No login requirement

Hi
We are looking at using Instant Portal for a private Intranet. One requirement the project manager won't move on is that he doesn't want the users to have to login to the system. I have posted a query about modifying the login.jsp to include a hard coded username and password and some form of auto submit to the SSO forum. I am hoping someone on this forum may have already come up with a work around for this, for what I think would be quite a common requirement.
The Project manager is looking at other products as well and it would be shame for them (and me as an Oracle contractor) if they start to move off the Oracle platform.

Sebastien,
I believe you first need to evaluate what you already have at your customer so that later on you are possible to choose on the right path to go to... Things such as Windows Native Authentication, etc... are possible. The thing is it needs to be thought how it will be the implementation. The only thing I can advice you it to gather up the information and check the Documentation and if any question please fire it to the forums or alternatively to the Oracle Support.
Also the Portal may or may not be the best to put these kind of questions (depending the nature of the question - maybe put in more than a forum in case of doubt).
Cheers,
Pedro.

  • Double login required

I have a portal application that has some forms applications inside, the applications are presented using an html portlet and the user is identified via SSO, the problem is since a server reboot when a user tries to access a forms application, the login page is presented instead of going directly to the application.Once the user enters his/hers credentials again everything works ok for that session, it seems as if the sso session from portal is different from the one on forms. Both portal and forms are in the same server and respond to the same url.

  • Q: How to create reports with no login required?

I would like to make some reports available to internal people but I dont want/need login security. Is this possible? how?

    Daryl,
Change the application's authentication scheme to DATABASE. You should see that scheme on the authentication scheme report, just click the "make current" link and confirm. Then the whole application will be public. To make selected pages public in your application, leave the authentication scheme as is and change the authentication attribute of those pages to "Page is Public" on the page attributes form.

  • Multiple logins required

With Lion, I am forced to login twice ... once with a username password prompt with the full screen background image, and then with the normal Lion login (with my picture).  So I have to login twice after sleep.
Is this normal or is there some setting I am missing?

The same happened to me today, only in reverse order.
I logged in from the normal grey login screen. After that I got another small login screen, just like the one you get if you lock your screen, only that it was not on top of my desktop picture nor on top of my screen saver but on top of the standard Lion desktop picture (galaxy and stars). That Lion standard desktop picture including the login window seemed to be contained in a window, because i could move both away using the “show deskop” active corner. Behind that window was just a black screen.
I don’t know what to make of this. I hope it’s just a bug.

  • Login require for entire wiki server

Is it possible to secure the entire wiki server, require user authentication to access any content on the wiki server (home, people,documents...)?

Does anyone not have this problem? I'm wondering if it's a Kerberos thing.

  • [Solved] GDM Login requires 2 attempts, Gnome "gksu" never works

    Hi all,
I am running a fully up-to-date Arch linux install with Gnome shell.
It was working fine before Easter, however, on returning, after a full update, I now have to enter my password twice when logging in.
The first attempt pauses like an incorrect password, however, when left nothing happens. Then if I press cancel and log in again it is fine.
Further, the gnome shell dialogues for priviledge elevation, like for gparted, never work. Instead I have to run sudo gparted or gksu gparted from terminal.
It is very similar to this thread from last year:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=173585
Except that I have been running this Arch install since October and have only just come across this problem.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Sorry for the delay replying - haven't been in my office for a while so couldn't test anything / get logs. That fixed it, thanks!!!

  • I didn't have login code for old ipad, new ipad requires one or it won't open.

How do I get around that 4 digit login requirement on my new ipad air?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
If this doesn't work, you'll need to force Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • In Portal Anonymous mode - Change password option not coming- login fails

    Hi Experts,
We are having some application which requires login in anonymous mode. When we click the application and give the user id password, it loggs in properly, there is no problem in that.
But if the password is reset by administrator, then when entering the reset password given by admin it should ask to change the password. This is happening in normal scenario(/irj/portal), but when try the same in anonymous mode(irj/portal/anonymous) where the prompt is from the login required application, then it says login failed instead of giving the change password and confirm password screen.
Appreciate your help in solving this issue. I hope many would have faced similar situation.
    Thanks
    Yusuf

    Hi Yusuf.
Do you use a standard or custom login module for your application?
More likely the used login module does not have a logic that handles such scenario as a change of user's password.
In this case you need to implement a custom module with a required functionality.

  • Does anyone know how to REMOVE proxy requirement to sign in to CC?

I've seen quite a few posts while searching on this topic on how to set up a proxy, but I need the opposite.  I made the mistake of using Creative Cloud once with my VPN software running (I only need to use VPN to update one specific program I use for work).  Now, any time I need to sign in to CC, either the updater or to authorize a program (Acrobat XI asks me almost every time I use it), it asks for my proxy username and password (that I use with my VPN), not my regular Adobe ID like it used to.  It's a giant pain to have to fire up my VPN software just to login to get my programs to work.  I'm using this on my personal laptop, and I don't need to use a proxy to get on the internet.  Does anyone know how to remove the proxy login requirement and set it back to just using my Adobe ID?

Jgabren there should be no requirement to be on a specific network.  I am very concerned by the following statement in your first post, "I only need to use VPN to update one specific program I use for work."  Was this an Adobe application?  Why do you have the requirement to log into your VPN to update this application?
It does sounds like your computer is managed by an I.T. organization.  I would recommend contacting your I.T. department to ensure this is not a requirement that they have put in place.

  • Newly-added users to private wiki canʻt login

I set up a secured wiki under Snow Leopard Server (unlimited license) a couple of months ago but, now, when I create new users (via Server Preferences) and I try to login with their usernames/passwords via Safari 4.0.4 or Firefox 3.5.7, the login is rejected. Previously created users can access the wiki just fine. Iʻve read through this Forum for similar problems and here are some details Iʻve seen requested from others with similar problems:
    1. Server Admin > Access is set to "For all services" and "allow all users and groups."
    2. When I login to the wiki as an administrator, under Services, Iʻve tried various combinations of Public, Public w/login required (with both "All authenticated users can write" and "Only the following users and groups can write"-w/all user and group names entered manually), Private (w/all user and group names entered manually).
    3. When I enter the following into the terminal, the response is "user is a member of the group" for all groups for which new users are defined: > dsmemberutil checkmembership -U username -G groupname
    4. Iʻve tried "> dsmemberutil flushcache" multiple times, to no avail.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Or other things to try?

Is the wiki service the only one affected? Can you log into the server as those users, or su - s <username> in terminal?
Alternatively, if you have enabled calendar or mail (or any other service), can these new users connect to the server via iCal and Mail, respectively?
Could you look at the wiki error log (/Library/Logs/wikid/error.log by default) and see what the error message is? Incorrect username/passwords usually trigger a message like the following, but it might be different...
    Unhandled Error
    Traceback (most recent call last):
Failure: twisted.cred.error.UnauthorizedLogin: bad username or password : rjarratt

  • Problem with login to Sharepoint

    Hello,
I wonder if someone here could provide me some advise regarding the issue we have regarding sharepoint login.
Our user is trying to login to sharepoint site: https://onepoyry-my.sharepoint.com
Prior to this site, there is Microsoft login required (https://login.microsoftonline.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1%2E0&rpsnv=4&ct=1429261257&rver=6%2E1%2E6206%2E0&wp=MBI&wreply=https%3A%2F%2Fonepoyry-my%2Esharepoint%2Ecom%2F_forms%2Fdefault%2Easpx%3Fapr%3D1%26loginasanotheruser%3Dtrue&lc=1029&id=500046)
After the login, user get following error, probably generated by sharepoint site:
    That didn't work
External sharing is disabled for https://onepoyry-my.sharepoint.com
Issue type: Guest user is signing-in but external sharing is disabled
This problem occurs in our organization computers. User says the error does not occur when using private machine.
Thus we suspect some settings on our computers might be preventing correct access to https://onepoyry-my.sharepoint.com
Please, do you have any recommendation for us in this matter? Thank you in advance!

Thank you Anil for the hint. We will try to put focus on customers GPO to see whether the problem is there.
My initial understanding was that the error message comes from the sharepoint site itself, so I thought that it is sharepoint site admin who needs to change some settings to allow that "external sharing"
But I could not reach the site admin, furthermore customer says it works on private computers, so I started to think that the problem is with the workstations not with the sharepoint site.. So will look into that GPO as you suggested now

  • I want to setup login pasword in my computer

i want to setup login pasword in my computer

Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups and change the login requirements.  You can add users and add login passwords.

  • How can i find the requested portal page in custom login.jsp

We are using a customized login, logout and change password page built in JSP.
The wwsso_ls_configuration_info$ has been updated to point to the customized
JSP pages. Everything works fine so far but we would like to show different
content inside the customized login page depending on which portal page that
    was requested.
eg suppose the user requested a page that belong to page group X we want to
show login page with html content relevant to page group X. If page group Y is
requested, then it show relevant information for Y.
The ssousername, password field and other parameter needed for login page will
be left to the standard names defined by oracle login requirements.
For this purpose, we need to find which portal page was requested by user in
the customized login.jsp( as users tend to bookmark the portal page eg.
    http://domain/portal/page?_pageid=33,30983,33_30985&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL)
Once i know the requested portal page, i can parse the _pageid to get the page group.

Were you ever able to get this issue resolved? I would be interested in the solution if one was ever found. Thanks.

  • Second Admin User - keychain login?

Recently added second Admin User (Spouse).
When logged in to the second Admin User, being required to enter Keychain login password from first Admin User.
This is for Safari and for other apps.
If the second User is logged in at an administrative level, why is Keychain login and Safari login required each login? Can't I have Safari and Leopard remember the password? And, it's the password for the first Admin User?

every user (admin or not) has their own keychain. they are completely separate from each other and don't interact at all with one another.
when you log in a new user you have to enter all the passwords you want to store in that user's keychain. not sure what you mean about keychain login and safari login being required on every login. could you explain?

  • Cisco UCS Director Login Problem

    Hello Community,
    I have recently installed Cisco UCS Director 5.1. According to the documentation the initial login requirements are admin for username and admin for password, see image;

    However, authentication keeps on failing.
    Any ideas?

    Sergey,
If this is a real I2C issue, you may still see the same behavior on 2.0.x release if the I2C bus was not cleared before the upgrade. (in this moment I don't know if you recently performed an upgrade on the system or not)
I2C bus tranports information about the different components of the Unified System, this, meaning Chassis, IOMs, Fans, PSU, etc...  What happens is that all those components try to send theit status update while other do the same and then the I2C bus gets overwhelmed, and then noone can really report their real status, so we usually recommend the customer ro reseat all major components, one at the time, to clear the bus and then do the upgrade, if that is not done before the upgrade, it still should be done after.
Try reseating the Fans and PSU, one at the time, leaving a minute in between and then, IOMs one at the time, leaving three minutes in between and begining with the subordinate to cause minimun disruption.
If this does not clear the situation, then you will need to remove one of the components already mentioned, one at the time and do a "show tech-support chassis # all brief" to see what the I2C bus reports segment by segment (chassis, Fans, PSUs...) once you remove a component and the errors on each segment stop incrementing you will have your faulty piece of hardware, and a TAC case will be needed to send a replacement.
For further analysis or assistance, I strongly recommend a TAC case to be opened.
    -Kenny
