After updating to 12 i can no longer add music files or folder to my itunes music library, the procedure i used in the past was :file>add folder library: now when i follow this and click on the file or folder i want to add to my library nothing at all happens?

Since updating to itunes 8.1.1 I have not been able to add music files or folders to itunes. The files play outside of itunes and are in MP3 format. The same files have been added to itunes in the past with no problems, but now itunes says all of my music folders are empty even though they are not. Please advise.....

j.bates, did you upgrade from itunes 6 or 7? iTunes has recently gotten very picky about ID3 headers.
Here is a good web article on it, and a possible fix. Take note, the fix may take your ID3 tags back to version 1.0 so try it on ONE song file before deciding whether it's worth using.

Unable to add files or folders to itunes?

Since the most recent itunes update, i haven't been able to add any files or folders from my computer onto itunes. I've tried both drag and drop and by adding it from the link in 'file' and opening and closing itunes multiple times. Is there any way I can get my music to add to my library?

We have a similar issue, did anyone ever figure this out?
Our error says we cannot delete the file because it is in use. It seems to happen when we try to delete a group of folders. However, I can open each folder and delete each item one at a time (which is not ideal). My window is in list view, not thumbnails.
We have new G5 quads and have noticed the problem more since about 10.4.6 The older machines running 10.3 do not have the issue and the server is running 10.2.8. I have been just going to an older machine and deleting from there but would like to do it from my machine.
We are an inhouse graphics department with no real support. I do the best I can to get things working here but I'm a designer with no IT training or background.

No longer able to add files error

Using: Oracle Portal Version: 9.0.2.3.0
When trying to add a file (simple File, File, Image etc) my browser returns a 'page not found' error whilst searching for the following URL:
http://hebe.staff.citycol.ac.uk:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwv_add_wizard.edititem
We've ran a few suggested scripts, changed a few of settings and rebooted it all but the error is still there.
Has anyone else come across this and resolved it?

Check out your error_log file in the $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/logs directory
There may be a problem with your tablespaces that store documents. It may have run of space and is not extending.
The log file should show which tablespace needs extending.
From memory this happened to us, and I had to increase
portal_tmp or portal_doc.

No longer able to add ringtones to itunes 10.6 and up

I am no longer able to add ringtones into tones. I make the ringtones via itunes but it won't let me add it to the "tones" tab. The file is proper .m4r extension but when I try to add it, it gives me the circle with the line across the middle that doesn't let me add it to the tones tab. Is anyone else having this trouble? and if so how can I fix it?

ITunes won't add files or folders

For the last couple of days I've been having a problem where iTunes won't add files or folders for no discernible reason. Yesterday I was able to add a few videos, then I wasn't. Today after reinstalling iTunes it added my music just fine, but when that was finished and I wanted to add something else, nothing. I don't know why it's doing this. Drag and drop doesn't work, either. When I try to bring a file over, I get a little red circle with the line through it saying it can't do it.

All I can say is that I have been trying a relentless combination of mounting and mounting the drive, checking and unchecking the 'copy files to iTunes Library', running 'consolidate library', and everything in between. One of them finally kicked it back into action.

No longer able to add bookmarks on Yahoo Toolbar, Error message: "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" started when I updated to Firefox 6.0

Since updating to Firefox 6.0 I am no longer able to add bookmarks on Yahoo Toolbarl. I receive the following Java Error message: "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function." When I hit the OK button in the error message it opens up "Add a Bookmark" and when I attempt to add the bookmark there I get this error message: "A problem occured while trying to save the bookmark. Please try again later."
Is this a comparability issue that you are not aware of? Below are the versions of Firefox and Yahoo Toolbar that I currently have installed:
Firefox: 6.0.02
Yahoo Toolbar: 2.4.0.20110815110908
Windows XP, Service Pack 3
I am having this issue on my laptop and desktop. Since I use both computers the Yahoo toolbar has been great for having my bookmarks available on both computers at the same time but no I don't have that feature. I'm told that Google's toolbar also doesn't work either.
Do you guys do any testing or Quality Assurance testing before releasing these versions?

Add-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not even put their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org you had to install it from their site.
Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.
* "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
* Do a Google Search no problem
* It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down.

Can't add files or folders

I am trying to add files in folders other than iTunes into the iTunes library.
Some work OK (mp3) but others are just ignored (aac).
Can anyone suggest what is wrong?

You can open Word files in Pages by default without any problem. Select one of the Word files by clicking once on it in Finder. Press cmd-i to Get Info on the file. In the bottom half of the window that opens, is Open with:. Below that click on the drop down box and select Pages.app. Then click on Change All... and confirm the "Are you sure... " warning. Now, all Word files will open in Pages.

I have an Ipod 32gb 4.0, for some reason I cannot seem to add files or folders by using the file tab etc-It did work sometimes either single file or folder-but now it does nowt at all.
I have completeley uninstalled itunes,quicktime etc as per apples instructions and reinstalled to no avail-it's doin my ruddy head in-£230 for a device that apparently is crap!.

Can't drag files and folders to iTunes

You're supposed to be able to drag files and folders from windows into iTunes, either just to add them to the library or to a specific device or playlist. However, when I try to do this now it just shows a little red circle with a slash like when you try to copy songs from an ipod to a computer. I can still add files by the 'add file to library' function but this makes it a lot harder to add stuff to the right playlists on my iPod. How do I get this to work again?

Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same.
