Cross system object lock -how to build up lock entries for existing request
Hello,
we implemented ChaRM for some years and intend to activate cross system object lock (CSOL), now.
But there are a lot of existing transport requests, which have not been imported to productive system, yet.
It would be very helpful to create lock entries for objects, which are assigned to those transport requests.
Does anyone know any standard report for this purpose?
Thanks a lot for any hint.
Best regards
HorstIf anyone else needs that feature:
Report TMW_TRKORR_LOCK_UPDATE (executed in satellite system) will lock the objects of a transport request in solution manager system. -
Lock entries for FM - 'ALM_ME_READ_CATALOG_PROFILE'
Dear Friends
Whenever the following function modules are called it create lock entries in sm12. So it restricts transaction QS41 for edit Mode.
ALM_ME_READ_CATALOG_PROFILE
QM09_READ_CATALOG_PROFILE
I want these lock entires to be deleted automatically after it is called. I tried to remove lock entires using the following function module and it never worked.
Call function 'DEQUEUE_EQQPGR2'
exporting
mode_qpgr = 'X'
mandt = sy-mandt
katalogart = 'P'
codegruppe = 'PTRTY'
Kindly help me.
ThanksHi Meghana,
I am not sure about the FM. But the CRM table COMM_PCAT_ITM contains the relation between product catalog and the product. In this table the product guids are stored in the field 'OBJECT' and corresponding product catalog guids are in the field 'PARENT_CATALOG'
Hope this helps to debug further.

Lock entries for table SWWWIHEAD in SM12 Urgent
HI
From last few days, In SM12 there are lock entries coming for workitems of table SWWWIHEAD even though workitem is completed successfully. Time of lock entry shows it is time when approver started taking action on it.
Please let me know is there any impact of this on system and how it is happening and what we should do with these lock entries.
Appreciate your help.
Regards,
Shiv.Dear,
Actually we faced an issue related to this like the approver took action on it. after that the item got locked. the basis is telling there could be the RFC session from SAP Portal inbox which is not closed somehow. may be session is exited without properly logging out. in this case the item was still in his inbox and when the approver tries to open it, the error message says workitem is locked bye the same user id. The basis is telling the lock will be removed after the default stipulated time (in my case, its 8 Hrs ! ).
hope this helps.

Delete lock entry for an IDOC locked since 5 days ago.
Hello,
I received some Delivery and an IDOC numbers, I was asked to release the delivery with the VKM5 T-code, and the IDOC with the BD87, However one of them was locked by user TIDAL_SCHED.
Here's the Delivery Number:
86622718
The IDOC number:
0000001073053855
Here's the message I receive when I try to release the delivery:
86622718 CSL: VPRCLNT810:SALES_DOCUMENT:0150000010 is locked by TIDAL_SCHED (VPRCLNT810-01) (lock time: 20150430141129 , reference counter: 1 )
How can I locate this exact lock entry? Is there an specific table I should look for besides the user name? So far I have obtained the following information:
Sales Order: 3000011472
Return: 0150000010
Delivery: 0086622718
As you can see the look time is April 30th 2015; whenever I look into everything TIDAL_SCHED I don't get anything referencing the Delivery and/or Sales doc or april 30th:

2For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
Thanks for listening,
Melissa -
Hi Experts,
Please help in finding which SAP Standard table can we find the lock entries(SM12 transaction).
Thanks!Prerequisites
You have generated the demo data for the SQL Tutorial.
Log on to the database instance DEMODB as user MONA.
Examples
You can use the system table LOCKS to determine the following database information, among other things:
● All locks that are currently held on table ROOM
SELECT lockmode, lockstate, rowidlength, rowidhex, rowid
FROM DOMAIN.LOCKS
WHERE tablename = 'ROOM'
● All locks that the current user holds in that database session on table ROOM
SELECT lockmode, lockstate, rowidlength, rowidhex, rowid
FROM DOMAIN.LOCKS, SYSINFO.SESSIONS
WHERE tablename = 'ROOM'
AND locks.session = sessions.sessionid
● All locks that are currently held on the table with the hexadecimal internal identification 000000000000035D
SELECT lockmode, lockstate, rowidlength, rowidhex, rowid
FROM DOMAIN.LOCKS
WHERE tableid = X'000000000000035D'
If the current user is the database administrator (DBA user) or the database system administrator (SYSDBA user), then all currently held locks are shown.
Users that belong to other user classes only see the locks held by that one user.
Definition
The system table LOCKS describes the current lock entries and entries for lock requests.

Checking for a locked purchase order.
We are running SRM 4.0 SRM Server 5.0 with a 4.7 R/3 backend in extended classic mode.
I'm looking for a way to check if a purchase order is locked. By locked I'm referring to the purchase order being modified by another individual. Since we are running extended classic mode, I'm only interested in business object type BUS2201. I do not want to set a lock, I just want to inquire if a lock is set. Is there a function module that will fit this need? Or is there a table I could query to get this information.
Best regards,
Shawn O'ConnorI am not sure of the function module, which reports if a given PO is locked! but I have a alternate way.
Transaction : SM12 (locks)
Enter the table name as : CRMD_ORDERADM_H
When you execute, it lists all the lock entries for rows in this table with the details of the user.
As you know all the business objects in SRM is stored with GUID, you can use the GUID displayed to find out which PO is locked, by opening transaction SE16 and the same table CRMD_ORDERADM_H and the GUID number. You will now get the purchase order number.
Just for your information
CRMD_ORDERADM_H - Header table for all the business documents in SRM
CRMD_ORDERADM_I - Item table for all the the business document headers in table CRMD_ORDERADM_H
Do reward points if useful.
Thanks

Lock table is out of available lock entries
Hi,
I'm using BDB 4.8 via Berkeley DB XML. I'm adding a lot of XML documents (ca. 1000) in one transaction and get "Lock table is out of available lock entries". My locks number is set to 100000 (it's too much but still...).
I know that I probably should not put so many docs in the same transaction, but why BDB throws "not enough locks" error? Aren't 100000 locks enough? (I also tried to set 1 million for testing purposes)
As a side effect question, may I change the number of locks after environment creation (but before opening it)?
P.S. Hope it's not offtop on this forum
Thanks in advance,
VyacheslavHello,
As you mention, "Lock table is out of available lock entries" indicates that there are more locks than your underlying database environment is configured for. Please take a look at the documentation on "Configuring locking: sizing the system" section of the Berkeley DB Reference Guide at:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-
db/db/programmer_reference/lock_max.html
From there:
The maximum number of locks required by an application cannot be easily estimated. It is possible to calculate a maximum number of locks by multiplying the maximum number of lockers, times the maximum number of lock objects, times two (two for the two possible lock modes for each object, read and write). However, this is a pessimal value, and real applications are unlikely to actually need that many locks. Reviewing the Lock subsystem statistics is the best way to determine this value.
What information is the lock subsystem statistics showing? You can get this with db_stat -c or programmatically with the environment lock_stat method.
Thanks,
Sandra -
Enqueue: Elem.lock 0 contains unpermitted lock mode /. lock object
Hello All,
SCM 5.0 system which is upgraded from 4.1:
System log entries contains:
<b>Enqueue: Elem.lock 0 contains unpermitted lock mode /. lock object /sapapo/E</b>
Work process log file contains :
LOG GE8===>0 /sapapo/E_MATLOC
I have gone through few notes like 606425, 447242.( lower version)
From which I came to the conclusion that it is program error.
Also group GE and No:8 What does it mean?
Please let me know your thoughts.Thanks.

I found one more note :

The issue looks pretty similar. I think the notes you found are better suited for sap apo.
Log a call with SAP and check what they have to say.

Check-In not locked for structure element in SOLMAN_DIRECTORY
Hi,
In the solution manager, as a pre-requisite of the one of the upgrade project,
all the BPS nodes should be checked in the solution directory.
But we are not able to check in .
Getting below error message.
" Check-In not locked for structure element PD-PPD of type with object_no 0000847512 "
Message no. MAINT_PR046
Can anyone please suggest what could be the issue. Please ensure whether both projects have the same budget profile. Other than that you need to carefully investigate how the cost was posted onto both projects in the first place. Please note in case of procurements, budget is only checked at the commitments level (search the forum as this has been discussed before).
In case this does not resolve your issue, revert back with the budget profile settings.

Other solution for locked entries in smq2
Hello everyone. Good day!
I have two entries in smq2 that are not moving. However, the status text indicates that they are running. 2 hours has elapsed since the entries started not to move. I have tried unlocking the queues and resetting the message causing the block. After resetting the message, the status text became Object Requested is Currently Locked by User. Thus, I deleted the locked entry in sm12. After deleting, I reset the entries again, then the status was changed to running but the entries are still not moving.
It seems that the steps I performed above do not work. So, my next step is to look at sm37 if there is a failing job. But I found none. I also checked sm59 to see if there is a connection problem with our Java server. But the connection is fine.
Do you have other ideas on how to solve this?
Thanks in advance!Me too not sure, how to check in SMQ2.:-(
We ca do this in SXMB_MONI. Here you will find your msg with green flag.
Here there will be a column for queue name. If you click on this it will take you to the screenyou see from SMQ2. In SXMB_MONI, there will be a column which says PE/AE. If it is PE then the msg corresponds to a BPM. Click on PE to know about the steps completed in the BPM.

Lock: Can't get shadow database entry for root
Hi all--
posting this here since I'm having trouble with a Solaris release version and not OpenSolaris. Plus, Rich makes it pretty clear not to bug him with questions about this program! :-D
Anyway I've been using Rich Teer's lock program on Solaris 10 (and 9) and it's been great. http://www.rite-group.com/rich/sw/lock.html
But now that I've built a new machine with the latest general Solaris 10 x86 release (Solaris 10 8/07 s10x_u4wos_12b X86) the portion of lock that gets info from the shadow file doesn't seem to work:
if I enter the incorrect password (to either lock or lock -p) I get:
lock: Can't get shadow database entry for root: Error 0
Rich discusses the background on his lock program in this article:
http://developers.sun.com/solaris/articles/program_privileges.html
...but it's over my head.
Anyone have some guidance on this? I'd really like to use this program in my work environment. thanks! ..and happy Thanksgiving!

Jer, I have tried stopping and stating the database many times to no avail. I even stop the listener first before trying a restart, see below

Hi experts,
I developed a function module to update the confirmations tab of a PO on ME22N screen. Now, I want to have a lock object in the FM so that a user cant make changes while this FM is in use. I do not know if there is any standard lock object for this purpose. I created a lock object in SE11 'EZEKES' since table EKES corresponds to vendor confirmations details. The Enqueue function was called into the program. The code is below:

EBELN = ponumber

FOREIGN_LOCK = 1

Multiple lock entries in VB22 (sales deal) while only one in VK12
Hi All,
When a user edits a sales deal with several condition records, lock table has several entries with the exact same description
Name Table Name Key
UK_KCHANDIK Table Lock Structure A922
If the sales deal has 20 condition records (each for a different material), then there are 20 lock entries of this type; this causes lock table overflow as most sales deal in production system have several entries.
However if the same condition records are being edited directly, i.e. in transaction VK12, even though so many condition records are being edited, there is only one lock created for the table A922.
Searching both SAP Notes and SDN forums for 2 days didn't provide any solution. Can anyone suggest how we can make lock entries of VB22 transaction more generic, i.e. at a table level rather than material level as happening currently?
Thanks & Regards,
Kris
SAP SDIt looks like something which may have a note released by SAP but we couldn't find any.
An issue is being raised with SAP but it looks like it will take a while. In the meantime, I am wondering if someone has come across this situation before and who may have a fix / note as a ready reference.
Thanks,
Krish. -
Unalbe to delete lock entry table using Dequeue function module
Friends,
I display a base ALV list with custom app. tool bar. When i click on a button, i submit another report which updates a z-table for that corresponding row. I create a lock object for this entry before submitting the report. After updating the table, I try to delete the lock object using dequeue function module in the called report, but though the subrc is 0, the lock entry is not getting deleted in SM12. The called report, after dequeue, again submits report 1 (the caller). So, when i try to do some operation for the same row which I first selected, it triggers Foreign_lock exception. When I completely go out of the base list, only then the entry is deleted. Can anyone tell me the reason? I have tried with parameters _SCOPE & _SYNCHRON, but same result.
Regards,
Sathish RHi,
The triggering of the dequeue is not in the proper position as it need to be placed.
Thats the only problem as per u have described the issue.
Place the deque as soon as the report is return the value.
I hope it may work ur issue.
