No logon possible (no hw ID received by mssg server)

We have restored a copy of our production R/3 system onto another LPAR. I've done the homogenous copy of that system and have done all the post upgrade steps. I was working on it all day yesterday with no problems.
Today, when I stopped/started the system, when I try and login I get the error "No logon possible (no hw ID received by mssg server)"
When looking in the dev_ms log, there really isn't anything out of the oridinary. Looking in the dev_disp log, there are a bunch of logs that say: *** ERROR => MsISnd2: not_attached [msxxi.c 1334]
***LOG Q0N=> DpRqNoWpHandle, MsSndName () [dpxxdisp.c 4297]
Anyone seen this error before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have a OSS message open as well.

Hi Dale,
this is a quite normal thing after homo copies that are carried out slightly wrong.
The host names in the profiles, cfgtcp option 10 & 12 and the service sapmsSID need fully to match. If one of these is wrong, the dispatcher is not able to find the message server ... (upper & lowercase is of interest as well)

I had this problem. I noticed in my SAPMMC (Console) my process list was status yellow also.
A change I made was in "start>settings>network connections"
My "Microsoft Loopback adapter" was enabled but not connected.
Steps I took and it now works are:
- rebooted
- Added the "Microsoft Loopback adapter" to the bridge by right clicking on the adapter and choosing "Add to bridge"
- started application server through menupath
- looked at console and lights were green
- started up the gui and i am able to log-in.

Is it possible to make a receiver step return immediately?

Hi everyone,
I am implementing a model with a loop to handle multiple messages. if there is a message meets requirement, the loop exits. but there MIGHT be other messages parked and I need to notify the sender of the message not being processed.
so i am thinking to add another loop to receive parked/unprocessed messages. but it's possible that there is NO parked message at all. so the receiver in the last loop should be able to return immediately regardless there is parked message or not. in window programming, there is an API to receive message from system message queue without waiting. so my question is: is it possible to have a receiver without waiting?
besides the no waiting receiver, i am open to any other suggestion that can solve my problem.

Very helpful explanation for me to understand BPM from OO way.
Based on my understanding, I have a slight different opinion regarding the instance creation of the BPM. Whether another instance gets created depends on how correlation is defined. If correlation is on PO number and the second change request has the same PO number as the first one, then no "another" instance gets created when the first instance is still running. If the second change request is NOT "correlated" with the first one, then another instance gets created.
If my understanding is correct, then how can we handle the following case:
1. the receiver step starts correlation on PO number
2. the first change reqeust and the second change request have the same PO number. the second change request is sent right after the first change request.
3. the first change request gets confirmed and the instance stops. But there is one parked message.
Will the parked message starts a new instance? or it just gets ignored. I prefer to have a single instance and notify the sender of the parked message that it won't be processed. If the sender wants it to be processed, it knows it should send a new message to start a new instance.

I work on PI 7.1 and needed to create an interface using a simple File-to-File scenario. I created this without using any IR/ESR Objects as per a technical article on the website saptechnical dot com /Tutorials/XI/File2File/Demo1.htm
This worked perfectly fine in my dev environment. However, when I moved it to Test environment, I am having issues. Error message shown in RWB for Adapter engine is

I checked the Sender agreement. It seems fine. All other components are also active, however I do not see the sender agreement in SXI_CACHE transaction. Any clues what could be wrong ?

Please perform below tasks
1. Logon Integration Directory
2. Click on 'Modification' icon, put a 'dummy' change (may a space) in the description field
3. Save the change
4. Active the changed objects
5. Repeat 2, 3, 4 steps for all those objects you moved to Test environment.
All the above steps, eventually leads to have forceble cache refresh, if this won't helps resolve, Please perform full CPACache refresh using below URl
http://<host name>:<http port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
I presume these instructions will help to resolve the issue.

RfC are remote function calls through which u can remotely access other system.
RFC
Purpose
Communication between applications of different systems in the SAP environment includes connections between SAP systems as well as between SAP systems and non-SAP systems. Remote Function Call (RFC) is the standard SAP interface for communication between SAP systems. The RFC calls a function to be executed in a remote system.
Synchronous RFC
The first version of RFC is synchronous RFC (sRFC). This type of RFC executes the function call based on synchronous communication, which means that the systems involved must both be available at the time the call is made.
Transactional RFC (tRFC)
Transactional RFC (tRFC, also originally known as asynchronous RFC) is an asynchronous communication method that executes the called function module in the RFC server only once. The remote system need not be available at the time when the RFC client program is executing a tRFC. The tRFC component stores the called RFC function, together with the corresponding data, in the SAP database under a unique transaction ID (TID).
If a call is sent, and the receiving system is down, the call remains in the local queue until a later time. The calling dialog program can proceed without waiting to see whether or not the remote call was successful. If the receiving system does not become active within a certain amount of time, the call is scheduled to run in batch.
tRFC is always used if a function is executed as a Logical Unit of Work (LUW). Within a LUW, all calls are
·         executed in the order in which they are called
·         executed in the same program context in the target system
·         run as a single transaction: they are either committed or rolled back as a unit.
Implementation of tRFC is recommended if you want to guarantee that the transactional order of the calls is preserved.
Disadvantages of tRFC
·       tRFC processes all LUWs independent of one another. Due to the amount of activated tRFC processes, this procedure can reduce performance significantly in both the send and the target systems.
·       In addition, the sequence of LUWs defined in the application cannot be kept. Therefore, there is no guarantee that the transactions are executed in the sequence dictated by the application. The only guarantee is that all LUWs are transferred sooner or later.
Queued RFC (qRFC)
To guarantee that multiple LUWs are processed in the order specified by the application, tRFC can be serialized using queues (inbound and outbound queues). This type of RFC is called queued RFC (qRFC).
qRFC is therefore an extension of tRFC. It transfers an LUW (transaction) only if it has no predecessors (in reference to the sequence defined in different application programs) in the participating queues.
Implementation of qRFC is recommended if you want to guarantee that several transactions are processed in a predefined order.
RFC: Data Transfer
All RFC types are transferred by means of CPI-C or TCP/IP. They constitute a form of gateway communication.

CLI0615E Error receiving from socket, server is not responding.

We recently changed a web application using DB2 5.2 tables from ODBC to JDBC. We are using the COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.driver. We are using a
connection pool and running on iPlanet.
We are getting intermittant "CLI0615E Error receiving from socket, server is not responding errors". We have looked in the JDBC forum and DB2 support and cannot find a reasonable answer to this problem. It is NOT always on sql statements that take a long time to execute, so I don't think it is a timeout issue.
I read something about "stale connections". Does anyone know how to check to see if this is a problem?
When we first converted the app, we had a lot of problems also with "invalid handle or statement is closed" which we have determined was being caused by the user submitting the page again before it had time to finish the first time. We have put in javascript code to prevent multiple submits. Could this server not responding problem be caused by double submits that we have not located yet?
The error is NOT occuring on any one page, and the same page will run correctly once and the next time throw this error.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Usually this error code means that there was some problem while the driver tried establishsing a socket connection to the remote server. You could very well avoid this by tracking out what is preventing the socket connection.. it may be network congestion or some other onfiguration problems with the network, or with the DB2 server...
But if the same application could work perfectly with jdbc-odbc driver in same environment,then it needs some attention.either the ibm driver isn't throwing the error as expected by the iplanet or iplanet isn't acting as needed when such an error is thrown.

I'm looking for some general guidance on this complete error:

Msg 16389, Sev 16, State 1: The connection is no longer usable because the server response for a previously executed statement was incorrectly formatted. [SQLSTATE 08S01]
This error is caused by a SQL Agent Job, but it does not always occur. I understand this could be an issue with SQL dropping the connection, but what is the best way to troubleshoot this?

It would be more helpful for troubleshooting the issue if you post the SQL Server error log and SQL Server version. Additionally, please state what purpose of using the agent job.
Based on my research, [SQLSTATE 08S01] error means communication link failure. If the executed statement returns invalid value in the job, the connection between server and client will fail. This error could be caused by the error of [SQLSTATE HY000] and
[SQLSTATE 01004]. I’d like to share my knowledge about these errors as below.
Quote: String data, right truncation [SQLSTATE 01004]
This error could occur when passing data whose length is larger than the received object,and the passed value is truncated, and returns invalid value. So please check if the data type of the objects are identical and the length of passed value is not larger
than the received object.
Quote: Msg 0, Sev 0, State 1: Unknown token received from SQL Server [SQLSTATE HY000]
The error could occur in the two cases below.
1. If you use SQL Server version 6.50, and execute the cursor in the job step, set the statement options to use a server-side cursor and prepare a select statement on a SQL Server system table. The first execution of the select creates the cursor successfully.
After you close this cursor, if you execute the prepared statement again, the error could occur.
I recommend you to apply the latest service pack firstly. If the error still occurs, you could change your code by using a forward-only cursor instead of a static, keyset, or dynamic cursor on the system tables. If a forward-only cursor is unacceptable,
prepare the select statement again on the system table and execute it to create a server-side cursor. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:

we have done below checks also..
1. cache refresh (ESR, ID, Delta and full cache)
2.tested configurations in ID its working fine.
3. checked SXMB_ADM and and pipeline url and business systems in SLD. everything is fine.
4. when i checked in messaging system there i find something error like.

Yes it is possible but database size should not be greater than 10 G as max databse size supported for Express 2012 is 10 G
