No longer able to watch TV/video?
I have the 30GB Video iPod. Originally I had it on my Dell laptop. At that point I was able to download and watch LOST. A year ago, I purchased an iMac and transferred my iTunes. I went to download a new television program (first time since the Mac) and cannot find it on my iPod (only on iTunes). When I try to "sync" the TV programs, it says my software is too old. What can I do? Do I need to restore to factory settings? What will that do with my already purchased music/ content?

How did the photos get on your iPad ? Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner (bottom right in iOS 7) if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it (Edit button on iOS 6, Select button in iOS 7) in thumbnail view. Photos/videos that were synced to the Photos app from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app - you need to move/remove/de-select them from where they were synced from on your computer and re-sync.
What happens when you try to watch a video or download them ? If you are having problems with the Videos app playing films/TV programmes then have you tried closing the app via the iPad's taskbar, and/or done a soft-reset (press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, ignorin the red slider, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot).
If you are having problems downloading films/TV programmes then are you getting any error messages ? You can delete films/TV programmes in the Videos app, either via the Edit button top right of the selection screens if your iPad is on iOS 7, or by pressing and holding a film/tv programme for a couple of seconds or so, it should then get an 'x' on its top corner

If you look at the preferences for Flashblock (access from the extensions window of the add-ons manager) and choose Whitelist, you can add a site to that window, and that site will not be blocked by Flashblock at all. You will not even see the Flashblock icon.

When i try to watch synced video on my itouch i get "the requested url cannot be found on this server". I am able to watch the video on my pc in itunes. However, i cannot watch it on my itouch. It shows in the video window that the video is there but when i select it to watch it i get the message and then it goes back to the video menu. It's like it's not really syncing - even though it shows on my itouch. It doesn't seem to be specific to videos downloaded to the itouch directly or itunes directly. It's happening to both.
This is happening to me too. I recently purchased about 4 music videos from iTunes, 3 of them play on both my pc and my iPod Touch but there's one particular music video that will only play on my pc and gives me the same "The requested url cannot be found on this server" message when I try to play it on my iPod. Can someone please rectify?

When unlocking my iphone 5 with the camera slide, my volume controls won't work on video playbacks. However, if I unlock the phone normally and open the camera roll I am able to watch my videos with the control of the volume. Anyone else notice this?

You installed the ClickToFlash or ClickToPlugin Safari Extension. It's one of the few such things that is actually beneficial. It intercepts Flash Player or other plugins before they load so that you can control them.

Most Flash content consists of intrusive advertisements that you probably do not want. ClickToFlash prevents them from loading and slowing down your browser, burdening your Mac's resources, and draining its battery. In many cases those advertisements will just annoy you with popups that often fraudulently proclaim your Mac to be infected with some ick, offering the "cure". Many people fall victim to those scams. Don't be one of them.
ClickToFlash allows you to create a whitelist to allow Flash Player to load for sites that you specify such as YouTube - read the above link for instructions. Otherwise, ClickToFlash will block Flash content by default. Click the grey box to allow the content to load.
Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you don't want ClickToFlash, simply click the Uninstall button and it will be gone.
While you're there look for other Extensions that may be present. If you see any that you do not recognize or do not want, get rid of them the same way. Toggling the "on/off" switch to "off" disables all Extensions. -

Not able to watch .mp4 videos in Quick Time Player
Hi,
I have a GOPro camera where the videos are currently stored on an external hard drive. I wanted to import those videos to iPhoto, which didn't work. Then I tried importing them without using iPhoto, but when trying to watch them I get a message saying that "Quick Time Player is not able to open the video.
I find this very strange, as I already have some GoPro videos in IPhoto, which I can view just fine (in iPhoto, and outside of iPhoto). The videos are shot using the same camera.
Also; Quick Time Player is supposed to support mp4. format; so I really don't see where I did go wrong?What format is used on the external drive?
I suspect it's the reason the files can't be played. -

Thanks JulieMake sure that you installed the current version of flash player. If you click on the mentioned "flash", you should be directed to adobe's website, where you can download the current version of flash player. After downloading it, make sure to install it as well. This should solve the issue with your photobucket.

There is an important training website which I've to watch the videos on them cannot play on safari because it says that it doesn't support mp4 videos? Any solutions? Because I really need to play and watch these videos via my ipad4.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward. -
No longer able to watch Purchased Movies
Since upgrading yesterday to 2.4 Firmware can no longer watch movies purchased via iTunes when I attempt to watch movies on the AppleTV I get "Your Apple TV is not authorized to play this content" yet cannot find out how to authorize my apple tv I've tried going into settings > iTunes Store signing out and resigning in...
anyone else having this issue and/or know how to resolve it?The only way to fix this problem is to have an update for firmware 2.4 and good luck with that as Apple thinks there is no problem with the software. The reason Apple TV can not play the content is because there was an update to iTunes and anything that was purchased before one updated iTunes is not recognized and therefore the message Apple TV is not authorized to play content. I restored Apple TV and started over with firmware 1 (like it when it was purchased) and everything worked perfectly. All music videos and movies that were purchased from iTunes played without a problem. I then update to firmware 2.4, which is the only update you can download now, and the problem was back. Anything purchased after the iTunes update will play and things purchased before the update of iTunes will not play. Apple Tech contacted by phone was totally unaware of any problems with firmware 2.4 and stated they would fix my Apple TV for $40.00 at any Apple Store, what a joke as there is nothing wrong with it. Its the software!!!!!!!!!

Why haven't I been able to watch YouTube videos for months? :(
I'm hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this issue I've been having...
I have an older MacBook Pro (bought July 2007) running OS 10.4.11, that hasn't been able to access YouTube or YouTube videos for the past several months. When trying to access the website on Firefox or Safari, the page takes forever to load and I get the "Connection has timed out" error. I've tried loading it on several different wireless connections, none of which should have any firewalls/proxies set. Embedded YouTube videos don't show up (there's just a blank space where they should be), and embedded HD YouTube videos will show the first frame but will not load or play.
I've never had any problems with YouTube before, but didn't turn my computer on between Feb and May of this year (I was traveling). I figured I must have missed some important update. But I'm currently running the most recent versions of Firefox (3.6.9) and Safari (4.0.3), Adobe Flash (10.1), Quicktime (7.6.4), and Java (v9 for OS 10.4). Updating these hasn't helped any. I also reinstalled Firefox entirely.
I don't have any issues loading any other websites, or playing/viewing other kinds of embedded videos, or any other videos. As far as I can tell, my internet browsers don't have any firewalls or blocks set up. Other laptops and desktops on the same wireless connections I've tried can access the site and embedded videos without issue.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I could try? I'd love to be able to get back on YouTube...

what you describe looks like a dns resolution error .. try this
go to terminal and type
sudo nano /Private/Etc/Hosts
you will be prompted for your password ..enter it and note that your input won't be visible ..
if all goes well you will see something like this :

# when the system is booting. Do not change this entry.
127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 broadcasthost
::1 localhost
if you see that try adding these lines EXACTLY AS YOU SEE underneath that page

and press control and X together on your keyboard
now back at the terminal type exit and hit return
reboot your machine ..

No longer able to watch PC content on my TV with HDMI
For several years, I've been able to connect my PC to my TV using an HDMI cable and sharing the display. Sometimes I would have to select the default audio device, and sometimes Windows would seemingly detect it automatically. I have a Dell PC running Windows
7 Home Premium, 64 bit edition, and an LG HDTV.
I moved and had to disconnect/reconnect everything. The connections are the same as previously - I have one HDMI port on the back of the PC, with a cable running to a switch. The switch has 3 inputs, one being used for the PC connection, one for a Roku,
and the other one free. The switch is then connected via HDMI to the TV. Same HDMI input as before.
I get video, but I can't get audio. In the Sound properties, I have two audio playback devices: Speakers and headphones. Both using Conexant HD audio. I've right-clicked and selected to show disconnected/disabled devices, but there are none. I've checked
in Device Manager, and there are no hardware conflicts listed for the audio devices. I don't see HDMI listed anywhere in Device Manager, just the Conexant card under Sound and Audio Devices and HD Audio Controller under System Devices.
I've scanned for new hardware, run an Intel driver update, restarted, unplugged the TV for 10 minutes and plugged back in, tried the HDMI connection directly to another input on the TV, played with making the TV the primary display. Nothing works. I'm thinking
it must be something simple, as it was working beautifully up until I moved.
If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.Hi,
I'd recommend trying two things to see if it solves your problem:
1. Restart the Windows audio service. Press your Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialogue box. Type in services.msc and select the Windows audio service. Restart it. Now try to select your TV as the audio device.
2. If the above step is unsuccessful, restart your computer while the TV is on and connected to your laptop through HDMI. Audio should play automatically.

It probably says update Flash or Java, not javascript (the iPhone has javascript).
You can try Skyfire or iSwifter, not great reviews in the App Store but apparently a good number of people like it.
You can check to see if the site you are going to that has these videos also has an app to view them.
If neither of those work for you then you should be will within your return period and you can return the iPhone and get a smartphone that has Flash and Java.
