen but I then realised, while I was still in the Tme Machine back-ups on the WD external hard drive, that in the iTunes Media folder contained within the iTunes folder on the default Users/Username/Music location there was only an Add automatically to iTunes folder which was empty. While still still looking through the Time Machine back-upsI saw that the music instead was stored on the 1TB of internal hard drive as outlined on the first post:
'The music files are located in folders (name of artists), within a folder (iTunes Music), within a folder (iTunes), within a folder (Music), within a folder (username) on the 1TB of internal disk drive.'
The iTunes.itl file was last modified on Monday at 21:52. Created on 17th February, 2012. Size 386KB

         DG.

  • Why there is no account entry in GL account which link to VBR and GBB.

    Hi,
I am trying to understand about transaction event key GBB. As per my knowledge, GBB is offsetting entry for Inventry BSX. There are many general modifier VBR, AUF, BSA etc under under GBB.
GL account '400082' has been assign to VBR for the material valution class ZVL1 and valution grouping code 0001.
I have issued material with movement type 201 for consumption (Cost Center) from stock. Hence there should be some account entry to GL account 400082 which link to VBR under GBB. I can see the accounting entry in inventry account and consumption accountm, but I can not see any entry in GL account that link to VBR. I am checking accounting entry in transaction code - FBL3N.
Please let me know why there is no entry to GL account that link to VBR and GBB. Appreciate if you can give some input about GBB concept with example.

    Hi,
General modification key (Account modifier ) VBR is used for  for 201 movement type where goods issue to cost center. You can also cross check in OME9 t.code where VBR Acct modification is assigned with cost object K.After posting goods issue with 201 movement type, you can cross check the accounting  document ( by proper setting layout) where you can find
    Account description...............................Transaction
    Inventory A/C: ..................Cr.................BSX
    Consumption A/C: ..............Dr................GBB
NOTE: In t.code:FBL3N, you will get document type of accounting document(WE,RE,ML,KZ,KE,UP etc) in main screen, but you can view  all details by clicking document number and in next screen press F9 button.( by proper setting layout)
