Any hints appreciated.
Agree with David,
I dont use Portico as well ...read thru below :
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/customer-collaboration/unified-contact-center-enterprise/116165-trouble-ucce-trace-00.html#anc17
Portico seems to limited with what it can do and what it can be used for. I normlay just use Portico to monitor services status.
Thanks,
Kartik

CUCM upgrade in UCCE environment
We have a CUCM cluster(v6.1.2) for our UCCE environment (ICM v7.2.5). I need to upgrade the CUCM to version 6.1.3 (due to the DST bug). Can someone tell me which components in UCCE that I will need to upgrade and/or modify for this CUCM upgrade? Or at least point me to a document that outlines this?
thanks,
BrianYou would probably have compatibility without any UCCE change, but the recommended task is to download the updated JTAPI Client plugin from your upgraded CUCM and overwrite what is there on your PGs.
That is all.

Logging in clustered environment
Hi Guys,
I have installed OOTB AD connector in a clustered environment successfully. Also, enabled logging in log.properties file and then restarted OIM server.
This is in OIM 10g.
But I am not able to see any thing in the logs related to AD.
Please let me know how to enable logging in a clustered environment.check your logging.prop file , is there is any entry for AD OOTB logs . if yes & logs are not coming then send me the details.
Its look like--
log4j.logger.OIMCP.ADCS=DEBUG, ADAdapter
log4j.additivity.OIMCP.ADCS=false
and your looger is in which mode. -
How can i implement TTS on UCCE environment?
Hello guys,
Sorry about that, but I need to implement a TTS on a Unified Contact Center Enterprise 8.0.
The environment have a ICM 8.0 server, a CallManager and a IPIVR.
Where I implement the TTS? For exemplo, the queue will says to the customer that the waiting time in queue will take 3 minutes. How can I do this with TTS?
I don't know where I start, if someone can help me to understande the TTS and where I implement, i will be very regard.
Or if someone knows some guide about TTS, show me please.You don't need TTS to read back numbers associated with time in queue.
You need TTS if you are trying to announce to the caller something more abstract, like the caller's address retrieved from a database. But for numbers, time of day, dates, currency etc. there is enough structure in the system to build prompts that announce the required data without using a Text To Speech server.

Senthil.This indicates that MR PIM1 is unable to establish a network connection to your dialer. Make sure the MR PIM's are configuring with the correct hostnames or IP addresses for your dialers.

Pre-Check Completed at Wed Oct 18 21:22:32 2006Hi,
Its good that u pasted the complete log file. In your environment you have to run this upgrade tool only once from any of the middle tier.
And with respect to your error that u got in precheck is quite simple. All u have to do is just run this script from by connecting to portal schema using sqlplus.
Run dropupg.sql
Location-------- /raid/product/OraHome_1/upgrade/temp/portal/prechktmp/dropupg.sql
Later you re-run the upgrade tool and let me know the status.
Good luck

How to see data for particular date from a alert log file
Hi Experts,
I would like to know how can i see data for a particular date from alert_db.log in unix environment. I'm suing 0racle 9i in unix
Right now i'm using tail -500 alert_db.log>alert.txt then view the whole thing. But is there any easier way to see for a partiicular date or time
Thanks
ShaanHi Jaffar,
Here i have to pass exactly date and time, is there any way to see records for let say Nov 23 2007. because when i used this
tail -500 alert_sid.log | grep " Nov 23 2007" > alert_date.txt
It's not working. Here is the sample log file

UCCE 7.5.8 with CAD Agents sitting in India
Hi all,
I've got a scenario and am looking for some inputs.
I've got a centralized CUCM 7.1.3 with UCCE 7.5.8 and CAD 7.5.8. Today I only phones at our India office and all is working perfectly fine with no issues. I am looking into having CAD agents sitting at this office connecting UCCE environment back in California. I've done some testings with CAD agent installed in India and so far all is looking good. It takes about 60-80 seconds from the CAD login screen to completely login to CAD.My concern is the round-trip delay between Ca and India, it's about 290-300ms round-trip.
Questions:
Has anyone successfully deployed this type of scenario ? please share your experience !!!
Has anyone used WAAS to help accelerate CAD login process ?
Thanks in advance !!! and I appreciate any inputs/suggestions
D.[email protected] you know if CAD supervisor can monitor agent using CTIOS desktop ?
Here is your answer I hope it is useful for you .
UCCE 8.5 SRND page 198
Support for Mix of CAD and CTI OS Agents on the Same PG
Unified CCE deployments can support a mix of CAD and CTI OS agents on the same PG. If a mix is deployed, the sizing limitations of CAD apply.
Note that Cisco Supervisor Desktop (CSD) can monitor only CAD agents, and the CTI OS supervisor application can monitor only CTI OS agents.
Cisco Agent Desktop, Supervisor Desktop, and CTI OS cannot co-exist with Cisco CallManager PG; the configuration of agents and supervisors must be kept separate. Cisco Supervisor Desktop cannot be used to monitor a CTI OS agent desktop, nor can a CTI OS supervisor monitor a Cisco Agent Desktop agent.

Why is there no error when checkpointing after db log files are removed?
I would like to test a scenario when an application's embedded database is corrupted somehow. The simplest test I could think of was removing the database log files while the application is running. However, I can't seem to get any failure. To demonstrate, below is a code snippet that demonstrates what I am trying to do. (I am using JE 3.3.75 on Mac OS 10.5.6):
public class FileRemovalTest {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
// Setup the DB Environment
EnvironmentConfig ec = new EnvironmentConfig();
ec.setAllowCreate(true);
ec.setTransactional(true);
ec.setConfigParam(EnvironmentConfig.ENV_RUN_CLEANER, "false");
ec.setConfigParam(EnvironmentConfig.ENV_RUN_CHECKPOINTER, "false");
ec.setConfigParam(EnvironmentConfig.CLEANER_EXPUNGE, "true");
ec.setConfigParam("java.util.logging.FileHandler.on", "true");
ec.setConfigParam("java.util.logging.level", "FINEST");
Environment env = new Environment(new File("."), ec);
// Create a database
DatabaseConfig dbConfig = new DatabaseConfig();
dbConfig.setAllowCreate(true);
dbConfig.setTransactional(true);
Database db = env.openDatabase(null, "test", dbConfig);
// Insert an entry and checkpoint the database
db.put(
null,
new DatabaseEntry("key".getBytes()),
new DatabaseEntry("value".getBytes()));
CheckpointConfig checkpointConfig = new CheckpointConfig();
checkpointConfig.setForce(true);
env.checkpoint(checkpointConfig);
// Delete the DB log files

OS X, being Unix-like, probably isn't actually deleting file 00000000.jdb since JE still has it open -- the file deletion is deferred until it is closed. JE keeps N files open, where N is configurable.
We do corruption testing ourselves, in the following test by overwriting a file and then attempting to read back the entire database:

Infinite loop during recovery of JE 4.1.10 database environment
Hi there,
We have a JE 4.1.10 database environment which is over 20GB in size. In order to improve performance we increased je.log.fileCacheSize so that we could cache all of the 10MB DB log file descriptors in memory and prevent JE from having to constantly open/close log files (the environment is only partially cached in memory and there are more than 2000 log files). Unfortunately, we failed to increase the file descriptor ulimit from the Linux default of 1024 and our application failed when the ulimit was reached.
Since then we've reverted the settings and increased the JVM heap size so that we can fully cache everything in memory again. However, we are having problems recovering the DB environment. It looks like the environment recovery proceeds through the 10 recovery steps but gets stuck while loading the log file utilization meta-data:

It looks like it is spinning in UtilizationProfile.getFirstFSLN(). Examining the syscalls using strace shows that JE is looping around the same 3 log files over and over again (note the lseek calls on fd 147):

From the output of lsof we can determine the names of the log files associated with the above file descriptors, but I'm not sure if this is useful or not. We also ran DbVerifyLog against the entire DB log and it produced no results, so this indicates to me that the DB is not corrupt after all (although it could be that DbVerifyLog simply does not check the utilization profile meta data).
I had a look at the change log for 4.1.17 but couldn't see any relevant bugs. It's probably worth noting that this DB does not use HA, duplicates, or secondary indexes.
So I guess I have two questions:
1) Is this a bug? Presumably the DB should recover even in the event of a human error induced failure like this?
2) Can we recover the DB somehow, e.g. using DbDump/DbLoad?
Let me know if you need any additional information.
Cheers,
Matt1) Is this a bug? Presumably the DB should recover even in the event of a human error induced failure like this?It is probably a bug, but it depends on exactly what happened during the original crash.
2) Can we recover the DB somehow, e.g. using DbDump/DbLoad?If you can't open the environment, only DbDump -R (salvage mode) can be used, which requires identifying the active data by hand. Not a good option.
Let me know if you need any additional information.Do you happen to have the original stack trace, where you ran out of FDs?
How long did the looping go on before you killed the process?

Application Logging in Standalone weblogic - quick questions
Hi
In JDeveloper, we could write our application logging to logs for debugging and viewable from JDeveloper.
When we deploy to Standalone weblogic server, we cant find our logging.
Of the 3 loggers (Msg Catalog, nonCatalog, Commons log API),
Which logging mechanism is the best practice used logging for development environment ? Does it print to AdminServer.log ? If not, how can we accomplish that printing app log to AdminServer.log ?
Which logging mechanism is the best practice used logging for production environment ? Does it print to AdminServer.log ? If not, how can we accomplish that printing app log to AdminServer.log ?
Thankshi,
people commonly Log4J for their logging,Like Commons Logging, SLF4J, or the default Java Logging API. But if you're working with Oracle's Application Development Framework, there is another option as well: ADF Logging.
ADF Logging is a logging mechanism, embedded in the ADF framework. It wraps the Java Logging API, but throws in a few extra methods and some JDeveloper and (Weblogic) Enterprise Manager features.
the following one demo video from oracle site its very useful.
