No longer able to attach files

I received a note from 2 separate users today stating they aren't able to upload files to our wiki server anymore. When they try the receive the error of: The file you selected is too large (maximum file size is %i Bytes)
I logged into the server and under the settings my maximum attachment size has changed to 0 MB. I change it to 300MB and hit save, and it reverts to 0 again.
I then checked the /etc/wikid/wikid.conf and the maxAttatchmentSize key is set to 314572800... but i still am not able to upload any files.
Any ideas why I can't make the changes to the max file size stick in the gui? and why can't we upload files no matter what the setting in the wikid.conf file is set to?
Please help,
thanks,
neil

I get this problem on my PPC, but not my Intel machine. Instead of using Server Admin, best to set this value (maxAttachmentSize) in the /etc/wikid/wikid.conf file. The value in Server Admin will still show '0', but I was still able to attach files up to the size I specified in the wikid.conf file.

You can open Word files in Pages by default without any problem. Select one of the Word files by clicking once on it in Finder. Press cmd-i to Get Info on the file. In the bottom half of the window that opens, is Open with:. Below that click on the drop down box and select Pages.app. Then click on Change All... and confirm the "Are you sure... " warning. Now, all Word files will open in Pages.

  • No longer able to attach .jpg images in Mail...

I'm having problems attaching .jpg images in Mail. This problem started two or three days ago. I can attach .zip files, but I'm unable to attach .pdf or .jpg files. I have not tried other formats, as these are the two most common formats used.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I prefer to use Firefox, so please help!

From your description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
There are some types of message size limits and several scope of limits. Please check the message size limits and attachment size limits in your organization, connector, server and user.

  • I am not able to attach files (picture) to my e-mail.

I am not able to attach files (pictures) to my e mails. My picture folders are located on my desktop. I normally click on the icon for attachments, and choose the picture I want to send. Now it just shows sending and it doesn't send. A pop up will show displaying technical problem.

I'm having the same problem with FF19.02 using Yahoo mail. Just as of 4/4/2013 we have not been able to attatch any type of a file. Don't want to go back to IE9 where it is working. C'mon FF. Not able to attach files other than photos/videos on iPad Safari/Chrome

You cannot attach them in a mail.
    But, you can do this.
    1. Go to the document.
    2. Tap on share button.
    3. There should be an option "Mail"
    4. Tap on it and attach.
    Note:
    1. If you are checking your mail in browswer - this does not work.
    2. You cannot attach it to the mail you are currently composing.

  • Recently, I have not been able to attach files to emails using the MobileMe webmail system.

When trying to attach files to emails using the MobileMe webmail system, it lets me browse and click on a file but then does nothing and there is no actual attachment. It previously always worked. I checked with the MobileMe folks and they said it is a browser problem. (True, it works in Safari.) Any ideas on how to fix this? I prefer Firefox, of course.

    Hi davebundy-
One suggestion I've heard is that ad block may be perceiving the mail client as an advertisement. The solution was to mark the webmail URL as safe with any ad block plugins or software you have. Hope that helps.

  • When using Firefox to access my Mobile Me e-mail account, since the recent Firefox update, I'm no longer able to attach a file to an e-mail. When I log in to my mobile me account with IE I can. Any ideas?

It stopped working this week, right I update to the latest version of Firefox. The system kept asking me about add-ons which hadn't done in the past.

  • Windows NTFS network drive no longer able to edit files in Osx 10.9

In the OSX 10.8x and before, the network drive hosted by Windows 2008 server in our .local domain was able to be modified by my imac under a local user account with the same user name without any problem.  The only issue was not able to join the AD due to the existing .local domain setup.  Upon upgrading to OSX 10.9 today, the network drive still connect properly, and the files on the share drive is still able to be opened, read, copied and deleted as before.  However, any attempt to save the changes to the opened file display an error message saying that it is been locked and I have no privilege to modify the file.  The funny thing is now that the mac computer is able to join the windows AD without problem, although under the network account, the same problem exited.  Something has to do with the SMB right/ share has been changed in this release.  Anyhelp on how I may resolve this problem?

I'm hoping you or someone can solve this. We're using Tuxera to add SMB NTFS write capabilities to Mavericks and it works great for everything ... except for iWork 2013. iWork 09 still reads and writes perfectly, as does every other app I have on my Mac.
At this point, I fear using iWork 2013 in a mixed Windows/OSX environment is dead if your server is NTFS. It's another quiver in Microsoft's argument that iWork is for children only. Despite all the griping about deprecated functions in the new iWork, there's no show stoppers as far as I'm concerned, and I use Pages, Keynote and Numbers in serious ways daily.

  • User are not able to attach files from sharepoint to Email (they become links)

    Hi,
We have a couple of users that can't drag and drop the documents in sharepoint to outlook to send the files as attachment. Instead they become links. They are using IE 9 and 8. This happens both in the search module and from a file library.
Any ideas what could be wrong? we only have a couple of users that have this issue. It seems to be working for other people.
    Thanks in advance.

    Two things for sure.
In Internet Explorer Options the site must be trusted.
    Select the Security Tab
Next Select "Local Intranet" and press the "Sites" button
Add your site to the trusted list.
    Next,
In the "Security level for this zone"
    Select the "Custom Level button"
Find "Initialize and script Active X controls not marked as safe for scripting" and enable the setting.
    That should do it.
