"No local string for datasource.wrongclient"

Hi All!
Getting this message, followed by SQLException, while in the client app I'm trying to obtain a connection via DataSource.
SQLException has no code, status or msg ( 0, null and ""
respectively).
Environment:
J2EE RI v 1.3 with Cloudscape ( standard shipping).
Database ( CloudscapeDB) exists and accessible
from within the EJB no problem.
This is far from being a bug, so it cannot be reported to
Sun, but I hope you can provide a lead/hint/tip that
is going to be highly appreciated.
If supplied info is not sufficient, please, let me know and
I'll try to get you more.
Best regards,
AR

I've just got this problem as well - did you ever find a solution for it?
thanks,
Ailise

  • Is there a way to find out the localized labels for contact item properties?

    Hi,
    an Outlook ContactItem has a lot of properties (e.g. BusinessTelephoneNumber). I want to design a custom ribbon menu containing all business telephone numbers. And the labels of these menu items should display the localized field description (e.g. "Business
    Telephone Number"). But I did not found any mapping of Contactitem property name and label being shown in die Outlook's user interface. Sure, I can code my own mapping but I would like to know whether there is a possibility to get a localized string for
    labeling my own menu items.
    Anything like ContactItem.ItemProperty(INDEX).GetLocalizedLabel() would be fine.
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards
    Mõbius

    You can also create collection for reboot pending machines based on its lastenforcementmessageID.

  • 5.0 won't work - extensions message is "localized string not found".  When I force it to try to load a new window it shows a gray screen with the bookmarks on top then immediately closes and wants to report the error. Has been this way since 5.0 came out.

    I first tried downloading Safari when the 5.0 update came out last year.  When I choose the app in the dock, I get the blue top bar (Safari, File, etc) but nothing else loads.  I uninstalled the app and tried again several times, but no success. For over a year now I've used Firefox as a result.  Today I thought I'd try again, but same results.  When I choose "new window" in the file menu, I get a small gray window with my bookmarks on top, then in a few seconds, the app quits unexpectedly and the report an error screen appears.  I've unchecked all the languages in the information area for the app, cleared all history, cookies, and cache.  Still the extensions tab in the preferences area has "LOCALIZED STRING NOT FOUND" in 4 places.  It won't show what that means when I click the "?".  Will I ever be able to use Safari again?

    Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:
    * [[Firefox is already running but is not responding]]
    -> Profile in use

    Check and tell if its working.

  • Report Designer odbc connection string for data source using a parameter

    I am using stand alone report designer 3 for the present and have a question/problem regarding the odbc connection string for MySQL when setting up the data-source
    I need to be able to enter a parameter which is the database name i.e. BOE-201401 or say BOE-201312 etc  from a list of databases the user can choose from.
    at present the odbc connection string points to BOE-201402
    the connection string is at present  Dsn=Development Server for MYsql;description=MYSQL;server=ldndw01;database=BOE-201402;port=3306
    my parameter has the name BOE_DATABASE
    and in an expression it is  as such
    =Parameters!BOE_DATABASE.Value
    I want to point the datasource for the report to the parameter value before the user sees the report.

    Hi Leslie,
    Based on your description, we want to design a report with a dynamic DataSource connection string. There are the basic steps below for your reference:
    Create report with static database.
    Change data source to report parameter.
    Send new database connection string as a report parameter.
    More detail information, please refer to the following blog: Dynamic Database in SSRS 2008.

  • Localized string not found & menu will not display in Vista

    I have had an issue since late version 3 on my Vista Home Premium PC, when I installed a new copy and started seeing no menu, and the bookmarks and right-clicks respond with "Localized string not found..."
    I have tried the cleanup in a previous message in this forum - to delete the safari folders c:\users\xxx\appdata\Local\ - once I reinstall the current version, I have the same issue. I see the previous query was closed, or I would have replied to that.
    I am testing software for a web-based application, and we support Safari, so this is pretty important that we solve this - though I would be happy as a clam to drop support for Safari on the PC - that likely isn't going to happen. I have had no such issues on my G4 running OSX 10.4.

    Thanks!
    Okay ... I suspect that one of the en.lproj folders (English language resource files) for your Safari or your Apple Application Support has been blown up. So we'll try swapping out both your Safari and your Apple Application Support, taking a few other explicit precautions along the way, just in case. Best to print out a copy of these instructions, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    First download and save a copy of the SafariSetup.exe (installer file) from the Apple Website. Don't run the install online and don't start the install from the SafariSetup.exe just yet.
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
    Quit iTunes and/or QuickTime if you have them installed and running. (They both use Apple Application Support and can interefere with the Apple Application Support uninstall if you have them running.
    Now head into your "Uninstall a program" control panel. Uninstall safari. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
    (If you get any error messages during the uninstalls, halt proceedings and post back to let us know what they say. Precise text, please.)
    Next, we'll clear away any leftover program folders and files.
    Go "Start > Computer".
    In "Computer", open "Local Disk C:" or whichever drive your program files are installed on.
    Open the "Program files" folder.
    Right-click on the "Safari" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Open the "Common Files" folder.
    Open the "Apple" folder.
    Right-click on the "Apple Application Support" folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    Empty your recycle bin and restart the PC. (If iTunes is installed on the PC, you'll probably receive a message at this stage saying that iTunes will not run because Apple Application Support is missing. Click through the message.)
    (If you get any error messages during the program files/folders deletions, halt proceedings and post back to let us know what they say. Precise text, please.)
    After the PC restarts, do not open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Now shut down all your security software (firewall, antivirus, antispyware).
    Now start the Safari reinstall by doubleclicking the SafariSetup.exe you downloaded earlier. (This should also reinstall Apple Application Support.)
    Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
    Did the reinstall go through okay? If so, do you have your Safari right-click contextual menus back again?

  • "Missing version string for product" error when trying to get updates on Lion Server

    I am not getting the latest updates from Apple on my 10.7.4 server.  When I attempt to do so the log has a bunch of errors stating "Missing version string for product".  I've tried deleting and recreating the swupd files but I am still having the same issue.  Is there any fixes to this problem I am missing? Thanks in advance!

    ok, I went back and made a new database but changed the character set / collation... aside from that change, everything is the same, but I get an error saying that the datasource could not be found when I can see all the tables in intermedia's phpmyadmin page... would changing the character set / collation cause this error?

  • Localized text for hour, minute, second, week, today, etc.

    You are able to get localized text for the weekday name, e.g. to get your localized name of "monday", use
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("EEEE");
    String name = sdf.format(gregorianCalendar.getTime())for month names, you would use the format String MMMM:
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("MMMM");Are there additional localized text available through some API? I'm looking for translations for "next", "previous", "day", "week", "month", "year", "hour", "minute", "second", "now", "today", "OK", "Cancel". (Of course, I could translate these myself and offer a MessageBundle, but if there are already translations down there through the API, why do work twice ;-)

  • The "Localized String not Found" thing..

    has cropped up on my system. I have searched the forum and have read the K Tilfords post on the subject. I was going to reply to that thread but it has been locked.
    Anyway, in that post it states:
    "Normally the problem is very specific, within the WebKit.framework. The System>Library>Frameworks>WebKit.framework>Versions>A>Resources folder should have the folder English.lproj, but it's probably missing. If the English.lproj folder is present, then the Localizable.strings file within it is missing."
    However, when I checked my system, the English.lproj folder is present. And, within English.lproj that Localizable.strings file is present as well.
    Yet, I have the "Localized String Not Found" issue.
    Thanks for reading. Help!

    No responses, so I'll update where things are.
    After reading more in the forums, I decided to trash Safari and reinstall. So, I got rid of all things Safari, repaired permissions and restarted. Inserted my Tiger Install CD to do a Custom Install for the Safari app only but I get hung up on "Select Destination", before even reaching Custom Install.
    It tells me since I have Tiger install, I need to modify my destination.
    Any help or ideas appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Adding Local Language For BW Reporting

    Hi Guru's,
    Currently I am working on BW 7, I got the customized data source from ECC6 with language translation in local language but there are yet to be any text, hierachies, master data or characters assigned to it yet in BW.
    I would like to add a local language for reporting purpose. So that the user would be able to view the reports in both english and the local langauge.
    Anyway by chance had a step by step document on how to do this? How to add the text and how to add the language to enable both eng and local language to be available for reporting?
    Cheers
    Tommy

    Hi,
    I hope you wont mind me asking for the steps on how to do this.
    The customized data source which i had obtained from the ecc6 is zskat. And the local language which are actually being maintained in the R/3 FI-GL. The following fields in zskat datasource are:
    KTOPL     Chart of Accounts
    MCOD1     Search Term for Matchcode Search
    SAKNR     G/L Account Number
    SPRAS     Language Key
    TXT20       G/L account short text
    TXT50       G/L Account Long Text
    If i am not wrong, SPRAS would be the key to the language right? I found that it is in the table T002, but again, how would i know which one would be the correct text?
    Since the language translation had been maintained in the source system, i guess i wont need to use the flat file option do i?
    Should I find the text data from the source system and load as you had advised? Should I do it through DTP and so on?
    Could you show me some steps by steps if possible? Simple one if possible.
    Cheers
    Tommy

  • Get-localized-string usuage

    Hi,
    I am trying to get this function to work in my bpel process. When I do as follows, it works fine :
    orcl:get-localized-string('file:/d:/','','MyResourceBundle','','','','MY_KEY')
    But I don't want my resource bundles to be present at D:, or want to give an absolute path to them. I want them to be bundles with the bpel suitcase. I have placed them there and tried a few combinations like below.
    orcl:get-localized-string('','.','MyResourceBundle','','','','MY_KEY')
    orcl:get-localized-string('.','','MyResourceBundle','','','','MY_KEY')
    orcl:get-localized-string('./','','MyResourceBundle','','','','MY_KEY')
    orcl:get-localized-string('','./','MyResourceBundle','','','','MY_KEY')
    What would be the correct way to invoke this function. The error which I think is irrelative but I give it below anyways :

    Edited by: user638005 on May 19, 2009 12:04 PM

    This is a last post to this to summarize the results of my experimentation. This is what I found.
    What works
    ========
    1. get-localized-string() works fine for absolute paths provided both as url or resource location. But construct should be as follows :
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('','file:/d:/','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('file:/d:/','','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('','file:/D:/ResourceBundle.zip','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('file:/D:/ResourceBundle.zip','','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>
    jars files donot work. Dont know why but thats how I found it to be. Also donot forget the "file:/" prefix. Things dont work without it, it seems.
    2. What also works is that you create a jar/zip file of your resource bundles and tell the Oracle App Server where to find it.
    2.1 This is done by editing your "server.xml" under your soa_home. Add a new entry for your jar/zip file under the shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common" section.
    2.2 After doing this and restarting the SOA suite, you just have to provide the name of the resource bundle i.e the 3rd param and everything works.
    2.3 There could be some performance impact here of which I have no idea (whereby the class loader searches all jar files in common location for the given resource bundle.)
    2.4 I personally used the second parameter to atleast provide the name of the jar file which has my resources. Don't know if that has any effect or not.
    2.5 Since the resources are looked up at run time and are not needed for bpel compilation by bpelc, there is no need of adding the resource bundle jar file to the bpelc classpath. E.g.
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('','ResourceBundle.jar','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>
    2.6 Here I found things work whether it is zip or jar file.
    3. Specifying a zip file from which a resource bundle should be taken out works when you provide the absolute path as follows: (same applies for url)
    What does not work
    =============
    1. the "." current directory construct does not seem to work. I.e you place the resource bundles in your bpel suitcase and think that the current directory will turn out to be the deploy location of the bpel suitcase. This assumption seems wrong.
    2. Both these forms donot work:
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('','D:/ResourceBundle.zip','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>
    <from expression="orcl:get-localized-string('','D:/ResourceBundle.jar','ResourceBundle','en','EN','','NO_OBJS')"/>

    I have just managed to fix this problem !
    My second Strings.plist file (FR) had an absolute path. The drop down menu for path type (absolute, relative) was greyed out in the info pane of xcode so I could not change it to a relative path.
    The solution is to change it manually in the project.pbxproj file:
    If you open the file to view the source, and search for "plist", find the following line:
    /* fr */ = {isa = PBXFileReference; lastKnownFileType = text.plist.strings; name = fr; path = /Users/[YOUR-USER]/[PATH_TO_PROJECT]/fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings; sourceTree = "<absolute>"; };
    Notice that the path attribute is the full path to the file, and that the sourceTree attribute is set to .
    Now change the path so that it's relative:
    /Users/[YOUR-USER]/[PATH_TO_PROJECT]/fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings
    should become
    fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings
    Also change the sourceTree value from <absolute> to <group>
    The line should now look like this:
    /* fr */ = {isa = PBXFileReference; lastKnownFileType = text.plist.strings; name = fr; path = fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings; sourceTree = "<group>"; };
    Repeat these steps for all your localizations that are stuck with absolute paths.
    Save the file, commit the changes, and voilà! no more no such file problem

  • How to fix Safari 5.1 Preferences and Extensions from displaying "localized string not found"

    I'm on a MacPro Dual Core, just recently upgraded to Lion but Since then Safari has been misbehaving.
    First of all when I go into Safari Preferences in the Privacy section all that it shows is "Localized string not found" this shows up in all the button options of that section.
    I also noticed the same problem, this time on the Preferences/Extensions secion when I installed the 1Password extension from Agile, which it's not working properly either, it actually displays the same "Localized string not found" copy in all of the items.
    I'm following up on this issue with Agile but what makes me think that it's a Safari problem is the fact that this is also happening on the Privacy area of the Preferences even though I unistalled the 1Password extension.
    Has anyone had similar issues, both with Lion's Safari 5.1 Preferences/Privacy or Extensions displaying "Localized string not found" or with 1Password not working properly?
    Thanks in advance.

    Try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
    Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file to the Desktop.
    Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
    ~ (Tilde) character represents your Home folder.
    For Lion: To see your Home library, hold down the Option key while selecting Go in the menu bar.
    If deleting the .plist file didn't help, go to ~/Library/Safari/Extensions.
    Move the Extensions.plist file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac. Try Safari.
    Also, you may need to check the 1Password site for updates for Lion / Safari 5.1 compatbility. Apple is not responsible for updating third party software.

  • JRE Uninstall string for v7 all the same - but do not work

    We have multiple Windows 7 machines running v7u1 thru v7u10.
    I found the uninstall string and was able to run MsiExec.exe /X{26A24AE4-039D-4CA4-87B4-2F83217010FF} on my own machine to remove the software successfully.
    In looking at u6,u7,u9 and u11 installations, I noticed the Uninstall Strings are exactly the same. But when ran on those machines, the system states "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed".
    However, I can remove the version from the Control Panel.
    So what are the correct uninstall strings for v7u1 thru v7u11?

    All of our users are local admins and tend to install whatever. This leads to a messy environment and we don't always know which version of Java is installed. So, to address that, I created a small script that scours 'HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall' for Java entries, reads the uninstall string then runs the reported uninstall string. The assumption here is that the uninstall string will be an MSI command. (All the machines & versions of Java used the same format.)
    This is a Windows 7 Enterprise (32-bit) environment, but the script also works on 64-bit installations of Windows 7 Enterprise.
    I've tested this with 7u11 and went as far back as 6u21. It should work with just about any version that uses MSI for uninstalling.
